    Mushroom and French Brie Croque
    Jeff David G.

Cute brunch spot with a unique French menu and neat vibes but a mediocre meal. Clearly a popular spot on a weekend, there was a short wait before we were seated. The staff was very friendly although the food took a long time to arrive. We all ordered variation of the Croque Madame and shared some crepes. Both were underwhelming. The Croque Madame lacked flavor and the crepes were nothing exciting. I will credit their large vegan/vegetarian menu that offers modified versions of French classics to more people!

I need to stop in at Ghinis more often! Delicious food, nice patio (also nice indoor seating), relaxed ambiance, and friendly service earned if a 5 star rating from me! The egg/tomato baguette was delish. I added hash browns, which were crisp and yummy. Although the food was great, the spicy hot chai tea made it a complete experience! (Waaaaay better than something in a paper cup from a drive-thru coffee chain!) Yum! Yum! Yum!

We went here for brunch and it did not disappoint. The ambience was very chill, there were seating inside and outside. They allow dogs here which is a nice gesture. The service was quick and the food was great. We definitely return to try other items.

Croque Madame with French Onion Soup

Love, love, LOVE this cute & underrated little gem of a cafe in Tucson! Ghini's has a great menu for brunch or lunch with options for both more traditional American breakfast food and some delicious French staples. There's plenty of tables for seating indoors - I do wish there was an outdoor patio space, which would be lovely to relax and dine on..but I understand they have to work with what they've got in their strip mall location. The most recent time I came here, I got myself the Croque Madame for brunch and subbed the options for the side with a French Onion Soup for an extra $8. The French Onion Soup was a great size and tasted very rich and delicious - just the way you'd want it to be! I also enjoyed the Croque Madame - especially with a bit of hot sauce (available on each table) splashed onto it for some extra heat! For drinks, I highly recommend the French Mimosa! It's made with Lemon, Chambord, & Champagne. It has a great sweetness that is notable yet not overpowering, and also a bit stronger than your typical Mimosa with the alcohol!! One more thing - this spot is great for vegetarians & vegans. There are plenty of options on the menu, and they are also very accommodating when it comes to preparing vegan alternatives for just about everything on the menu. Most of my family is vegan, so it's one of the reasons the particularly love this cafe so much (in addition to the delicious French food)! Everyone that works here is very friendly and I always love coming here for delicious, high-quality food. Looking for a brunch or lunch spot in Tucson? For both people with regular diets and people with a plant-based/vegan diet, I highly recommend coming to Ghini's French Caffe!

Nice patio area, The burger is just another (arrived preformed frozen) Sysco burger however the onions & the cheese stepped it up. I asked for a side hash brown & some mayo. They forgot my side but did bring mayo. The mayo was room temperature at best, very watery & honestly horrible. I don't know what Mayo you order but it's the worst! Would I order the burger again, no. I would go back tho & try other interesting items on the menu. My server was not the person who brought my food. She did inquire about my meal from across the room tho. Discretion no, more like embarrassment. Some things need to be said table side only. I probably should have yelled back the mayo is horrible but I have some tact. Maybe an off day? Price was right for expectations, not for Sysco frozen. I'm usually easy to please but I'm a huge cold mayo fan & this was bad.

    So pretty, so delicious.

What can I say? French onion soup could be one of my main food groups. I think only 1 other place in town even has it but GHINIS is my go to! Soooo good. So gooey. Somehow their water even tastes incredible. Idk what it is?! They offer up delicious brunch and lunch options, a bakery and some small gift shop items. If you're lucky Kia will be your waitress. She is wonderful. Tip: call ahead when you're 15 away and they'll add you to the waitlist and there's usually a waitlist. They also have patio dining and welcome dogs!!

French onion Soupe a L'oignon- Delicious!

Ya know what? I initially didn't review Ghini's the first time I went for breakfast, bc I just couldn't really remember details. However over the next few mo I would stop in pretty regularly to the bakery side and buy a baguette or un Pain du chocolate. Love all their Croissants btw. So after having spent 7 weeks in Paris last Spring I decided to go for some French onion soup for lunch. It was so good. My server was on point. I thought it was legit. I love the way it resembles a lil French cafe. Inside the cozy tables and decor is charming,. I will continue to come back, there were a lot of things I wanted to try,

    Huge vegan menu!!

I'm so impressed with Ghini's extensive vegan menu! I want to try everything on it. Too bad I live in Phoenix.:( I thought I'd try their signature dish, the Eggs Provençal made vegan with Just Eggs. Super tasty! I love the way the eggs were seasoned. I also had the Hipsterville Hazy IPA beer by Barrio Brewing and it was excellent. Fast, friendly service and super cute, quaint French ambiance!

    Apple turnover was delicious!

Stopped in for a recommendation on which bread would be best for French toast. Bought the recommended brioche, made the French toast- it was perfect, thank you. BTW, the artisan baguette and apple turnover I bought too were delicious!

This was our first time eating here when they were celebrating Bastille Day. After visiting France, I really enjoy French food and wish there were more French establishments. The female manager is a force of nature. I would hire her in a second. The young lady filling water was also efficient. The rest of the staff seemed disorganized. We ordered the chicken Florentine croque, the grilled avocado toast, and the red, white, and blue crepes. I thought everything tasted fresh and flavorful. While the grilled avocado toast has a memorable presentation, I think the name is a bit of a misnomer as the avocado did not appear to be grilled, and the bread, although certainly enjoyable, was not toasted. I look forward to coming back and giving their bakery a try as their cakes are aesthetically pleasing. I recommend eating here, especially if you have extra time to enjoy a meal.

Arrived for Sunday Brunch and no surprise it was extra busy, but we got a table for 3 on the patio within 10 minutes. Wait staff are friendly, attentive, and offer great suggestions. Tables are somewhat small, but we ordered in waves so it never was an issue and servers accomodated us. We went for it and started with a Classic Bloody Mary, Caramel Apple Mimosa, and a "Staff Favorite" Orange Cream Recovery Elixer. All are delicious, however we expected the Elixir to have more sweetness. Not a deal breaker, though. All our food was excellent. Not a bad bite. So many choices on the menu, we are already planning our next visit to try more of what we passed up.

Spinach crepes with hash brown potatoes
    Betty S.

Had a lovely breakfast of spinach crepes with hash brown potatoes. The wait staff were friendly and attentive without hovering. And the restaurant itself is inviting and bright. There is also a charming large patio that is a delightful place to eat when it's not too hot.

This is such a lovely cafe. My husband and I had breakfast here recently. The staff was welcoming and attentive and the food is good! It was served hot and homemade. What else can you ask for? We will return. I recommend Ghinis French Caffe to anyone looking for an out of the ordinary, hearty breakfast or brunch. They also offer gluten free.

This review is only about the pastries because the rest of their menu deserves an entirely separate review. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly light and airy everything was. Every bite felt fresh, fluffy, and perfectly balanced. The frosting wasn't overly sweet, and nothing tasted heavy or overwhelming. As I've gotten older, I've become much more conscious about what I eat. Surprisingly, these pastries never leave me with that "I shouldn't have done that" feeling. They're indulgent without being excessive. Now let's address the real issue... I always buy two. Not because I'm planning ahead. Because I know exactly what's going to happen if I don't. I'll eat one in the parking lot, sit there for a minute pretending I'm satisfied, then make what is almost certainly an illegal U-turn and head back inside for another. At this point, I believe the owners should stand trial in a savory Food Court of Law. Dun... Dun... "In the Criminal Food Justice System, pastry-based crimes are considered especially delicious. We went inside and politely asked if there is any chance we could get it iced instead since there was no option on the iPad. The owner herself took the drink and remade it, which we appreciated, but her attitude toward us after was unnecessary. She told us that next time we should order directly with them because we just "wasted their cups" and so on. We apologized again and explained that we would have selected iced if the iPad had actually given us that option, but she didn't really acknowledge what we were saying. What made the experience more disappointing is that I work in coffee myself, so I understand what it's like when things get busy. I chose Barista Del Barrio out of all the coffee shops in the area specifically because I'm Latino and wanted to support a Latino-owned business. I forgot to mention, they have very good drinks. They really are intentional about the blend of flavors, they have a little something for everyone. All in all, I cannot recommend this place enough. It's been a shining star amongst Tucson restaurants and I am grateful they exist. Even to how they organize their menu partly by flavor profiles shows they genuinely LOVE food. I love food too, and I love here. Try this place. Today.

Host was most gracious, I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to be seated indoors or out on the patio area. He walked me through to show me the table closest to the misting fans. In the end I chose to sit indoors cause it was hella hot. Here is what we ordered: - Golden Latte with Agave (10/10) - Braveheart - Quiche du Jour (this one changes daily) - Moroccan Skillet - Shakshuka Everything was absolutely delicious. I bookmarked this place specifically for their killer lineup of desserts. I wish I could order all of them. The Coconut Custard Pie was calling my name and I gave it a good long lingering stare in the rotating glass case but I decided on the Prickly Pear Panna Cotta. I am all about the prickly pear whenever I visit Tucson. The cooked cream had the perfect wobbly jiggle, it was light, yummy and refreshing. Highly recommend this spot in Downtown Tucson. I don't drink but they have an amazing looking bar. Metered parking on the streets.
