    Bismark

I came here for lunch last week and was pleasantly surprised by how many sandwich meat options they offer beyond just sausage. I ordered the Bismark without sauerkraut and with horseradish on the side--it was delicious. I also tried a bite of my friend's Susie Sorority with added mustard and really liked it. The potato salad was just okay, nothing special.

Stopped here for lunch recently though I used to frequent this deli more often years ago. Hasn't changed and that's a good thing! My go-to always was the Susie Sorority but this time I opted for the Sausage Deli Club. It was made to order and I chose a 7" sub roll which was perfectly moist. You can add a drink and chips or a side. I got a small side of the potato salad and macaroni salad which were very fresh and just the right amount in my opinion since the sandwich is a generous size. My lunch mate ordered the Bismarck which came out with nicely melted cheese and a good portion of roast beef. The restaurant has several TVs with sports on and many booths and tables to sit at. There are also tables outside when the weather agrees. Service was fast and friendly! Highly recommend if you're looking for a great fresh deli sandwich!

Supposed to be corned beef on rye

I have to start off by saying one thing I don't like is chef Mike in the kitchen yes that means the (microwave) there were 2 of them !! So I got the corn beef on rye supposed to be hot it was and it was so hot that I almost burned my hands so I knew there was a problem!! did they put my sandwich in the microwave?yes they did !! if I knew they were gonna put my sandwich in the microwave i would've never ordered a hot sandwich because one thing I don't like is Chef Mike if I wanted a microwave sandwich, I would've stayed home and made one myself!! so it was so hot it ruined my rye bread, never melted the cheese or made the corned beef hot My sister and I came here because she saw the sausage deli on the news and she wanted to go try this new place out or come to find out the place is not new. Tried the macaroni and potato salad and they were both bland no seasonings no anything they tasted like nothing. I was so disappointed the first bite. I took my eyes rolled up and my mouth frowned We support small business, but I'm sorry Sausage Deli I won't be back . See pictures below !! the corn beef does not look like real corn beef. It looks processed. The only item I liked on the sandwich was my cold pickle oh and I didn't know you had microwaves in your kitchen until after I got my food !!

I have been coming here since the old location beginning in 88. I love the artichoke salad and the hot pastrami. The tuna is great as well. Very simple to order and wait for ones food. The service is fantastic and the inside is straightforward and has booths to sit down creating a great easy food environment. Is it the best deli in town? Idk it's definitely in my top 4.

    Omar sub so good!

Beh. Subs are way too skinny, not thick like you'd expect. Not what I was lead to believe from other reviews.

I stopped in and asked the lady behind the counter if they had Krakow. She said yes and pointed to a sausage in the case. I said no, that was not it as it was much smaller around than what I grew up eating, which (in the midwest) is around 6" across. The lady said they've been making Krakow for 40 years, and "that's the way people like it here", and that's that. I asked her if i could show her a picture of what I was talking about. She said it wouldn't do any good (to show a picture). She pretty much ignored me and went on to other tasks. I asked for a taste and she sliced off a piece. It's about 80% taste-wise of what I grew up eating, not nearly garlicky enough but close enough to buy a pound. As she was slicing it, she said "he" makes it once a year right after Thanksgiving and when it's gone, it's gone. So I asked for 2# and said I was going to freeze some. She said it would dry out when frozen so I only got 1#. Perhaps she was really busy, but she didn't seem to have time for me. She was pleasant enough with my requests but not very friendly. Not sure I'll go back.

The food was fantastic. It's definitely a place you need to look for. The storefront is modest and tucked into a mixed-use part of town, surrounded by a few industrial buildings, so it's easy to miss. They accommodated my short-notice catering order without any issues. The food was hot, ready within minutes of my arrival, and the counter staff double-checked everything with me and even helped load the order into my trunk. Everything was packaged really well, so nothing spilled during the drive. My team loved the dinner, and I'll be returning soon to try the food in person.

The feast of the seven fishes is our yearly tradition during the holidays, and when it rolls around, Angie (I'm not making that up, that is her real name--I told you she was Italian) will grab stuff from Roma by the armful. I am of the opinion that the prepared foods from here can range from the, "Mama Mia!" (really really tasty) to the, "Eh, Cosi cosi" (you know, it passes) range. I'm a people-person and love to observe the patrons. Many of the customers appear to be of Italian descent and, like my bettah half seem to really-enjoy the traditional and authentic staples of, Il Bel Paese (The beautiful country). Food from many different regions of Italy are available. The decor is kinda fun. In my mind, when I think of what an Italian trattoria should look like, this place comes to mind... it's got the classic red and white checkered table clothes, maps and landscapes of Italy adorning the walls, and an energy of a place that is well cared for. A religious icon or two will also dot the interior landscape. The aroma of slowly simmering tomato gravy, cut garlic, roasted meats, chopped onions, and olive oil fills the air. It's an experience. Sometimes life imitates art, and hand to gawd, on my mutha's life... the last times I went, der was deeze tree guys sitt'n in dah corner. I swears, dey cou'da been cast members from the Sopranos. Ayhhyyee! Was'amatta, youse? The staff is generally warm and enthusiastic about their offerings. They generally have been super helpful, and if it's not too busy, are more than happy to make suggestions for new items or how best to prepare the items we have purchased. When we have visited, 90% of the time, the place was crack'n (meaning: super busy and full of life!). Sometimes, as we drive away and I take a peek at the receipt, I will exclaim, "Davvero! È così caro!" Loosely translated that means, "Really! That's so expensive!" My wife, who only knows a few words of Italian, has no idea that I was pooping my pantaloni over the cost... but, bless her heart, she seems to think the food here is worth every penny. Generally, I agree. So next time you go, remember to leave the gun, but take the cannoli. Mangiare!

The menu for the most part appeared to be pretty much unchanged. I ordered the loaded Mexican Potato, the hot corn beef & pastrami yankee sandwich and a half corn beef sandwich for our son. The price for one and a half sandwiches and a baked potato with three small drinks was $57. Seems a little steep even in today's economy. I scanned the salad bar as we went to get our drinks and it was displaced and a little messy. Dressing we spilled onto topping and the salad looked a little old. We sat down and or food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Which was not a good thing. When the food came I asked the server if he could bring a side of mustard which I ordered with our food but didn't get. As we waited for the mustard my wife cut into the potato and found that it was barely warm. The cheese not even partially melted. We didn't want to ask for it to be reheated because the other toppings would have been heated like the lettuce and tomatoes and we were on a time constraint. After sitting and looking for the server I decided to go up to the counter and asked for it myself. After returning I took my first bit and realized my sandwich was ice cold. Cheese was unmelted on both my sandwich and my sons. My wife said the potato was okay and would have been better if they had cooked it the way they use to. Remember it coming out steaming hot. We finished our meal and departed being extremely disappointed. And no, the server never returned with my mustard. I would say that based on our visit Jason's deli is no longer the place we knew a few years ago. For being not busy. There's no excuse for a cold "hot sandwich" and a lukewarm loaded baked potato. There are far better options for far better value.
