Long story short, I got a little ambitious while trimming my beard and ended up taking the clippers a little too high, taking off way more than I intended to... Looking like a fool, I pulled up yelp and looked for barber shops in my area that were open. Rockville Barber Shop came up and being that it's literally down the block, I thought why not give it a try? MAN did I make the right call! I was immediately greeted when I walked in and Ronnie took me right away. I showed him the damage and he sat me down, talked me off the cliff, and assured me he would take care of everything. During the course of my haircut he not only made great conversation, but made sure I was comfortable and walked me through exactly what he was doing, step by step. I've never had a barber who did that and it was such a relief, especially given the situation I was in. A short time later he was done, and I was incredibly pleased with the results! To sum it up, these guys are professional, friendly, and VERY knowledgeable. They definitely earned my trust and I have no doubts that I'll be back. HIGHLY recommend!!!

No, it's not Lobster on the outdoor patio at Peter's.. not quite yet. I need a HAIRCUT or rather I needed them all cut I needed a haircut really bad. After 3 months of pandemic panic, my hair had not been this long since I went to the Dead shows back in the days of my hippie youth. Arriving at Long Beach, I saw a big beautiful sign by the road it said barber shop OPEN! I had heard of unavailable appointments for weeks and long lines of customers waiting. I was lucky, only 2 people in front of me. I thought I was going to get cut by a clipper tied onto a 6-foot pole. Just kidding. I was served quickly and with a smile, my barber wore a mask and quickly and expertly made a big pile of hair on the floor. A few sprays of the aftershave, and it was done I left the barbershop 5 lb lighter. It was interesting to feel the sun on the back of my neck for the first time in months. The pricing on the haircut was $25 and I threw him a 20 tip. Which I felt was appropriate. I am so happy with my clean sharp haircut and feel much better. This wonderful Oceanview Barber shop in Long Beach is very much recommended and covid-19 safe. See you soon.

I pulled up the local ones closest to me in yelp and on Google and this one was the one that ultimately felt right. And boy, was it right. Just a heads up, they do not accept credit cards so be prepared with cash. There are a couple businesses not too far away where you can use an ATM. They do not disclose their prices over the phone or on the Internet because they are very competitive and competing salons try and undercut them. I got a haircut and a shave today, and though nobody knew it, this was my very first time getting a real shave. And by real shave, I meant one that was professionally done, one that I did not do myself - I typically use 'Lectric Shave and an electric shaver. This is legit. Razor, shaving cream, hot towels. The real deal. It was an amazing experience. Every man must one day experience a real shave in their lifetime. Oddly enough, I waited until Father's Day weekend to treat myself to one. Very very pleased, very very happy. And to top it off, the gentleman who gave me the haircut and shave was the owner himself, Jose! It can be busy at times, which didn't bother me any because I could just gaze at all the memorabilia on the walls.
