Check it out before it's gone! The Chattaway has been around since 1933, and you can feel the charm; it's flower-filled, cozy, and full of character. The grouper sandwich and sweet potato fries were fantastic, and the long picnic tables made it easy to enjoy live music and chat with others. Friendly service and a beautiful day made it even better! Loved it!

My Airbnb host recommended The Chattaway so I had lunch there recently. It's a quirky place with lots of plants and flowers in old clawfoot bathtubs. Service was quick, friendly, and not overly attentive but definitely there. I ordered the Cheese Chattaburger, and it was delicious. This is a cash only business; no credit cards (which I prefer).

First time trying the high tea here and loved it! Making a reservation and selecting our sandwiches was very easy. The beautiful tea room really elevates the whole experience, and they seated us next to the electric fireplace which was nice and toasty. My friend and I initially planned to also split a burger, but the spread turned out to be more than enough for the two of us. The staff was lovely, everything was set beautifully and ready for us upon arrival, and they didn't mind us staying long after we finished our meal as we had a lot to catch up on. This is the perfect venue for a catch-up with friends, or a fun experience if you have anyone visiting. We plan to have tea here once a quarter as a treat moving forward! Only suggestions would be to incorporate a little more protein, and possibly a teapot koozie as our tea got cool quickly.

Wow! I genuinely feel like I was transported to England right from St Pete. The Chattaway's tea service is a must in St Pete. We enjoyed raspberry tea, tea sandwiches, and desserts. Reservation is required and the restaurant is cash only. The staff was so friendly and put so much care into decorating the tea room. If you are looking for a unique experience, this is one to try!

I did some research and found the Chattaway so that my Mama and I could go there for high tea. You wouldn't expect a tearoom from the outside eclectic look. There are koi as you walk over the bridge into the outdoor eating area where you can order off the menu. Once told we were there for tea we were ushered inside to a room transformed into London. Wedgewood china circled the top of the room. There were lots of teacups and London decor. We were offered a choice of hot teas-we chose peach-it was fragrant and delicious! Then they brought out the tiers-one of scones and crumpets, one of sandwiches-you choose 3-we choose egg salad, cucumber, and shrimp salad. They were all really good! And then a macaroon and small fudgey brownie. They provided clotted cream, lemon curd, and strawberry preserves. We had a lovely time and everyone who worked there was very kind. Please be aware-they only accept cash or Venmo but there is an atm on site.

**** Review 138 **** Came here on a recommendation from a long time local. The restaurant has a great outdoor ambiance, I believe they've won awards from the city of St. Pete for their decor. Staff was very friendly and the service was relatively quick for how many people were there at lunch time. I had the Original Cheese Chattaburger, upgraded to a double for $7 more. Normally you get fries, Coleslaw or chips, but I also upgraded to a cup of the Lobster Chowder for an additional $5. Besides the friendly and fast staff, the only other thing I somewhat enjoyed was the lobster chowder. The chowder had good flavor, but no lobster in sight. I'm not quite sure if it's supposed to be made with real lobster, lobster flavoring or such finely chopped lobster that it's hard to tell that it's in the cup. The burger was a huge letdown, the patties were flavorless and you can tell they are the frozen store bought kind. This was definitely not the quality you should be getting when spending $20 on just the burger. Lastly, the beer was barely cold, at almost $8 a glass the beer needs to be cold and refreshing. While the ambiance and staff were good, this unfortunately does not change the fact that the food was subpar (at best) and over priced. FYI: they only accept cash.

What a charming establishment! It is like having a touch of England right here in St Petersburg. The inside is absolutely charming! We were looking for outside seating, but popped inside to take a leak. There was a group of ladies having "tea" (love it!). The outside was equally as charming; reminiscent of an English garden. The food was delicious! I think they just may be the best in St Pete. The grouper was also quite tasty ! The service was good. Everything arrived at the table quickly and correctly. This is a cash only venue.

Here is the high tea room with the well-designed presentation.

I haven't tried the regular menu, but I have consistently appreciated the high tea service which is served in a special room which has artifacts of the British monarchy. The meal is excellent and everyone there is attentive. I always ask for vegetarian items and the staff is helpful and accommodating to my requests. This is a great place to impress a guest with the elegant presentation. The owner also stops by to chat and has some clever remarks. Be sure to bring cash since they don't take credit cards. I plan to return whenever I am in the area.

The food was pretty good, and service was decent although our waiter was a bit rude. They were out of a lot of things we wanted, but what we got was still good. It is a very cute outdoor environment with lots of fun decor.

We arrived at 5:30 and it was packed, but a table opened for us within two minutes. The ambiance was awesome, with each table having its own miniTV! Guests didn't have to choose between watching Wimbledon or the World Cup (or anything else they chose). Such a clever idea and probably great for entertaining kids, too. The server was prompt and friendly, and we got our drinks and app ordered immediately. We split the corn dog as an appetizer (felt right for 4th of July), and my husband declared it was one of the best he ever had. A great ratio of the sweet fried dough and salty hot dog. Definitely a reasonable portion to split as an appetizer and still have room for an entree. We got the tomato and corn salad as a side, which was a nice palate cleanser. I got the bacon cheeseburger (sub a pretzel bun, which you can absolutely do) and my husband got the Van Helsing. Both were excellent. He got regular fries and I got sweet potato fries and a side salad, also fantastic. My meal was exactly what I wanted - a classically delicious cheeseburger (I removed the bacon and put it on my side salad, which I highly recommend). My husband's had perfectly cooked garlic cloves and a nice zest with the jalapeños. They also had a great tap list to go wash everything down! We left stuffed but not feeling like we were going to die. It was a wonderful experience for start to finish and we'll be back!

The staff was incredibly welcoming from the moment I walked in. Since it was my first visit, they took the time to explain the menu and recommend some of their favorites. After hearing about it, I decided to try The Black Pearl burger with a side of fries. The Black Pearl is perfect if you enjoy mushrooms on your burger. Every bite was juicy, flavorful, and satisfying without being overly heavy. The combination of flavors worked really well together, and I can definitely see why it's one of their signature burgers. The fries were thick, hot, and paired nicely with the meal. The restaurant itself was clean, had a great atmosphere, and made for a fun late-night stop. While I really enjoyed my meal, it didn't quite reach that unforgettable level that earns a 9 or 10 from me. It was a solid burger, great customer service, and an enjoyable experience overall. Overall Rating: 7/10. Would I come back? Absolutely. There's still plenty on the menu I'd like to try, and I always believe every restaurant deserves more than one visit.
