Roma Imports is one of the best places in Tucson for pasta. I couldn't believe that vegan pasta could taste so good. They also have a mini grocery store so you can cook their food at home. The only bad thing is their hours are a little short. We had them cater for Hack Arizona. read more

Yummy! I love Roma and they're right next to my work (can you say spoiled?). The BLT is my favorite sandwich and I love their pasta specials. I keep telling myself that I'm going to go in and get some of their pasta to-go, but never have. This place looks super nondescript and kind of more like a warehouse than a restaurant. There's a little market inside with olive oils, cheeses, and deli items. The bread pudding is DELICIOUS and the employees are very friendly. Place is a gem. Tucson's Italian food scene isn't ideal as is (and don't start New York circle-jerk travel bragging on me either like I see some of you doing, because I know how great the Italian food is there from my own experiences and it has NOTHING to do with Tucson, schmucks!), and these guys pretty much own it. Their grocery supply is very good, the frozen prepared choices are international from Italian to Indian to European..the deli and freshly prepared items are fantastic, love the cheese stuffed peppers, grilled artichokes, fresh bread, pretty much most items in the fresh deli area, the frozen lasagna doesn't cook up as nice as the fresh, but fresh mozarella and cheeses you will not find anywhere in town...don't forget to try a sandwich or special of the day, you will be very happy with here!!! read more

Just went to my first Feast. AMAZING! Not only was the food wonderful but the entire staff was warm and welcoming. As violinists serenaded us we enjoyed 21derful dishes. I loved their lamb marinated in wine and anchovy sauce and I don't like either lamb or anchovies. Completely satisfied I bellied up to the dessert table. I was encouraged to take an entire almond semifreddo by Norma. She was right! Cool and creamy. The location is off the beaten path, but the drive is worth it. It's a hole-in-the wall with just OKAY ambiance and service, but the owners are friendly and the food is delicious. While I enjoy their salads and sandwiches for lunch, the true value is the fact that you can get authentic pre-made and seasoned food to-go! I love driving by and grabbing a pre-made pesto sauce, quiche or dessert. Their cannolis are SO good, even the next day. They are made fresh. They have pre-sliced meats and cheeses that make the perfect fresh and tasty party hors d'oeuvres and you can count on the food being FRESH. Overall, it's a treasure for everyone. Vegetarian or total carnivore, there is something for you and you will never be ashamed to serve it to guests. I haven't tried their catering, but hope to in the next few months. If the parking and dine-in situation were better, it'd be a 5, but the food is definitely a 5. read more

I love Italian food - I mean REAL Italian food. From Italy. That's what you get from Roma Imports. I went the other day to check it out and maybe pick up some pasta. I left inspired to make my husband a traditional Italian feast. We snacked on some fresh bread dipped in olive oil (the good stuff) while the flavors of my tomato sauce and veal and beef meatballs married together. I served the meatballs and sauce over incredibly long spaghetti that was entirely too much fun trying to get on my fork. We had Roma's cannolis for dessert. I'm really happy I limited myself to buying just two and not an entire pastry bag full of the filling. Sooo good. Roma Imports is also open for lunch and dinner. They have a small dining area in the back. I'm excited to go back to try one of their many sandwich, salad, or pasta options. read more

Lately I've been noticing a few more deli/grocery also serving well-made prepared foods. Roma is a prime example with the exception that they have been in Tucson doing this for at least 14 years. Tucked away in an industrial neighborhood across from Arizona Liquidation Station, this shop owner "bought Roma Imports... [and] has since changed it from a wholesale business to a Italian-style deli and market." I appreciate this simple, local, bustling, mom and pop style shop where I am happy to be a repeat customer. Hearty, not usually healthy but causes you to sigh after you've taken you first bite (especially when you're starving and looking for comfort food). I have tried desserts, sandwiches, salads and pastas. Most of the food tastes good. There is enough variety in food to accommodate most - vegetarian included. The sauces are not too sweets and have enough acidity to provide a good balance. Not surprisingly, I like their pastas the most, On top of prepared food are the reasonable prices and the deli. We've gotten really good gnocchi, ravioli, lasagna and sauces to take home after having lunch. There is even Thai and Indian curries?? Some of the pastas we've bought there are good enough on their own with just a little olive oil. Follow that up with a few fig desserts and cheese stuffed peppers and I'm ready to call it a day. read more

We just LOVE LOVE Roma Imports... I have never eaten in the restaurant portion, but love the market part... I stock up on meatballs and fresh mozzarella often. Also, their catering is the bomb! We have had Roma cater quite a few Christmas parties over the years and it's always the same reaction from friends and family, delicious! I have tried some take home meals and they are fantastic as well. The Cannoli's are to die for as well as the rainbow and pignoli cookies! Family favorites! Well lets face it this little Diamond in the rough in Tucson is the BEST there is for real Italian Deli and home cooked foods. The #1 Deli Sandwich to me is the "Italian Dip" with a huge side of Marinara sauce and you add spicy stuff like hot chili in oil or whatever! The stallion and tuna antipasti were fresh and well seasoned. Plus the portions were quite generous! Staff is warm, welcoming and could tell it was our first time there. This is a very cool out of the way spot for fabulous Italian food. Well worth the effort. It has both a fresh Menu and small dining area, and many frozen dinners. I must be missing something. I have now been to Roma 3 times. I have gotten a variety of items from hot items to frozen ones. Soups to pastas to sauces. Overall I have been underwhelmed at best. I find most of the frozen items to be severely overpriced for the quality. The only thing I have gotten here that I truly enjoyed was the special (hot) lasagna. In the future if I go back I will stick to hot food. read more

We love Roma for their basic, but wonderful Italian lunches. Now after lunch, go shopping for cheeses, salamis, sauces that they make that are to die for, olive oils, vinegars, and lots, lots more. I had repeatedly heard only fantastic things about this place so I finally ended up there today for lunch. They have deli food ready to go, you can also order a sandwich from the lunch menu and eat in or take it to go. They offer a great selection of homemade pastas, sauces, entrees, and desserts that are all frozen and ready to heat and serve. Italy is my all-time favorite country, so I'm a little biased when stating that is my favorite lunch spot in Tucson. Only a hop, skip, and jump away from the U of A, however, not too many students venture over here. There are not too many other places that I can think of that allow you to escape the overcrowded University Ave. while providing some fantastic food!
