I'd like to highlight their exceptional customer service. I frequent this location primarily…read morebecause of the excellent service and their menu options that accommodate my food sensitivities. Being able to accumulate Que Rewards is an added bonus. We often visit on Sundays because my husband loves the complimentary Blue Bell ice cream. The servers always greet us with the brightest smiles when offering Sunday ice cream and fresh, hot bread. There is ample seating, including comfortable booths. When you arrive, you order in line, pay at the counter, and then choose your seating. They also have a private room in the back that's available for events. They've graciously allowed us to use the space annually to host the Fort Bend Junior Service League informational meeting. The room is even equipped with a TV for presentations, which is incredibly helpful. I especially enjoy the music they play on Sundays -- it creates such a feel-good atmosphere. What's not to love about BBQ? My go-to menu item is the ribs meal, though I occasionally opt for a combo plate. My favorite sides are the potato salad and green beans. My husband is a fan of the pinto beans and can't get enough of their fresh, fluffy bread. We visit about once a month for lunch or dinner -- and it never disappoints.

I'll admit that the dine-in experience might not have encountered the hiccups we ran into for takeout so we should give leeway for that. The restaurant has a casual vibe to it and the staff is energetic and friendly. We ordered a 3 meat plate with brisket, baby back ribs, and mild sausage. For the sides, we had mac n cheese and coleslaw. We also ordered a peach cobbler with ice cream for dessert. While waiting for our order, we were offered drinks and their dangerously yeasty dinner rolls. Here's our verdict on the food. Brisket - the slices from the point were nice and tender but the slices from the flat were a little dry. Could use a little more seasoning. The people who got the flat raged this brisket lower than the other 2 places and the people who got the point rated it 2nd place. Baby back ribs - these were good Sausage - wasn't my favorite since it had the consistency of a hot dog and not a lot of flavor other than salt Mac n cheese - very unforgettable and bland Coleslaw - too sweet Peach cobbler - good but my sister thought there was too much crust Overall, it's an ok BBQ place with some hits and misses and good for a casual night out with the family.

Banana pudding pie was yummy and not too sweet. Staff is so friendly and cordial. Indoor seating with powerful ac. Lots of fresh veggies and pickled options. Some parking in front. We drove out and saw a Jack in the box nearby and shook our heads that people who don't know are eating there instead of here. Knowledge is power. My only regret is that they don't have this in LA. Will definitely be back to try other menu options.

My experience here is why I tend to not frequent BBQ places, I hate being disappointed. The barbecue sauce (the signature and regular) were not good at all. Neither tasted like BBQ sauce. One tasted like tomato sauce with seasoning and the other tasted like a vinegary Tabasco sauce. The brisket was okay, nothing super impressive but no complaints. The queso might have been the most egregious issue (after the BBQ sauce) imagine paying $11 for tasteless, unimpressive, liquid cheese. Nothing in it but cheese and prayers. Adding the brisket (1/4lb for ~$9) along with a variety of other seasonings, made it okay. Ironically, reheating it after a few hours made it actually taste a bit better (enough to justify the price? Absolutely not). The mac and cheese was equally tasteless. One thing I think the Pit Room does EXCEPTIONALLY well is making pickles! These were delicious, seriously I'd go back just for the pickles (only the pickles).

Killen's never disappoints…read more Their beef ribs were just short of amazing. Juicy, succulent, tender. For a giant piece of meat on the bone, they worked wonders. You can ask to see the piece of rib before they cut it for you and they will happily oblige (patrons behind you might not be so thrilled with that move, but they'll live). Sides were excellent as were the mashed potatoes with white gravy on the side, green beans that were just tender enough, but also a bit crunchy. Perfect. They were seasoned with pork, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip it. We also ordered their shareable onion rings, easily enough for three people that were huge, hot, and crispy. Let's get this out of the way, some of their prices are a little up there, but if you're anything like me, and don't frequent BBQ places often, it's a rare but enjoyable treat. Sometimes you have to splurge and live a little. Also, they have their regular sauce on tables, but you now have to ask the cashier for their sublime coffee BBQ sauce. Don't be shy, ask. It's worth it. Oh, pro tip: If you want beef ribs, the 'plate' is actually cheaper and a better deal than 'by the pound', so save a little money and get two sides.

The restaurant is cute and they do their best to keep the service consistent throughout the entire visit. The BBQ was a little dry but good. The disappointing part of the trip were the sides. 95% of the sides had pork in them which made the entire wait not worth it. This was my first time visiting and it will be my last.

Oh my goodness-that is far and away the best potato salad I've ever even been in the vicinity of-much less able to pound a spoon into over and over. The tator tot casserole is like a hug from the sweetest granny in the land, and the corn pudding and Mac and cheese are pure fire too. Have to say, not much of a fan of tipping for counter service-but this place DESERVES it. Once you sit down with your fabulous feast-there are the kindest servers bringing you everything you could possibly need-from to-go boxes to drinks to desserts and they are SOOO happy you're in their restaurant-had to pull out some extra cash (I did tip at the cash register) because these dudes deserved more for their genuine hospitality and friendliness. Bar looks legit but it was only 11 so I decided next time I'll do better and grab a drink with dinner. Yes the queue was long at opening but moved quickly and obviously was well worth it. There are no frills about this place, it honestly just feels like your ma and pa shop. There are a few seats at the restaurant, I think this is a good spot for you to order to go. Here's what we ordered. I got the Fried catfish with green beans and cabbage and my friend ordered the chopped beef sandwich with fries. I definitely had to get some kool aid as well. My fish was cooked to perfection. It was fried hard & the batter was crispy. The batter didn't miss a pinch of seasoning. Probably one of the best fried catfish's I've had. The green beans and cabbage were forgettable. Seasoning wasn't really there except for heat. My friend sandwich was decent. The bread was nicely toasted with butter. The meat could've been more tendered but not bad because it was seasoned. Maybe a little salty but better than bland. The fries was definitely made in house and it was delicious. My kool aid was made just right, sweet. Overall, it was very good. I would come back just for the catfish. They definitely made it with love. Next time I'll try something different along with the catfish as well. Shoutout to Regina, I think she's the owner/manager. Great service.
