I wanted to stay how happy I am and what a great experience I had with Raffik and Rodney's Auto Service. Raffik was very pleasant on the telephone and told me to go ahead and bring my car in right away. My car had failed the smog and I had gotten approval from the bureau of automotive repairs to have repairs done on my car to fix whatever was causing my smog to fail at a STAR certified Auto repair. I have quite an older vehicle and Raffik assured me that they work on that year and model of car. To make a long story short, Raffik is very nice, very honest and called me with great news! I was afraid I was going to have to retire my car if it did not fall within the parameters of what the bureau of automotive repairs had approved for me. He proceeded to tell me that he did a baseline smog test on my car and it passed the smog!! Woohoo!! I was and still am so Happy!! So no repairs were even needed on my vehicle. My family and I got noticed to evacuate 3 AM in the morning from our house. We came to my in-laws in La Crescenta and realized we didn't have gas so we came to the gas station across the street from Rodney's and on the way back a branch went under my husband's car while I was driving and ripped the plastic cover out basically dragging the plastic on the floor. I came back to fill up my car and saw that Rodney was open. I came in and I asked is there anyway you could help me? I'll bring my car please and he said without hesitation bring the car I will help you don't worry. The fact that this place was willing to help in the middle of an evacuation and crisis. I had the worst experience at (Rodney's) Raffi's auto svc in Tujunga. A friend referred me to take my Toyota car to him when had engine check light on and then for a smog check in early March. He fixed the light and asked me to drive and bring it back in 3 days and will smog check it. After 3 days he tested my car and said the same thing again to come back next week. I took my car to another shop to smog check it. He tested and said your car is good. After few min he said with perplex expressions said your car was smog checked and failed. I cant do anything. I was shocked and upset why Rafi, the owner did not tell me he smog checked it and failed. I called DMV they said the same thing that your car failed on March 5. The same day I dropped my car in his shop to fix the engine light for evaporation problem that air was getting in gas tank. And the same day he smog checked it to fail without telling me? I drove my car for weeks and took it to Mobil gas station for smog check. Mike tested it and said your car is OK. But after trying to smog check saw the same skeptic, wondering expression...he paused on his computer and then asked me where did you take your car? I told him where. He said dont take it to him. He put a red flag on your car that anyone checked the smog get's judged by the Bureau and be in trouble. No one does that to a customer. IWhy he did this? The guys in Mobil said, don't worry you came the right place. We are the good guys and will fix the problem. My car passed the smog check and I received the sticker from DMV which was long due, thank to the good guys of Mobil station in valley. I called Raffi and asked him why did you do that? Why you did not tell me you smog checked and failed it without telling me. He said do you have papers? I said you did not give me any papers except the $160.00 bill I paid it, but DMV has the records. He denied he smog checked...I told him I will report you. You have to search your heart that is not right with your customer and God. Awful experience. I do not recommend him specially for women. read more

Great shop that i tried as a result of very high recommendation from an acquaintance. Always had car serviced at dealership so I was hesitant. When I arrived, there was a number of customers waiting for their turn is indicator that shop had something good going. Had a check engine light periodically go on and 2007 VW Passat would surge. Owner Rafi diagnosed the code free of charge. Turned out to be problem with a coil. When he took engine cover off, he noticed that spark plugs were past service life and offered to change them at no charge, just the cost of part. Its been two weeks and no check engine or stuttering. I think I have finally found a mechanic i can trust to leave the dealership dependency. i was in and out as promised and he saved the day. read more

He's always very professional and very honest. Many shops will tell you one thing and do another, tell you something needs repairs, when in fact it doesn't Rodney's is always straight forward . Brought my truck in for some tranny work,truck ran fine had no running problems with motor. When truck was finished transmission was fixed but the damn truck won't run with out dying it shakes and won't idle at all unless you self throttle the motor.this old truck ran fine when it was driven to the shop and now this so called garage wants another five hundred bucks. It ran just fine and now all of a sudden the truck needs this and that . How come they didn't tell me this in the first place when they were diagnosising the problems of the truck in the beginning when they hit me up for over a thousand bucks. The kiker was the price went up two hundred to fix the dash lights do speedometer would be visible be at night,well I was charged the extra money but dash lights weren't fixed. I'd rather take these folks to small claims court and pay court cost then another five hundred to these idiots so they can say it needs something by else they screwed up. Go else where for mechanical repair ,this place will Robb you .!!! read more
