I took my 2024 Chevy Blazer to Rod Hatfield Chevrolet for a routine oil change and tire rotation. When I dropped the vehicle off, it had no scratches. When I picked it up and got home, I discovered significant scratches that were not there before. I contacted the dealership immediately, expecting them to investigate and make it right. Over the course of several days, we reviewed photos and security footage. The service director acknowledged that both my photos and the dealership's intake images showed there was no damage when I brought the vehicle in. However, the footage of the vehicle leaving the service bay was too poor in quality to prove the scratches were not already there when it left the dealership. Despite admitting there was no damage when I dropped the vehicle off and having no clear evidence showing otherwise when it left, the dealership refused to accept responsibility or help resolve the issue. As a result, I'm now facing a $2,500 repair bill. I understand that accidents can happen. This is a review for the service department - we have not purchased from here. We get our 2019 Chevy Volt serviced here. Pros: - Excellent customer service. If you have an issue and express a concern to them, they will make honest efforts to solve it for you. They are always professional when speaking. They use a text service to keep you updated and will even check in on you after you've taken it home to make sure you're satisfied. - Quality work. They know what they are doing and will solve your problem. Cons: - Expensive. Yes, car service is expensive in general, but they are probably still on the higher end for cost, but I guess that's the trade off for knowing you're getting work done right - Busy. They take in a lot of vehicles and aren't always quick returning your vehicle. However, when we had an issue with a vehicle taking longer than expected, we talked to the tech and he got it expedited. read more

Took my 2024 chevy 1500 3.0 L for repair . Issue was the coolant pump would set a code and de- rate the engine. I had to get home so I disconnect the wire harness from the pump and found lots of corrosion in the plug and the pump. The dealer came back and stated that this is not covered under warranty since I removed the connector and found the issue. I had GM care involved . Bottom line was I left the dealer and Paid for diagnostic time . I took my truck to another dear ship in Pairs . They got me in right away and called me and stated that the truck is ready for pick up . This will be under warranty to change the harness and pump but they had to order the part but it will take about 2-3 wks . The dealer called me once the part came in and repaired the truck. I called back to Hatfield and left a message for the General Manager and I was told the note will go right onto his desk. No call back or credit me for the amount I had to Pay that I should of not had to. I have been in the marine industry since 1989 , tech till 2012, became service manager and took care of all the warranty claims . This is not the dealer I would go to for any warranty repairs. If you own a Chevrolet Volt with the Shift to Park issue, do not bring it to this dealership. They will not follow the service bulletin for the issue and will try to make you pay for the service out of pocket instead of under the Voltec warranty. I unfortunately brought my car in for the issue since I thought there was no way they could screw this up. After 3 weeks of being provided misinformation and having to educate their staff, they still refused to follow the service bulletin. I was then forced to pay the diagnostic fee and do the warranty service myself. It only took 30 minutes and $20 but I no longer had the issue or the code they used as justification to avoid doing the correct repair. The level of service provided raises either incompetence or ethical concerns since 5 minutes of inspection would have verified my issue correctly. The fact that 5 minutes of looking at the part in question would have confirmed the warranty repair was necessary means that the $200 you pay for a "diagnostic" is most likely them just pulling a code. On top of all this, when I dropped my car off for repair, I notified Brian that my tire had a slow leak and needed patched. Nothing was noted in the service order about the leak. After the service department manager again provided more misinformation to me about my issue, they had to then go put air into the tire in order to drive out to me. After 2 bad experiences in a row with this dealership and warranty repairs, I've decided I no longer want to own a car that requires this dealership to provide warranty repairs on and we've moved on. This review is for the service department. My husband would regularly take his truck to get serviced here for oil changes without issue. Until one day he had to get his brakes serviced, he took the truck in, told him it would be ready later that day (he would always take the truck as soon as they opened). It was getting close to closing and my husband called to check the status of the truck, they told him it would be ready until the next day. This was not what he was told and my husband told them he needed his truck since he works out of town a lot. They told him they would leave his keys in the sales department and he could pick it up from there. Well big mistake, after driving this truck he started having brake issues, and he started to get a warning saying that the breaks need servicing. It got to a point where he was driving and the truck would not break. I guess they rushed everything or maybe they didn't even do the job right. He went back to tell them what happened and they said the truck was fine. The sensors are now messed up and we're having to take the truck somewhere else to get checked because of their negligence. read more

Unfortunately the bad reviews for the service department are well earned. I brought my EV in for a tire rotation and recall repair. They kept it overnight for the recall. Somehow they messed up my vehicle's communication module in the recall software install which means that my GPS and Supercruise are non-functional. Called OnStar and they told me I have to bring it back to these people to fix their mistake. Created a whole situation where I am trapped on a Tesla charger because my car cant communicate with the MyChevrolet app to stop the charge or manage charging. I've got an extremely high tech car that barely functions, no OnStar capability (that is a subscription I pay for), and now I'm trapped on a Tesla charger paying for a full 100% charge because there's no way I can safely stop the charge. Costing me money out of pocket and disabling multiple amenities I paid for - thanks a lot, Rod Hatfield. Avoid this service department, unfortunately I have to go back to them and hope they actually fix the issues they caused me. read more

I brought my 2007 HD2500 here after getting an engine light while on a trip from TX. Chris was helpful and got my truck diagnosed the next day and said it would be 5-7 days for parts. The code had been cleared and could be driven locally. When parts came in I brought the truck back and three days later it was done. When I got home the following was sent to Chris: I can't tell you how disappointed I am in the work received at Hatfield Chevrolet. Before I got home I had oil leaks in the EGR cooler and air intake areas. These parts were removed to do the work on the Fuel Injector pump. My total cost to have the oil leaks fixed was $712.62 parts and labor. The dealership here says the failure is because the gasket was mispositioned when the EGR Cooler was put back on. Clearly this was caused during the repair of the truck by the tech and confirmed by the dealer here. My service advisor here would be willing to discuss this with you if you would like. His name is ........... I feel I was taken advantage being a customer broke down while out of town. Your price on the pump # 97780161 was 1756.99. That same pump at my Chevrolet dealer is 1415.28 msrp I feel your dealership owes me money for the repair of the oil leak 712.62 and the difference in the pump prices $341.71 for a total of $ 1054.33 I would like this to be addressed with the Service Manager and General Manager. Attached are photos that show the mispositioned gasket and the sensor that was put in and the wires stretched and were bare on the connector. The dealership assumed no responsibility for the gasket that was not installed correctly or for any other part of the repair. They did admit I should have been given a $200.00 core credit and a check would be sent in 7-10 days. 25 days later after calling them again I have been told my credit card will be credited 200.00 These photos except the one on the white paper towel were sent to Chris, reviewed by their tech who took no responsibility for his work. They would not do anything to credit me for paying another dealership to fix their work. My car wouldn't start (was a recurring issue) on a Tuesday morning. Had it towed to Rod Hatfield that same morning, guy I spoke to (Brian) was very friendly and was going to take care of it... didn't hear anything until the next day and they hadn't even looked at my car. I called consistently for updates and they STILL hadn't looked at it until a week later when I told them I'd take it somewhere else to get fixed. Took 4 days for the parts to come in and then they were quick to fix my car. Again, very friendly just did NOT communicate well with me the first week. Several months ago, I went into Rod Hatfield for a routine oil change. I went into the waiting room and a few minutes later, they came in to get me claiming that I had come in with a busted coolant outlet. They said that my car had been spraying coolant all over when I came in. This seemed fishy to me, as I did not smell coolant and did not see anything spraying from my car prior to this visit. They said that the coolant hose was cracked, which is pretty common in a Chevy Cruze...but I felt pretty certain that I had not come in with it cracked. My gut feeling was that the mechanic busted something and charged me for it - but knowing little about cars, I had no choice but to pay for it. I paid for a new hose and asked them to show me what was going on and give me the part. At that point, I was already pretty upset and feeling taken advantage of. Fast forward a couple months, and my fiance and I were on a trip out of state for the holidays. About 2 hours into our drive, we stopped at a gas station, and lo and behold - the car is spewing coolant. It was completely undrivable, so we had to get a hotel room so we could get the car serviced at a Firestone in the morning. Turns out this coolant outlet is broken...the one Rod Hatfield Chevy fixed?? Weird... So again, this all seems fishy... Today, I took my car into a Jiffy Lube, because I am absolutely NEVER taking my car back to Rod Hatfield, and about 5 minutes into the oil change, the manager comes in and asks, "Who normally changes your oil?" So I tell him that Rod Hatfield Chevrolet last changed my oil, and he responds to me saying that my oil plug is completely worn down, having been screwed into the tank with at least 50 pounds of pressure. He goes on to say that the plug, according to Chrevrolet regulations, should only be screwed in with about 10 pounds of pressure. They had to use a different tool to get the plug off and had to replace it. Thankfully, they did that for free. Circling back to the beginning of all this, I now feel pretty convicted in my feelings that Rod Hatfield Chevy screwed something up in my car. At very least, they have proven that they can't follow regulations with a routine oil change, so why should I believe they didn't also crack my coolant outlet? If I could give them zero stars, I would. I will ABSOLUTELY be recommending that anyone I know AVOID ROD HATFIELD. I would rather walk everywhere than get my car serviced there again. read more

RIPOFF WARNING! HUCKSTER ALERT! If you're the type that loves getting ripped off, I can't recommend ROD HATFIELD CHEVROLET enough. This is the run-down lot on North New Circle with the big, dumb chicken in a truck out front. Fowl/Foul...pretty much sums up our experience, and after reading how many bad reviews these clowns have online, I can only say we should've checked before we stepped in the cow pie. My wife took her Monte Carlo there to be serviced. Bewildered, they took 5 days to diagnose it and told her it would be ready on a Thursday, about a week after we dropped it off. They wound up dragging their feet and keeping it yet another week and a half. When asked if they were going compensate her in any way, as she had to use another car for two weeks, and especially after all of the texts they sent, they acted like we were nuts for asking. There would be no making right their poor and shoddy service. A guy named Russ Rogers dealt with us. "I can't make those decisions...that's above me," he kept saying, like a pre-recorded message. He finally said he'd talk to his superior, a Jeff Ramey, who wouldn't deign to talk to us personally over the next few days, but just sent Russ back to tell us he was unyielding in his right to give crap service. It's patently obvious all the staff have been trained in the same way, what they used to call in sales "Big Smiles, Small Service." You nod, play nice, listen intently, make screwed-over customers feel heard, but never give fair service or professional courtesy for inconveniences or sloppy, subpar work, if it means you'll be out a dime. A lot of businesses in Lexington have gone out over the years for this same narrow-minded, greed-based, morally bankrupt approach. They refused to give my wife anything for the extra time they kept her car, and messily glued the rubber guard ring around the ignition, dripping glue everywhere. It looks like a drunk child did it. They also gave and charged for an alignment we never asked for or approved. Her car has new growling and pinging sounds, too, since she got it back, which means they'll have to look at it again. It's doubtful they'll claim any responsibility, as they're not service-minded. It's a waste of time arguing with people determined to be crooked, anyway. We even called Chevy Corporate, trying to get them to govern their own people, but they passed the buck. I asked them why they were willing to give their name to a craphouse like HATFIELD, when there were so many complaints and obvious criminal behavior all over social media. They just don't care as long as the ill-gotten gains are gotten. If you don't recognize it by the story-high cock, just look for a bunch of people coming out with lighter wallets and sore behinds. Every other Chevrolet dealership that I've had my car serviced with has been great. The price they tell you is what is charged. Here they advertise an oil change for $59.45, alignment for $99.95 and when you go to pay they tack on an environmental surcharge fee of $20.72, document retention fee of $1.95 and of course tax. I think I'll stick with Dan Cummins or Jack Buford's where the price you're quoted is the price you pay at the end. And while they didn't have the seal at that time, they ordered it for us. Shane kept me informed during the whole process and did an amazing job. Sales experience was a mess. Salesman left before done to go to another dealership, we were told the dealership would cover our taxes due on our trade ins. Normally that's not part of a deal and we were ecstatic that they were willing to do that for us. Now 45 days later they say they won't and have stated they have no recollection of that being promised. Dealer will make promises just to get you to sign and then ignore their promises. Go to Dan Cummins or any other dealership. They do not care if you worked there, bought 2 brand new cars at once there, ordered accessories there. They completely ignore you once a sale is completed. Believe the bad reviews for this dealership. To Make a long story short, I had a blown tire and took the rim and tire to the dealership to get a new one mounted on the rim. I just dropped off the rim/tire so they didn't need to take the tire off or put it back on. The service manager (Bruce) asked me how I wanted the tire mounted and I told him with the white lettering to the outside to match my other tires. They even had me pull my vehicle up to the express lane so they could get information on the vehicle so there is no way they could have misinterpreted how the tire should have been mounted. I was charged 1/3 more than what I was quoted to mount and balance a tire. Mostly due to shop fees??? I was charged for the tire and to mount and balance, how much shop expense above that can there actually be? Aside from the added cost, I picked up the tire after the service department was closed. However, they mounted the tire with lettering on the opposite side of the rim. I don't live locally so it's impractical for me to bring it back to fix. The local dealership service leadership, was unwilling to make it right. The Director of the dealership was also unwilling to make it right. They said I was lying about my instructions for them to mount the tire with the lettering on the outside. How could they miss it when they even had the vehicle to look at? Now I need to take the rim/tire somewhere else to have it done correctly. The total cost just for one tire was over $400, the cost of the tire was just over $300. I guess I'm out the extra $100 it costs me for the mount/balance of the tire and the "shop fees". Lesson learned. Don't buy or have your vehicle serviced at this dealership. read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. I brought my car in for a body issue with the car door. They said they "temporarily" fixed it with this door glue. They also fixed my taillight and told me they checked my check-engine light and there were no other problems. It's cost me $265. Not a big deal since $160 of that was for the diagnostic fee that everyone has to pay for them to even look at your car. THEN 5 days later my ABS light and Stabilitrak light comes on. So I call them back and ask if I would have to pay that diagnostic fee of $160 again since they just checked my car last week. They said no and to bring it in. Perfect! I thought... So I bring it back in and it takes them 2 whole days just to read my check engine light because our computers weren't "compatible." However they told me they had no problem with my computer last week when they checked my engine....?? Or did they even do that last week?? Anyway they call me back after 2 days and tell me my wheel baring is going to cost $650!! I'm a young girl in college and I think they thought they would just trick me into thinking that's how much a wheel baring cost to fix. But I did some research and it should only cost $350. So I told them nicely, "no thank you, I don't have the money to fix that right now but I will come get my car." They also explained again that it would be free with no diagnostic since I just brought it in last week. Nice!! So I thought... So I get there to pick up my keys and they try to charge me $160 for absolutely nothing!! They pulled up my record from the week before and showed me that I "for some reason" wasn't charged a diagnostic fee the week before?? So I had to pay it now! Even though they told me multiple times that I had paid that. And there would be no way I would have agreed to paying $265 for car door glue! I argued with them for 30 minutes and then the guy said "okay we will charge you only $440 if you let us fix your car here and not with someone else." I said 440 is still a scam! So FINALLY they gave me my car back. Bottom line: they try to take advantage of you if you don't know anything about cars or basic business finances. Do not go here. The transmission went out on my 2003 Chevy Silverado on a long trip from Ohio to my home in Jamestown, Ky on sunday night causing me to spend the night in a hotel in Lexington. Truck would not go past 2nd gear. After explaining my emergency situation, Russ jumped right into action to accommodate me and get his transmission guy right on it. By noon we had the diagnosis. A few weeks ago I called at 9am asking about a specific car. The lady on the phone said they had it. I told her it was a 3 hour drive for me to get there. I texted her a few times through the day and I called her at 2pm as I was leaving my house. I told her it would be 3 hrs before I got there. She was like be safe, see you soon.. so 3 hrs later I get to the car lot only to find they had sold that specific vehicle early that morning before I even left my house. I took my car here because it was leaking coolant in December. They told me that it was the valve cover, so they fixed it. Well, a month ago, it started leaking oil - a lot. I took it to Short's and they told me it was the valve cover that Rod Hatfield supposedly fixed but had stripped the bolts. When I took it a second time for Rod Hatfield to make their mistake right, they said they fixed it and didn't do anything to it, in addition to telling me things needed to be fixed that didn't. took it back to Short's and he fixed everything that was wrong, quoted me $1500 less and were so honest and respectful. Our Chevy Equinox 2013 started shaking really bad so my husband took to Rod Hatfield. They fixed what they thought was the problem. They gave us a high dollar tune up. $2700.00 tune up didn't solve the problem. My husband called to let them know that didn't fix the problem. They had kept our vehicle 5 days. My husband took it back out there and they kept it 3 days and still couldn't find a problem so my husband just went and picked it up. We took it to Exhaust Pro and told the mechanic there about a smell and the shaking. He knew exactly what the problem was without have to keep our vehicle. I took my Corvette in for an electrical problem that was causing my car to die within hours as-well as an oil leak. I TRUSTED these people enough to not hesitate to pay the 175$ inspection. I received a call a day later saying I had a 1,600$ Electrical short. I ALMOST paid it had it not been for the 6,000$ OIL LEAK quote. Upon taking it to an old friend he instantly told me my dome light was switched on causing my car to die. Each time I was told that my service advisor (Richie?) would call me back, who never called me back. I finally called for a 5th time right before closing and spoke to Bryan who was incredibly rude. He told me that he wouldn't be able to guarantee they would look at my car before monday and that was just a 40% chance it would be looked at monday. I asked if they would provide me a loaner and he said I would have to pay $50 a day. I asked what the point of the appointment was if they weren't going to look at it for 5 days and he said the appointment was only to get "a place in line". He was rude and unprofessional. I don't know how they stay in business if people have to wait 5 days just to look at the vehicle before ordering parts and doing the actual labor. I will never be back. I ended up just telling them to forget it and went and picked up my vehicle. I took it to another Chevrolet dealership who took excellent care of me, so it's clearly an issue with this one. read more

I was in Lexington over the weekend visiting my father in law. He has been looking to purchase a new car and one that he likes is the Chevy Spark. He is on a fixed income but does have enough money saved back to make a cash purchase. Rod Hatfield had one listed on their website for $15965.00. I got all the information together for him to call and start the process. He even put $1000.00 down as the card was in transit. Rod Hatfield got the purchase agreement together and some how the car went from $16 thousand to over $22 thousand. I called the dealer and actually talked to the sales person that was working the deal and she informed me that they added $2500.00 market adjustment to the price of the car. Well my father in law might have been born on a pumpkin truck but it wasn't yesterday. Now he has to jump through hoops to get his money back. There are no days that end in Y that you should pay more then MSRP for a car. DO NOT BUY FROM A DEALER THAT TRYS TO SELL OVER MSRP. Shame on you Rod Hatfield !!!!!!!! read more

This review is for Rod Hatfield's service department. We all know car trouble isn't fun. We can only hope to have the problems taken care of correctly and promptly. My daughter's car had to have a new transmission under an extended warranty plan. Chris in the service department literally texted me every day giving me updates on where we were in the process. Not only that, but knowing the transmission tech was going to be out for a couple of days for training, they expedited the process to get the car finished before he left. This was the second time dealing with their service department, as I had to have work done on my Silverado as well. I know where I'm taking my vehicles from now on. read more

Horrible customer service! Purchased a car there and then wanted to talk to the person that handled the financing to discuss cancelling the warranty I had added on. He was terribly rude, constantly talked over me and ended up hanging up on me. Possibly because if I cancel the warranty he loses his commission?? I actually never should have purchased the car to begin with because it was misrepresented. But I was in a bind, had rented a tow dolly to pull the car back to the city I live in so.........overall, dealership is poorly managed. I had recently had my car worked on at home and then was on road for business. The engine light and another light came which came down to cylinder misfiring. I ended up taking my car into Hatfield Chevrolet to be looked at and didn't have an appointment. I was greeted promptly upon entering service bay and spoke with Russel who I'd spoke with prior to bringing the car in. The technician was able to diagnose and repair the issue in under two hours which meant I'd be able to make my dinner appointment in West Virginia. I had no further issues on the trip or getting home later that week. Great staff and professionalism displayed the entire time with my encounter with the dealership! read more
