Love this place. It's a low key, down home neighborhood golf store. Well, it's a big golf store with everything you'd want for practice or a game. You can get away with some great deals. I've been trying to practice and play a lot more. Also got a gently used Spider putter, great buy at $199. My wife lost her pitching wedge on a killer Taylor Made women's set... she got a replacement here. They have plenty of deals on new and used clubs. Had to get a few clubs re-gripped. Brought in a Big Bertha a few weeks ago. Then I had a 3 hybrid re-gripped last week... Callaway X, about 10 years old. When I went back to pickup the club, funny thing is they thought they lost it... Turns out the club had been placed out of order. The guys in the gripping area were genuinely concerned and calmly freaked out about it. It was actually really nice to see how good these kids are. There's some adults working as well as some young kids... Nice neighborhood type of folks. This is a store I keep coming back to right now. There's constantly stuff for me to get. This place has it all for golf. And the people are great too. read more

If you were to ask me what the crown jewel of seal beach was, I would have to tell you it is this store. While all Roger Dunns have amazing selections of clubs, equipment, and clothes, this store takes it above and beyond with its people. After a couple visits there I learned why it is so amazing, and it comes down to the two captains at the helm, Dene and Terry. These guys live and breath the customer first mentality. They extremely inviting, informative, and they are transparent on all of their analyses on the products within the store. Their exceptional attitudes emanate to their staff. Sometimes I want to work there just to feel like a part of their family. I've noticed myself hanging around the store more often to watch them in action... maybe I will ask them to golf with me sometime soon. Called the morning of Christmas Eve to ask if they were open to get my clubs gripped and they said come on in. I dropped my clubs off around 10am and they said they will be ready by 2:30pm (Christmas Eve!). I returned around 3 and my clubs were waiting for me. Great service and friendly staff! As a new golfer they sold me the wrong clubs for my height and hand size. Tried again, got a little better advice on next set. Went for grip measurement and to put new grips on, employees were clueless on how to measure grip or advised on proper grip size. They need knowledgeable helpful staff. They should recognize many retailers are failing and what will help them last is good knowledgeable service. Service was non-existant. If starting g out as a golfer, go elsewhere for value your money and expertise of staff. Won't go here again. read more

Hubby came to get his grip on his golf clubs replaced. He Usually goes to the Santa Ana location. Which is way bigger than this location but since we were passing thru the area. Recalled there was a Roger Dunn shop in Seal beach. Came on a Thursday afternoon. They advise 25 mins to get the grip replaced. Took a little bit longer because the associate had to clean/drill out the old counter weight since it was rusted. There Was a good amount of customers. The shop have a free putty area where you can test out the clubs you're interested in purchasing. associates were all so friendly especially at the repair shop. Only reason I gave it a 4 stars because the shop seem somewhat cluttered even my husband noticed that. Lots of golf clothes, hats & accessories for your golfing needs. Came in to get my driver shaft fixed for ferrule creep. Cashier was friendly and greeted me when I came in. Dropped it off at the repair shop and told me it'll be done in 15 minutes. I walked around and browsed at different drivers and even tried some on their simulator. I went back to check up on my shaft and they said free of charge. I really appreciate the hook up! Little things like this will make customers happy and want to come back. I'll surely be visiting this store more often with all my golf needs now. KUDOS! read more

I have already took my clubs to the Santa Ana location and had them do the needed repairs, and they did it while I waited. Amazing customer service there. I'll never use the Seal beach location again. And I had two friends buy a full set of clubs each from the Santa Ana location over this past weekend. About 3k in just irons. And they live in Long Beach and Seal Beach, I told them about my issue and they will never go back to that location either. They also mentioned that it looks like a bunch of kids that work there, except the club repair guy was an older Asian man. Completely rude. read more

Have to give a shout out to Jennifer who I think is the assistant manager. Bought a head cover but lost the receipt. She never rejected me and told me she will see what she can do since she had a lot of customers waiting. 20 mins later, she found me on the floor and told me she was able to pull up my transaction and told me I was able to exchange it for store credit. We got there again to test my hubby's driver today. He found first the driver from Roger Dunn website before we got there. He tested then he liked everything such as the weight, shaft length, head size, and price. We chose the Tour Egde USA brand. Today, one of sales reps said, I need to wait for the service, he was helping my hubby, he thought I was a different customer. Haha..but I was not happy he treated me like that. I recently visited the Roger Dunn store in Seal Beach to purchase a new golf club, even though it was a 30-mile drive from my home. Upon arrival, I found the store to be somewhat worn down and a bit challenging to navigate. Unfortunately, no one offered assistance, so I approached a senior employee with a few questions. He seemed preoccupied and not very interested in helping. I decided to buy the club because the employee mentioned it was priced at $120, instead of the sticker price of $129.99. At checkout, I confirmed this price with the cashier. However, when I got home and checked the receipt (my mistake for not doing it earlier), I noticed I was charged the full $129.99. While the difference isn't huge, every dollar counts these days. I called the store the next day to address the issue and was told I could come back to try and resolve it, but they couldn't guarantee a fix. When I asked if I could visit a closer branch, the response was, "Well, you can try." I'm a big fan of PGA Superstore and Dick's Sporting Goods and regretted my decision to try another golf shop. Lesson learned. I'm giving an extra star because the cashier offered to remove the sticker for me, which was a small but nice gesture. Overall bad experience. Brought my driver in get a new shaft and grip. The drop off was okay, but the pick up experience was difficult. I called beforehand and got left on hold for 20 minutes while they tried to figure out if my club was ready. Once I picked up my new shaft, I asked for my old one to see if I could salvage any of it and they said they thew it away (not cool). To top it off at checkout they forgot to give me my driver head cover and I ended having to drive back to pick it up. read more

This place is great! I brought in my Stealth driver that I haven't been able to hit and got a more than fair trade in for a g430 hybrid and fw wood. CJ was very patient and informative in making recommendations on which clubs to go with. The manager Jennifer was also extremely helpful and friendly with the transaction. Went to buy new irons this week. Met with John Mansell their Club Fitting Specialist. Did I ever luck out! I would have gone in and hit some balls with the clubs I was interested in, bought them and left and not too happy with my purchase. John has the patience of a saint. He worked with me, having me hit several irons. Each time dialing in on what I actually needed to make good contact with the ball. This is the first time I have ever been fitted for clubs and I added John's name to my contacts right away. read more

This year I made the goal of buying a new bag. My clubs haven't been updated since pre-Covid and I'm the type of golfer where stock just doesn't fit. What a wonderful store with the vast amount of resources that allowed me to spec out each of my clubs, one at a time, with an amazing satisfaction policy that allowed me to not waste thousands of dollars on testing. Unfortunately, I was very displeased by the poor costumer service I received from Rodger Dunn Golf associate Alex. I was unaware of store policy that is written only on the back of the receipt, after purchase. Due to poor service, I was never informed about return policies upon purchase. When associate Alex was questioned about store policy and why we were never informed he was very rude and disrespectful, he then proceeded to ignore me and walked away without any explanation. Then Jennifer came out and explained very clearly and respectfully the situation and our options. Due to Alex poor customer service and lack of communication I would highly not recommend this store. Appreciate Jennifer because if it weren't for her responsibility resolving the issue I would've never been able to return my product. From yet another very disappointed customer. read more

It may be nearing an end, but you know what? Summer isn't over just yet. Sure, the kids are back in school and the office vacation rotation is beginning to slow if not completely cycled through. But there is still sunlight, warmth, and Southern California attitude. I woke up- I've been 30 for some time now (but under a year) and I need something new, fresh, exciting, and walkable. I've decided to pick up golf! Really feeling this new calling, I hit the road knowing my crossover would cross us over into the new beginning: golf. It was at this point I stumbled upon Roger Dunn Golf Shops (RDGS). You heard of this place? Well let me tell you. This right here- a golf emporium! And no it's not just the clubs and balls but they also had clothes and accessories like belts and hats! Reader I must inform you that they are all in a certain style but I'm finding the aesthetic lends itself well to #Golf. They even had things for other stuff! AND you can do this thing where you play inside but it looks outside. Play it Again Sports could never- like pick a lane ya know? So as a brand new golfer and future 18-hole icon, I was a bit overwhelmed at this place. The only store of this magnitude that I have ever experienced is a Spirit Halloween. RDGS is not a Halloween store...but it DOES have spirit. I was obviously lost in this new environment- ecology, really! All parts of the store supported each other like a self sustaining dome. But a foreign dome for me. A staff member said hey there can I help you and he set me up for life. I'm talking the works- and you know what they are. I wish I remembered his name- Mitchell? Matt? He wore glasses. There was too much to focus on which i find poetic because isn't that what this game is all about? Focusing your mind and game in the midst of chaos. Staying focused as the trees sway, the birds sing, the sound of the green being mowed, and maybe there is someone in the background who is super funny who tells a really funny joke. You know ... they say "you are your own best company" but I find when I accompany myself, I can barley get a word in. But this new game, this new practice even, gives me and myself something to share and celebrate together. This new chapter can only be credited to RDGS. Great store, great products, and amazing staff who had a "your wish is my command" attitude that I found refreshing in today's super store "what's on the shelf is all we have" culture. read more

I'm getting back into golf after a hiatus because of an injury. I had a pinched nerve in my elbow, and I had surgery in February to repair the nerve. I'm using golf to rebuild the strength in my hand and arm. I was having bad results with my previous driver (it was about 6 years old), so I wanted to see if the new technology would assist me. It helped that I had used my friend's new driver during a round, and I had good results. John Mansell fit me on Mon, 7/3 for a new driver. He first had me hit my old driver to see where the ball was going on the launch monitor. He then started dialing in the right shaft and loft for my new driver. Having the right clubs is as important as being fitted properly for a suit: If you have the wrong fit of either, you don't feel good about yourself. John fit me for a Taylor Made M-2 D-Type (draw bias), w/ 9.5 degree of loft, and a regular flex shaft. I previously had a 10.5 degree driver with a stiff flex shaft. In addition, I told John that I used my friend's 10.5 degree M-2 driver, and although I was hitting the ball straight, the ball flight was too high. John used that feedback to fit me for the correct driver for me. I played with my new driver a couple of times and when I hit it correctly, I had the desired results: Long drives with a draw bias (curves to the left). The latter is the preferred shape of shots bc its results in more distance. However, after a third outing, I really saw the results. I hit 6 out of 7 fairways after playing 9 holes (I can't remember ever doing that before), and I shot a 41 (only 5 shots over par). I had been hard pressed to break 50 for 9 holes recently. In addition, bc of my long drives in the fairway (short grass), I had the opportunity for two birdie putts (I missed both, but that's another story - LOL). If you are serious about getting into golf, do get fitted for your clubs. Clubs are a big investment (a full set of 14 clubs will run you about $2K), so make sure you have the right ones. Roger Dunn takes trade ins to ease the blow of buying new clubs, and also will allow you to exchange your new clubs within 90 days if you are unsatisfied. The foregoing policy, along with great guys like John fitting you for the right clubs, makes Roger Dunn the only place I buy my golf gear. read more

Got to the counter and was given $30 off because of the shape the driver was in. As I'm getting ready to pay for it the cashier goes back and tells the Manager, Denae is that it's missed marked. They take away the $30 discount off the driver. The sad thing is I know how Denae takes care of his friends past the 90 day policy. This store is a joke. Done with RD. Roger Dunn is the only place I like to go to try and purchase clubs. Been to Golf Galaxy, PGA Superstore, Dicks, and more and nothing compares to the customer experience at Roger Dunn. PGA Superstore for example has such an attitude from the workers there for the day-to-day golfer while Roger Dunn treats everyone with the same respect no matter your skill level. Bought - Full set of Callaway Irons, 2 sets of kids clubs, new Driver, New $500 range finder which the slope button broke and they replaced with no questions. Horrible customer service. At 10am had 2 grips done plus a dozen golf balls. $76. Laid down a $100 dollar bill. "We don't have any change." What? I've gotten more change at a donut shop. So what do you do? Have them put my old grips on and leave? No. They already cut them. Offered no solution. Did not call the manager or resolve the issue. Just stood there. I've been there many times and paid cash and used $100 bills. Don't know the issue. I know they have change with 4-5 registers. This place is on the shit list. Will go to Santa Ana in the future. I recently suffered a loss due to a theft in my cars trunk. My complete golf clubs"( Ping 2) (Big Bertha Driver) including bag of the last 30 years and two pair brand new shoes were stolen and along with some personal items. Man, I loved those Clubs! I went to Roger Dunn and Seal Beach told him my story and looked for a little compassionate to help he started out by showing me some complete usets that I could just get started with right away. I wasn't prepared for fitting nor did I desire to purchase a brand new set of clubs. I Just wanted to resume my game as quick as possible. I initially liked the price of the set somewhere in the 200 to 300 range which is perfect for me since I have to replace everything. And after shoeing me 10 or so different packages, he narrowed it down to just one suitablefor me. Nevermind that they'r ewere 4 different packages advetised in my price range in print and displayed on cards above the display. He went back checked came backand claimed they were all out of stock and that the set he chose for me was now $399. I said " I'm sorry Son, but that is the classic bait and switch which it is! No concern for me or my plight. Shame shame Roger Dunn. I was looking for a little understanding and compassion. Instead I got some snot nosed kid who is probably a good golfer, but like most Millenials, doesn'tknow squat about tradittional Customer Service. He was towing the company line by rote and followed managers directive. Bottom line, I walked out feeling dejected and sad for that kid and his company. read more

Like most golfers, we are looking for more distance off the tee. Today Frank helped by working with me to find driver that increased my both my carry and roll-out distances by over 10%!
