The wine selection was fantastic. Probably my favorite part of the meal! Silver Oak by the glass is pretty rare. The ribeye was good, but I'm hard to impress considering my boyfriend can make an amazing steak at home for far less. The Mac and cheese with truffle was delicious. We also ordered the goat cheese app and the bacon app, nothing to write home about. I think it's worth visiting once but I probably will not be back as it is a little expensive for what it was. We visited Rococo Steakhouse in November of 2017. I I've been meaning to write a much-needed review. We ordered the porterhouse two I must say in all honesty it was the worst we've ever experienced at a steakhouse. But the manager came right over and took it from us because he saw the quality of the steak. For some reason it was full of chunks of fat. They brought us 2 fillets, drinks, and a side. When the bill came they only charged us for the drinks. I would definitely go back they were very fair very nice and professional. The fillets were delicious. Wow. This place left my family speechless. We came here on a whim, wanting to spend the afternoon down in St. Pete. My daughter found this restaurant when she googled steakhouses in the area. WHAT A FIND. The ambiance is incredibly beautiful. I felt like we were back in time. The service from the second we walked through the door was excellent. Our server really explained the menu and the top picks. We all ended up with the filet and an array of impeccable sides. The steaks were cooked perfectly. All of them. Totally worth the drive from Tampa! I have now been there several times. The food has consistently provided us with an exquisite experience. Dishes are just a level above in terms of the extra blend of flavors, the little extra thing that is going to make your gustative experience different and interesting. The interior and atmosphere are on the trendy side and the staff welcoming from the door step, knowledgeable, fun and customer oriented. They have a second floor for private parties that can accommodate groups of every size. I have been here twice and enjoyed it both times but it is kind of missing the wow factor for some reason. The building is beautiful and I love the decor and ambiance. Both times we sat outside on the lovely patio. The first time I came here I had the petite filet mignon with a side of béarnaise sauce and it was delicious and it was cooked to perfection. We got the whipped potatoes as a side. All of their sides are sharable portions, I prefer to be able to choose my own sides as opposed to collectively deciding amongst everyone I am with. This time I had the lobster bisque, which was very good, but very rich and savory. It was a large portion and very filling so I wasn't able to finish it. I would have preferred a smaller portion option. I then had the crab cake appetizer, this was delicious and not filled with breading like many other places. I would definitely get this again. We also had the twice baked potatoes that are 4 adorable servings that look almost like cupcakes. We enjoyed these. The. We shares the lavender crème brûlée, yummy but I would not be able to eat the whole thing. The lavender was a bit much for my taste. read more

Wine glasses went empty for 20 minutes, Caesar salad was one of the smallest and most boring I've seen and it took almost 2 hours for a simple meal. Seating options were horrible (right next to the loud mouths in the bar (which included the staff). Overall a horrible and my last experience with this place. This place was needed in Stpete. Tampa has Charlies and Berns, we didn't have anything to compete other than 400 Beach for seafood. Rococo is a unique place and the layout is from an old gym. The food is outstanding, the Wisconsin cheese curds with bacon is about all you need in this life or the next. Their wine selection is outstanding. The service is excellent. My only real complaints is sometimes it gets alittle dark in there. read more

This was our first visit. It's a little pricey so we wanted to try it for happy hour before going for a full dinner. It's a beautiful restaurant and the service is some of the best service in town, from the host to the bartender to the food runner they were all very friendly, polite and accommodating. Kudos to management on hiring and training! Everything we ordered was great. The Pinot Noir on the happy hour menu is very nice which I find happy hour wines normally not so great. We had the calamari (tender and nice subtle sauce), lobster bisque (very good although could be hotter), sliders (very good and not dry which can be an issue with sliders), short rib cigars (basically an egg roll but stuffed with short ribs and very good!). It was all great and our new 'go to' place for happy hour. Looking forward to having a full sit down dinner with them in the near future. read more

I can't think of one negative thing to say about this restaurant. The décor is eclectic and upscale. The food was top notch. The lobster bisque was rich and creamy with a hint of cognac with chunks of lobster. Delicious! I had the NY strip perfectly charred on the outside with the perfect hint of pink. We ordered the mushrooms that were a wonderful blend of shitake and Portobello. My BF had the fish which he said was delicious. The grilled octopus was tasty too.The deconstructed key lime pie was to die for. The meringue was on the bottom topped by a graham cracker blondie. Generous dollops of key lime curd topped this masterpiece. The service was impeccable. Their presentation of the food is very impressive. It is pricey but well worth it. I was quite impressed with the atmosphere here. The history of the building was also quite unique. I was a walkin around 5pm on Thursday July 20th, so I decided to sit at the bar. First time impression: steaks were very good and wine list is exceptional. The ambiance has potential but needs improvement. In particular, the lighting is low and problematic. Everyone was using candles and flashlights to read the menu. The music was intrusive and inappropriate for the setting. The music should be more in keeping with the theme of by-gone era...jazz or live piano would be much preferable. The potential is strong for repeat business due to the food being outstanding and we will return but maybe not too often without changes mentioned. This place has a very charming, modern atmosphere. The drinks are well made, and the steak was pretty good. Nothing about this place, however, really had me convinced it was worth what was being charged. The menu items are all a la carte, which of course is typical of high end steakhouses, however I'm not sure I'd classify this place as high end. Wife and I went there for date night and wanted to try something new in the area. Wow were we impressed! We decided to go surf and turf, I ordered the Ribeye and she ordered the Black Cod. We told the waitress we planned on splitting it but didn't think anything more of it. When it came out, they had portioned it for us! The steak was AMAZING but as good as it was the Cod was better! This place was fantastic! As experienced fine diners, we would put this place at the top of our list. My party of four regularly dines at Bern's, Capital Grille, Flemings, Ruths Chris, Eddie V's, etc and we would put this place ahead of most steakhouses in the area. The grass and corn fed beef was excellent, the service was attentive, the sides were great and the desserts were unexpectedly phenomenal! I don't know what these other people are referring to on expensive (our dinner was around $125 with drinks...not expensive at all). Our only complaint would be the mushroom side....awful and it's inexcusable for a steakhouse to have poor mushrooms :) Also, my parent's hosted their company Christmas party at Rococco and felt the same as us. Great decor, great service, unfortunately my medium rare NY strip I felt was overcooked. It was immediately taken away and another medium rare brought out- unfortunately it was a bit stringy and I really had to saw through it. Charcoal crust taste overwhelmed flavour of the juices. It tasted curiously over and under seasoned at the same time. In the end I only paid for double baked potatoes, the steak was taken off the bill. So whilst I can't credit the steak I can credit the ethics and the service. read more

We visited last night- Friday looking for great food, service, and atmosphere. The inside of the place was dark and stuffy so we headed to the porch. It was a nice night so it worked out. Kind of loud though, we couldn't hear each other. The server was trying very hard to be excited She said she's worked in steak restaurants for a long time but new to this one. We ordered martinis which were good but after 2 I still felt like I was drinking juice, if there was any vodka in there it was very minimal. Our appetizer was the salmon and tuna tartar. It was good, not great just good. The weird chips they use to eat it with did not do the plate any favors. For dinner we ordered 9oz slow roasted filets. The steaks came out barely warm and so full of gristle they were difficult to cut or chew. The flavor was bland so it couldn't even compensate for the toughness of the steak. We asked the server to speak with the manager. It took a while but he showed up. It was odd that it took so long because I watched him walk the isle peering at tables so I know he was around. He said sorry in a lame way and took our plates. The server came by a few minutes later and said the mgr was taking care of our entire tab. I felt bad for the server, she looked upset/embarrassed. The prices and stiff attire of the wait staff certainly don't reflect what they offer. Maybe it's still too new but the place seemed so awkward like the staff wasn't sure what they're role was. Lots of staff but it took really long to get out meals. When they would a table their meal 4 servers were stumbling all over each other. It was weird. Happy servers, who are willing to go a little above and beyond (fill waters and drinks on a regular basis) increase check averages and therefore greater tips. Dined here Saturday evening, Nov. 9. Decided to sit outside, as it was very loud inside. They will need to do something about the acoustics. It was a nice cool evening; perfect for sitting out front on the terrace. The setting was nice and inviting, but too dark to read the menu and the piped in music was too loud to have conversation without yelling. Asked waiter to turn it down, and he did. Waiter was nice, but lacked experience for a high end restaurant. We brought our own wine ($25 corkage), watched as he struggled to open the bottle (thought he was going to tear the cork on the $150 cab) and finally he got it. The request for a decanter was met with a blank stare. We ordered our steaks and salads. The food was excellent; well prepared and presented nicely. I can see it will take some time to work out some service, inside noise and lighting details, but they are new and deserve a chance. The food alone will bring me back. read more

We have dined at Rococo many times and always have great service and meal. From the moment you arrive and the doors are opened for you by Kevin and Will, life is good. We are hooked on their signature drink, the port of no return. The bar has high tops, bar seating and several tables in a side room which make for nice options. We always have a FABULOUS time with Josh, who is friendly, fun and knows his menu. We enjoy our petite filets every time, usually with mac and cheese and corn (love the corn). Nice choice of desserts, all good. Rococo is a great spot for date nights and special occasions - they also have several private seating rooms, as well as very different dining rooms, all small and pretty. read more

We were celebrating my GF's birthday and I made reservations in advance. We were greeted by two gentlemen that opened the doors for us..Nice touch. I asked when I made my reservations for a nice table since it was our first visit and we were celebrating. They gave us a small table against the wall in the first room. I believe the chairs were custom built mini booths and I felt like I was sitting in a hole, and I'm a big guy. We asked if we could have another table and was offered 2 others to choose from. The hostess was great, but kept saying you can sit anywhere because its your birthday.. and we were going to get FREE desert because its your birthday.... It doesn't sound like something to complain about, but we weren't visiting for the free birthday desert. It would have been nice if the waiter just said it was on the house after he served it. The hostess was young and was trying to be nice, sometimes saying less is better. She was sweet. Then it was on to the waiter. We ordered a few drinks and waited almost 20 mins for them. We had to actually ask another waiter to find our guy. We were not enjoying our visit thus far. I had a little talk with our waiter and reminding him in a nice way that we were celebrating a birthday and weren't too happy about the long wait for our drinks. He agreed and stepped up his game after that.. The food, drinks, and desert all were worthy of a top steak house. Loved loved the dinner. The ambiance wasn't that great either. The lights were too bright and kind of in my eyes. They could really use some low lighting in the main seating areas. Oh and the young man that served us just wasn't well trained. He almost knocked my water over when placing the plates down. Very awkward young man, but trying to do a good job. The waiter did comp our first round and yes the desert was on the house. When spending top dollar on a meal, we should have top notch service. I'll travel to Berns in Tampa or Ruth Chris at the Sundial for excellent service. My suggestion to the owners is to retrain your staff. take them all out to dinner at Berns to see how it works. read more

Looking good for what? I am very embarrassed to do reservation here for my two Special birthdays. my waitress Molly was awesome, trying to make us happy and did what she could. I appreciated it and thank you for the lady who I spoke to on the phone for confirmation and took notes on what I want. Thumbs up. After waiting PATIENTLY for 1hour 30min. and others who came ahead of us waited almost 2hours (especially coming out of work? And some drove from a long way) and hungry...,ALL of our food with dinner entrees, couple of sides, and dessert..NONE came out perfect the way they used to be. They were not even busy at all..there were only two couples inside with two tables and 9 of us in the patio. Maybe new chef? Recipe changes? or did we came out on the wrong night, lazy Sunday?? (7pm) I had the seafood gallery for 59, my lobster were raw, oyster's flat like a sheet of paper (never seen it like that before) , shrimp were over-done ..I seriously didn't know what I was eating.. I also order my fav. Side mac and cheese ..what happen? it was NOT the same what I had before. it was very different, I couldn't eat it. It look great sitting there. My jello- shot - 12 bucks, came out with 4 pudding shot and 3 shot of topping..garbaged, one small taste of each is good enough. It got worse than my last visit here. The cheesecakes 8 per piece, I had both came out spelling their names wrong when I already spelled it to the friendly waitress ,ordered ahead before two birthdays arrive. fail. Cheesecake is something else. I have no clue what it's made of. The rest they had salmon? Prime ribs and 6 steaks that came with a side of one 1/2 of tiny onion and one carrot cut in half for 39 & 49..went back to fix 2 juicy red steak when it suppose to be well done. Still rare when it came back out, another steak went home after few small sliced, 3 steaks were too hungry, what can u do. I understand my waitress want to make us happy and suggest to bring it back inside to microwave the rare ones but we didn't have time for that, it was getting late. My friend wouldn't mind eating it but the problem is, she pregnant. My other friend took it home, gave it to the dog, we didn't care anymore. Another steak were difficult to eat, decided to bring it home after 2-3 slices of it. I Mash potatoes barely touch (nothing special at all), asparagus side got send back to fixed..still not great. Rushed home, I threw up right away (taste the ocean haha!!) Overall, u won my first review. Priceless. The best part of this whole night while waiting for our food, we enjoy taking great pictures because this place is beautiful, great services with friendly servers/host and two birthday cards from them with their autographs were thoughtful. I could only recommend you is water, coke and their 5 slices of bread with butter. The staff at Rococo Steak hit it out of the park for our family recently. We went to honor a loved one who recently past and this was his favorite restaurant. Our reservation was mistakenly made for the wrong day, but when we arrived the staff stepped up and accompanied us. Then to top it off, the meal and service was off the charts excellent. This was a solid four. The food was absolute perfection but the experience left a lot to be desired in that it really wasn't an "experience". We were fed and on our way in less than an hour. I don't expect when I order food in a fine dining atmosphere that it will be on my table in less than 5 minutes which was the case with the carpaccio we ordered. As soon as we were done with that, our entrees were served. There was no time to relax, enjoy our drinks, etc. As long as they continue to hurry customers through in chain restaurant style, this place will never be a five. It's a real shame as the food was fantastic! I ordered the prime rib and Ben F ordered the filet...both were cooked exactly as we requested. My one complaint re the food was the size of the a la carte sides. I absolutely abhor food waste and these sides were large enough to feed a table of four; way too much for two people. read more

This was second visit to Rococo and I will most definitely be back. The first time we came in at an odd time, there was no one there and we just wanted to sit at the bar. The wait staff asked if we would like a tour of the place since it was slow. Sure! We got the full guided tour with a bit of history and it was just such a nice touch. We just had a couple and split an appetizer and left, but by the time we left the place was filling up nicely. Our 2nd visit was Saturday night, we decided to go out and watch one of the Final Four games. We decided that since it had been a questionable weather day we would opt for indoor dining. After throwing a few ideas around we decided to go to Rococo and try and garner a spot front and center at the bar for a good view of the TV. We were in luck, the bar was pretty full, but two seats beckoned us smack in front of the TV. Our waiter was right there with waters and asked if we had reservations for dinner. We said we were going to eat at the bar and he promptly set us up with placemats, silverware, napkins, etc. He took our drink order and I got the Ruby Red Martini and it was fantastic, it was garnished with a basil leaf which really made the flavor just pop. My companion got a vodka martini and was pleased. We ordered truffle fries, the fried lobster tail and a grass fed 10 oz. filet to share. First of all the truffle fries are just absolutely wonderful!!! We weren't really expecting much, but were so very pleased with them. Our deep fried lobster tail was HUGE! It was lightly breaded and very crisp outside but so tender, flaky and sweet inside. Our filet came out and they split it onto two plates for us. We ordered it Medium Rare and it was cooked to perfection. Tender, juicy and you could definitely taste the grass fed beef difference. Really top notch. The only reason for one less star, the prices are just a bit high. Our bill came to $128 and we split all of the food. However, it is very, very good food, with very good service and attentiveness. It was our choice to watch a basketball game at an expensive restaurant and it was worth it! I am a fan of Rococo for sure! I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and I must say, the dinner was spectacular. I recently started my career after graduation, but was a highly touted fine dining server in Miami (on this site as well as opentable), so I know what I am talking about when I say that our server, David, was one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of dining with. While it took a while to get to us initially (the room was packed) he more than made up for it with his personable nature and friendly service. On to the meal, I have dined at Ruth Chris', Berns, and Flemings multiple times, and this is still better steak and accompaniments than I have had anywhere else. We had carpaccio and the spicy Caesar salad, and they were both perfectly flavored, not too intense but exquisitely prepared. For the steaks, I ordered the ribeye and my girlfriend got the grass-fed filet- the filet melted in your mouth and the ribeye was perfectly marbled and incredibly flavorful- both were cooked perfectly as well. Even the quinoi side dish was incredible. For dessert we got the creme brulee, and I could not have asked for a better capstone for our meal. Also, don't forget the massive wine menu (it even includes a table of contents) so you can try literally any varietal you could possibly want. All in all, it was the perfect evening with the best food, service, and overall experience I could have ever hoped for. I will definitely return, as I believe this is my new go to restaurant for special occasions. If I could give 6* I would! BRAVO! read more
