Truly a gem! This is a very unique store one that puts a smile on your face. Not only can you find Pandoro Classic all year around, but you will find a wide variety of interesting pastas from different regions of Italy. The owner says he's been there for over 65 years!! I would give this a 3 for produce, but a 5 for meat, cheese, bread and the owner behind the counter. He is about 4'8", his name is Rosario ("Rose" to get the proper phonetic sound in English) and he is the real deal. Years ago my brother Harry and I went in, ordered a plate of cheese and genoa salami, and made the mistake of asking for crackers. Rosario became 7 feet tall...."CRACKERS? NO CRACKERS!!!!" Geez Harry, what the hell did you say? Rosario told his counter person to pull out a loaf of olive bread to take home with us. That was years ago and I am still coming back. I just ask Ros what should I have? He often hands me a slice of cheese, or salami, or whatever he wants me to savor while waiting in line. I have gotten some of his home pressed olive oil. He used to carry the best tomato sauce, but darn if it isnt there anymore. Now I get a very good one, waaay better than what the stores offer. And I often stock up on some lemon soda. The store smells of food, and if you are not used to smelling food in the antiseptic stores that Americans are used to, then be prepared. This is a genuine, customer loving, good food oriented small deli with a big heart and an amazing guy named Rosario who wants nothing more than to feed you the best italian he can. This place is still a treasure for me. And I love the sandwich. For anyone put off by the pile, he does it because otherwise the line would be out the door. They sell quickly so it's not like its been sitting there that long. Every trip I uncover something new, and thought I would share some of my discoveries. They have fantastic sausages. I love them and usually make a great dinner with them, a can of tomatoes from here, some fresh basil, simmer for a while and serve whatever imported pasta you like. Their olives are great as well, very flavorful and affordable. Excellent selection of cheeses as well. The lasagna and cheese ravioli ain the freezer case are amazing as well. Just got back from Italy and wanted to make some carbonara. I was so disappointed with Ralph's, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's not having what I need and I was on the verge of giving up when my friend recommended me to this place. Found their facebook page and asked if they have what I need. They do. It's only 6 minutes away from me so I thought I'd check this place out. It's also reasonably priced, since it's imported it's only slightly pricier than what I bought in Italy. I love the counter. Selection ain't that much but it'll suffice. The owner is very friendly, recommended cheese to go with my carbonara. I was looking for reggiano at first. This lady in front of me bought 11 sandwiches and I was compelled to get one too. For some reason, the sandwich reminded me of the small cafes next to vatican city... It's great if you just want something simple. I brought it home and toasted it for 50 secs in the microwave (I like my cheese melted). Also added my truffle oil to the sandwich. It's not the best sandwich in the world but it's good home made italian sandwich. Definitely coming back here again for my italian needs. read more

I found my little piece of Heaven the minute I stepped inside Roma Market. It was 10 minutes before closing and no sandwiches were being made . The friendly cashier told the sandwich guys to make me a sandwich anyhow. They made me a prosciutto, cheese and olive oil on the lightest fluffiest baguette I ever tasted . It was a beautiful sandwich. I fact I ordered two . As I was checking out the lovely cashier noticed my visitor name tag from Huntington Hospital. He'll give you another slice of beautifully sliced salami, this time rolled up with equally finely sliced provolone and you'll end up taking 1/2 a lb of it home. Want more cheese? Done. Pizza? He'll point out his favorite Margherita pizza to you. "I eat this every night. Delicious." A sandwich? It's already wrapped and ready for you on the counter. "I make sandwiches all day." This market is amazing. I live minutes away and I discovered it too long after I moved here. It's small but has the perfect selection of Italian deli meat & cheese, bread, pastas, pickles, sauces, cookies, wine.. fresh produce, everything you need to make a delicious fancy or simple meal at home, without breaking the bank. The story is romantic and the store is quaint and the owner is a legend but this sandwich is downright ordinary. My boyfriend and I decided to grab the famous sandwich since we were in the area and lemme just say, it did NOT disappoint. The store only allows for 10 people inside at a time due to social distancing restraints. It has an old school Italian shop vibe to it with delicious cheeses, wine and pasta everywhere. There is no separate line to order the sandwich, so you just line up with everybody else paying. You pay for the sandwich at the register and pick it up there at the same time. Super efficient and orderly! The sandwich itself is so simple yet delicious at the same time, a few different meats, cheese and a little bit of olive oil! The bread changes day by day I think because we got French rolls but still tasted incredible. It was less than $15 for two sandwiches, so if you're in the area, check it out! read more

I have been going to this place for a couple years, since I was introduced to it by a friend and will continue to go back for one thing - its scrumptious, delicious sandwich filled with 3 kind of meat (I know one is prosciutto and another is mortadella or something, but I asked and forgot), provolone, olive oil and bread. So he knows his stuff, thats why you just ask for a sandwich, dont get all created and asking for other topping or condiments on it. Just let him make his sandwich, he may and in the past will let you try different meats and cheeses, but usually when its gone with my friend or brought a pretty girl with me - he likes the ladies :) However, one last think never ask for anything other than a sandwich or something non italian. I had a friend, who when ordering sandwiches, asked our mutual friend via phone what kind of sandwich she wanted. She asked for Turkey. Mr Romo, was not pleased, he told my friend "why do you bring these kind of people to my store" and she did not get a sandwich. Hence just order the sandwich or go to Subway or something.
