We had a king accessible room so it was probably a little different from the regular rooms. It was spacious but one of the lights wasn't working so we had to drag a lamp over to the table area. There was a microwave and good size fridge and a small, pod coffee maker on the dresser. IMO the coffee was pretty good. Our couch also pulled out into a bed. They had coffee/tea in the lobby and passed out brown bag breakfasts in the morning. Our bathroom could have used some counter space but there wasn't any. The shower was tiny but did have a bench and grab bars. The whole thing was porta-potty sized and only had a hand held sprayer with very weak water pressure, but it was clean. They did provide bar soap and had shampoo and body wash dispensers in the shower. The whole room was pretty clean and almost bug free - which for Colorado mountain towns says a lot. It was showing some wear but it was nice to have the air conditioning unit even if it was noisy and didn't work very well. There was also a portable floor fan in the small closet along with a luggage stand and bench for the shower. If someone needs an accessible room this one was very complete. I chatted with John, the owner, a couple of times and he is very nice and pretty mellow. His daughter Laura is also very friendly and sweet. Really the biggest issue we had was lack of maid service. When I went to ask about clean towels, John told me to put our used ones on the chair outside our door. We did that the next day at 7am, got back to the room about 3:30pm and the used towels were gone but there were no new ones. I went to the lobby and got towels and when we left for dinner there was a stack of clean towels on the chair. No one ever emptied our trash or even checked the room the whole week. It wasn't that we needed much but the website and handout we received both stated they had daily maid service. For $250/night I would have expected better communication. I did really enjoy the firepit area and hot tubs and we were able to have friends over one evening to socialize on the patio. I do recommend The River's Edge but it's important to clarify expectations on what's included.

Mountainside Inn has around 80 rooms with some of them having kitchenettes. There is a hot tub outside if you want to warm up after a day of shredding. Coonskin lift (Lift 7) is the nearest lift and is a short walk across the parking lot from Mountainside Inn. You are also walking distance away from restaurants and bars or you can jump on the Galloping Goose free shuttle at a nearby stop. If you ski down Telluride Trail, there is a short cut you can take through the trees to the back door of Mountainside Inn. Fun way to end your day on the mountain.

We stayed in unit 205 (deemed a hotel room) which backs up to the San Miguel and a walking path. The location was nice! We never heard our neighbors both next to us and above but we did get plenty of early AM wakeup calls from doggies and children walking along the path. The room is a bit outdated (no AC and baseboard heating) but it was comfortable and clean. Our confirmation documents did not list but the room did come with a micro and mini fridge as well as a countertop model fan, hair dryer and luggage rack. There is no closet per se but a lovely armoire is tucked nicely by the front door and coat rack. We elected not to have housekeeping but prolly should have since it is an automatic charge. The staff were pleasant upon checkin but the front desk clerk at checkout, not so much. So between that and the upcharges, i would have given a better rating. What was $490 for two nights turned into $620 + $50 for insurance (in case of cancellation). Telluride is pretty pricey in general but this was the best we could find at short notice (so pretty fortunate there). Definitely recommended for location and cleanliness!

We were here over Fourth of July and I want to come back every year now. Our room was just perfect for my husband and I. Parking was easy and the room was clean. They even did a Fourth of July barbecue for all of their guests. What a treat for all of us and the food was delicious! I can't forget the great breakfast, coffee, and wine/cookie happy hour. They had games outside on the grass for everyone to play. The kids staying there really enjoyed those. I even saw guest sitting outside in their chairs, reading books, and enjoying the scenery. It was also a very quick walk to the Main Street in town. Only a block away. This place will hold a place in my heart forever.

The pillows were way too firm. The shower was hot and had great pressure. We both woke up early and decided to hit the road. We thought we would get some coffee before we headed out (7:25a and breakfast started at 7:30). Mark and Phoebe were the greatest. They made the best included breakfast we have ever had at any hotel. The eggs were cooked perfect and their sausage was so good. I had 2 and my BF had 3! They also served roasted potatoes that were so flavorful. Homemade muffins too. . We also met several nice people and talked with Mark & Phoebe. We ended up staying g till 8:30. This Inn is located a block from everything. I would stay here again when I'm in Ouray and recommend the Ouray Inn.

For $249 a night, you get stained tile floors, a water dispenser with a filter that should've been changed presidential administrations ago, and a desk with laminate peeling like it's allergic to effort. The wood laminate flooring had an awkward cut--like something used to be there, but instead of fixing it, they just hoped no one would notice. Spoiler: we noticed. The furnishings? Straight out of a bargain bin at Walmart. The bed offered the full "camping on concrete" experience--I tossed, I turned, and I woke up with a backache that's still lobbying for an Advil sponsorship. To top it off, the entire place feels like it hasn't seen a meaningful update since the late '90s. It was maybe a quarter full, and honestly, that felt generous. Only saving grace was Rachel at check-in--she was friendly, helpful, and deserved better than working the front desk at a hotel this run-down. Unless they gut-renovate soon, this place might be checking itself out for good.

Also their underground parking lot makes getting from the car to your room a breeze. The room was massive and as was the bathroom. My favorite part though was the balcony. So delightful to sit out there and be right at the base of the mountain. The continental breakfast had super fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits and homemade cinnamon rolls. Would be spending $30+ per person for breakfast anywhere else so it's a winner. I can't wait to be back and try one of their condos with some friends :)

We had an excellent stay at the Camel's Garden Hotel…read more While it is an older hotel, you can't beat the location. It is located right next to the gondola. It does appear they may have renovated the downstairs common area. There is plenty of lounge seating, a fireplace and light oks like you can host a small gathering. We walked in and the front desk clerk who worked Wednesday was very friendly and even walked the luggage cart down to the garage for us. There is an underground garage that has shared space with the hotel condos. But it is $20 a day to park. I'm not sure if there is an alternative space outside to park overnight. The king room was very spacious and has a fireplace. Our friends stayed in the queen size room which was much smaller and no fireplace. There is plenty of seating in the room and has a large bathroom, wardrobe closet, 2 dressers and dining table. There is a large tv but unfortunately the WiFi is a bit sketchy so we could watch much tv. We even had a small balcony. The bed was very comfortable. Pillows not so much. Plenty of linens. There is a ski valet which is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm which is so nice to have available. We came down the hill late one afternoon and left our equipment outside the valet room. They were safe and sound inside the valet the next day. We had the nicest ski valets taking care of us, Jake and Miller. The hotel provides a free continental breakfast from 7:30am to 9:30am. Bagels & salmon, toast, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee. The breakfast staff were very friendly. There is a nice pool and jacuzzi with views. A bar/restaurant is attached to the hotel which is convenient. Clearly a locals favorite. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Telluride.
