Ok so, I have a nice sword that was made in Oaxaca by the guy who made the swords for the Conan The Barbarian movie. The hand guard at the handle is an eagle biting the head of a snake. I took it up to the 5th floor because I wanted to put Ruby's in the eyes of the eagle. I sat down with Carl and we went over options, real vs manufactured, low grade vs high etc. I had a budget of $600 and he found a pair of beautiful Ruby's for $600. Perfect, I leave the sword and wait for his call. A week later Carl called me and I went straight over to pick it up. I get there and Carl has this kind of sad/anxious look on his face. That's when he hit me with it, "I quoted you the wrong price, it's $600 for each stone not $600 total". I'm now thinking I can't pay for this now and they're already installed. He then continues, I know you had a budget and if I got it right you would have turned down the $1200 price tag. So, I'm honoring my quote of $600 and here's your sword. I didn't know what to say, what do you say? I had made some extra side $ the day before that was my pocket money for the next week. I pulled out the $100 I made and handed it to him. He tried to refuse but I placed it in his hand and let go. I apologized and said that's all the money I have. He thanked me for my business and gained a customer for life that day. And a big promoter, as I love showing off the sword and telling the story. It made 2 people that I told it to go buy their watches from him. read more

I purchased a Woman's Rolex Christmas of 1990 from American Jewelers. Glad I did. She loved it. When my Rolex was damaged in an accident, American Jewelers helped my get it repaired at Rolex. The owner was very kind and honest about an inherited piece of jewelry I had appraised. It was worth far less than I was told by the family member from whom I received it. American Jewelers kindly let me know it was a beautiful vintage piece with a man made ruby, quite popular in the late 1890s. I was told to keep and treasure it, but that it had minimal value and thus, was not worth insuring. I thanked him for that and still treasure it, a gift from my late father. read more

If you're looking for high end brands such as Tacori and Rolex, then this is your place. As for the diamond vault. Yes, it's there. And yes, most of their engagement rings have inset CZ's. This is very normal. Most people pick their setting, pick their diamonds, then have the ring made. If you're looking for something specific they will have to order the diamonds, but it takes just a day or two. Went engagement ring shopping after hearing the commercial about their "huge diamond vault" with every shape color and cut in stock. In reality they don't keep any diamonds in stock and the ones you are looking at in the settings are CZ. I was looking for an Asscher cut, and left my information was told I'd be given a call back when they found one within a day and never heard back. I guess they don't like to make sales their either.
