I finally got a chance to try this fairly new opened Fat Sal's. This place used to be called Jamba Juice. I walked in around noon and really wanted to try their food. I got myself a Grilled Chicken Cesar Salad & an Impossible burger. Nothing to drink and no fries. They have a lot of options to choose from: Sandwiches, burgers, tater tots, fries, drinks: milkshakes,cold & hot, salads and wraps. Service by Mason was AWESOME! He took my order and the order came out fast & quick. My food was very delicious and fresh. Restaurant was clean, and it is not a big place. Interior was pretty dope, colorful, and upbeat. They were playing great music overhead and I would definitely return to try other options from their extensive menu. Sandwiches were HUGE!! Saw 2 people eating and wanted to take a bite:-) they said no. Underground validated parking for 90 minutes free. I have yet to go to Fat Sal's for their regular menu. I have only gone for their collaborations. I loved the Coming to America collab when they turned into Mc Dowels. The food was amazing! This time we went for the Rickmas collab. Honestly the smash burger with pickles, fried pickles and pickled flavored ketchup was perfect. The Fat Rickmas was packed with flavor and their Fat Cookie was mind blowing. My only issue is that their Philly Cheesesteak fries weren't tossed with cheese. Once you got past the top layer they were just fries. We will be back because I want tha Fat Bahn Mi! read more

Working nearby and stopped here for lunch. Everything was really good. I loved the interior. Colorful. Vibrant. I had the grilled chicken Cesar salad. The grilled chicken was spiced and grilled nicely. Very tasty. And a lot of food. My work partner had the Fat Bodega sandwich. He loved it and it looked really good. I forgot to take photos. DOH! BEWARE! Anthony H. that works at night and whoever the man is in the kitchen cooking are completely unprofessional, rude and seem drunk or high. Every time we asked a question about the menus his response seemed annoyed and he repeated its right there and pointed to the wall. He made fun of us in Spanish to the cook and got our order completely wrong. Charged us for 4 sandwiches when we only ordered 3 because there's only 3 of us .. then said he couldn't do a refund until a manager is working. No needed info like name of manager or when? Ugh ..We ordered extra meat and cheese on our Philly cheese sandwich and they kept the sandwich for themselves and then joked more in Spanish about throwing it away and thought it was funny. The Philly cheese sandwiches they gave us has very little meat on them and missing onions. Why so little meat? We also ordered season fries and he gave us regular fries that looked gross. We ordered a coffee shake and he gave us a chocolate shake lol.. ? He should also understand that talking bad about customers in Spanish is horrible and we understand everything and it's extremely hurtful. Is this juvenile behaving unprofessional really who you want representing your company and bullying customers? Why did you treat us so badly? Trying Fat Sal's for the time. I ordered the Bodacious Beef Dip (thinly sliced ribeye steak, melted provolone, truffled onions & mushrooms, horseradish aioli, with a side of gravy). All the flavors are delicious and worked well together. The gravy is a bit of a disappointment, and does not compliment the sandwich. It reminded me of Heinz beef gravy, from a jar. It might be different if they served it with Au jus. I also ordered the Italiano (Ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, sweet and hot peppers). This was not quite as big and tasty as I was expecting. I love a really good Italian (cold-cut) combo, and the nice guy behind the counter insisted that this was the celebrated cold sandwich on the menu. While it was good, it was not as loaded and hearty as I've had at many other locations. Next time back, I will get the Beef Dip again, but I will pass on the Italiano. Fat Sal's is also known for their shakes and loaded fries. I prefer sandwiches, so that will be my focus, moving forward. Overall, the service is very friendly and helpful, and the late night hours (1:30am) makes Fat Sal's an ideal spot. read more

We finally went to a Fat Sal's and we weren't disappointed. i loved the fact that they have several vegan and vegetarian options. I got the impossible smash burger with poutine and my son had the burger with fries, while my daughter had chicken strips and gator tots. The food was great and came out pretty quickly. The restaurant has seating inside but it is on the smaller side for sure. The staff was very nice and helped with any questions we had. Can't wait to go back! read more

03/09/2025 Soft Opening for friends and family. I got to meet Sal himself and he told me about a few of the signature sandwiches. Drinks are included in the famous signature sandwiches as I ordered the Banh Mi sandwich. Seasoned fries are definitely a tall order too. Comes with a few packets of ketchup. I like BBQ so I asked for BBQ sauce as someone asked me how is everything. It's a small place packed with a lot of people tonight. Lots of friends & family here to support Sal. I first discovered Fat Sal's years ago when I drove past their Encino location and later noticed they had opened at Topanga Social. I always intended to try them, but when I heard they were opening in Studio City, I knew it was finally time! Fat Sal's prides itself on delivering "an experience you'll want to be a part of"--as their website puts it. They're known for guilty pleasure sandwiches and sides, but they also offer salads and wraps (for those looking to balance things out). Co-founder Sal Capek describes their menu as "unique and exciting combinations and flavor profiles that result in mouthwatering, over-the-top culinary creations." Since I'm picky about sandwiches and burgers, I was happy to see that any hero (aka sandwich) can be made as a whole wheat wrap or on a bed of lettuce. I went for the Honey BBQ Chicken Hero as a wrap, which came loaded with grilled marinated chicken breast, grilled onions, and honey BBQ sauce--plus, I added avocado. But let's talk about the Fat Shakes. These spoon-in shakes are next level--I couldn't resist and tired two different shakes: #2 Shake: Coffee ice cream, shaved dark chocolate, and smashed pretzels. Like a specialty Frappe. #6 Vegan Shake: Vanilla cashew milk "ice cream," peanut butter, Oreos, "whipped cream," and chocolate syrup. I added Marshmallow Fluff to it also. I had always wanted to try Fat Sal's, and finally had the chance to get a group of friends to dine in. Food portion was enormous for the price we paid. We had our sandwiches cut into pieces to we can share and try out other entrees. Everything we ordered was pretty tasty, and beyond my expectations. I love how there are fries in my sandwich. Fat Sal- Ribeye was thinly sliced, mozorella cheese was delicious and paired well with the garlic sauce. Fat Texas- I can taste the pastrami, I liked this better than the Fat Sal's actually, it tasted more bold than Fat Sal's. Bacon Cheeseburger Fries- Wow, if I ate this first , I wouldnt have ordered the sandwich. This was a full meal, and super delicious. Chili Cheese Fries- The chili cheese fries was phenomenal. West Coast Burger- This west coast burger was interesting, it's not an ordinary burger, this burger sets the bar above any other burgers. If you like carbs on carbs this place is for you. I tried a Fat Jerry, the bites touching the meat had good taste and flavor. The other bites were bread, fries and other breading ingredients. First time ordering from Fat Sal's. I stumbled upon it while searching for food on my way home from the dog park. Ordering online was a breeze (though quite pricey, as usual). Finding parking was a bit of a challenge. I ended up parking at the Wells Fargo's parking lot and just walking over. But that's not their fault; it's just bad structure planning. Upon entering, I was the only customer in the entire restaurant. I approached the counter, and the employee asked what I needed. I informed him that I had a pickup order, and he confirmed it. He then let me know that my shake was almost ready. Curious about the menu, I decided to check it out. I was a bit disappointed that I hadn't ordered a more unique sandwich. They had a lot of really appealing options. I opted for the Philly cheese steak since it was the most popular choice online. It took a few minutes to receive my order. When I got it, the guy made sure to mention that there was straw inside the bag. Cool I thought, won't have to grab one on my way out then. I made it to my truck and was glad I had decided to try some of the fries. Unfortunately, there wasn't any straw in the bag, as the employee had mentioned. And there weren't even napkins! I was relieved that I had noticed before I got back on the freeway, because that would have been a very unpleasant ride home since my shake would have melted and the food would have become cold by then. I had to go back in and retrieve both items. I can understand that mistakes can happen when a restaurant is busy, and things can get overlooked. Everyone is human. But to be the only customer in the entire store and still have this happen? It's a bit unacceptable, in my opinion. I hope that the food is at least decent to salvage this sour taste I already have. I was really excited about this place, some of their sandwiches sounded amazing. I was sadly disappointed. The first time I got a $20 sub style sandwich, it was half the size it looked in the picture. And when they cram all that stuff on their, there is no specific flavor to any of it. Like you cant taste any of the individual items, its just this hodgepodge of odd taste. So I tried a burger the next time. All of their burgers are doubles, so I went with the basic double. After patiently waiting for Fat Sal's to open their new location near our house, I finally got my chance to try the food and BOY was I disappointed. My mom got an Italian sub and really unexceptional. I recently had a great one at Ghost Sando downtown and it was far far better. Wimpy ingredients and so-so bread. However, it was far better than my veggie wrap. If you're going to charge $16 for a sandwich, I really expect the ingredients to be fresh. The chopped lettuce was ALL RUSTY. That's a NO-NO! And the veggie "burger" was flavorless. Barely any dressing, and probably the wrong kind of dressing in the first place. Fries not fresh either. Fortunately, we have Ggiata's in the neighborhood now and even Uncle Paulies. Seems like Sal put more thought into decor than their recipes. read more
