I have never in all my years been so appalled at a business. My bf goes in for a very simple cut and comes out assaulted. They took a razor to his head and cut him 12 times. His head was a bloody massacre. He's too much of a gentleman to not pay even though he was bleeding profusely so he did and they took his money!! Beware of bloody tools there! Just like the name says... this is the Best Barber Shop around! I've been coming here for over 15 years, getting my hair cut by the same barber - Junior. No need to change. They have a sign up on the wall "14 Barbers, No Waiting" but I don't mind waiting for Junior, as he usually has a few customers lined up. Awful experience here today went in and all I wanted was a fade on the sides and to shape up my beard. Specifically asked not to touch the top because I was growing it out well the woman did absolutely nothing I wanted she did not fade the sides she kept the front of my hair and cut all of the back on top. The right side of my hair is longer then the left she didn't line anything up with a straight razor now to the beard she decided to take the buzzer to it to "shape it up" cut everything off on the cheeks and pushed it down to my jaw line on my neck she pushed it up and it was very uneven it just baffles that they have no regard for what the paying customer wants. I'm honestly embarrassed to walk around with what they did to my head I shaved my entire beard off as soon as I got home read more

Back on Long Island and I needed a trim badly. It was Sunday and I absolutely didn't want to go back to the bad Supercuts (I still have yet to find a good one), so my brother and I hit up Best Barber Shop. I lucked out and got excellent service from Barbara, who got rid of my tangled mess of hair and cleaned up my beard as well. She used their signature warm lather at the end of the haircut to shave the back of my neck, something I always find to be serendipitous (even though I know it's coming). They have since raised their price from $8 to $9 for a haircut and the beard trim was only another $3 (and worth every penny). My brother wasn't satisfied with the gentleman who cut his hair, but he always gets a very simple crewcut. This is my go-to place on LI and I wouldn't have it any other way. read more

I have finally found a place where I can get a terrific haircut without a bunch of "pomp and circumstance." Finding a decent barber is much harder than one would ever imagine. There are salons that want $25 + dollars for mens haircuts. You make an appointment, show up, and wait 30 minutes for someone to shampoo your hair and then make you wait even longer for the 5-10 minute haircut you're about to receive. Then you have barber shops that may charge a little less (but surprisingly, many are still pricey), but the owners are old and haven't developed their skills since "Leave it to Beaver" and "I love Lucy" were popular on TV. There are other barbers in the area that I swear only serve as fronts for drug dealings and other illegal activities. While the place is in desperate need of a remodel, do not let appearances deceive you... For less than $10.00, I have been getting the best haircuts I've ever had. The gentleman who cut my hair is fast and precise. I've been twice so far, and I plan to make this my go to barber shop. read more

Absolutely worthless. My fiancee went in to get his hair cut for the wedding, the woman didn't understand a word of English, and just buzzed his hair all off rather than listening to anything he said. Really took a notch out of our wedding day. Avoid them unless you do not care at all what hair cut they decide to give you and if it looks like garbage. read more
