    House salad

All other reviews are exactly right, this place was incredible and honestly one of the best steaks I've had. We came around 6p and had about a 30 min wait, they don't take reservations and there's about 50 seats so be ready to wait especially on a busy day. The salad comes with balsamic vinaigrette and they do have another dressing, I think it was bleu cheese but can't remember for sure. It was a really good salad but I highly recommend asking for the dressing on the side because it was drenched. The rolls were really well flavored, nice salty/garlicky topping and served warm. The ribeye was cooked perfect medium rare and the baked potato was piping hot with butter and sour cream. Lacked a bit of flavor but they have salt and pepper on the table. I got the Gorgonzola sauce and can confirm it's famous for a reason. $6 is a bit egregious for the saucer you get of it but I'd buy it time and time again. My husband said the lobster was the best he'd had and it was cooked to be perfectly tender. Garlic potatoes and filet were both well flavored and the steak was cooked well. We were seated outside and they had heaters but if there's a cold snap definitely come prepared to be cold as the porch is basically a breeze thru lol. Service was okay, nothing spectacular and they weren't the most friendly but we got everything we needed.

Still as great as ever! Better than Ruth's and at half the price. All remodeled after the hurricane and they have indoor and outdoor seating with space heaters if it's cold. We both got their Rib Eyes which melt in your mouth with a perfect Char. Service is terrific and just a very well run restaurant. Every time we are in the area it's our go to restaurant along with their sister restaurant Snappers.

Haven't been to 1200 Chop in over a year. It did not disappoint! Lucked out with only a 45 minute wait so we had some beers on the patio. We were seated at the bar and the service was prompt and friendly even with the restaurant being packed. The dinner salad was delicious and came with bread service. The filet was cooked perfectly--mine medium rare, my partners medium. The bartender suggested his favorite Pinot noir of the few they have. Finished dinner with some crème brûlée which was very good. Two filet Oscar's, two wines, a beer, and a brûlée came to around $134 (without tip) which is pretty reasonable since everywhere is so expensive now.

OMG! This is the best steakhouse we have ever eaten at. We are from Dallas, Texas and it surpasses Texas steakhouses!! They have a private parking lot, which is great. They don't take reservations but we got 2 seats at the bar, which were great!! They only serve beer and wine. The house cab was actually really good! Our servers, Christopher and Elijah were amazing! They go above and beyond for exceptional service!! The head chef, Chase is above amazing. Our food was exceptional! Dewayne, in the kitchen, was on point! From the rolls and butter, to my 1/2 wedge blue cheese salad (which is plenty) and super delicious. We both ordered the 7 oz filet, medium, which was perfect & you could cut with your fork!! So tender and juicy!!! I got the mashed potatoes and my husband got a baked potato. Everything was cooked perfectly. I also ordered sautéed mushrooms & onions. They were so good & hot. A plus to my steak. This is a very intimate and amazing steakhouse. If you are in St. Pete's, you have to have dinner here!! It is top notch.

FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE FIVE STAR FOOD Its like the little engine that could. They have been here for around 12 years now, they are extremely small, the waiters work in a frenzy to make sure everyone is taken care of. I LOVE how cramped this restaurant is. It makes it feel so much more exclusive this way. The interior is really really cute. There are tables immediately outside in the deck area. Not many. A few tables. This restaurant gets full quickly but its so worth the wait. My mother and I took a little trip to St Pete's Beach and the surrounding areas just to get out of our comfort zone and live life a little. Although I'm not a big fan of St. Petes Beach, there are areas that are great, but.. overall.. I don't think I will be moving there anytime soon.. I think there are quite a few restaurants and other businesses that are doing a fantastic job with their locals and tourists. What was great about this restaurant is that even though it caters to tourists it didn't feel touristy.. if that makes any sense. My mother and I had the exact same dish, Filet Mignon and baked potato and cooked spinach... the starter was included with the meal..everybody got it... its a gorgonzola, walnut, cranberries, vinagrette salad.. you know which one I'm talking about... and based on the salad (which is their teaser dish)... I just knew the food was going to be good. Expect to wait 30 minutes or less. It's not bad...but its so worth it.

truffle fries are the best I've ever had

Beyond 5 stars and better than most steakhouses I have been to. Yes, better than Bern's if we are talking about food quality. I will say it is a small venue and here is the kicker - they don't take reservations. You MUST get there 30+ minutes before they open to get a table. And even then, you are not guaranteed to get a table. My friends and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and arrived on their patio at 4:30pm (they opened at 5pm). There was a line within minutes. We were luckily seated inside and served immediately. All I have to say is order every appetizer because nothing disappointed and the steaks cannot be beat. Scallop appetizer - best scallops I've ever had. Truffle fries - you can't beat that flavor and for $10? MUST GET. The NY strip was beyond perfect and it lasted me 3 meals as leftovers. The food was too good. You have to give this place a try. But also, don't tell anyone because it's really good and those of us who know don't want you taking our tables! LOL

    Pork Chop, absolutely delicious!!

This fits the bill!!! That said, aside from the ambience, the food selection was pretty decent! My daughter-in-law and I went to Teak at 11 AM for brunch/lunch on a Wednesday. We wanted to grab a bite before an appointment that I had nearby in Saint Petersburg. The weather was fantastic. The view was beautiful. Stunning! Whoever scouted this spot was spot on! The service was outstanding. I felt accommodated and checked on from the host to our server to the manager coming by personally to greet us. Impressive. I had a mocktail which was a little sweet for me but my DIL had a mixed drink (No Mock) and she loved it. I ordered the coconut shrimp (which was really good, the presentation was amazing!, I wish that the popcorn would have been just made because my greedy self wanted to eat it too!) I also ordered fish and chips which, honestly, I was being greedy! It's a huge portion. You need to have a healthy appetite for that dish. Personally, it was a little too heavily battered for my taste and also I had somewhere to be and that meal is a wrap it up I'm done for the day type meal. One hundred percent this spot is a vibe. I would absolutely recommend checking it out. I don't know how it is at nighttime but it was lovely around the time we went, nice and peaceful. I will definitely go here again. By the way, there's a transportation trolley/bus every 15 from the parking area to the end of the boardwalk which is about a 7-10 min walk if you aren't counting your steps!

It was our first time dining there, but it definitely will not be the last! Few things to note before you go. Definitely make a reservation! It's not a large space, but it is a popular one, so you want to plan ahead. Also, parking is a bit limited, so using a ride share wouldn't hurt. Lastly, come hungry! The portions are generous, and if you're going as a date night destination, the options on the "Secret Menu" for dinners for 2 include wedge salads, sides for the steaks, and dessert. All that said, we knew the minute we walked in that we were in for a good time. The atmosphere is cozy, casual, and distinctively Chicago, with dark wood everywhere, red accents, and vintage photos and prints all over the walls. It's a feast for the eyes to go along with the feast for your stomach! Though we arrived a little early, we were seated right away. They knew we were celebrating an anniversary, so they spread rose petals on our table! Our server, Angelo, was exemplary--professional, attentive, and full of great recommendations, the most important of which was recommending that we order the Chateaubriand off the Secret Menu. Everything it came with -- the wedge salads with homemade dressing, the sides, the red wine reduction to drizzle on the steak, and the mini cannolis at the end -- were delicious. Aside from cocktails, we didn't need to order anything else! Speaking of cocktails, Beau's Old Fashioned is one you can't not order if you love bourbon and bourbon drinks. However, I was even more impressed with "The Chicago Man." Try it at your own risk, though - it packs a punch. All that said, we can't wait to go back. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean!

Our particular server was friendly but perhaps not cut out for being a server. Started off with the carpaccio and bread service. The dipping sauce for the bread is by far the star of this show. My understanding is that it's one of the staples that connect this place to Cafe Cibo. I can see why. It's amazing! They really ought to jar it up and sell it. I'd likely buy a whole case of it. I went with the pork chop for the main and it was ordered at medium temperature. It was way over charred and black (see picture). Although still quite most and flavorful it wasn't prepared correctly at all. The sides were good. In summary the service was slow, the food wasn't prepared correctly, and the service was far too slow on a non busy night. I'm glad I tried it but I don't think I'll be back any time soon. There are far better valued places in the area. It was a regrettable $300 dinner but c'est la vie.
