Horrible place. So I wanted to plan a little get away from home with just me and my dog and leave the wife and kids at home. And this place is absolutely disgusting. Heroin needles all over the ground used condoms and heroin wax paper baggies all over the place. I've seen at least 6 people since I've been here the past 2 days park in the parking lot with a needle in their arm and just discard the used needle in the parking lot.. so I check into my room and my ice bucket has mold and some slime substance in the bucket my sink has a huge gaping hole next to the drain so when I wash my hands water soaks the floor. The toilet doesn't flush very good and when I tried to get a refund and told them I wanted my money back they told me they offer no refunds and basically told me I was screwed. Also I booked this room on booking.com and it said it was pet friendly and I already paid the pet fees which was an additional 20 dollars a night. They tried charging my debit card again and told me that they never charged me for the pet fee even though I know for a fact they did. Decent hotel for travelers passing by. The GOOD: I'm impressed with the breakfast here. You can have a fresh waffle, sausage, egg patties and toast. There is also jam, cream cheese, and butter for toppings. Drink options include coffee, milk, and different juices. It's good stuff. The rooms themselves are fine. It had everything that you needed to sleep and shower for the night. It was fine for what I needed. Pricing is very decent for what you get. Free Wifi. The BAD: The only thing I didn't like was the bed... I did not find it particularly comfortable. I had trouble sleeping on it and I usually am not that picky about beds. If I could leave a zero star review I would. This was hands down the most disgusting motel I have EVER stepped foot in. I had chosen this establishment based on the reviews I read that said it was a nice, affordable, and *clean* business. Those reviews could not be further from the truth. Immediately when we parked, my boyfriend and I had a bad feeling about this place but decided to check in anyway, just in case the rooms looked better on the inside than the outside. Firstly, the elevator was not working and our room was supposed to be on the third floor. I am disabled, so climbing 3 flights of steps is extremely hard on my body. I had indicated this to the woman at the front desk, but was told the third floor was the only available room. As we climbed the stairs to our room, there was a very distinct smell of cat pee, which could also indicate that someone is smoking or making meth. There were obviously strung out people in the hallways and kids running around unsupervised. Once we got to our room as soon as we opened the door, a strong and unpleasant smell greeted us like a slap in the face. It smelled like smoke, mold, and stale air that someone didn't even bother to try and cover the stench of. The floors looked like they had not been cleaned since the day they were installed. The bed was absolutely disgusting. There were cigarette burns and mystery stains all over the comforter. The 2 pillows looked like someone had just pulled them from a dumpster and tossed on the bed, they were obviously dirty, grey, and flat. The bed also had evidence that there may be a bed bug infestation though I cannot confirm that, but I would not be surprised in the least if there were bed bugs (and more) in the Rodeway Inn. Neither my boyfriend nor myself felt comfortable even setting our belongings down on ANY surface in the room for fear that we would be leaving with some uninvited guests. We have both stayed in lots of motels over our lives and we both agreed that this was hands down the worst motel either of us had ever been in. We stayed in the room for less than 10 minutes, we were weighing our options to see if we could tolerate the room for one night and ultimately decided that the room was too disgusting for us to sleep in or spend any amount of time in. After leaving, we both felt itchy and gross after stepping foot in that room. Combined with everything we had seen on our way to our room, we mutually agreed that we would rather sleep in my car than to stay another second in that room. We went downstairs to check out and I was told that I would receive a FULL refund from this business and it would take 1-2 days. This was on Friday 03/29/24. Before seeing the room I had booked it for 2 nights for a total of $220. Yesterday I checked my bank account (6 days later) and saw that I had only been refunded half of the price I paid for the room. I immediately called the Rodeway in to inquire about the rest of my refund. I was told by the woman who answered the phone, Sonja that it was their policy to only refund 1/2 of the total cost. It did not matter that we were in the room for less than 15 minutes. When I told her that this was unacceptable, her tone and attitude completely changed and she was quite rude to me. After going back and forth for several minutes, she told me that the only way I might be able to get my full refund would be if I called the manager today and asked him to refund my card. I told her that this was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will be calling my bank today and asking them for a charge back. Stay FAR away from this motel, we were able to get a room at the Holiday Inn for less money and the quality was easily 100 times better than the Rodeway Inn. Don't waste your time booking a room here unless you are looking to purchase some meth or want to bring some bugs with you back to your home. read more

Traveling with family for a nephews graduation. The room is decent, office table is a little wobbly and the chair is filthy. The carpet is also filthy. I understand that the hotel is being renovated but it still needs to be kept clean. They either unplugged the refrigerator or just turned it down to one which is warm so it wasn't even remotely cold when we got here. I had to look up how to make the fridge cold so I turned it up/down to 6. Needless to say we kept our stuff in the cooler the 1st night. Continental breakfast was good because they have a waffle maker, which was the saving grace. The sausage and the eggs were okay. They also have yogurt, fresh fruit and muffins. Sad to say that once they saw us coming on morning/day 2 they put away the yogurt. Why because they are rude and provide terrible service. We have a special needs family member so two of the group did not go to breakfast the 1st day, so yogurt and fresh fruit was brought back to the room for them on the 1st day. This is not only rude but unprofessional of the hotel staff to do - that is why I am only giving 1 star otherwise it would have been 2 stars. read more

The only "nice" thing about this motel (NOT hotel) was the employee who checked us in. Budget is where this is at. I have stayed at nicer places for less money. I thought we were getting a bargain. We were not. I read the reviews after pre-booking here for months until our stay and I kept thinking the only ppl that review things are ones who were dissatisfied and that there had to be more people out there who had good stays. Our room was, literally, falling apart. I meant to take pictures but forgot. There was a ceiling patch in the corner by the bed and window that looked like it had been covered multiple times. It was crumbling anyway. There were white flakes all over the end table and the rug. Fact: The facility is old and falling apart. Fact: The smoke smell does exist. Fact: There are only two working outlets available to use. I was happy that we did have hot water. (I read that quite a few ppl did not). I was happy I did not see bugs or hair. However, there were what could've been either mascara, pen, or some other black marks on our sheets. We never slept in the bed. We slept on top of it making use of our own sheet and blanket that we had packed. The room coffee was gross (according to my husband). I do not drink coffee. We did not try the continental breakfast as the overall griminess of the place freaked me out so there was no way we were going to consume food made there. Friday night was quiet. However, Saturday night from 3a-4:30a someone kept slamming the outside door and their room door. We were in Room 158 at the end of the hall. The not so great reviews are true. This facility needs a major overall. I saw three other nice-looking chains hotels about 5-10 minutes away. I would not stay here again. read more

We checked in, fell asleep for an hour, went to dinner and the discussion at dinner was, why are we staying at this place. Luckily the place was for free, so we went back, got our bags and snuck out. My sis and I stayed here after needing a last minute place to stay near PA. Not wanting to spend an arm and a leg and the other leg to park at the hotels in PA just to sleep. After reading reviews we were kind of scared to stay here but it really wasn't that bad. The person that checked us in was friendly. The room was clean. Even smelled of cleaning products. Plenty of parking. A restaurant/convenience store/gas station conveniently in parking lot. I think they might still be renovating because the room next to us had work tools etc. in it. Not that it bothered us. We were only there at night. Don't get me wrong. This is not a luxury hotel...but for the price and convenience I would stay here again. read more

So, the location and the breakfast of this place was fine. Everything else in this place, not so great. It was just a little too dumpy and we don't have very high standards. The first room they put us in had paint peeling off the wall, the door would not close, and the bathroom fixtures were falling off the wall. To top it off the Wi-Fi wasn't good either. If I would've checked in earlier in the day I probably would've left. The first room we were given had no electricity. We got a second room and when you opened the door it immediately smelled. Only given a bar of soap no shampoo or conditioner. The toilet wasn't cleaned because someone left a surprise in it. There was no hot water. The sheets had stains all over them. The one good thing about the room was the air conditioner. It made the room very cold. There must have been a party next door because people were yelling all night long. The complimentary breakfast was the same as any place. The only difference was hearing about the hotel from a staff member and about the drug addicts who stay there. I would definitely not stay here with children. The place needs to be updated and staffed by people who actually care about. read more

I'm not exactly a seasoned traveler but this has to be the worst place ever. Where to start? It has a pool which had debris in it not to mention a sock, the room smelled like cigarettes even though it was non smoking and the rug has stains. They do serve breakfast which considering how bad everything else is was ok, hard boiled eggs, waffles, sausage, bagels and yogurt . Many shady characters around after dark, the local police actually questioned us in the parking lot about what we were doing there. They warned us about the drug dealing and prostitution that takes place nightly. It is located down the street from a strip club which I assume provides the nightly entertainment. People screaming in the middle of the night, guys sitting in running cars and banging on doors. It was so bad I didn't sleep half the night out of concern for our safety. I was surprised our car was there in the morning. We were part of a group that received a discount for booking in advance for two nights, I decided to leave after the first and didn't care I lost the money for the second. Stayed here while taking a trip from Philly airport. Called & was booked same day. The front desk guy kept asking "are you going to show up?" over and over, made me think how many people must pull up & flake on this place. They were great in getting us a room that was handicapped accessible, but frankly this place looks run down and I definitely slept with one eye open. read more

This hotel is ideal if you are thinking of starting a career in prostitution or dealing meth. There are ample citizens hanging around this hotel, eager to help you obtain drugs or simply lurk about. If drugs and prostitution aren't your thing, then you'll enjoy the pungent array of awful smells. Fret not, your view will not be tarnished as there isn't one to begin with (unless, of course, you enjoy pothole-riddled parking lots). Our room was filthy, we slept with our shoes on. This hotel was so bad, that we paid the fee to check out early. We did not feel we were safe, and the hotel refused to refund our points. Horrible hotel, terrible building, awful service. Some Guido in the parking lot hanging out by a semi trailer, probably selling a truckload of illegal cigarettes or something. Then pulled by the night check-in window (behind bulletproof glass mind you) and there was this big dude in a hood that looked over his shoulder like he was afraid I was going to shoot him or something. Paid cash for his hotel room (though he was driving a brand new Ford Taurus, mind you) and then walked by me giving me a really, really dirty look. Then heard tires squeal as I entered my room. We were looking for something between Philly and Atlantic City that wasn't going to bust the budget on a Saturday night. We picked this place because it is right off the Walt Whitman Bridge. It's a 2-story, 4-building motel. The 4-buildings form a square around the pool area. Our building was in the back of the place. The lighting in the back of the building was poor. The corridors are outdoors and cement. The cement was warping and caused my father to trip. The carpet in the room had a stain on it and one of the outlets in our room didn't work. The walls were thin and we could hear a woman yelling for a good portion of the pre-midnight evening. The internet was free, but you get what you pay for since it was S-L--O---W (I'm willing to pay for internet that is fast and reliable). Think wi-fi at dial-up speeds. On the plus side, I thought the bed was comfortable compared to how bad everything else was. There was a complimentary breakfast, but like most complimentary breakfasts anymore, children had taken over the place. It would do in a pinch, but I wouldn't search it out. read more

This is the hotel that US Air dumps you in when they overbook all their flights out of Philadelphia on a Sunday night. The hotel is 30 minutes from the airport, and you're probably sharing the shuttle with all the other ticked off passengers who were denied boarding. Where was I, oh the hotel. I think their primary business is passengers US Air screwed over. Out of the twenty people in the bar (did I mention the restaurant wasn't open for dinner?) all of them were from US Air. Seriously - no one stays here but angry passengers. The inn is really a two story motel. No frills, peeling paint in the bathroom, mold in the empty room fridge (except one of my fellow travellers got a bonus - two cans of coke and rice curry in her fridge - eww). Aside from the restaurant not being open, the hotel was also understaffed. A single bartender serving 20 people, and she had to make round trips to the kitchen (about fifty feet away) to get our meals. She was doing her best, but like I said, the place is understaffed). What more can I say? Well, the nice things: free wireless (unexpected, thank you!), free shuttle to and from the airport, a decent mattress, and a staff that's trying their best. One star experience, but I'll toss in an extra for the free wireless. read more

This place is a shithole.... they are currently in the process of tearing a lot of it down..... when I walked into my room it immediately smelled like sewage and smoke ( non-smoking room)... and the cover for the AC was laid out on the bed. The room was filthy and looked like I traveled back in time to the early 80's. I'm sure that's when the mattress and bedding were purchased. Thank god this was a 1 night stay! In the morning I was awakened around 630am to an excavator destroying the building next to mine ( part of this hotel) he was literally 50 feet from my room.... just a BIG NOPE!! read more

Wish I would have seen this review a lot sooner. Let me explain and lend me your time to read this ... IT WOULD HELP YOU . My fiance and I was having our apt done and needed to be out the house for a day or two . We book a room for two nights... our very first night we were both way too tired to check our room thoroughly but we won't up the next day itching like the druggies down stairs ‍ we pulled our sheets back on both beds and couldn't believe our eyes . BLOOD STAINS. Not any ol bloodstain thou . Insect pooped out our human blood ...bloodstains. On both our actually sheets and on the mattress protector (THATS used for bed bugs and "spills") thou the colors on the sheets vs the bed protector would obviously be two different colors due to one being washed often and the other not being removed at all . Long story short we addressed the issue with the front desk and lo and behold they tell us it isn't a blood stain but can't explain to us what it is. That didn't make us comfortable to stay anymore and for that we fought all day between them and hotel tonight for our money back . When my man stepped out the room to call hotel tonight the front desk lady .. idk who she is thou calling herself the bug expert (according to what she told my man) she said and I quote "woman to woman that's not how blood dries up (not knowing she's talking to a nurse) .... (then pulls up her pants leg showing me her ankles where her bed bug bites are located) these are bed bugs bites what he got right now isn't a bed bug bite but a mosquito bite" if I wasn't comfortable enough to stay before ... sure in (ya know what) isn't comfortable now . She then began to show me pictures of her kids from home with bite marks to try to justify her reasonings . But what's odd is that my man had a allergic reaction to that night ... and they look JUST LIKE HER BABY BITE MARKS SHE WAS SHOWING ME. We use to stay there before in between business trips but it is a BIG FAT NO ESPECIALLY FINDING A REVIEW FROM A YEAR AGO WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT . Dirty musty and buggy. read more

I stayed here a year ago for work and it was under renovation then. A year later and it is worse. Too bad they haven't done a damn thing to improve the place. Maybe next year; NOT. Sorry, screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me. Wont't happen again. My advice is to go 15 minutes down the road to a real hotel. As an add on, there is no alarm clock in the room and the phone doesn't work to put in a wake up call. Guess I'll have to rely on the construction to wake me up. Freakin priceless. read more

Ok, right off the bat, this place is very old, run down, was clearly not well maintained over the years, basically a dump that is in desperate need of major renovation or total tear down and rebuild. Ok, that's out of the way, let's move on. In spite of the overall condition of the property the room was rather clean for the most part. The only real complaint was the carpet. It appeared to be 15 years old and filthy. Don't think it had ever been shampooed. I used slippers or shoes at all times while walking in the room. Everything else including the bathroom was acceptable. Internet was perfect. With the exception of the older grumpy as hell gentleman working the overnight shift everyone was very accommodating and helpful. Candice @ the front desk could not have been more cheerful and accommodating for a few special needs and requests. After check in found that the microwave wasn't working. By the time I walked back to my room the maintenance man was standing at my door w/a replacement microwave. One odd thing, the bed pillows were little squares, like the size found on a couch. I thought that a little strange but it worked for the night. There is no bar or restaurant. There is a complimentary breakfast. While it has everything you expect the one thing missing was eggs. There were 2 steam trays both w/sausage, waffles, cereal, breads etc but no eggs. That was kinda weird. You would think one of the steam trays for sausage and one for eggs. Sadly the pictures make this hotel look a lot nicer then it is, I was originally looking to book in Center City they are temporarily closed . Our hotel looked decent, I'f burn holes in all the hotel blankets and sheets and on most of the furniture are your thing, the shower in our room didn't work at all it just trickled out of the faucet but not even a trickle out of the shower head. There was no toilet paper in our room except the tiny bit left on the roll when we arrived. Not to mention the blood splatters on the wall and ceiling in the bathroom which I can only assume are from someone shooting up in there (I've worked in recovery).. the air conditioner in our room smelt musty and moldy and the filter was disgusting like it hadn't been changed in about 137392 years. The only soda machine & vending machine on the property do not work .. and of course the royal farms closes early and there are no other gas stations near by.. really annoyed with the reservation company as well as wasting my money.. I thought this was going to be a steal of a deal .. feels more like they stole my money.. never again .. never read more

I had a pleasant stay from 8/22/18 to 8/24/18 while on family business in Gloucester City (from Denver). It appears to be a family run hotel so the folks working the office have a vested interest in customer satisfaction and, I thought, high standards. It isn't a new hotel but it is a redo in progress. The hallway in the building I was in appeared to be waiting for chair-rail molding but I saw no drastic need for maintenance elsewhere. The location has easy access to the divided highway US Route 130 in both north/south directions and is close to I-76 to Philly and I-295, and to Market Street into Gloucester City. It is adjacent to a gas station and fried chicken take out place but you must drive for a real sit-down restaurant. My room, a non-smoking 1 king size bed, was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Everything worked. I had no need for the small fridge or microwave but I did use the coffee maker and iron. I had no problems using their free wi-fi. I also used their lobby PC and printer to get my airline boarding pass. Breakfast, in addition to the usual cold cereal choices, waffles, yogurt, toast/bagels, and small pastries, included scrambled eggs and sausage patties along with a courtesy newspaper. Every staff person I met was professional, polite and friendly. This Rodeway Inn is not the Ritz but is a family run hotel in the Choice Hotels family and is an acceptable budget accommodation. I'd stay there again. read more
