Brisket - we ask for fatty brisket but it came semi lean but was still good with their bbq sauce dip Ribs - semi chewy, worth a try Texas hot links - delicious but beware it's spicy Corn - buttery and yummy Dirty rice - super tasty and very good as a side dish with the meats Mac n cheese - soak in "sauce" - cheesy delight German Chocolate Cake - not too sweet and fluffy Tip - pay cash if you can. You will be charge 8.25% tax and another odd "state tax", then on top of that a non-cash charge. You can save all those extra charges for tips if paid with cash. We didn't know till it was too late. I visit this establishment on 08/27/2024 , I use to eat here years ago and remember it was good especially their bbq baked potatoes , so after looking at the review I was like why not try it today , I went in , definitely changed a bit ( remolded a bit) from over the years, people playing dominoes, music playing in the background, a nice ambiance, the lady who served me was nice and that's why I rate it 2 stars , as for the quality of the food not so great , I ordered a baked potato & a rib plate , the baked potato had literally ( small scoop of meat) I had to find , a bunch of cheese on top that wasn't melted ( which is strange if the food came out hot, and not a fan of the shredded cheese that was used) with a bunch of bbq sauce and sour cream on top, for the rib plate the meat wasn't a great quality meat and very small , when we originally got it we sent it back because they automatically put bbq sauce on your meat ( in reality, real bbq establishments don't put bbq sauce on meat , the seasoning, flavor and smokiness speaks for itself, while bbq sauce is just a add on and usually on the side) and when purchased years ago it was on the side so not sure what changed , w/ the rib plate it comes with 2 sides , a desert and a drink , which is a great compliment however the sides we ordered , was supposed to be dirty rice but it just tasted like ground beef w/ white rice no flavor (not close to dirty rice) and the desert we opt into was a German chocolate cake , took a piece of the cake and can tell it has been sitting out for days , not homemade more of a box cake and dry , after this experience the quality of the food has went down hill since the original owner , and not sure if I will ever return. They aren't lying when they say Greatest Burger!!! The burgers are old fashioned made to order 100% real beef! Been eating them from here for about a year.... But today... I was very disappointed with my experience. I ordered via DoorDash. There was no option to customize my burger. I ordered anyway but called the establishment and attempted to customize my burger. I was greeted by a very unpleasant person. I told her I wanted cheese and that I was unable to add it in the DoorDash app. She told me, cheese is extra! I said I realize that but I wasn't given the option. I told her if I can't add cheese on the phone (for free) then just cancel the order. She said let me check and call you back.... After 10 minutes and no call, I called them back. I was finally told ok ma'am we will give you some cheese. I then took the time to reiterate my order saying no onions, no ketchup. ...... my order arrived via DoorDash in a very timely fashion. I have dined at this restaurant and supported it since 2001 when I moved to Missouri City, Texas. This restaurant was recommended to me by a very good friend and I am so glad I was introduced to wonderful food and the friendly owners. The owners are Janice and Wayne Edwards and they have been in business for over 25 years. They have a steady stream of customers and most of them are repeat customers. The restaurant lives up to its name. It is truly the "greatest" barbecue I've ever tasted! The food is excellent; the meats are very tender and the secret sauce is made from scratch. The daily menu consists of ribs, brisket, homemade sausage and chicken. The barbecue is delicious with or without the sauce. The food is reasonably priced and you receive large portions. The service is excellent and I recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends. Growing up we ate potato salad with our barbecue and it is hard to find someone who makes really good potato salad besides our parents who are now deceased. I am very skeptical about eating other people's potato salad. But, this restaurant has the best garlic potato salad. The garlic potato salad gives the whole meal a unique taste. And if you have a sweet tooth, why not try some of their famous, delicious, and jaw dropping homemade cakes and tea cakes. There is the lavish lemon cake with a lemon glaze icing, a mouthwatering German Chocolate cake, a melt in your mouth Strawberry cake, a Nutty Italian Cream cake to name a few. Don't leave without dessert or you will surely miss a treat! My personal favorite dessert is the homemade lemon cake which always leaves me wanting more. It is so addictive that some customers have more than one slice in a sitting. These cakes can be ordered as a slice, half sheet or full sheet cake. For our family gatherings and special occasions such as birthday's and anniversaries, we always order at least a full sheet lemon cake. The lemon cake rarely lasts more than a day around our house.
