This place is great! Was next door at cycling place and saw the word "bakery". That gets me every time. Did not spend much time with anything else but zeroed in on bakery on left. I was not disappointed, there were dozens of different pastries and breads, more coming out from the oven. I bought a decent selection and the family loved me for it when I arrived home. Fresh, flavorful, and great friendly staff!

I went to Herndon's Bodega and Bakery for a last minute cake. I was able to get a cute 8" cake for about $30. While I was there there was gentleman leaving with warm bread in a bag, which made me curious and I found that this bakery bake fresh Pan De Frances (which is basically the bread used to make tortas (sandwiches). The bread costs $0.50 each (I bought 12=$6) which I thought was a steal. The bread was fresh from the oven and you can go to the back left corner where the bakery items are, knock on the door and request however many you want/need. They also have fresh donuts, Salvadorian bakery items, cookies, mini cakes. It was definitely worth the trip. They also custom make cakes I saw someone leave with a hugeeeee baby shower sheet cake that looked to serve over 100 people easily. I would definitely recommend this place!

still sticking to my initial review of this place! great bakery/bodega in the Herndon area next to a cycling shop/cafe. I still order my cakes from here from time to time and they deliver delicious, beautiful cakes every time. customer service is on point every time. what more could you want?

This place is horrible, they sell born cakes, the strawberries born with green algae, you should check if you buy here, really disgusting.

10.02 Needed a cake for a coworker's farewell lunch. Came in on a mission to bring the cake to work at noon, I had 30 minutes to get back to Reston. The line at the counter was long when I walked in, by the time I chose a cake there were only 2 people left. Took 10 minutes for the whole transaction, 2/3 of the time I was trying to decide which pretty cake to pick. When I finally did, the lady boxed it up at the counter and rang me up. Badabing badaboom... I was back in the office ahead of schedule. Verdict: everyone loved the cake. It was light, moist and perfectly spongy for a cake. The flavor was tres leches which can be too sweet at times but not this cake. The frosting was so airy with just enough sweetness. Cake was so good I ate 4 slices and refused to feel guilty gorging. Parking was limited and cake was 50, expensive but worth every penny.

Minnie Mouse birthday cake made fresh for my birthday girl.

Such a hidden gem. I requested a Minnie Mouse cake for my daughters birthday on Sunday. I came in and left a deposit, told them what flavors, etc. when I came to pick it up I was blown away. The cake came out perfectly, exactly as pictured. The cake was flavorful, not too sweet and not dry. I chose chocolate with chocolate crepe filling. I will order another cake from them next month for my sons birthday. Give them a try.

I used to come here for pastries one a weekly basis. Now that I move I try to go from time to time. For eight years now they still a killing pastries place, have a variety of them most of them don't know what their name is but I do know how good they taste

We dropped in for a birthday cake and it was fresh, beautiful and entirely scrumptious, not too sweet. The cake was moist and the icing was perfect.

I genuinely couldn't choose between the Cuban cortado and the drip, so I ordered both -- zero regrets. The cortado was spot-on, perfectly pulled, and the drip coffee was clean and genuinely delicious. Not the kind of place where coffee is an afterthought. Then there are the pastries. The selection is honestly overwhelming in the best possible way -- so many options, all looking incredibly fresh because they were. I went with the onion croissant and it was absolutely out of this world. Our whole group was happy with everything they ordered, across the board. But the ambiance is what really takes this place to another level. The space is stunning -- soaring ceilings draped in drop pendant lights, giving it this lofty, airy feel that somehow manages to be cozy at the same time. There's an upstairs room to enjoy your coffee and pastries in that I never made it to, but now I have the perfect excuse to go back. The staff was warm, gracious, and genuinely lovely. Château de Chantilly isn't just a bakery -- it's an experience. Highly recommend.

I ordered an almond milk latte and the avocado toast without feta. The avocado toast was SO good, the avocado tasted really fresh and they used the perfect amount of balsamic vinegar. Also loved that they had packets of hot sauce available. My son got a bagel with cream cheese and my partner got a bagel with butter and jam plus a chai latte. Only note is that the bagel came with a ton of cream cheese, so if you don't like it piled on, I'd recommend asking for light cream cheese. Overall we really loved it and would definitely come back when we're in the area again!

The Brownie double chocolate cookie is hands-down my favorite and tastes like a fudgy brownie. The dark chocolate chips just melt! The Classic Chocolate Chip cookie was a bit too sweet and tastes like a sugar cookie with chocolate chips. I wasn't a fan of the Cookies and Cream Oreo cookie. The Cina-Cookie tastes like a buttery Snickerdoodle cookie with cream cheese filling. The Birthday Bash cookie was fun to try, but quite sweet and loaded with sugar. Highly recommend warming up the cookies in the microwave for 20-30 sec, they soften up and taste like they were just baked with that delicious ooey gooey texture. The chocolate chips just melt in your mouth! If you get delivery, the cookies are stone cold. Delivery takes 2-3 days after placing an order, even local shipping takes a full day. While it was fun to try the 4 pack of cookies with delivery, it was just too much and I was on a serious sugar overload. It would be nice to have an option to only get a set of 2 cookies with delivery. The cookies just don't taste as good cold even with reheating and it's better just to get the cookies at the shop. Will stop by for the Chocoholic double chocolate when I'm in the area. Happy to support this small NOVA business!

Important reminders: each MidnighTreats cookie weighs over 1/3 pound! They're enormous, and for sure big enough to split (... to share, sure, or just to enjoy yourself later; they even recommend cutting them in half before freezing them [if they last that long]). PRO TIP: you *have* to reheat them before eating them (otherwise the flavor/taste/texture just isn't the same). Build your own box for currently $30 ($20 plus $10ish for shipping), and some of the flavors change each month. We've tried... + Birthday Bash (funfetti rainbow sprinkles cookie): personally, I like the nostalgic flavor of generic "birthday cake" that's recently become a thing, and I think they do a fantastic job capturing it! + Strawberry Shortcake (shortcake cookie smothered in strawberry icing): This was the taste of summer I needed. So bright! Just the right amount of sweet! And they definitely didn't hold back on the icing! +/- The Classic (a blend of dark and semi-sweet chocolate chips): compared to other vegan chocolate chip cookies that can be shipped to your home, this one's actually one of the better ones! +/- The Chocoholic (fudgy double chocolate chip cookie): you have to REALLY, REALLY like/be craving chocolate for this one. - Cookies N Cream (oreo bits with chocolate chips and vanilla chips): this one was just okay, and I take the blame for missing that it contained white chocolate chips which I am not a fan of. It says they're vanilla, but that's not what they taste like to me. - The Cinna-Roll: I believe the recipe for this one has changed over the years, because it used to be a cinnamon roll flavored cookie with cream in the center (and there was *barely* any of it, making it a very dry, very boring cookie). It seems it's now a cinnamon roll cookie smothered in vanilla icing, so I just wanted to make sure I had corrected info here. Other things of note: they've donated thousands of dollars to animal sanctuaries across the country! they've planted close to 20K trees with reforestation projects! they've donated thousands to local schools and shelters in their NOVA community! How can you not love a company who's built in giving back to their community in their core principles?!

We had them later that evening and we were quite impressed with them. They were moist and flavorful. In fact, we think they had improved since we last tried them. Since we liked them so much, we decided to visit the store in Herndon and get some more. The "server" (that's what the sales clerks are called) in Sterling gave me a punch card when I bought the cakes there so I remembered to use it at the Herndon store. My first impression of the Herndon place was very positive. It was very clean and well laid out. To me, it had a very welcoming vibe. The server, Katerine, was very friendly, patient and helpful. She let me know that since I was buying at least 4 bundtlets, I would get a free insulated bag that held up to 6 bundtlets. I ended up buying 3 lemon ones, 2 red velvet and 1 classic vanilla. She was sure to update my punch card. Then she told me that if I filled out a survey that was mentioned on the receipt, I would get a coupon for 1 free bundtlet. Once I was home, I did just that. Also, I signed up for their "eClub" which gives you a free bundtlet on your birthday. All in all, a great shopping experience that had me leaving with a smile on my face.
