The inside is bright and cheery with small goods from local vendors. There are tables and chairs but no comfy couches/cushy chairs, if that matters to you for your coffee hangout experience. There are bagels, scones, and a few other pastries to accompany their expansive drink menu. Yes, they seem to specialize in their really unique flavor combos for lattes, but they also have the coffee basics and teas. The digital menu board scrolled through the menu a bit too fast for us to see, so we had to ask the lovely owner for advice. She has the specialty drink menu printed but I wish there were either an online menu to view via QR code or full printed menu at the shop. Luckily, she was extremely patient and helpful. Everyone who popped into the shop was greeted so warmly, many clearly regulars. I think this speaks volumes about the quality of both a product AND the people who serve you. We came in to celebrate our anniversary and were greeted with a smile and a knowledgeable barista who walked us through each drink, and gave his personal recommendations. We were able to have a great conversation and he was so attentive and he actually listened and cared about what we were talking about. Nothing really stood out to me, especially for the price. The espresso tasted pretty bland, and to me, the beans didn't taste as fresh as I expected. I'm not saying the coffee was terrible, but it definitely wasn't anything special or memorable. The ambience is cute and has a nice vibe, but I also felt like they were lacking in variety when it comes to their menu options. For me, there's definitely some strong competition in the area. I personally frequent Coffee Emporium and Wyoming Coffee Shop, and based on my experience, I prefer both of those over 513. Overall, I'd give 513 Coffee Shop about a 2/5. This was just my personal experience, and I'm always open to trying a place again because sometimes one drink or one visit doesn't tell the whole story. But for a nearly $7 latte, I expected more -- especially from a drink that was supposed to have marshmallow flavor.
