Trying Fat Sal's for the time. I ordered the Bodacious Beef Dip (thinly sliced ribeye steak, melted provolone, truffled onions & mushrooms, horseradish aioli, with a side of gravy). All the flavors are delicious and worked well together. The gravy is a bit of a disappointment, and does not compliment the sandwich. It reminded me of Heinz beef gravy, from a jar. It might be different if they served it with Au jus. I also ordered the Italiano (Ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, sweet and hot peppers). This was not quite as big and tasty as I was expecting. I love a really good Italian (cold-cut) combo, and the nice guy behind the counter insisted that this was the celebrated cold sandwich on the menu. While it was good, it was not as loaded and hearty as I've had at many other locations. Next time back, I will get the Beef Dip again, but I will pass on the Italiano. Fat Sal's is also known for their shakes and loaded fries. I prefer sandwiches, so that will be my focus, moving forward. Overall, the service is very friendly and helpful, and the late night hours (1:30am) makes Fat Sal's an ideal spot.

03/09/2025 Soft Opening for friends and family. I got to meet Sal himself and he told me about a few of the signature sandwiches. Drinks are included in the famous signature sandwiches as I ordered the Banh Mi sandwich. Seasoned fries are definitely a tall order too. Comes with a few packets of ketchup. I like BBQ so I asked for BBQ sauce as someone asked me how is everything. It's a small place packed with a lot of people tonight. Lots of friends & family here to support Sal. I think I saw a few celebrities, not big names but I do recognize them.

I first discovered Fat Sal's years ago when I drove past their Encino location and later noticed they had opened at Topanga Social. I always intended to try them, but when I heard they were opening in Studio City, I knew it was finally time! Fat Sal's prides itself on delivering "an experience you'll want to be a part of"--as their website puts it. They're known for guilty pleasure sandwiches and sides, but they also offer salads and wraps (for those looking to balance things out). Co-founder Sal Capek describes their menu as "unique and exciting combinations and flavor profiles that result in mouthwatering, over-the-top culinary creations." Since I'm picky about sandwiches and burgers, I was happy to see that any hero (aka sandwich) can be made as a whole wheat wrap or on a bed of lettuce. I went for the Honey BBQ Chicken Hero as a wrap, which came loaded with grilled marinated chicken breast, grilled onions, and honey BBQ sauce--plus, I added avocado. But let's talk about the Fat Shakes. These spoon-in shakes are next level--I couldn't resist and tired two different shakes: #2 Shake: Coffee ice cream, shaved dark chocolate, and smashed pretzels. Like a specialty Frappe. #6 Vegan Shake: Vanilla cashew milk "ice cream," peanut butter, Oreos, "whipped cream," and chocolate syrup. I added Marshmallow Fluff to it also. Service was great and while it is a smaller location than most and can be a little difficult to find seating, they do have some outside or you can do takeaway. Parking Tip: Park in residential on the other side of the street or in one of the lots off of Ventura Blvd.

I had always wanted to try Fat Sal's, and finally had the chance to get a group of friends to dine in. Food portion was enormous for the price we paid. We had our sandwiches cut into pieces to we can share and try out other entrees. Everything we ordered was pretty tasty, and beyond my expectations. I love how there are fries in my sandwich. Fat Sal- Ribeye was thinly sliced, mozorella cheese was delicious and paired well with the garlic sauce. Fat Texas- I can taste the pastrami, I liked this better than the Fat Sal's actually, it tasted more bold than Fat Sal's. Bacon Cheeseburger Fries- Wow, if I ate this first , I wouldnt have ordered the sandwich. This was a full meal, and super delicious. Chili Cheese Fries- The chili cheese fries was phenomenal. West Coast Burger- This west coast burger was interesting, it's not an ordinary burger, this burger sets the bar above any other burgers. After dining at Fat Sal's, I need to just walk home to kill the calories but well worth every calorie.

If you're hungry and bold enough to handle the craziest, most over-the-top sandwiches in L.A., Fat Sal's is the place to be. The portions are massive, the flavors are wild, and every bite is worth the calories. Whether you're grabbing a Fat Texas, Fat Jerry, or one of their loaded fries, you're in for a serious food adventure. The staff is chill, the vibe is loud and fun, and it's open late -- perfect for post-work, post-party, or straight-up cheat day cravings. They don't just make sandwiches; they make experiences. You haven't truly lived until you've tried stuffing mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, and fries into a hero roll and calling it dinner. Trust me -- Fat Sal's delivers on its name and its hype.

Second time here, got the Fat Cug sandwich and it was exactly what I was craving without even knowing it! The combo of mozzarella sticks, truffle fries, and that delicious vodka sauce was perfection -- plus the crispy tater tots on the side hit the spot. My friend got their butter chicken cheesesteak collab and it was super creamy, flavorful, and cheesy. Cool, laid-back vibe, very clean, and excellent customer service. Can't wait to come back!

Ordered the Italian cold cuts sub for which I had a strong craving tonight. The ingredients were so paltry that all one really tasted was tomatoes and vinaigrette. Two pics below show how they show it and what I ended up with.

Langer's came highly recommended by just about every food influencer on Instagram. Since I don't…read morealways trust the hype, I figured I'd check it out for myself. The first thing that stood out was the location. It's definitely not the polished, picture-perfect side of LA that many visitors expect. Walking from the parking lot, you're met with a mix of body odor, urine, and sewer smells. If you can get past that short walk, you're in for a much better experience once you step inside. We were told to expect a long wait, but fortunately there was no line when we arrived and we were seated right away. The restaurant itself has a classic, vintage deli feel that's part of its charm. It was clean, busy, and surprisingly well organized. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and able to answer all of our questions about the menu. We ordered the famous #19 pastrami with coleslaw and the #44 grilled pastrami with sauerkraut. There were four of us dining, and the group was split right down the middle--two preferred the #19, while my friend and I thought the #44 was the winner. Either way, it's safe to say the sandwiches are excellent and there's likely an option that will appeal to everyone. The prices were also more reasonable than I expected. The pastrami was perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and sliced generously. Every bite lived up to the reputation. Overall, Langer's is a very solid deli and absolutely worth trying for the food alone. My only real drawback is the surrounding area. I didn't feel particularly comfortable outside the restaurant, although that may simply be because I'm not used to that part of LA. Once inside, however, the experience was enjoyable and the food definitely delivered on the hype.

I've always questioned "nippy cheese". What is it? What makes it "nippy"?…read more Langer's is known for their best-in-the-west sublime-tasting pastrami, but on a whim we got their grilled Nippy cheese. We got the grilled nippy cheese on sourdough -- the bread is our only deviation from what a standard grill cheese sandwich is supposed to be: kraft singles on white-as-hayull bread, grilled to a golden brown, in butter, on a scorching-hot, flat cooking surface. The grilled nippy cheese here is the platonic ideal of what a grilled cheese sandwich should be. 1) The sandwich had the perfect golden-hued grilled color. 2) The cheese inside was the perfect ooey-gooey consistency. 3) The ration of bread to cheese was perfect. What was most surprising was the fact that this "nippy cheese" is from Kraft. Apparently, Nippy Cheese is what American cheese was called in the 1900s. This sandwich was so good I had to ask about the cheese. I expected the cheese to be some special-ass processed cheese-food from some specialty niche vintage supplier in Wisconsin. Nope! When a cashier asked, the cook said it was Kraft (Kraft singles is the only cheese appropriate for a standard grilled cheese sandwich, FYI) What this means is this sandwich was prepared perfectly. Whoever made this sandwich knows their stuff. I highly recommend Langer's grilled nippy cheese if pastrami ain't your thing.

(Still strange to me) But this place makes some of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten..... I had the broadway sub and it is awesome..... it's a little messy but totally delicious. I also ordered the garlic knots ... wow !!!! Soooo good . My wife had the spaghetti with meatballs... excellent. I can't say anything about the location because I had my order delivered. Through Grubhub. I'm definitely going to order again. This place is definitely worth trying... Sandwich was massive, however, it was mostly lettuce. Didn't notice from the pictures that the sandwiches aren't very balanced between meats and veggies. It's my personal preference for some more balance or flavor in a sandwich, peppers/onions/seasonings. Honestly, Jersey Mike's seasons their veggies better. I will say the bread at this deli was a notch above Jersey Mike's which is definitely a plus as good bread can make or break a sandwich. Mozzarella sticks were great, although they were normal sticks nothing out of the ordinary but I've definitely had worse sticks (looking at you Prince St Pizza...) so I'd recommend them if fried cheese is your jam! Service counter young lady was nice, she was quick and helpful with her suggestions. Small store, kind of looks like a convenience store and then the deli counter is on the right of the entrance and cashier is in the back. Easy ordering process. Parking is in the back, limited spaces. No inside seating available from what I saw, just counter to order and that's it. Grab and go type of spot for sure. Place was OK - if I lived closer, I would think it's an ok spot to come more often but I would not go out of my way to come.
