This is one of my go-to breakfast and coffee places on the weekends. The croissant sandwich with soft scrambled eggs and cheese always hits the spot. The croissants are always fresh, buttery, and flaky. The eggs are perfectly fluffy and never rubbery or watery. The iced latte is definitely better than Starbucks. It's either theirs or CafeIn I enjoy immensely in this area. Their quiches and savory sandwiches are a must try. The cafe is right near the superchargers so it gives me a good excuse to visit. Also not far from home, which helps. Right off of 267 and convenient to access too. Parking is ample and free as well. Really. What not to love? read more

Before going to Roggenart, we took a look at their food menu. We planned to get something to eat, then take a pastry home for later on. Their menu needs to be more descriptive. For example, I decided to get the smoked salmon omelet. However, it ended up being a pig in a poke as they didn't list all the ingredients. So, after ordering it, I cut into it and found a massive amount of raw red onions. I'm no fan of raw onions. So I pulled them out of the omelet, leaving small pieces of smoked salmon and a mild cheese. This dish also came with toast and butter cubes, which were difficult to spread on the toast. My husband ordered the "grilled corned beef Reuben". This item does have an ingredient list: "corned beef, sauerkraut, mozzarella cheese, and Thousand Island dressing on sourdough bread." It was well toasted, but lacked the Thousand Island dressing. Ordering works this way---you go to the counter and place your order. If you are eating in, you are given a number to put on your table. When the food is ready, they bring it to your table. You are expected to dispose of your trash, which we didn't mind. The staff is friendly. The vibe is like an upscale coffee shop, with indoor and outdoor seating. We were here on a Sunday around 4 p.m., and only a few people were eating inside and outside. We took home the last Boston Creme Danish, which consists of: "Danish dough baked to golden perfection and filled with vanilla custard. Crowned with a chocolate drizzle and powdered sugar." To me, it was the best part of the meal. That pastry was really delicious. It did a good job of mimicking a Boston Cream pie. We split it in half and had a cup of tea with it. We might return, but try something different. BTW, parking can be a bear: when you enter, you now have to take a ticket, and then when you are ready to leave, you might meet with some delay: the ticket reader might malfunction, or someone might not know how to use the machine, causing a backup as it did the day we were there. However, there are two ways to leave the parking lot. When we left, there was quite a backup, so we used the exit near the Tiki Thai restaurant - there was no backup there. read more

Shsssh! Don't tell the crowds. This is a nice quiet place to grab coffee and relax in a quiet shop that is nicer than most in the area in terms of furniture and ambiance. Plenty of seating. Great place to work, read and check emails/texts. I had an Americano, which I liked. I have not tried the food but they had an extensive selection of yummy looking deserts and offer sandwiches, salads and breakfast items. I will be back. read more

Finally visited Roggenart for a cozy late morning reset. Had a simple oat latte and warm chocolate babka. The coffee was just okay (they use Lavazza), but the pastry was SO good. The employees are friendly. The café is spacious with plenty of seating to get work done. Wanted to check out this new cafe in the area. I must say it was very underwhelming. The inside of the restaurant is designed with a wood decor - walls and tables. A great vibe if you wanted to go and do a little work. As for the food, it was pretty average and nothing spectacular. I got the "One of the Kind Roast Beef" with a Full Roasted Beet Salad. Not anything to be wow'd about to be honest. The food took a long time to come out. I was waiting maybe 15-20 minutes for just those 2 items. Something to try once to experience it but I wouldn't say this is the best cafe bakery place in the area. read more

Great little euro-style coffee café next to Cooper's Hawk. I enjoyed a croissant sandwich with egg and cheese, an almond croissant and a latte. The regular croissant was lovely but might have to try the marzipan croissant next time as the regular almond croissant was a little lacking in flavor. As a veggie, I appreciated that they had several vegetarian sandwich and quiche options in addition to the pastries. There is a ton of open seating and lots of natural light from the windows, so I would recommend this place for a group coffee meet up. read more

The pastries look amazing! There is inside seating. They just opened a few weeks ago. Staff was actively replenishing the fresh pastries. It right in the middle of lunch hour yet only 1 staff member was taking the orders and ringing up the sale. On to the pastries... I picked up a variety of the "highly popular" croissants. Were they 5 star quality? No. They are bigger than other bakeries. The plain butter ones were not as buttery as other places. They were not overly flakey. I appreciated that. Would I drive out to Reston for more pastries? Probably not. There are other options closer to my home. read more

The menu and photos online looked good, but I found the items in the case less exciting. Many looked downright yucky. But I was hungry and wanted something. Came here for an iced cold foam coffee today and a pastry. I would definitely come back for the pastry. However, I would never order the coffee again. It was the most disgusting tasting coffee I've ever had in my life. It tasted burnt and old and a little bit like bourbon to be honest. It was so gross. read more

Pros: The ambience of the place is nice; it being newer, it was fairly quiet, but I could see myself remotely working here again. I also loved the comfy chairs. Cons: the sandwiches were extremely basic and looked nothing like the display images; it's deceiving. I feel I could do more with Wonder Bread and liquid eggs at home. 2/5. The pastries were a bit better and the coffee was nice. 4/5. The air conditioning though was blasting on a cold day, and according to the server, this has been going on for a month. Decided to try this new cafe with my son on his way to the metro. Nice atmosphere and the pastries look delicious. We opted for lunch sandwiches. He got the prosciutto and fresh mozzarella and I got the chicken avocado melt. He said his could be a bit more salty. I like my sandwich but feel like missing a piece of bread. Hard to eat holding like a sandwich. Guessing I am supposed to eat with knife and folk. Overall it was a good experience. Food was good and price is reasonable. The ambiance of this cafe is very relaxing. Light jazz music in the background. Tasty pastries and good coffee. You can get your coffee in a mug if you are dining in. I really enjoy the atmosphere and presentation at Roggenart, but the service felt a bit disorganized during my visit. It's nice that they bring the order to the table, but it would be preferable if everything came out at once. We ordered two egg and cheese sandwiches, two coffees, and two pastries (which we had asked to be warmed up). The sandwiches arrived first, then about ten minutes later the coffees, and finally the pastries another ten minutes after that -- and they weren't properly warmed. This staggered serving made the meal feel less coordinated. Also, while the plates are beautifully designed and very stylish, they aren't the most practical for sharing. It would be great if additional or more share-friendly plates could be provided. Overall, the food is tasty and the cafe has a great vibe, but the timing and service could be improved to make the dining experience smoother. I hope service improves in future visits. read more

Decided to try out this new addition to the neighborhood. Nice warm and welcoming vibe, decorated for the festive season. Enough seating and tables, plus cozy seating around the fireplace. Love that there are book shelves (a free community library??) around the fireplace. Good menu with delicious looking pastries. Opted for Spinach and tomato quiche. Very hot. Would give 5 stars, but the pastry crust bottom was soft. I guess they reheat in a microwave? The quiche was filling and had great flavor. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Such a charming bakery with an inviting atmosphere! From the cozy seating to the fireplace tucked in the back, it's the perfect spot to slow down and savor a sweet treat. We tried the lemon danishes, dark chocolate mocha, and passion fruit hot tea. All were great! The staff was so kind and welcoming, and we ended up chatting and relaxing so long that we didn't even realize the store had closed, but they were incredibly gracious about it. Seems like a good spot to get some work done, too. Can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu! read more

We saw this recently opened 2 weeks ago and wanted to try it out. Went in 10 ish on a Saturday. We wanted to stop in for a quick to go coffee and pastry and we were met with a 20 ish minute wait in line and then 20 minute + wait for our coffees, pastry and quiche (which was the wrong quiche order). The pastries are tasty and fresh but organization was horrible. They are scrambling around and don't have an efficient system in place even though they had at least 6 staff working. My biggest suggestion would be to get management or owners to help them restructure or find a better process that will improve speed and efficiency. People were waiting 20+ mins for simple iced coffee orders. Nice new cafe, everything looked tasty.
