Dr. Mansourati and Nurse Practitioner Ducharme deliver competent clinical care and demonstrate solid medical expertise. Unfortunately, the administrative operations at this practice fall substantially below acceptable standards, fundamentally compromising the patient experience. In properly managed facilities, administrative personnel facilitate care rather than impede it. Here, routine interactions prove unnecessarily burdensome, and front office demeanor frequently registers as dismissive rather than patient-centered. When individuals are navigating health challenges, administrative friction compounds their burden and represents a failure of essential service. Particularly disheartening is watching capable clinical providers have their efforts consistently undermined by operational deficiencies. Healthcare demands collaboration across all levels. When administrative conduct works against patient welfare, it negates even skilled medical work. Until substantial improvements are made, I recommend seeking care elsewhere.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

I woke up with pain radiating down my neck, spine, and arms to a point where I still can't move my upper body. I had been in to see Connie Ducharme a few months back for the same issue (less intense at the time). I called Fairlawn primary care this morning and asked for medication (not opiates) to help with the pain while I work on getting x-rays. I get a VM from Rebecca stating that my PA sent the script to a pharmacy I haven't used in years, which I had already updated with Fairlawn at my last visit, but THEY left it in the system. I called back and proceeded to ask if it could be transferred to my local pharmacy because I am in so much pain I can't drive long distances. I can't move my neck to switch lanes or sit up for long periods of time, etc. No empathy provided. Just Rebecca taking the phone and coming down my throat full force. Rebecca took the phone from the receptionist and proceeded to yell at me. "It's not Fairlawn's problem you have multiple pharmacies on file" - my response was "it was because I updated them during my last visit." I also reminded her that my prior medications a few months ago were sent to the correct CVS, why wasn't this one? She did not have any answers to my questions. She proceeded to say to me "every time you call you have an attitude." That is bullying and took me back. Especially because the last time I was in the office, Rebecca told me to drop her name if I wanted my boyfriend to become a patient, even though Fadi wasn't accepting anymore. Why extend that olive branch to a person that's always a problem? Gaslighting as its finest. Ethics complaint will be filed with the state when I am contacted with Rebecca's remaining details. Upholding patient autonomy, beneficence, and justice means respecting a patient's right to self-determination (autonomy), acting in their best interest (beneficence), and ensuring fair, equitable treatment for all (justice). My best interest was not acted in, Rebecca's was. Bullying me and threating to withhold medication is in direct violation with Rhode Island's Healthcare Ethics.

During the screening, a nurse calls to ask some basic questions. Then, another nurse calls and asks you to schedule a drive-by test. She tells you how it will work and what time to arrive. 2) The toughest part about the test was finding the place! To find this on the GPS, type in 3620 Pawtucket Ave, East Providence, RI. Otherwise, you will be zooming past it and not know where to park. 3) I spent maybe seven minutes waiting behind two other cars. A woman greeted me and had me show her my driver's license. I then drove up to the tent. There were two people in gloves and N95's. They gave me a pamphlet and made a few jokes. They seemed pretty perky for people administering tests. She told me that they would be "tickling my brain for a couple seconds." I appreciated the humor. 4) The swab was tiny. Probably the width of two hairs. It was in and out of my nose in two seconds. Not very painful, but slightly uncomfortable. They put the swab in a plastic bag and told me that they would call me in 3-5 days. Overall, a good experience. I was nervous going in, but the staff made me feel comfortable and didn't treat me like I was some kind of infectious monster. My insurance covered it, so it was free for me with no copays! I'll definitely go back if I feel like I need a test again.

I was due for a checkup Jan 2015, and I found this group, 12 minutes from my home in Cranston. I called on Monday morning at 8:00 and I had an appointment scheduled for that afternoon. Twice since then I have had an "emergency" --horrific cough, and sciatica. Both times I have been seen that day with 1/2 hour the most I had to wait. I have seen my PCP 4 times and the two occasions where I needed to see someone that day, I saw two different Docs and they have ALL been wonderful. They are all women and they all do family practice. OBGYN, Pediatrics, and adults. Try them----you'll LOVE them!!!!!

We still have an appointment but we didn't know that because our friend suggested we just come down and then what happened was she filled out all the paperwork and stuff for us so that we were able to apply right away and not have to wait. You should hear something soon but she was just amazing. I believe her name was Liz, but she was just out of this world. She was in the VBA office in the basement, but that did not take away from her ability to do things and to get stuff moving in the right direction for him. Looking forward to hearing back from them.

Things like prescriptions for non-service related needs are billed to his health insurance which have a copay and/or coinsurance. The VA does have a difficult time getting and keeping qualified physicians. He has been assigned a few PCP's over the years and he has requested a change in PCP in the past, which has been done for him. The staff here are pretty laid back in their patient facing interactions. Appointments often run behind schedule, so be sure to 'check-in' with the appropriate people and do ask questions. At our last appointment we had to 'take a number' which wasn't communicated in any way (phone call when making appointment, paperwork, a sign in department) so maybe ask for clarification (just sit down?) even when it doesn't appear clarification is needed. There are also a number of volunteers who can assist you or point you in the right direction. This facility has many on-site services such as lab, pharmacy, EKG, X-ray and so on. Other services are offered at satellite locations throughout the state. They have an urgent visit office on site, open during regular business hours. Outside regular business hours, if you need urgent treatment, call their after hours line to find out what facility is covered by the VA and located near you. We did this once while traveling in PA and were directed to Pittsburgh. As that was about as far away from us as home, we opted to cut our trip short and drive home to use the VA. Not always a convenient option, but if you use the in-network facilities you won't get an unexpected bill. Which is good to know. A new parking structure has been built near the hospital helping to relieve parking issues. The drive up entrance is handicapped accessible and there seem to be a few parking spots in this area as well. Just inside the entrance is a staffed information desk, If you need assistance or directions, stop here. The lobby is a sunny area with a few seats available if you are waiting for a patient or for a patient to wait while you get the car. Many patients are older and use walkers or canes. The halls can be a bit dark, but many are wide and signs overhead give an idea of which corridor will lead to your desired destination. There are vending machines around, usually near waiting areas and public restrooms scattered throughout. Last visit there was a little shop set up near a waiting area selling military related gear like hats. I have found that when a medical service is needed, they do try to provide good care in a timely fashion. Some appointments may not be available quickly due to limited resources, but in the past couple of years, as funding for our VA has increased, more services have become available and appointment times are quicker. Having several Veterans in the family, past and present, I feel taking care of our Vets is a societal, moral obligation and I appreciate that this facility and those working or volunteering here are trying to provide appropriate treatment for our injured and/or ageing military vets. Any medical care system can be frustrating to navigate, especially when resources are limited. Having patients and asking lots of questions in a calm manner can go a long way. Those volunteers, who use the VA themselves, are an excellent resource of information. Stop by the lobby and chat one up. They are there to help.

We called ahead and asked if they had X-rays and they told us yes. We got there at 6:20 and I was discharge at 7:55 with a diagnosis, a boot, a follow up appt, and I had a confirmed fractured foot from the x-rays they took. Every person from registration to x-ray to discharge and everyone else in between was pleasant. They seemed to genuinely care. At one pointy adrenaline finally left my body and I broke down crying. A nurse happened to walk by and came back with a box of Kleenex. Great job everyone!

Suite C, 2nd Floor Miriam Hospital The Fain Building…read more First of all,this is a teaching facility for student doctors doing their residency and as such, you need to really keep an eye on everything surrounding your care, your medical history, your medication history, be sure to read all of the doctor's notes after your visits to make sure everything is correct because more often than not these doctors in training make things up that have no bearing on your life or condition. I have caught them listing false information in my medical history alleging that I suffer from mental health issues that my psychiatrist never diagnosed me to have and she should know being a trained specialist in her field. They add information on their notes that doesn't apply to you and mention medications that you are not taking which prove one thing ... they are not listening to patients and writing falsified information on your permanent records and when you ask them to correct it, they tell you that you have to go to the records department and request modification of those notes which takes months because as I was told by the Manager of the records department, there are thousands of patients with the wrong information in their files ... a class action lawsuit should be filed against this hospital to force them to do things correctly. I recently (July 7, 2023) had an appointment with Dr Chirag Mehta at Suite C, I met with him for two reasons, my blood work results for my Cholesterol/Triglycerides were elevated an cause concern with Type 2 Diabetes. I asked about being put on Ozempic, I wasn't. Here's the concerning part, Mehta's notes mentioned mental health issues that I have had years ago and am no longer being treated for, he listed a medication that I haven't been on in over 5 years, and he wrote about things that weren't even discussed in the office, I recorded the entire conversation. I wrote an email to Christine Duffy, the head doctor who's license runs and covers all doctors working in this section of Miriam Hospital. I explained my concerns about what he put in his notes and that none of it applies to me, she referred me to contact the records department to remove the wrong information. I mentioned to her and gave her the information needed to give her access to my medical records and test results. I explained that I am type 2 Diabetes and that I asked Mehta to put me on Ozempic. Christine Duffy contacted Chirag Mehta who examined me on July 7th, this is what he told her ... Mehta told Christine Duffy that I don't qualify to be on Ozempic because I am not currently taking a Statin for my cholesterol and triglycerides. I told Christine Duffy that I am and have been taking Atorvastatin 40mg for the last 6 months and that Atorvastatin is a High Intensity Statin and is listed in my current medications in my records. Duffy is telling me to discuss this with Mehta and I told her that I will be consulting with an attorney to file a lawsuit against Suite C, her and Mehta for failure to properly care for me,failure to provide proper treatment and other issues. Please be advised that the people who are in charge of Suite C and who work under the direction of Christine Duffy are putting your health and lives in jeopardy, I have all the evidence needed to back this up. Do yourself a favor, check your records, all doctor's notes and make sure that you are being given the correct medication so that they don't cause your life to be shortened by their careless behavior.
