Suite, with four of us, kitchenette, teevees in both rooms. Under a hundy per night. Rooms have been renovated, the staff is very nice and there seem to be a LOT of people working here. Pool is pretty great, breakfast is free, although it's just cereal, fruit, muffins, that sort of thing. The place is pet friendly; our dog would have been a tenner a night, if we hadn't decided eight hours in the car would have been too much for him and us. The bad: The place is pet-friendly. So, when you walk in the room, you'll know they've worked very, very hard to make the place smell like there wasn't just an aged basset hound "working the room" for the previous week. I almost wished the chemical smell would have been replaced with mere dog pee. Overall, though, a real bang for the buck. We'll be back.

It was just my husband, toddler son, and me. It was very easy to find and is located right off the main road. Our room was clean and organized. It was nice and big! We easily fit a travel crib in the front closet area and had a huge amount of space to sprawl our luggage. Each room is equipped with a microwave and a larger mini fridge which is awesome. Our bathroom was rather dingy and older. The bath plug was difficult to work and the water never got really hot. There weren't any nonstick things on the tub's bottom to prevent kids from sliding during bath time or adults for that matter. The bathroom was smaller than we expected with no closeup mirror or hairdryer and very little counter space. We left our towels hanging everyday and when we returned, they were refolded on the towel rack. Breakfast was included in the low room rate. There was a room downstairs filled with danishes, pastries, bagels, cereal, yogurt, a waffle iron, awesome out meal, and hard boiled eggs, the latter of which did not look very appetizing. There was also two fruit bowls but the fruit was older and nearly rotting. Juices, skim, and coffee were also provided. If you rely heavily on carbs for your morning meal, you'll love the breakfast. One oversight of mine was that there isn't a pool. I definitely meant to book a hotel with a pool for my son. As it was winter, beach access wasn't really a priority. Not having a pool is a huge issue with kids so I will not make that mistake again when traveling with him. We took a trip to Boyne Mountain's water park for a day instead. The front desk attendants were all kind and helpful. I did hear the manager, maybe owner, talking loudly in the back about business figures but the rest of the staff were always smiling and helpful. While the hotel isn't centrally located to downtown, it's only a few miles drive. However, there are lots of little places to grab food. The Cottage is within walking distance and was delicious for food and libations. Our hotel room had a lovely view of Hooters which was closed for the season. There is a state park not far as well as several smaller parks and places with beach access. Overall this is the perfect place to stay while on a budget. The rooms were cheap and breakfast is included. However, there isn't a pool.

Our experience was less than we had hoped it would be. The first night we arrived at about 7pm and had 9pm dinner reservations. When we went to dry our hair, we noticed that the outlet in the bathroom didn't work, even after trying to hit the reset button. So I tried the outlet by the coffee maker so I could use the mirror, and it blew out the outlet that was for the coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. The sink was also clogged and slow to drain. We had to leave for dinner with wet hair (first world problem, I know). On our way out the next day, I informed the front desk and she said we were lucky that the maintenance man was there that day. By the time we returned, everything was fixed! Yay! However, it would have been nice to get some credit on the room rate for our inconvenience. I know it is high season, but two nights was $906.00 and way overpriced for this property. And on a random note, we parked our new van by grass and when we went to leave the next day, there were very distinct hard water deposits from the sprinkler system on the windshield and the hood. The wipers could not remove the stains, so we had to find a car wash to remove the residue. We would recommend parking on the internal spots.

The accommodations such as a free shuttle with good times too or you could take the free bus that takes you to the downtown area too. Though there wasn't much of a view for my first floor room I was close to the lobby which I was very content with. The breakfast had vegan options for my wife shockingly! Breakfast besides that was incredible with what was provided. They had cookies for guests in the evening hours. The fitness room was Prestine as well though I was slightly disappointed that a hot tub was supposedly advertised wish there is not but the pool has pretty solid hours too if the beach isn't your kind of thing. Prices here are kind of high but it was ultimately Justified throughout our entire visit. I will highly recommend and suggest coming here as your first choice if you are staying in the area.

Our room had a balcony over looking the parking lot, a couch section with a king bed. Everything was clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. We were very surprised at how quiet it was while we slept for having a wedding party occupying the building. There is a bistro on site with times posted for a quick bite to eat mid day or first thing in the morning. Location of the hotel were by many restaurants and wineries so the going out options are endless. Rena even gave us a few suggestions that were written up on paper with phone numbers of local wineries that are favorites.

We were on the first level and I worried about noise but it was nice and quiet. I mentioned it in my previous review but I'm happy to report the pool is still great and still adults only after 10:30pm with extended hours until midnight. I really needed a relaxing moment in the hot tub after a stressful week but we also had dinner reservations at 8. Hot tub before and we'd lose time exploring town. After? Most pools are closed. But with the late hours here we could have a nice soak after dinner around 10:30 then shuffle off back to our room to watch some TV and get a good night's rest. Hoteliers listen--this should be the norm! Pool is also huge and so is the hot tub, good jets and temp as well! The lake is lovely and the dock and beach are the only things we need to entertain us on a warm summer day. The kids like the rowboats and trips to the store for candy. One recent big negative is that the lodge staff can no longer cook and serve meals. The Silver Dollar restaurant is a short walk away, but it's just not the same as being served breakfast (or dinner) on site.
