Been here several times and lived the food. Last time I decided to order online and got the pasta combo. When I picked up my order I thought there had been some mistake as despite being more expensive, my meal was about half as big as the other meals in my order. When I went back I was informed that again, despite being more expensive the pasta combo was smaller than other entrées, and that they would not do a refund as the order was correct. We stopped in Ruston on a recent trip and the hotel recommended Roma. What a hit! We confess that we tend to be 'Italian food snobs", but this little gem exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is delightful, old brick, industrial accents, it feels like it's been there for 100 years. We had their version of caprese salad which had a nice twist of capers added and we each had different chicken dishes. They were both tasty and provided different twists on old favorites. My family is a big fan of calamari. Its hard to find restaurants gives you good one in America (quality/quantity)We like Roma's - tasty and the quantities!! Our favorite appetizer! The prices are reasonable, all the staffs are kind everytime i go, and they serve you bread before ordering, it used to be warm and fresh but now they have two different kind breads which are plain and garlic&cheese they are dry and cold i felt like it ruined my appetite though. Great atmosphere. Good wait staff. Meals were great. Salmon was awesome, grilled veggies were seasoned well. Manicotti was great. Veal aristrocrat was ok, but eggplant was tasteless. I'm going 5 stars for several reasons...Italian food is my "go to" comfort food when I'm on the road and RIB went beyond my expectations for a delicious meal. The menu offers a broad range of choices, but we settled on a chicken with vegetables in a pink sauce and the mixed seafood on a bed of pasta with marinara sauce (mine) which was exceptional! The shared dessert was the chocolate mouse cake = very good. It's been over a year now since my wife first told me about this place. She was hooked at hello, but I was reluctant and didn't want to go eat there, an Italian restaurant in the middle of Ruston? Anytime we wanted to go out to eat ROMA hovered over every conversation and was always my wife's first suggestion,..... we never went until recently. Dun dun dun dunnnnn!! Soo here's what I thought, Cosey environment with exposed brick, the inside was simple chic. The bar was fully stocked with a solid variety of beers,(always important), and an even more impressive selection of alcohol. I don't eat meat but will eat fish, and there was only one fish dish, Salmom with some grilled veggies! . Nobody wants that shit!!! So I decided to mix it up and substitute chicken in one dish for salmon from another, and to my surprise the waitress was fine with that. My wife got some food too, but this is my review, my yelp and am gonna talk about my impromptu Frankenstein of a dish! But all jokes aside the food was good, not great!! But good, the pasta was kinda oily and the cheese was too cheesy it was almost overbearing, listen I love me some cheese but that was tooo much. I am giving Roma 3 stars cause I feel like it, ohhh yea and because there was too much cheese and the food didn't taste or feel authentic enough for me. Sad. Is the word to sum up our experience here. The decor? Sad. The service? Sad. The food? Sad. The dead roach in the women's restroom? Gross. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken sub without cheese. The bread toasted almost to the point of breaking a tooth. The chicken was dry. The buffalo sauce was on par with a fast food restaurant. I ordered the spaghetti with mushrooms. I got spaghetti with meat sauce. I didn't want to waste my time waiting for a new dish, so I just ate it. Roma is one of our best restaurant's in the area. I never went to 102 A Bistro, which is what this used to be, but in any case, I am certainly glad Roma's stopped by in Ruston and I hope they stay for the long haul. I've tried their lobster raviolis, super creamy in a pink sauce (it's either red mixed with alfredo or cream) and not that expensive - about the same as other pasta dishes. It comes with imitation crab pieces so beware in case you don't like them. I've also had their specialty cheese tortellini which also comes in this great pink sauce and multi-colored noodles. I've had their calzones which are huge enough for 2 meals or 2 people. I've had their stuffed mushrooms so good (again in the pink sauce), and there is enough sauce left over for the bread they give you to dip in. The pizza is really good too, probably the best in Ruston. They have many choices and you can ask to make your own with whatever toppings you'd like. I like the White Pizza and I like the traditional but...yeah... with pink sauce. When our best friend visited us this summer, he insisted we kept going back - 3x - here and deemed this his favorite food spot in town. read more

Found this place by accident, but I'm so glad I did!!!! I've only had the pizza hear so that's all I'll review, food wise anyway. The restaurant was clean and very authentic Italian. The services was friendly but I've only ever been there when it was slow so I can't really tell you what to expect during the lunch or dinner rush. As for the pizza I had, SO good. It had a tomato sauce on it, not the marinara we are used to eating from fast food pizza places. The cheese was like one of those commercials, the one were someone takes a bite and the cheese just strings out from your mouth back to the slice. the pepperoni tasted fresh, I was a little taken aback when I first tried it. ( I've never had fresh pepperoni.) I got a large 16 inch and shared with 3 other people, there were leftovers! They have a x-large pizza tho. 18 inches!!!!!!! That is massive. The "Taste of Italy" as recommended by our waitress. The ravioli and tortellini was ok. The Alfredo sauce was very tasty. The Lasagne was not good at all, very acidic odd flavor. The "Lobster Ravioli" was very good. I read about how good the "Pink Sauce" was on the reviews. It was good, but not life changing. We passed through Ruston last night and decided to stop by Roma's for dinner based on its close proximity to our hotel and its yelp reviews. We were not disappointed! Our party of 4 was quickly seated and our drink order was taken. Our waiter was attentive and friendly with our kids. He quickly brought out our salads and some of the yummiest and lightest garlic bread we've ever had. We ordered a medium meat lovers pizza, mozzarella sticks that were served with a large helping of marinara sauce, two side salads and a slice of cheesecake. Everything was delicious!
