Yup, 1 star. The pros- it's the only indoor skating rink around. The cons- ohhhhhh boy. Parking lot is riddled with ammo casings. The carpet inside is sticky, stained and looks to be 10 years old but the duct tape patching is top notch. The games that give ticket are in need of work. Say 20 games to play , 8-10 are out of order. The roller skates. I shit you not, I asked for kids size 13 and I was given a pair of skates with holes at the toes. I looked at the kid and asked for a pair that was still intact. I get their rentals but if they have holes where the stitches have busted open, throw them away. Cmon man! I get that this business employs tons of high school kids, but the dj Layin down funky beats should be past puberty. Crackling high pitched voice on extreme volume through the speakers mounted in the walls is defining. As a parent, it's sad to see the options that are available for kids birthdays always seem to be a wreck. Roller kingdom, chuck e cheeses, just stop. Have a party at home or go to more taken care of places like. Coconut bowl, or jump man jump, or even the gsr. Food was marginal. Prizes were close to unattainable.... Service was pushy and full of pissy I'm forced to have a job attitude. But a high note, if you collect shell casings or reload your own ammo, the roller kingdom parking lot is a great place to stock up on brass. read more

Came here to Reno to visit and planned a Groupon for this place weeks in advance. Then when we get there we were not allowed to skate because the place was booked for the hour. They should post their parties on their website to let people know when not to come. I asked for a refund or to pay without the Groupon but was denied and rudely turned away by the manager. Our son wanted his birthday party here, so we agreed. However, it is the most UNorganized venue that we have ever had a birthday party at!! There is absolutely NO communication prior to the party, except when you pay of course! If you request pizza for your party package, according to the manager, (who had an incredible bad attitude), the "owner" (who lives in California) says EVERYONE automatically gets pepperoni pizza unless the customer asks for cheese. This would not have been a problem if I would have been asked, but I didn't find this out until we went into our, VERY poorly "decorated" party room and saw all pepperoni pizza! Then we had to wait another 10-12 min. for our cheese pizza. Mind you, we only get a firm 45 min in the room anyways! And apparently they also take the liberty of choosing the soda you will be drinking. Before we arrived I asked if we can bring in our own cake, well, no problem there except for the fact that they do not have any forks in the building what so ever, so I would recommend bringing your own! I think the best part of the whole party was when we were done with the "party room". It is too rushed and totally overpriced! (And I don't mind spending the money on my kids birthday parties at all) This place is NOT worth renting a party room at..Not to mention they do NOTHING to make your child feel "special"!! If you are going just to skate, it's fine. However, the place is old, dirty and the video games they offer rarely work. Out of all of the staff, who are mostly kids, only our party host, one girl behind the snack bar counter and the DJ were even remotely nice. The rest of the employees either had a horrible attitude or the personality of a door knob! I would NOT recommend renting a party room, if you must have a birthday party there, it is a much more relaxing environment to just get there when they open, bring a few tablecloths and grab some tables in the main seating area. You won't be rushed and you definitely won't miss any "extras" they supposedly offer if you book a party room! Good LUCK!! read more

I WISH I could give this place NO stars!!! I was EXTREMELY disappointed by this place. I scheduled my 5 year old's birthday party here. When I arrived, we were 20 min early, only like 15 people in front of us. We went to the table to get everything situated, then got in line to get a bunch of 3-6 year olds some skates... They ran out of kids skates that go on the bottom of your shoe... (mind you within 30 min of us being there) So, I pay extra for a party and they ran out of kids skates knowing I was having a 5 year old party. :/ So I said no big deal, I'll just get all the kids those tubes that they hold on to while skating... NOPE, ran out also. There were kids who were 10+ using them. That was just the beginning!!! In the party room they got the pizza set up and on plates, good job there. But that was IT, I am sending people out to track someone down to get silverware for the cake. We are running late because I couldn't cut the cake or pass it out. So then I am rushing to get the presents opened before I run out of time. NOT only that but it was so packed that the little kids at my daughters party was getting knocked down by these bratty teenagers. With NO supervision. I have never been so upset with a business, This is my first time writing a review and sadly it's a terrible one. read more

I visited this place on a Sunday evening. The decor was very out of date, the venue has a plethora of arcade style games, but some don't work. The skates they rent out could definitley be updated. I had one pair with a wheel that went to the right, then a pair that went to the left. With a little TLC, this place could be a gem! read more

I give them minus stars! The people that work here are extremely rude!! A kid fell down and I heard the guy tell him to get up and move or take his skates off and get out. I couldn't believe my ears! They also told our party they could come in and wait then proceeded to ask why they thought they could come in without paying and told my friend she needed to watch her attitude when she walked away because he was so rude!! Very disappointed in this place and mostly the "manager" (if indeed the person was the manager). I certainly would never treat customers the way I was treated today. Tried to use one of the toy machines and it took $1.00. I assumed since it only took 4 quarters that that's how much the toy cost....wrong. Apparently it takes $2.00 but the machine was not marked. When the "manager" was confronted she was the rudest person ever. I was told, "oh well, too bad" and I was refused a refund. 10 minutes later I was handed $ .50 to complete the sale (since all I had on me was $.50 and I did not want to break a $20) but not without rude comments and a sarcastic "have a nice day"! What a way to run a business. I will not be taking my 3 kids back there, I'd rather play in the park than in that hot, humid, smelly building. read more

Terrible, just terrible. If you buy tickets in advance and from out of state/town make sure to "Check their pamphlet " in store to make sure you come in on the right day and time. Quoted by the manager. We came down from out of state to enjoy our time in Reno. The "Manager" as you can say, came to us while putting skates on. Note their was No signs of a private party on the doors, no one at the cashier stand. She, and a woman came up to us rudely telling us to leave. Once we apologized for our misunderstanding she rudely said ok, no apologizes for confusions on her part or anything. As we tried to talk to her about our problem she said " we can't discuss this until you leave the arena" walks and watches every move we do, when we stated she needs signs and a employee to announce to everyone who walks in that there is a private party. She rudely grabbed a pamphlet and just said look at this and it'll obviously have everything here for us to know. Horrible service, no apologizes, rude customer service. An unorganized establishment and terrible customer service. Stay away! read more

I'm so glad Reno has a skate rink. When its freezing outside there are not that many choices to go. Skating is fantastic exercise. My Son and husband have both lost weight skating and its so much fun! The music is awesome. For a reasonable price you get to exercise for a few hours! Compared to 1 hr bouncing somewhere else. Also great place to have parties. My son luved having his party here. Staff are also more positive, helpful and professional than other indoor places. Its worth the drive for us to go there. I luv seeing the big smiles on my kids faces as they zoom around the rink. The staff that work there seem to like working there and enjoy skating!! read more

I came here for one of my good friend's daughter birthday. She turned 2, she had gotten the birthday package for the kids. The day we went, there was 5 other parties. It started out good. Having a place to sit for the birthday party was better than I had hoped. Then it went downhill from there. Roller kingdom is the only place in Reno for indoor skating so I'm not sure if they reinvest into their business but I think that the carpets and the facility itself has not changed since they opened. It's dark and smells like feet. Roller kingdom rents out pvc pipes on roller wheels for the kids that can't skate on their own yet for 5 dollars. They rented us one for one of our kids and we went to go grab one they didn't have one available. We were told to come back and check to see if one was given back so we can have one, and if it wasn't they would refund us the money. Well we check several times during our skating time but they didn't have any available. I went back to the front to get a refund of the 5 dollars. They hassled me and told me that I should have came up after there wasn't any available to get the refund. Then they told me that they wouldn't have sold us the wristband to get the skate helper if they didn't have it. I calmly explained to them what had happened and that I'm here to get a refund. The disgruntled employee finally gave me the cash. They also ran out of kids skates. So half of our party didn't have skates. They had a pile of skates in the back that are just piling up because the skate repair guy hasn't been there for a month. Finally during the party the kids failed to get their ice cream that is part of the party package. All said and done, this place is always busy because the kids love coming here. They really need to reinvest in the future of the place. read more

I would like to say a friend of mine was injured at this roller skating rink recently. They have handle the whole thing very unprofessional. The floor needs to be done and is not up to code at all!! Now is in a night mare mess trying to get claim info for there injury at the roller rink. also they failed professionally on how to handle accidents on the floor. Letting other people skate around my friend while they were writing the accident report and was trying to force to call for medical help. when my friend was breathing and all she need was to be escorted off the floor in a wheel chair and they didn't have one. They instead carrying my friend off the floor. until they found an old office chair to get my friend into my car so my friend could get medical attention. Very unprofessional. The main manger is very rude and unprofessional as well. We will never go back. It needs to be closed down until they tear down the whole building and upgrade the whole building. Its a waste of money, Yes its cheap to get in to the door. But It sucks and you get the cheap crap you pay for!! The snack bar is super expensive and over priced! read more

Here for a birthday party and amazed at how filthy everything is. The bathroom should be declared a hazmat site. Not suprisingly, children don't notice and have a wonderful time. I would say the seventies throwback decor is awesome, but it's original seventies and not well kept. Again, my child is having a great time! Lights, music, games and lots of fun. Ownership is extremely rude, and needs a lesson in customer service. Don't expect to file a complaint and actually have your concerns addressed. All you get is a defensive attitude and treated like you did something wrong. read more

This place needs to upgrade and fix a lot. Everything is still the same from when I was a kid. Rental skates are old, the shoe laces are too short you can barely tie them. The rink itself has bumps and worn through areas that if you're a beginner you lose balance. Saw a lot of this yesterday. The party rates are ridiculous for what is provided. The gift bags I'm pretty sure they buy from the dollar store. They don't have air conditioner or won't turn it on. They brought a dirty dusty fan into the party room to at least get some air circulation. Arcade game were all pretty much broken. Very disorganized for party planning. Prepaid and were telling me I didn't and need to pay full amount AGAIN. Had to pull up bank info for proof that it was in fact prepaid. Very disappointed that this place is the only skate arena in our area to go to. If they make some upgrades and get more organized, there's no doubt business would improve. read more

What a dump. Unorganized and uninterested employees when you are lucky enough to actually find one. The floor hasn't seen a vacuum in years.

If you want a magical night of fun filled roller skating while listening to a lit mix of tracks, then Roller Kingdom is by far the best night time hangout venue. Before entering, an employee must check your bags for supposed contraband, which is very much appreciated, given the vast majority of children visiting the establishment. The bag checker here was not only extremely friendly, but also very thorough in ensuring customers were not bringing in any suspicious items. In regards to the roller skating aspect, I was immensely impressed. Not only was the music being played extremely satisfying, but customers are even allowed to request their favorite tracks for a mere fifty cents! Rap songs ranged from Truffle Butter to The Motto, and the employees were careful to ensure that the clean versions were being played in respect of the present children and middle aged skaters. The fellow customers attending this establishment were also very friendly and respectful of one another. Additionally, the employees were clearly very well trained in their occupations and duties. Certain ones were extremely experienced in roller skating and could perform impressive tricks, such as flawless spins, and sharp jumps. I was even inspired to purchase not only my own roller skates, but also knee pads and elbow pads so I could improve my skills for my next visit. I was also impressed by the exquisite customer service given by the friendly, sincere employees. Upon leaving the establishment, a kind Roller Kingdom personnel informed every leaving visitor of the next skating special and encouraged them to return. The quality service given by the employees, along with their immense amount of apparent training in all aspects of roller skating was greatly appreciated and will undoubtedly ensure my return in a mere few days. I recommend Roller Kingdom to anyone wanting a lit night of intense skating and a turnt music playlist. read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid. Haven't been back in about 6 years so we bought a Groupon and came down for a date night. They run in sessions so unless you want to pay extra, you get a 2.5 hour session. They finally let us in 10 minutes late. The credit card machine went down which is always understandable but we wanted roller blades and needed to pay extra to get them. Instead of comping us the two extra dollars for roller blades since the credit card machine was down, they just wouldn't let us get any. We settled for roller skates and went on our way. The music was spotty, it would play and then stop and then play. They only played one game while we were there, red light green light. While normally a fun and challenging game, the announcer was too quite so you could not hear him and he wouldn't say green light hardly ever so we spent the majority of this 10 minute game just standing still in the middle of the rink. The cashier was rude, the skate rental ladies were rude and it was overall a pretty bad experience. I've been in customer service for a long time and I am always sympathetic to fellow customer service workers and try not to be that person that complains. But I would expect a customer to complain about my service if I treated someone this way. It's a very old run down skating rink on a Saturday night, at least try to make it half way fun for customers. read more

I love this place!! Two months ago I got a coupon a free lesson for up to 6 kids! I brought my grand kids for the lessons and skating. We have been coming back weekly since that first lesson. The teachers and the staff are all wonderful, I recommend Roller Kingdom to all my friends. This grandmother is back on skates after a 40 year absents. Yes, the place is a little out dated. I find it quaint. I get to step back in time and share it with my grand kids. read more

This place for skating is not bad however their service leaves much to be desired. I had bought a groupon for two entries, skate rental, and two slices of pizza with a drink. I showed them my groupon on my phone (there is a mobile app that says it's fine to do this) and the girl at the front was quite rude to me saying that they don't have a scanner for those but they'll accept it, but don't do it again. (geez how am I suppose to know that???) Also, this was about the third time I had tried going here. In the past I had gone during their posted hours of operation but they would then would say they're closed for an event once I got there, when the event wasn't posted on their website! In fact it says on their website that they only do private parties during non business hours! So after finally getting in with a rude welcoming me and my little begin skating and that is fine. We then decide to have the pizza with our groupon and I ask for a cheese pizza (I am a vegetarian) and they say they're out of cheese pizza. I explain that I am a vegetarian and ask if they can make another one, they say no, so I ask well can I get a food item that is equal to or less than in value to what a slice of pizza is, they say no. So I am forced to get a slice of pepperoni and peel off the meat, which made the pizza still taste like meat. My little who eats meat agreed that the pizza was not tasty and that was an underwhelming experience. Overall I wouldn't go here if you're looking for costumer service. If all you want to do is skate and not interact with any employees, then you'll probably be ok. read more

This would have been a five star review, but its a four. The reason its a four star is based on our personal experience: awesome entertainment, fun to hang out at, and their staff are great!!! Unfortunately their giving ice policy sucks. My sister injured her back, and the employees couldn't give her or me ice unless they had a managers approval. So to get ice I had to purchase a drink, dump the soda out and wait for the manager. By the time he was available he saw us and was upset by the fact that my sister had said that there policy "f-ing sucked" when she couldn't get ice. Now I'm not saying what she said was fair to them, but giving the circumstance that she fell backwards and landed on her lower back, I understand why she said that. The fact that (s)he reprimanded my sister for cussing made me very upset. In fact the only reason why they're getting four stars solely based on their friendly staff and the fact that my sister and I had a great time. In my personal opinion I think that they should have at least an assistant manager during crowded hours. read more

My kids went to Roller Kingdom tonight to meet up with friends and a great time. Unfortunately they were taken advantage of. There were thugs in there that stole my daughters friends phone and my daughters charger. They had put everything in a locker. Which at that point you would think that your belongings would be safe. When the girls told security which boys do they think stole there phone he said oh those boys are in here all the time and we have heard that they steal! My husband went down to confront the owner but he could only speak with security They said they were sorry but this happens all the time. And these thugs have been coming in here for awhile now and that they have had tons of complaints about them but they have never caught them red handed because they have look outs that watch out for them then the thugs hand off the stuff to other people then leave the premises. My husband asked don't you have cameras? The guy said that the owner Brad Armstrong doesn't want to spend the money on security cameras. Can you believe this not only do they continue to let these thieves come to Roller Kingdom but the don't want to do what it takes to make it a safe place for children. They basically told us we have to warn our children when they come here to watch there back how scary is that. I would STRONGLY suggest not going here! I will make it my Mission to tell everyone I know about how HORRIBLE this place is and my kids will not be coming back. As adults we need to give our children a fun and safe environment to hangout and be kids. Do not let your children go here. read more
