Quaint little cabin, clean and had everything we needed. They were very friendly and helpful. We accidentally locked ourselves out of the cabin and they quickly got us back in. Best part is the great location...it's a short walk to everything. read more

First time to visit Lake City this summer, and I cannot wait to come back! It was a fabulous little town! We stayed in cabin 6, and although it is small, it is very homey! We were able to sleep 4 adults, no problem! At night, we slept with the windows open, and the cool air was so refreshing, coming from Texas. G & M Cabins are located right off the town square, which means you are literally walking distance, less than a 5 minute walk, to the city park, Packer Saloon and Cannibal Grill, San Juan Soda Company, and many more shops! The cabin was very clean, with updated counter top and cabinets in the kitchen. Loved hanging out on the front porch swing. read more

They are fully equipped with everything you would need if your staying more than 1 night. Very clean and a lot of space. The owner was so friendly and helpful with places to eat. This place is WONDERFUL! We stayed in Cabin 12. It exceeded my expectations on several levels. I spent many a summer in Lake City as a child in the late 70's and these cabins were there then. I have visited Lake City many times since in the past 4 decades and these cabins were still there. I had never stayed at these cabins till now. With the age of this property alone I was somewhat dubious about the cleanliness and the outdatedness of things/items in the cabin. I was so wrong!!! Super clean. Super cute. Super maintained. Yes it is a cabin and yes this is Lake City. So expect wood paneled rooms and mountain pictures and a little bit of rustic charm. But this place was amazing. Clean kitchen with everything we needed. Comfy living room. Great bedroom with a comfy bed (great mattress!), clean linens, and good carpet. The bathroom was super clean and had everything we needed. The host was amazing and great to chat with and took care of any needs we had. The cabin is less than a block from "downtown" and there are great places to eat and shop steps away. We are already planning to go back next year and stay longer. Thank you! read more

G & M Cabins - Cabin 12 - Hotels Near Me - Lake City, Colorado

We stayed in Cabin 7 and because these are individually owned, decorated and maintained, my comments/suggestions regarding the interior only apply to this particular cabin. The location of these cabins are great as they are right in the heart of Lake City. You can literally walk out your door and around the corner is the park, gift stores, restaurants, ice cream shop, etc. Although we were surrounded by cabins and in the center of downtown, it was pretty quiet and relaxing. In the evenings around the dinner hour, we did hear live music from the nearby Packers restaurant but that only lured us over to enjoy some tunes in the patio. We stayed in Cabin 7, it sleeps 6 people (could have 7 if you put two on the futon) and has a ramp which was perfect for my disabled mother in law. She is wheelchair bound so without it would've been very difficult. The floors were laminate wood so that made it easier for us to push her throughout the house. There were raised thresholds dividing each room so that made it hard for her to navigate herself but we managed. The house is very outdated in decor but not a huge deal to us as we planned on spending most of our time outdoors. It was pretty clean but could use a nice dusting in certain areas. One room had two twins beds and the heater or AC did not operate on this end of the home so they provided fans and portable heaters. That was not an issue at all. The living room had one twin, a futon that folds out in to a full size, a recliner that elevates (great for my mother in law) and another chair. The second bedroom had a queen size bed. The beds were all very very hard which gave us all, even the kiddos a backache when we woke up. I even like firm beds but these were like sleeping on wood! The kitchen was small but had a nice fridge, gas stove, oven, microwave and toaster oven. There were plenty of pots, pans, dishes, silverware (nothing fancy) but no foil or plastic bags so we had to venture out to get some in order to pack food for picnics. Ice was provided in trays in the freezer which was nice but get more if you need to fill coolers. There is only one bathroom but we split some showers at night and some in the morning so no real issue there. For such a small water heater, I thought we would run out of hot water in minutes but it lasted just fine and we have teenagers! They also provided toiletries and plenty of towels which was really nice. The dining area was small but TV trays were in the living area so we managed and there is even a screened porch that we enjoyed in the early mornings. Overall, it was a nice stay. Maybe with some adjustments on the bedding issue, we would consider returning. read more

I usually will not a review a place I have only been to once, but these are exceptions.*** --------- I am late on this review, but for some reason when I logged onto Yelp today, it brought me to Lake City, so I was reminded that I meant to review some places. We rolled into Lake City after a lovely winding driving through the Mountains. I had heard about some very nice hiking and views near Lake City so we figured we would just bunker down at a little motel as this was during the week; however, to our shock the few places with nightly rates were all booked. We thought about just passing through and driving to the next town which is a bit bigger, but G&M Cabins came to the rescue. They advertise that they have a 3 night minimum; but the property manager was very helpful and rented us Cabin #15 for 1 night at a $5 increase over the 3-night price. He then proceeded to tell us about every place to eat (we had some fish and chicken fried steak at a place a couple blocks away, but I can't find it in Yelp and can't remember the name to review it, which is a bummer because they had outdoor seating and were very nice). These cabins are individually owned, so each one is unique and comes with a full kitchen. I believe ours was the smallest one, but it did us just fine. We were able to walk to a coffee shop on Silver street and had deer come through the property which was very nice. All in all, I like this place. It was no frills, but well kept and they did us right. read more

My husband goes to "man camp" every year above Lake City. After hearing about this little town for years we ALL finally got to visit. We rolled in late afternoon after only calling in an hour in advance. The owners are fantastic! Our little cabin was perfect for our 2 nights stay for our family of 4, which includes teenagers. We are typically condo stayers, and this place measured right up re the amenities. Location is perfect, allowing us to walk the town with the roaming elk. (late May). We look forward to staying here again! read more

This is my third time to visit Lake City. All three times we have stayed in cabin 6. It is small but quaint and homey. We enjoy the view from the swing or the two chairs on the front porch. The decorations and the cabinets could use a little updating but for the price it is a great cabin to stay in. The property manager Jacque is always friendly and informative. The cabins are clean and everyone we have met at G & M cabins are very friendly. I love being in the center of town and walking every where. I highly recommend G & M Cabins. read more

We recently made our summer pilgrimage to Lake City, and after a disaster a few years ago staying on Ball Flats, our annual trip only includes lodging at G&M cabins. As usual the place is beautiful, nice cozy camp type atmosphere with a park located on site, and plenty of parking for my guests when we cooked out. We stayed in cabin 7, our first in this cabin, and it was exceptional, as are all of the other cabins we have stayed. It was ready on our arrival day, spit-shined clean, everything was in top working order. This cabin was laid out very well to accommodate all of the rooms in the space. I can't say enough about the 3-night stay and the way that we slept, was nothing short of amazing. We cracked our window at night, and cozied up under the blankets for an exceptional nights sleep. Coming from the city-life, it's amazing to me how utterly quiet it in this mountain setting. G&M also was does great job decorating the cabins in a mountain rustic tone, with all of the modern conveniences. Wi-Fi was great , flat screen TV's, and convenient business options that were only a few steps away. I was able to conduct a little business in the morning, and relax the rest of the stay, while seeing the beautiful Lake City area. The caretaker's of G&M to a fantastic job of making sure everything is top notch. Next summer, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else, even if it was free. read more

Stayed in Cabin 1 in May. We have stayed in this cabin multiple times. Always enjoy the town and the area. Cabin has always been clean, homey and well maintained. The staff has been very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable as to what is going on in the area. Always enjoy our stay. read more
