I don't usually leave negative reviews, but after months of trying to resolve this situation privately, I feel compelled to share my experience. On April 29, I visited this location and witnessed a physical altercation involving the owner and a pedestrian outside the business. The incident was distracting enough that I accidentally left my wallet behind in the restaurant. A few days later, when I realized it was missing, I contacted the restaurant multiple times. Several employees confirmed that my wallet had been found and that they had seen it in the restaurant. Some employees also told me they believed it had been given to the owner. When I finally spoke with the owner, I was told that the wallet had most likely been thrown away during ongoing construction and renovation work. I was also told that the security cameras were not working, so there was no way to verify what happened to it. My wallet contained $200, gift cards, and was itself valuable, so this explanation was difficult for me to understand. What has been most frustrating is not just that the wallet disappeared, but that after months of emails, texts, and follow-up attempts, I have received no meaningful resolution, compensation, or consistent communication. I understand that people make mistakes and that businesses cannot always prevent every problem. However, when employees acknowledge that a customer's lost property was found and then it later goes missing, I believe the situation deserves serious attention and follow-through. People are so nice here. The server I had was attentive to my order to make sure they got it right the first time and "yes" they did. I like Firehouse Subs when they have specials and my favorites are Engineer and Meatball. I will say that some of their sandwiches (i.e. honey ham) is pretty sweet. I like mine savory most of the time. Sweet on sweet is not my style. The place is clean and great to sit and eat at. It's a pretty nice neighborhood to stop by. Melt in your mouth goodness and I love how soft the bread is. The meat and sauces are perfection! First time visiting this location today and the staff is incredibly friendly and super helpful! I'm sad to say it, but shrinkflation has definitely hit Firehouse Subs. It had been a few years since I went to this store for various reasons including the pandemic and my work schedule, but recently I visited it twice. I was very disappointed to see how much smaller the subs are now, even with the higher prices. Raise your price OR make the sandwiches smaller, but doing both is completely unacceptable. Now on the positive side, the subs are still good, the staff is fantastic, and the atmosphere holds up. Unfortunately, though you just can't make your subs smaller and raise your prices and expect a better rating than 3. read more

I don't know why it's taken me so long to try Firehouse Subs. Maybe I was tired of Jersey Mike's and Subway and just thought it would be more that. So, years went by. And I thought that before my teeth fall out or before hair starts growing out of my ears, maybe, just maybe, I should give this place a whirl. Decision made, it only took six months to actually do it. I did it via DoorDash one fine late afternoon. They were having some deal on DoorDash so that was nice. I ordered the Italian and had it their way except no mayo. Mayo does not belong on anything with the name Italian. It arrived very quickly and I quickly took it out of the bag and unwrapped it and began eating. Well, I was quite surprised at just how tasty it was - everything was fresh and all the "their way" stuff sans mayo worked fine. The melted cheese made it even more interesting, as melted cheese usually does. Sometimes I put melted cheese on my forehead and let me tell you how interesting my forehead becomes. But I digress. All sandwiches could be toasted or cold, and I went with a small spicy cajun chicken on wheat bread. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced, but not spicy for me. I love Firehouse so much! It's nostalgic for me because I first starting going in high school when I lived in Florida. I also used to order the Italian, Grilled Chicken, or Meatball subs. Now my diet is a little more restricted so this was a rare treat for me. Their soda machine was out of carbonation when I went recently to this location, but luckily I don't drink soda so I just made myself an Arnold Palmer. There's a handful of tables there but I've never seen them all full before. It's more of a takeout place in my opinion. I ordered the new Cajun Chicken sandwich combo meal. I always get a medium, which is just the right amount of food if I'm hungry. The guy working the counter was so nice and made my experience really pleasant. The Cajun Chicken did not disappoint! The bread was nicely toasted, the Cajun flavors were smoky, the cheese was melty, and it had jalapeños on it. Mildly spicy but really good. I actually added Cholula because I like it pretty spicy and because that's the way you eat a Firehouse Sub -- with hot sauce. Pickle was as good as ever. Although the staff on my particular visit were verbally very polite and even kind, it seemed that some details were just overlooked. Like putting the sandwich wrapped (and in a very nice container unlike other sub shops I should mention) BUT IT WAS IN THERE UPSIDE-DOWN! I mean, why have the wrapping plus the container if you're going to place it in the container upside down and then serve the container "right side up"? stuff just falls out when you do that if it's made right side up and then wrapped. Simple. Why? No training? or "I just don't care"? Also there is no meat in these sandwiches from my experiences. I ordered the "Cajun chicken sandwich" and I guess by weight it gets made. When you eat it? ther'es no chicken in there at all compared to the lettuce/tomato etc.. The bread is awesome and the sandwich tasted good once I re-assembled it. Poor execution at this location in my opinion. When you pay $13+ for a sandwich it should be tight. The flavor was strong with a good kick but not overbearing, I had it with the garlic bread (which will always be a win), and I added tomatoes, olives, and pickles. (Plus it came with a pickle spear on the side as well). But more than anything this review is for the worker who helped me, Angel. And her name was sure accurate! It's still expensive, but the prices are now competitive with the competition, and the product is superior in quality and taste. Also recommended are the Club on a Sub, the Hook and Ladder, and the King's Hawaiian Pork and Slaw Sandwich. In any hot sandwich, you can get the meat and cheese cold if you wish. My son had never eaten Firehouse and didn't see anything on the menu that appealed to him (he's vegetarian) and asked to leave and go to a competitors sub spot (it rhymes with Mersey Jikes lol). I had the asignment of feeding 100 people at a funeral service for a close friend at Forest Lawn in Hollywood and after checking Subway and other sandwich shops, I spoke to ED at Firehouse subs in North Hollywood. Ed was very professional, informative and seemed to have the best selections and cost for our needs. The next day, I went to the location to try each of the sandwich types we planned to order- Roast Beef, Pastrami and the Chicken. All were really good and I wondered if the ones actually made for the event would be as good- THEY WERE! We ordered five of the catering "boxes" which had a variety of meats and all condiments on the side. Firehouse even delivered the sandwiches right at the time we requested. Tasty hot sandwich. We got a free medium Italian as part of T-mobile Tuesday deal. When we walked in the staff greeted and the cashier walked through our add-in options and our expected time. I heard her give the same level of care for the gentleman before us and the teens after us. They were attentive on quickly cleaning the tables once guests leave. They called us when the meal was freshly made; the bag was a bit greasy perhaps they should swap out the food gloves when doing final packaging fulfillment. Decided to take advantage of a Door Dash credit and special to try Firehouse Subs. I am a big fan of Jersey Mike's so was curious to see how it would match up. My son and I decided to go with the Firehouse meatball and Firehouse steak and cheese. Both turned out to be hearty, tasty and fulfilling sandwiches. Loved the soft bread and fresh ingredients. The meatball was very hearty and good balance of marinara and cheese. The steak and cheese was also delicious but the cheese and steak could have been better balanced.
