I have had my awning for about 20 yrs. I had some small problems over the years but all and all it worked well. I remember terrible customer service even back then as it was tough to get them to stand up to their install. They will sell the heck out of their product, but give you a hard time when something is wrong. I needed new fabric in 2017 as it was starting to fail over the years. I went to their office to see what I could do as the frame and mechanical parts were about 20 yrs. old. I sat down with the owner Murray Braun and he sold and sold and sold how they would refurbish the entire awning, change any old bolts, or mechanical parts that might fail. He sold me new roof brackets and new fabric. I paid $2,400 for the entire job and was told I would have it back in about a week. They came over, took the old awning down and took it with them. They left a mess of dirt and parts in the yard. Because of scheduling problems I got it back in about 6 weeks on August 28th. This June 2018, as I was sitting under my awning, a large bolt fell out of the arm that connected the front frame. The bolt was sheared off and showed heavy wear and rust. I paid for them to check the entire awning system and refurbish it. They obviously only changed the fabric and cleaned the parts. The arm slid out of the fascia and was hanging. I was able to roll the awning back completely and called customer service. I explained it was an emergency as the arm was just dangling. I was told that they would get back to me tomorrow. Tomorrow came and I called before closing and was told that were catching up on their service calls and would be another day. I called again the next day and got someone on the phone to discuss the problem. I told them to change both plates as the other certainly would fail as well. They set up a service appointment and the 3 guys that came to service the awning said they did not have that part. I waited most of a Friday for them to look at it and leave. I told them on the phone the exact part that was needed and what was the problem on my first call. I called back and let them know I was annoyed and they came back the next day. Three different guys showed up and could not install the new parts that they brought because they did not fit in the old awning. It seems they did not have parts for any old systems and were trying to fabricate something that would work. They found some old parts in their truck that might work. They banged the hell out of the plate with a hammer to get it to fit. It did not go in as easy as it should have. They left grease marks on the frame as well as the fabric with dirty hands, etc. They did clean it after me asking them to, but how hard is it to just clean your hands or wear gloves so you don't dirty a customers awning. Their tools were all in one box where they couldn't find what they needed and were overall very unprofessional. The lead guy certainly did not want to be there. If I had the parts, I certainly would have rather changed it myself. It was not that big a deal. I will say this about Rollup Awnings. They have a pretty good product, but do not stick by that product as they should. They sell it very well and promise the moon, but give you a hard time when something goes wrong. They certainly were not truthful on what the process of refurbishing their awning would be. Murray Braun told me my new refurbished awning would last another 20 yrs. I doubt this will be as there are many parts on the system that can still fail and I doubt they will come back again to fix them. You might want to try another company if you can find something comparable as they are very expensive and you just have to hope nothing breaks. And if anyone at Rollup reads this I would say this. Smile when a customer enters your showroom, sound like you care about them on the phone, be truthful about your product and get workers that are trained correctly and show some respect to the customer and their property. Terrible. They are rude and unprofessional. They cancelled confirmed appointments on two separate occasions on the day of the appointment with no explanation. Then I was screamed at and hung up on by the owner when I was attempting to make a new appointment the guy has serious anger issues and I have never been spoken to or treated so poorly by a business owner. Very mean people work in this business ! They don't want to help you if you have a problem with "their" merchandise! They don't want to hear anything you have to say , all they tell you is how expensive it is to fix your problem and how much work it takes to fix it, they make it sound like they are outside in 90° degree weather using a jackhammer! I had a problem with them years ago , nothing has changed ! They are Glad to take your money on install but won't ever correct a problem down the road without reaching into your pocket ! Our awning was installed in a very unprofessional way. The large bracket was way to industrial and adhered and sealed with black glue like material. Very unsightly. The awning functioned well. It needed servicing and the bill was $149 for a rotted metal eye, $99 for a plastic not sophisticated remote, and $179 for the service fee!!! Total ripoff. I called to complain. I was very upset and told the service people to check with her supervisor before calling me back about that I would complain to the BBV if this was not addressed. I never raised my voice but knew they were going to be difficult. The service people were very good. The owner called me back yelled at me and then fired me. Can't make that up. TERRIBLE. read more

I recently had Rollup Awnings install a large motorized awning over my deck and I am very pleased with the experience. First I believe that their product is superior to others on the market. It is more expensive, but seems better designed and made. Second, I have found every employee I have dealt with to be courteous and professional. We purchased our awning four years ago. The awning was crooked after one year and when we called them to fix it we were charged $200 for service call. Fast forward three years later and its coming apart at both the seams. When we called to fix they charged us $1200 to have it fixed. But there is nothing but problems when purchasing from this company. read more

The salesman promised us a 15 year warranty, but he never mentioned the $200. service charge per visit. We love our awning, but Roll-up uses a flawed design that includes an inferior part and it breaks every one-two years. We got the awning in 2012 and just had our 3rd service call for the same defective part. How nice for them to have this built-in obsolescence. If you have this awning already and need to call them, call early. That way you might avoid AnnMarie. She is rather unpleasant. read more

So awesome. Well worth the money. We had it installed in the beginning of the summer over our second story deck. It would get incredibly hot where you couldn't even think of sitting out there. The awning helps so much! We decided to go with rollup because they had the best price for the quality. We needed a huge awning so we knew we couldn't cheap out on the motor. Rollup Awnings rocks! Over 10+ years ago I installed one of their motorized awnings & to date he has survived Super Storm Sandy as well as a number of nasty NorEasters & bizzards. It still operates & looks as good as the day it was installed. Recently my wife suffered a major stroke & she has limited mobility. She turned to me & said why don't you get an awning like we have in the back of our home for the deck so I can go outside. I called Rollup Awnings & to my surprise the same salesperson, Gregg Braun, that sold us our original awning came to our home. Within 2 weeks a professional team came & installed the motorized awning (this time with a cool remote). The installation was done professionally & they cleaned up completely after. Rollup gave us a finance option with no interest if paid within the window of the agreement. More then all of the good things I've said about them the most important thing is that this awnings cools off the deck area & the table & chairs beneath it by 15-20 degrees. In fact the awning almost makes our deck like an outside room. The smile on my wife's face when she's out on the deck under the awning says it all. We bought the rollup awning 3 years ago the salesman was very nice and we were happy the first year.....NOW for the following 2years last year the arm of the came away from the awning called the company and they said it was our fault and that we had left the awning out in the wind.... NOT TRUE THE ARM CAME OUT WHILE THE AWNING WAS CLOSED! the charge was $800.00, this year the motor stoped working we called the company and they said the motor was covered for up to 5 years but we have to pay a service fee of $200.00 ....I wanted to know why I would have to pay for something that should be covered and the response was thats just the way it is! Ann is the woman that answers all costumer service calls, and a very nasty woman she is..Mr. Braun who is the owner of the company called my husband and was very nasty also..If I had gone to Yelp instead of their fake website reviews which by the way you can not write a review on their website...goes to show that they are a shady company... Love to support local business on Long Island, I regret using this company. The owner is arrogant and condescending with a high pressure sales pitch, like that of a used car sales man. Bracket attachments are an eye sore on the roof along with having to mount an electrical outlet on the roof itself, making it difficult to check GRI breaker to troubleshoot problems yourself. Shortly after use, adjustments needed to be made to the awning (the awning would not fully retract and eventually would not open). Upon contact their service dept, their personnel are not pleasant and are representative of the owner......arrogant and condoscending. The charge for the serviceman to come out and simply UNPLUG THE UNIT FROM OUTLET for motor to reset was almost $200. Would not recommend or use this company again. read more

Be careful when thinking about purchasing a Rolliup awning and do your research and price comparison. Although the Rollup Awning is a good product when you need a replacement part or servicing after the warranty is expired you will be disappointed. To replace a simple piece of plastic needed to open the awning they wanted $244.00 to come out and do it for me, and said they do not sell replacement parts. So they are giving you no option. Buy a cheaper awning that you can get parts for when the time comes. read more

I purchased a condo with the rollup awning already installed. I had all the original paper work, the people before me even replaced the fabric. The awning was crooked when I opened it and I noticed a bolt pulling out from the house, very dangerous. When I called on the phone they didn't seem to have time to talk to me so I decided to take a ride. As I have noticed from the previous reviews I am not the only one to feel the wrath from these people. They originally put the awning up so the bolt problem should be on them but nasty won and I agreed to pay too much for them to come and fix the problem. After they were done the awning didn't work anymore! If I wanted a working awning I would have to purchase a new motor. Unprofessional, very nasty, threatening court if I didn't pay them for the job they were contracted to do even though they did something to it so it wouldn't work again. I spread the word all the time how terrible these people are and fortunately I have saved a few but beware of Rollup Awnings, there are other companies out there and I will replace mine with one of theirs, after all I do have the replaced header already there. I wonder if its safe to use it? Did they replace it correctly? Will it pull out again? Nasty doesnt care. read more

My backyard was completely full of sun... I would never go back there, and my two year old was miserable! We decided to look for an awning. We went to a few places and ultimately decided to go with Rollup awnings. Our salesman Tony was super nice! My husband and I are very happy with our awning. They installed it within two weeks of ordering it. And now that we have it, we are always in the backyard. Love, Love my awning! Ordering process pretty smooth, waited awhile since we were having the awning hardware painted brown to match gutters, etc. Installation was very smooth. The electricians that they recommended we didn't use because they wanted to put wiring on the outside of our new brick house. Ended up using our electricians who could hide the wires much better. Only issue was they did not send our wind sensor until much later after the install and after a few reminder calls. Seems the gentleman that we ordered from was no longer working there, so there was bad communication between the office. So wind sensor still sitting on my shelf uninstalled. We also were under the impression that they were suppose to install it, they say no. Really not happy about that after the money we spent and the time we waited for the wind sensor to come. Did have to call for an issue and they came promptly and fixed very quickly read more
