For years, we have been stopping at Rodgers to rent skis for the day on our way to Loon. They have quality rentals and are conveniently located. I wrote a positive review years ago, but I have to write another one. Yesterday, they insisted for me to write down my credit card number on their form (a big no-no in this day and age). When I questioned it and pointed out that they never did that in previous years, they lied about it, and then said if I was not happy, I could just leave the skis and go elsewhere. Nice! What a great place! Everyone's is really helpful and just all around nice. Snapped a chain on bike and they got me back on the road. I didn't trust the chain that had snapped and thankfully that had a high quality replacement that was reasonably priced as well. This store has bike rentals, a bike repair shop, bikes, skis, ski gear, thermals, gloves. Everything you would be looking for. The rentals are $30 for the day and $5 for a lift up to the bike trails. A good option if you haven't ever tried it or didn't happen to bring your bike. We've been window shopping for a bike rack for the car. They had two different ones there that were priced around $250. We have 6 bikes so the average bike rack just doesn't work. The sales man who helped us was pleasant and informative. He suggested we look into a mini trailer that holds lawn mowers so we will keep shopping. The entrance way is nice with a big seating room with couch, fire place and dog! It was pouring rain when we were there so it was nice to sit and be dry for a minute. read more

Seeing that Rogers has a long, standing history and what had seem to be a good reputation. This all caught me by surprise. In my opinion I will never be giving them business or even walking through those doors again. I had such a horrible experience the last two times I've been in. The first was because they said that they were very short staffed and needed some new workers and as a student and someone who has worked in a ski shop and loves skiing I jumped on the idea. I had told them I would be working as a ski patroller at their neighbor mountain when the owner and his wife proceeded to insult me and the job that I do at Loon. I didn't appreciate it at all seeing as I came interested in working for their establishment. Seeing as they are still a privately owned business, running on the idea of a mom and pop shop. This is not one I would suggest you check out. There are plenty better ones within a 10 mile radius, so take your business elsewhere. read more

I first came to Roger's as a prospective employee. Rodgers has expressed a need for new employees every time I came in. I go to Plymouth State right down the road and they even came and set up a table trying to recruit students. I then decided to go in and fill out an application hoping to join their team along with a friend who was also interested. We ended up talking to the owner and his wife for around an hour where the both of us were repeatedly insulted and had our questions ignored. This was more than enough to deter me from working here. I then came in a couple weeks later looking for some ski boot fitting help. I told them it would be difficult to purchase boots from them, though did offer to pay their fee (clear on their website) and then some. Before I could even finish speaking, I was simply told no and that $100 for a 40 minute boot fitting at 12:30 on a Wednesday (there was not a single other customer in the store) was not worth their time. I have never dealt with customer service like this as any sort of outdoor retail shop, nor have I been disrespected when offering my work to anybody before. I would not recommend giving Rodgers any business. read more

Went in with an extremely low level of knowledge about the gear my son needed for his school race team. Tucker in the race department walked us through everything we needed to know. In a sport where egos and elitist attitudes are common, Tucker was down to earth, helpful, and not the least bit condescending. He helped us get gear that fit our needs and didn't take advantage of our lack of knowledge to sell us more than we needed. He was so helpful that I ended up buying a whole new set of gear for myself BECAUSE I knew from the first interaction that I could trust his judgment, knowledge, and fairness. Literally the first place off the exit of 93. I've been here a few times and rented and more recently had my skis waxed and sharpened. Prices are good and they handle a lot of people in a very uniform way. Prices are good and the staff is where they excel. They literally couldn't be more friendly and having more fun with one another. They also don't rush you which is nice. I dropped off my skis who needed some tlc and picked them up and rode this past Sunday, they did a fantastic job. Mu edges were sharp and shining like new and holy shit were my skis faster than ever. The guy actually remembered me from 2 weeks ago when I dropped them off because of my last name which isn't a common one or one that stands out. I will be happily taking me like new skis to Jackson Hole and couldn't be happier that I chose to clean em up at Rodgers. read more

I bought a Yes Unink here last weekend and I wanted to give a massive shout out and review. Not only did Jerard help me find the board I wanted to add to my quiver, he took time to educate me about the fascinating history of the brand and fix a binding issue that's been plaguing me for years. One I was not aware of and effected my riding on multiple boards I own that may have never been solved (he even offered to adjust bindings for the board that I had to purchase elsewhere). I can only comment on ski rentals. While the price is great, almost half what you would spend at Loon, I disliked the boots- only two buckles made sizing difficult. Spend the extra money and get the head rentals on the mountain (four buckles, one of which is sliding). I am a type II skier. Print the $3 coupon from their website. We stopped in and scheduled a bike trip for our family of 8. They were so accommodating and friendly. Their rental bikes were awesome. They drove us to a local bike path and as they promised 90 percent of our bike ride was downhill. We stopped at the Basin, Old Man of the Mountain and a few other spots along the way. Still not in love with this place BUT I do have to say they have the best prices in town. Even better than online so if you find something you like elsewhere you should probably check the price here. I found the goggles I wanted$15cheaper than anywhere else, not even in sale just 15 off the msrp. Wish they carried Patagonia but they have a tiny selection of mammut and mammut fits me better anyway because I'm tall. The staff isn't as friendly as elsewhere- they have a slightly elitist attitude. A lot of the merchandise they carry is super expensive (kjus) - think $700 for a jacket that doesn't do much but look pretty. read more

He would not let me give up, made adjustments, added a support, etc until we got it right. He outfitted me with new skis and set them up. Made sure I knew I could come back for adjustments. Well, I read all of the reviews, and I think there's a bit of truth in everything you hear. But our experience with bike rentals was completely positive. I brought my family of five (three kids, aged 7-12) for bike rentals as part of the Franconia Notch bike tour. The service was excellent! The staff fitted each person in accord with their preference when possible - my daughter wanted a mountain bike instead of a comfort bike. The bikes were new and excellent quality (etc. hydraulic disc brakes). They rent the same high quality bikes that they sell. Then we were driven to Franconia Notch at the start of the bike trail. I won't review the ride as it is reviewed many places elsewhere, but suffice to say it was fun and almost all downhill. You pass many places you could stop at (The Basin, Flume Gorge, Clark's trading Post); a must is the Ski Museum at Cannon Mountain. I must say the last third of the ride is boring as it is all along the side of a highway, but it's a fast ride as it's all downhill. Overall the experience was exactly what we were looking for - a fun, easy, beautiful mountain bike ride made possible by a friendly and convenient rental experience. Holly was exceptionally helpful about life in the Lincoln area. A shout-out to Casey for making everything about our bike rental and tour experience fun and worry-free! read more

Stopped by Rodgers on my way up to Attitash Mtn. The store was empty, but several employees came up to me asking if I needed assistance on both the first & second floors. The owner's golden retriever, Kitz, was laying down right at the entrance. He was very friendly and I was able to pet him before & after my purchase. While, I do have to say that Rodgers has a lot of what you might be looking for, I was turned off by 2 things. 1. the price. Because it's located right next to Loon mountain, the prices are jacked up so that some of them are almost double what you will find outside the ski resort area. 2. the staff. Yes, I want staff that will be there for me to ask questions if I need them, but I don't need to be followed around the store as soon as I walk in. It gave me the feeling that I was a teenager again and the workers were afraid I was going to steal something. I'm a skier, and have been for 40+ years. I not only enjoy skiing I sincerely enjoy the skiing community and was part of the industry for many years. I'm also a dog lover, and while I've never had a problem with someone saying dogs are not welcome, Rodger's is the first ski shop to not only not allow outside dogs, but made sure to have greeted me at the door quite publicly in a nearly shaming manner denying me entry when I attempted to enter with my very well-mannered dog. It may have been cloaked in politeness, but it was quite disturbing to be on the receiving end, especially from someone in a community such as the ski community. If it were just a teenage greeter or some floor staff I could understand and dismiss it, but this was a middle-aged woman, who appeared as if she'd been around the industry awhile making sure to show whoever was standing around that she was boss. She may very well be the boss.... It's too bad too, I may not be in the industry any longer, but I do have a mouth, and a crap ton of outdoorsy friends, who have a crap ton of disposable income. While it probably won't hurt their business, I'll be making damn sure I won't do anything to help their business. read more

Well, I went walked in after a day of skiing with a coffee from dunkins (with a cover on it). I was not greeted by the 15 employees standing around and after about 5 minutes of looking at stuff i was asked if I could step away from the merchandise with my coffee. I politely agreed and walked out the door. Needless to say the place is overpriced anyway, I left and went to Lahouts down the street and got much better service and spent a bunch of money there (with coffee in hand). If your in the area I would recommend going to Lahouts over Rodgers any day of the week! read more

I have been a fan of Rodgers ever since I crashed my road bike on the rail road tracks in front of their shop many years ago. The owners (Dave and Helen) came out and helped clean the road rash on my leg. Heck Dave even offered to give me a ride home. My youngest of three children is now 18. Over the many years we have purchased probably 60 to 75% of our new gear from Rodgers. Skiing is an expensive sport and the sales team at Rodgers can help guide you through your options. Be an educated buyer, take advantage of "demo day's" at your home mountain and select the models (and ski lengths) that make you feel like a hero on the hill. This information will help the sales staff find the best ski (and value) for you. Rodgers experienced boot fitters will get you dialed in so that you can ski with confidence. Their ace technicians can structure and tune your skis as needed and provide you with the equipment and knowledge to tune your skis yourself (if you so desire). They do the same for Bikes too! Just be careful once you walk in the store.... sometimes "Kitt" is sleeping in the threshold. No worries he is the most lovable dog (next to Kaia our RidgeEE) in Lincoln. read more
