The boutique was very comfortable and cozy. The service was excellent starting at the moment you walked through the door. Rolling out a red carpet would make it better. I really enjoyed the story explaining the operation and the push for excellence. Analog pushes to make every barista to be better and to push the envelope. The mission is to have an environment where you want to see all baristas instead of the "favorite one". The means the team will work to all be at their best and consistent with the signature and seasonal menu items. Another unique feature is that each barista is responsible for creating an exclusive drink for the menu which refreshes every 6 weeks. This is legitimately your non-Alcoholic bar in the way they operate. A cool thing was the crafted drinks have their own personal stories attached to them and are not from chat gpt or google inspiration. Aside from the coffee focus Shelby was able to provide some great recommendations for the area and providing a local insight. Me and my wife had been recommended this place by a friend, and we will definitely be back! Devon was our barista today, and made the experience so much better than ordering a coffee at a normal shop. We came in to celebrate our anniversary and were greeted with a smile and a knowledgeable barista who walked us through each drink, and gave his personal recommendations. We were able to have a great conversation and he was so attentive and he actually listened and cared about what we were talking about. We had a short vacation in the Newport-Covington area around the July 4th holiday and I was excited to see that Analog was open. We did not have a reservation for the bar, but were still able to be seated by a friendly barista (as long as we could exit by the next reservation). During our visit, Analog was featuring beautiful art-inspired creations. We ordered the Mondrian (raspberry, blueberry, and lemon flavors) and Rothko (toasted marshmallow, blueberry jam, and mint) espresso drinks. The combination of ingredients in each drink was perfect; really well balanced, and the ingredients all served a purpose (not just there for visual impact). I especially loved the toasted marshmallow cloud on my Rothko drink, how it melted into the espresso. We also ordered the shortbread trio to snack on, which was a great deal (3 little buttery shortbread cookies for only $3 ). It was fun to watch the barista assemble all of the super-neat art menu options; like watching a scientist or mixologist perform magic. Analog is just a smaller, 6-seat concept bar inside the larger Carabello Coffee shop, but worth the visit for a one-of-a-kind espresso experience. Update (2024): I have been visiting Analog for many years. Aside from special events, it has always possible to just walk up and order a drink. I tried to visit recently and had a very poor experience: when I attempted to order, my order was refused and I was told I would need to "book a reservation" which required waiting over 45 minutes to order one cup of coffee (???). I cannot imagine any person in their right mind that would be willing to do that. The customer service here used to be good... Asking people to "make a reservation" to order one cup of coffee approach is just absurd... there is no other coffee bar in the city that acts so self-important. It's such a bizarre thing to do for a business to turn away customers while the barista is standing there idle. I saw this happened to multiple other confused customers while I was there too. Analog used to be so fun and exciting -- instead, this newfound pretentiousness is annoying and exhausting. I won't recommend it to people like I used to after this experience. It's sad to watch something that was once so fun start to act like it's suddenly a Michelin Star restaurant... it's a cup of coffee, it's not that serious... a barista can easily make more than 6 drinks per hour... Jason, the barista, aka coffee magician was so joyful and knowledgeable that everyone was all smiles even before tasting the coffee. I tried Opa's Pfeffernusse Cap and it was indeed one of the best cappuccinos I have ever tasted! I understood the true meaning of analog because after my first sip, I had to ignore my work for a moment to just sit and ponder the flavors. The aroma of the citrus and star anise set this drink apart from the ordinary. The menu changes seasonally and I cannot wait to go back and try another creation! read more

This is the BEST and GREATEST coffee experience I have EVER had. I didn't think i would have been able to have such a unique experience. First, you approach the coffee shop like a bar. You sit down on this lovely high top chairs and you get a menu. Sean, the creator and manager of some of the items on the menu was an exceptional host NOT ONLY to the service but to the PRESENTATION. He was so thorough in explaining about the beans, the process, his interest in coffee. I enjoyed a couple of things from there, one was the Heater which was PERFECT for the winter weather, with a bit of a cinnamon kick and was just perfect for warmth. Then i had a lovely double espresso shot. He also offered us chocolate from Iceland and it was delicious, so i had to buy a bar. I've always envied the people enjoying the fancy coffee drinks at the Analog Bar. I'm a regular at Carabello, but often, I'm just visiting to sit down and crank out some work. When I had a friend in town, I decided to head into The Analog Bar and sample some drinks. Austin, the manager of Analog is a master of his craft and a true delight of a human. He made some great drink recommendations. The "Cold Fashioned" is one of my favorite drinks there. We also shared a syrian cappuccino which was delicious. I love the Analog is meant for you to actually sit back, enjoy the coffee, and actually slow down and smell the roses (or at least the coffee). Whenever life allows me to next, I'll definitely come back to Analog to enjoy some more fancy coffee drinks. read more

Wow what a fun experience! Shawn, the bar manager, was great! All the drinks we got were super tasty. I particularly loved the Winters Eve. The coffee punch was very unique and tasty as well. This is the place to check out if you love coffee and experimenting. It's intimate and personalized. You can get a variety of unique drinks. It's like a fancy cocktail bar for coffee. They have a menu but Austin will also make you something off menu based on your preferences. Or he can just surprise you if you're totally open. He really has an amazing talent and it was so fun to watch him work. There are only about 6 seats at the bar but you can also order from him and sit at the nearby tables. This spot is awesome!!! This is inside of Carabello Coffee in Newport. It is a designated 6 seat bar. You can order an individual coffee drink or you can do the tasting menu. My husband and I have gone twice and we did a tasting each time which includes 4 drinks and one food item. Everything was delicious and unique. The baristas are super friendly and knowledgeable. The menu changes every few months so make sure to check it out more than once for new delicious drinks. These are not your usual coffee drinks. They have homemade syrups, hot sauce for coffee, and they use alcohol free spirits to make unique cocktails. You can reserve a spot at the bar online if you plan to go on the weekend when it is busy. Slow your roll and swing by this artisanal coffee experience. We had no idea what to expect as we didn't read reviews or really check their website/facebook. A rare blank slate experience. So when we first showed up, there were already people at the bar and there was no room for us. Ok. No worries. We bided our time in the regular Carabello area with a small latte. Once the crowd cleared, we temporarily had the coffee bar to ourselves. I don't think this happens often. We spoke with the wizard barista Austin about our coffee preferences, which honestly, are quite open, and he poured a very unique and almost odd coffee that was tea like and smooth as silk. Prices are reasonable and average. Heck, you probably spent more at $tarbucks for average coffee. Austin really really knows coffee so I would think that he could craft a drink perfect for any palate. This whole experience is not for those in a hurry. I mean, HELLO, it has slow in the name. This part of Carabello is for those that really want to savor and enjoy their beverage in an almost nerd hive of coffee connoisseurs. Yeah, feel free to take a photo or two of your drink for the 'gram or whatever social media is your fancy, but make it quick. The analog part of the name is almost a plea for people to put away their screens and freaking enjoy human interaction and conversation. A rarity these days for sure, and I am guilty of burying my head in a screen too. So thank you Carabello/Analog for providing a new coffee experience. It is a paradise for coffee lovers like me! Coffee bar where you can sit and order an extravagant caffeine-based seasonal rotating concoction and/or get to interact with a serious pro barista. The Analog slow bar is a very spacious and fresh addition to the locally beloved Carabello and offers the one on one interaction with a very appreciated knowledgeable barista. I booked a seat online and came expecting something like a short lecture and a demo, but it was actually much better and more personal. Austin was the Barista On Duty :) and it was a real pleasure to observe him making some seriously impressive latte art on cortado with donut-soaked milk. Per his recommendation, my husband and I tried one blend of coffee extracted 2 different ways. Mind blowing! The aroma, taste, body was so different! And it was just extremely cool to see the glass percolator they utilize, almost like an alchemy class. We also enjoyed a different blend of coffee extracted with aeropress, that I have been eyeing for a long time. The coffee was delicious, had some wine notes and made me wanna immediately buy the aeropress for work. Apart from getting a rare blend of specialty coffee, you can also order a special rotating drink. The October's special was a cortado made with donut-soaked milk or an old fashioned cocktail where alcohol is substituted for cold brew. So inventive! Overall, not an everyday thing, but a very very special affordable treat. So amazing and well supplementing the 'standard' Carabello experience. Highly recommended! read more

Analog Coffee Slow Bar in Carabello was probably the single most enjoyable coffee experience I've ever had in my life. It's going to be really hard for me to overstate how much fun I had at the slow bar, but it's the truth. I'm telling all my friends, and now I'm telling you Yelp...If you like coffee at all, and want to learn more and have the most delicious espresso drinks in town, get here ASAFP! The slow bar is the only one of its kind in the Cincinnati area...I think you would probably have to go to NYC or Chicago to find something similar. Basically there are only 6 seats, and you sit in front of a master barista as they teach you about the different beans, roasts, brewing techniques, and espresso drinks that they can make. I would equate it to sitting at the chef's table in a restaurant...But your chef is a barista! I made a reservation online using Carabello's website for Saturday afternoon, but the lovely couple sitting next to us just walked in and sat down, so I don't think reservations are necessary all the time (maybe make one just to be safe though). Everything on the menu sounds delicious, but my number one piece of advice is to get the Baristas Choice 3 course tasting experience ($12.50 for one person, $20 for two people). We got the tasting course for two people and split it. You get two brewed coffees and two espresso drinks, plus a dessert (we chose the honey vinegar pie from O Pie O because DUH). For $20 that is a downright steal! I don't want this review to be 100 pages long, but a few things to consider: Think about trying different brew methods than you've seen before in the past (most coffee shops do their pour overs with a Chemex...Maybe try the Siphon method!). Also, their signature drinks are to die for! We got the Chai This! latte which was the best chai latte I've ever had. Our barista, Austin, was amazing and super friendly and patiently answered all of our questions. We spent an hour and a half here, but I could have just stayed all afternoon! The Analog Coffee Slow Bar is such a neat experience! You can order off their menu or reserve a seat at their six top bar online. You can simply order whatever drinks they have on the money which changes monthly. Or you can talk to the barista, tell him what type of drinks you like and he can make some suggestions OR he can whip you up something off the top of his head. For $12.50, you can get two coffee drinks with a dessert. For $20, you can get two drinks each for two people with a dessert to share. The dessert is a generous portion of chocolate cake or their special for the day. I had mentioned that my drink of choice is typically a caramel macchiato. For my first drink, the barista made me a latte spiced with cinnamon, bourbon maple syrup and caramel. It was delicious. Second, I got a "portado" which was essentially espresso with a sweet potato reduction and toasted marshmallows on top. It was so cute and delicious as well. But never fear - if you're in the mood for cold drinks - they've got that too! A couple next to me ordered some fun cold drinks, one of which included the barista smoking a cinnamon stick under the glass! Guess I'll just have to come back and try more options! Basically seconding everything everyone has already said about this place. I regret not taking any photos but I'll do my best to recall. I go to Carabello quite a bit and had always wanted to try the slow bar. Came here on a Friday night around 7 and we were immediately attended to by the friendly staff. David was our barista and he was just an angel. The September menu was a compilation of fan favorites from a survey they distributed. There were 4 hot drinks and 3 cold ones. You can get 4 drinks and a dessert for $20 which is perfect to split. I can't remember everything on the menu but I remember what we ordered more or less: 1. Coffee & Donuts Cortado I think is what it was called. Shot of espresso with like donut infused milk wowwww and a couple little donut holes from Holtman's. David made the milk into a little swan and it was so cute. 2. Tres Leches Cortado - Espresso and condensed milk and sommmmething else I can't quite remember. Of all the hot drinks we tried, this one was my favorite. 3. Summer Camp - hot chocolate and a marshmallow from Quaintrelle and like black sea salt. The coolest part though was that they smoked a woodchip inside of a glass cup before pouring everything in there so it smelled like a campfire. Real crafty. 4. This last one we just asked David to surprise us. It was like an iced espresso thing with cinnamon and vanilla bean syrup and it was reallllly good. This one was my favorite. There was like one piece of some lemon cornmeal blueberry pie indulgence from Brown Bear that we had and that was hnnnnnng. David was super friendly and attentive. He took the time to explain everything and even shared his story a little bit. I definitely would go back for the experience. He said there would be some pretty interesting drinks coming up for the fall that are not to be missed. Very good. read more
