The best place in town. You're always greeted with a warm smile and asked how your day is. Your seated quickly and the waitress and waiter come quickly and take your order. The food is made fresh and never premade. The breakfast, the make sure there's enough food for you. If you leave hungry it's your fault. As far as paying your bill they always make sure you are attended to immediately and asked how your experience was. I highly recommend the place. read more

This is a nice local restaurant where I go for breakfast and lunches often since none of the hotels are serving hot breakfasts anymore. The feel of this place is that of an older restaurant but it's not a diner feel but almost of that like an old Italian restaurant or something like that. The omelettes here are pretty large and they come with several sides so bring your appetite. The service here has been friendly and other than maybe one time where the meals took a little longer I've never had any complaints. Enjoy! read more

My family and I got off the highway and we were a little hungry. We spotted Rolling Meadows restaurant. We weren't really expecting much, just standard roadside fair but boy were we in for a surprise. The service was great, the food was amazing, and the prices can't be beat. The owner Nettie was a very courteous and attentive waitress. It was a Friday and we got some fried fish that was amazing. My hamburger was huge juicy and perfectly cooked. My wife's tuna melt was spectacular she says. We highly recommend anyone in the Fond du Lac area give this restaurant a try. read more

Betsy, our waitress was AWESOME. She got us flavored creamer, Caramel machiotto for me and French vanilla for my husband. We both had the California benedict..yum. I added potatoes to mine. On the way out of town I stopped for breakfast and this was the place. Clean wit quick friendly service. The inside had a comfy palace feel. I was seated right away and my order taken. From in the door to food on table was less than 10 minutes, impressive. The young woman who took my order said the ham was ham off the bone, WRONG. It's not but it was still good. Hash browns were crispy. The eggs were perfect and the toast was regular wheat. This was a solid Greek breakfast place. read more

Worst experience ever the manager there is absolutely awful. We got cold food and were told they could microwave it. You don't spend that kind of money to eat microwaved food. We couldn't get plates, didn't get enough silverware, couldn't get coffee refills. Then the manager tried to hide from us to not compensate us for our cold food. She never introduced herself as a manager. Awful experience outrageous prices can definitely spend your money elsewhere. Use to be one of our favorites not anymore. read more

Like the vast majority of "family" restaurants that can be found in most towns this place does an ok job. The food and service are both just middle of the road-not bad but nothing that will blow you away or you couldn't find at a million other places. Part of the problem is that they try to cater to everyone with meals spanning everything from breakfast to sandwiches to Mexican to Italian to Greek and back to traditional diner favorites. While I rarely hit this place for lunch or dinner the family and I will sometimes grab breakfast here. They do a solid job and I do really like their pancakes but ultimately they don't do anything to make themselves stand out among the million other mediocre restaurants out there. read more

Do yourself a favor and pass on this place. I've been here a couple times before and the food quality is marginal at best. It's proximity to home is what made me come in, in the past. Today I walk in with my family. Our group walked in as I held the door, another couple walked in right behind as I continued to hold the door. They of course do even bother saying a simple thank you, but what do expect, it's FDL. Anyhow, I rejoin my group as we wait for a table. The waitress walks up and proceed to seat the couple who came in after us.....wtf. We mentioned that we were next and quickly received a negative response. Opps, guess it was our fault. I have eaten here twice and was not disappointed. They treat you like they want your business, fat x seating, fast service without hoovering over you and good food. I don't know how the waitresses are in the afternoon or evening but I used to go here for breakfast...as I say used to... Our waitresses were nothing but rude and disrepectful. Out of the five to six times I have been here for breakfast, the waitresses we had were unkind and didn't refill our coffee or other drinks and check to see if we needed anything. I even sat there waiting for a half an hour one day for a to go box for the food I couldn't eat. We would still be sitting there had we not just blurted out that we needed one. My last encounter there was yesterday and we got done eating and the waitress brings us our check after having crappy service and than asks if there is something wrong with the staff. After asking what she meant she responds with well we notice you guys never leave a tip and we were wondering what's the problem. Number one if you weren't sitting in the back by the coffee bitching about your co-workers or customers and paid attention to everybody and number two actually did your job there would be a tip... You don't do that in front of other customers and you don't do that period. If you think there is a problem do it in a professional matter...needless to say we left without leaving the tip and we are definitely not returning back. read more

Dreadful. A salad made up of white lettuce. "Swiss steak" that is a soggy piece of ground meat with a soggy sparse coating of breadcrumbs drenched by a runny reddish sauce full of green pepper. Yuck. Even the iced tea was off -- I could no drink it. When the server finally checked back and asked how it was--after we were finished--and I told her how awful it was, she said I should have said something sooner. I told her I would have but she had not been back since delivering our plates and she lied and said she had checked back a couple times. Then she chuckled like it was a joke. Horrible food. We arrived at this restaurant at 5:10 PM today (August 18, 2013). We were seated and served drinks. We ordered our food at approximately 5:20. Another couple came in about 15 min. later. They were seated and waited on. Another couple came in about 15 min. later again....they too were seated and waited on. We watched the waitress bringing food out to first couple that arrived after us...wondering when (if) WE would ever get served. The waitress obviously saw that I was starting to get irritated when she said "Your food is next." I replied with "That's great, but we've been here for 45 min. now - and that couple arrived after us." She apologized and went back to her station. She came out with a tray of food - not for us - but for the couple that had arrived 30 minutes after we had! I suggested to my husband that we leave as it was nearing one hour of sitting in this booth with two hungry children that were getting restless. After one hour passed, we received our food. By the time we got our food, three couples that came in after us - three separate groups of people - had ordered, eaten, and left. We finished our food...and waited about 10 min. for the waitress to bring us our check. Since we didn't have another hour to sit there, my husband took the kids to the truck and I asked the hostess for our check. She immediately apologized for the long delay we experienced and said it wasn't typical for their restaurant. She indicated that a large group had come in for a funeral and the kitchen staff just got behind. Had three other separate groups of people not come in AFTER us and not been served FIRST, I'd have believed her. As it was, I pointed out her obvious lie and left. Oh, and did I mention three out of four orders were WRONG. I'd like to say Rolling Meadows offered to compensate us for this horrible experience, but then I'd be guilty of doing what the hostess did - lying. We won't be back. read more

First off if I could give 0 stars I would! I am very disappointed. I was very excited to eat here until i saw the menu. Overpriced would be sugar coating it. I spent $22.75 on breakfast. One cup of coffee cost me $2.00! My server was awful not only did I not get the correct order, but my chicken was cold! I payed $5 dollars for a milk shake after getting a dirty look for ordering it! She remarked and said "I already took drink orders". She had taken drink orders already and had come back with drinks. At this point half of the table had no idea that drinks were ordered! Then she had the audacity to charge a 20% tip to my already very pricy bill! A 20% tip is what I would give for excellent service not for poor overpriced service. My husband and I went to Fond du lac and bought a motorcycle. We were hungry and decided to stop and have a bite. We got seated and there was another couple behind us. Well, as soon as they hit their seats a waitress came and addressed them. We sat for over 5 minutes. No one came for a drink order or nothing. I caught this server's attention and asked if we were getting any service. Well, our waitress was filling salt and pepper shakers and doing side work. Didn't acknowledge we were there. The other gal took our drink order somewhat rudely. Our server finally took our order. We waited 10 minutes and the first gal delivered it instead of our server. There was a feeling of animosity there. I ordered a steak sandwich and it was overcooked(I ordered medium rare). It was grizzly and chewy. My husband enjoyed his breakfast though. I used to work here years ago and it was super busy. It was lunch time and there was 5 tables in the whole restaurant. I am very disappointed. Never going back. read more

A great family restaurant. Simple food and great service. We ate breakfast and it was great. Simple and cheap. Nothing fancy, but a basic family restaurant with good food. I obviously would not go here for a nice dinner, but its perfect for a quick breakfast or sandwich. The staff was very friendly and were on top of things (always refilling drinks and checking-in on us). I love to find places like this when I travel. You get a good sense of who the people are who live in the community along with your quality meal. I would suggest this to anyone visiting Fond du Lac (especially if you are staying at the Holiday Inn across the street). read more

We usually stop in once a month and we went on Friday night not alot of people there. My daughter ordered the usual Belgian waffle and sausage she enjoyed as always. I usually only get breakfast here but saw the lasagna on special for 11.99. I thought it was a little steep but sounded good. I received the salad which was great. The meal came and there was a burnt piece of garlic bread that I had to scrape the burnt off of. I took one bite itt was hard as a rock and left it sit. The lasagna was very hard to cut and the noodles were so chewy. It was like they took it from the freezer and cooked the heck out of it. I did not eat but 3 bites. I told the waitress that it was the worst meal that I have ever had there and they really should not serve this it was so bad. She said she would tell someone never did took my plate and put it in the garbage where it belonged. She never told the manager/owner and he was sitting 2 tables over watching his basketball and eating his sandwich. I am sure he heard me tell her that it was not good and he did nothing. It will be awhile before we go there again and when we do I will go back to the breakfast eggs, bacon toast etc that they really can't rune. read more
