Prices very high. Portions small 6 of us ordered 3 meals came out wrong or overcooked. One order was just a pain piece of chicken and applesauce ( do to savier allergy) came out with a topping of cheese, peppers and onions and mushrooms. Girl delivering was very rude when told that was not ordered. Manager took the order off bill. When we looked at the bill They where going to charge $27.00 for a chicken breast and applesauce. Showed up a bit early for my reservation. The bar area was 3 deep to get a drink. With ONE bartender. First beer was flat. Second beer was flat. After it was at least 20 min past my reservation time I asked about my table. They weren't even setting up yet because they had to wait for patrons to finish eating so they could use their table. So waited forever to sit. Waitress was frazzled but that's understandable. I gave 2 stars because the food was great. Not good enough to go back. The noise level was insane. First time at this location.. Great looking location and has lake views. Not busy when we arrived and we were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress (Brooke U) did an awesome job and repeatedly checked on our table throughout the stay. Everyone enjoyed their meals, portions were good and food arrived in a reasonable time. More importantly it was hot and delicious! I had the filet mignon sandwich which was cooked medium rare perfectly. It was delicious as was the side of onion rings. So my wife and I just went to Rocky's as we've heard nothing but great things about it. Hostess greeted us, took our name and told us to enjoy a cocktail on the deck and she would come and get us when tables were ready... And then forgot about us. After our second cocktail... Looking around the restaurant there were plenty of seats I said something to the hostess who apologized and then promptly sat us. There we sat watching tables around us get filled after we sat and waitresses promptly waiting on them. We.... Must of been invisible. After another drink, that I got myself at the bar.. I asked the hostess if we had a waitress, she apologized yet again said she'd have someone right over to our table. Finally after an hour and 20 minutes after arriving and totally being ignored while everyone else was taken care of. We left. And received another apology. If apologies were food.. we left stuffed. Made a reservation over a month ago for my daughter's 25th Wedding Anniversary. I requested the Lake Room and with respect mentioned there would be thirteen people in case that was too many. I was assured that thirteen was fine and that he would put us in that room. When we arrived we noticed the room was completely filled. What we ended up with was being seated in a back room near the toilets and absolutely no room for thirteen people. They arranged several tables in all different directions. Some of my guests were stuck in corners unable to talk to anyone else. I felt that was totally unacceptable not to have my guest all at one table as I noticed there were other larger parties with long tables arranged. A total disappointment. I asked to speak to the manage/owner and he refused to come out. A courtesy call for an apology would have been nice as they knew they couldn't accommodate my request. Bad enough.... I ordered veal francese and was told they were out of it but I could have veal parm Well obviously if they had veal for parm but not francese they don't cook to order. Definitely premade food. Total turn off !! Ended up with chicken francese. The worse I've ever had. Hard, dry, tasteless on a bed of overcooked spaghetti. I will never go back there. I can't figure out what everyone raves about. My thirteen people couldn't wait to get out of there. read more

We found our new favorite spot by accident! This is a long review with our fabulous experience. We just set up our new camp in the area and were looking for the closest place to eat. It said this place was closest but closed in an hour at 9. We decided to go check it out since it was just a few minutes away. I truly wasn't expecting much, since a lot of the restaurants up in the area are small and simple. From the entrance I still wasn't expecting what we found inside! The bar was very modern. Lots of High top tables the place was not too busy at the time, except for that bar area. There was another dining area to the right of the bar where bathrooms are located as well. I guess being so close to closing on a Thursday night we got lucky and missed any crowds. They sat us in a separate room with regular tables, a view of the lake, modern gas fireplace, big screen TV and beautiful antler chandeliers. The vibe seemed more of a Westchester County NY vibe. Joe, I believe the bar manager came over to wait on us. Very friendly. He brought us menus and I gave him our 2 choices off the drink menu. I was celebrating the work we did at our property. I chose a spicy pineapple margarita and something mango in a martini glass. Amazing flavor combinations! Better than any drinks I've had in NYC! Eventually I went for a 2nd round before I left! He recommended some specials. We both got something from specials. The stuffed chicken parmigiana. Again I wasn't expecting much, Italian up in this area from my last experience wasn't great. It was delicious! It was cheese and pepperoni in between 2 perfectly cooked chicken breasts, topped with sauce and fresh parmesan cheese over a bed of pasta. If my husband didn't always have a huge appetite and finish my food I would say this could be shared. My husband got some sort of hot Italian salad, a steak and sweet potato fries. He said it was cooked perfectly. He's very picky about his steak. The fries were not greasy, salty or soggy as most sweet potato fries are. Joe checked in regularly and thanked us for the compliments about the wonderful drinks, since he chooses them for the menu. He was so pleasant and attentive. While we were eating and he was in the back, even the bartender popped her head over to our side to see if we needed anything. My husband had a peanut butter pie or something for dessert, which he also loved! No negatives, except I wish they were open later. Joe wrote a note to come again soon on our check. The views, food and ambiance was enough to bring us back every time we travel up that way, but wait.. there's more! It was about 11:30pm before we got back to my camp and realized I forgot my wallet on the table! We rushed back over there, but it was closed by now. My husband left a VM and our numbers and I wrote a note and stuck it in the door and prayed someone would go in early that Friday and see it. I was worried and prayed all night that they would realize it was my wallet. Based on my experience at the restaurant I wasn't concerned with it too much, except the fact that I had $500 in that wallet and needed to head back home before the restaurant opened the next day at 4:00pm. I barely have cell service up there so left my number and asked to text if they couldn't get a hold of me. How happy was I that Christine the manager called me bright and early Friday morning. She instructed me to go right to the kitchen door and Steve would have it waiting for me. A few hours later I did just that and nothing inside was touched. I was so thankful to her and all of her wonderful staff for not only one of the best last minute dining experiences I've had in a while, but restoring some of my faith in humanity and good in this world. What a great first time at Rocky's on the Lake. We had a reservation and were shown our table right away. We were missing one in our party so we had drinks at the bar, and a nice conversation with the bartender, who was friendly and quick with the drinks. Rocky's has a really varied menu. It's not impossibly huge and they offer everything from a filet mignon to a fried bologna sandwich. There were eight in our party and we were seated in a room with three other large parties of eight or more. The service did not suffer. Appetizers were brought promptly, as were drinks and dinner. We sampled the burger, fried bologna sandwich, veal francaise, chicken francaise, pork, sea bass, and fish fry. Everyone was happy with their meal top to bottom. The deserts were also very good and staff comped the peanut butter pie as we were out for someone's birthday. I can see how it would get slammed here in the summertime. If you're looking to check it out under less harried circumstances, winter would be your best bet. I would not recommend if you have covid concerns - the place was totally packed and not a mask in sight on any guests or staff. read more

The location on Hinkley Reservoir is beautiful. To my disappointment, the dark interior of Rocky's cancels that out! Perhaps when you book the venue for an event, you can sit in the far room or on the back deck. Otherwise, you feel like you are in a dark aquarium, behind multiple layers of glass. At least I've felt that way the 3 times I visited. Sad and claustrophobic, wanting to get outside. Plus, this is a SPORTS BAR with giant TVs on the wall = Not Classy. So why the stiff formality? The food was not memorable. The live music was Too Close and to get to the restrooms you had to cut in front of the performer. Nothing makes sense here. Disturbing. Why not match the airy fresh beauty of the location? read more

We have friends who live near this restaurant. We went to visit them and they made a reservation for a Saturday at 3 pm. We ate in the dining room. It is a large room with large windows to view Hinkley Reservoir. The bar is large and the decor is upscale. I had the chicken riggies, my husband the filet mignon sandwich. Our friends had the burger and chicken francaise. Our friend knew the bartender who made some wonderful expresso martinis. The food was tasty and the service was professional and prompt. Music is loud ( well, we were seated in the bar) Very slow!! Reservations were for 6:30. It is now 8:28 Shiva and we are still waiting! My suggestion: when you order appetizers and are asked "do you want to just order now" say YES!! 15 minutes after we ordered we were informed that they were out of "Milanese" for my meal! All that consists of is mainly chopped salad!! Another visit to our table ( there have not been many) informing us that the "manager" has been informed! I normally never post reviews, good or bad but was compelled to after visiting Rocky's today. We arrived around 3:20, was seated immediately and waited quite a bit for the waitress to take our drink order. Finally around 3:50 she took our food order, but wrote nothing down. About 15 mins later, we noticed the place clearing out and had to look online to realize they closed at 4 which no one mentioned. Finally the food came out around 4:25 and was almost all wrong. Just pizza & wings, nothing complicated. They got the sauces for the wings all wrong, she brought us one serving of wings that were supposedly corrected but honestly still didn't seem like what we ordered. She said at that point the kitchen refused to make any more wings and that she would remove part of the wing order from the bill which she did. Just an all around bad experience unfortunately and she couldn't even figure out how to fix it because she obviously didn't remember what we originally ordered. read more

First visit. The food was excellent and service was incredibly fast. we were seated and out the door in 45 minutes. There are separate dining areas. we sat in the more "Sports bar" area and were happy with that. There is another section that's separate from where we ate that seemed quieter. Also there's a patio but we were told they don't serve out there. We will be going back. With that said, anyone can have a good or bad experience at a restaurant depending on the night. My gluten free dish arrived with what appeared to be a hard boiled egg over rock hard gf toast. Shame! Last evening we were seated at 7pm. The staff was superb. Courteous and prompt. Good food on general. However the Italian spaghetti and meatball was as if a simple can of tomato sauce from a can was just poured over spaghetti. The sauce was like water no taste or spice. No body just a biting taste of tomatoes. The meatball sat on top a mass of spaghetti Just cooked and drained. Not happy! We make a reservation over a week in advance, we arrived two minutes passed the reservation time and our table was given away. They told us that a couple came in with the same name and they took our reservation. The staff would not make it right. We specifically requested a certain room and would not be accommodated. Surf and Turf unlike any other I've had before, absolutely DELICIOUS. We had many appetizers, our dinner, and a couple desserts... usually not ones to finish all of our food and take much of it home with us... not today. No longer take reservations from open table but yet open table still takes them. Besides the point. My friends and I drove 45 minutes to have brunch to celebrate a birthday. We get there and get seated. We notice there's a food menu but no brunch. Weird. We hear another table ask the same thing and we hear them get told that they don't serve brunch on saturdays anymore. So we ask our waitress. Apparently they decided not to do it anymore but yet didn't make a post on Facebook or anything regarding it. Our waitress told us another table got up and left this morning after finding out no brunch. We sat and decided for a few what we wanted to do. We ended up leaving.
