Love love this place! I've been back many times and I always order from here when I have parties and get togethers. Solid food and amazing staff! This place is mostly famous for their Turon. Just the right amount of crunch to sweetness ratio. I especially love that they have catering trays for everything you would want to bring to a filipino party. You can order their Turon in orders of 5 or more which gives you plenty of options if you want people to share. The pieces are pretty long so my tip would be to cut them in half to feed more mouths. Last time I went I got their lumpia and pancit bihon. My goodness!! Delicious and so fresh. The noodles I ate for days even after the party but everyone enjoyed it. I like the thin and thick noodles so happy they offered more than just the traditional pancit. Plenty of lumpia sauce was given and was thankful they hooked it up. The team at Chaaaste is phenomenal!! Honestly everyone is so friendly and kind. They always ask me about my day and curious where I'm going with all their delicious food. So family oriented and you could tell they put a lot of love into their food. I especially love seeing the Lola's and Aunties behind the counter at the register. So sweet! They have a small parking lot but I never had issues parking. There are always spots open. It's in a small plaza, but they offer everything you could need filipino. There's even a convenience store and some steam table staples available throughout the day. Their longanisa is fire and can't go wrong with anything they have hot and fresh. They have a small market section where you can grab snacks, sauces, and pantry items, and then a hot food area where they serve ready to eat dishes. I got some pancit, longganisa, and lechon. The pancit was solid, the longganisa was juicy and had that sweet flavor, and the lechon was really good. Moist with super crispy skin. This is a small Market that has a little bit of everything that you're looking for from Southeast Asia. It's like a 7-Eleven, Filipino style. It's fun to look at the various items available here. You will always end up with more than just what you were looking for. I enjoy the cracker nuts, dried mangoes, and specialty dried items. Their selection of items is always changing so I like to look at what's new and on display. I will sometimes ask the front counter what just came in. The Fresh Deli, located up a small incline to the left as you enter the market, is spectacular. The flavor of the food permeates the entrance to the market. They have an incredible selection of fresh made food. It is difficult to make a decision between the different items. I asked for some help from the gentleman behind the counter. I've dealt with Christian, Gabriel and Abraham and all three are knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to explain how some of the food was prepared and the special attention that was given to each individual item. I wanted to limit myself to two items. I decided on the special marinated Beef Caldereta and the Lechon Kawali. On another trip I decided to try the Pork Tochino and the Barbecue Chicken Skewers. I can't tell you how happy I am with the flavors of the food from the deli. Everything was done to perfection. The Chicken skewers were tender and moist with a great barbecue flavor. The Toccino had a nice marinade flavor and was not too sweet. The Lechon was tender and had enough fat to give it a great flavor and texture. I have to admit the Caldereta was my favorite. Great taste, texture, and just the right spices to give it a little kick. The rice and noodles were a perfect accompaniment. All the sauces I was given added to the flavor of all the dishes. At the cash register at the front counter I paid for my items and asked about other items coming in in the near future. I found out that they are not always sure what's going to become available but always looking for something that will make their customers happy. This is truly a family establishment. I found out that everybody there is related. They definitely give exceptional service and quality merchandise, and delicious food. OMG...why have I not been here personally yet!? We have only met at parties!!!! So far I have had their famous Turon (A++++), BBQ chicken skewers (A+++), pancit bihon (A), pancit palabok (A+), sausages (A), and their fried tilapia (A+). Everything from here is SO good and I'm not exaggerating! The Turon and BBQ chicken skewers are always the talk at the parties I go to and they are NOT lying. Generous portions and not drying at all! Although I love everything I had from their catering menu so far I have not tried their halo-halo yet which is one of my favorite desserts! Everything here is delicious. They are super warm and friendly and they give a ton of food. Bring a friend and don't forget to get some turon. They are bananas wrapped like egg rolls and deep fried and then candied. So good they almost feel wrong. Chris was my server and he was such an incredible reminder to slow down and enjoy the little moments in life. He was an amazing conversationalist and really made me feel welcomed and almost like family! He was kind enough to give me a few recommendations but above all I appreciate him taking time to connect with me in a genuine way. Having lived in Pasadena for a while now, I can't believe I haven't visited this Filipino market yet! I walked in on a weekday afternoon after work and was warmly greeted by the worker up front. It's a small location but has your essential Filipino groceries while also having your favorite Filipino snacks, and more! There's also a hot food area that has the essentials in cuisine such as Chicken Adobo, Lumpia, and more. I picked up groceries such as Filipino hot dogs, ube pancake mix, etc and of course had to pick up their hot food. I got their Chicken adobo, lechon kawali, tinola, and kare kare. The worker at the stand was so kind and made great conversation, and even threw in a free turon for my partner and I to try! While checking out, the cashier up front gave me a huge box to put all of my groceries and hot food in. What a way to represent Filipino hospitality! Truly a HIDDEN GEM, not like the influencer kind. It'sactually pretty hidden. It's a cute snack shop on one side with a huge variety of imported snack and drinks. I was craving for sisig as I have not had it in a long time. However, their sisig is only for catering orders, so that was a bit disappointing. Although service was a bit slow, but staffs there were extremely nice & patient. They gave me a sample of their turon & told me that is their speciality. The sample they gave me was really crunchy & sweet. It's really good if you're craving for something sweet & savory. I ordered 2 chicken skewers & a small order of beef (not sure what it's called). The small beef costed $11.50 which was too expensive in my opinion & it tasted really sour. In addition, their chicken skewers are a bit burnt & dried. Inside the market was small but super clean. This is a small Filipino market and a deli on the left side when you walk in. There's limited parking in the plaza but there's also street parking. The market has a bunch of snacks and sweets to check out. We wanted to check out the Filipino food since there's not a lot of options in the area. They have a variety of readily hot foods, perfect for a quick meal. They also have catering. There's no seating here, you order the food for takeout. The garlic rice was pretty good and comforting. Mas sarap - very tasty! The point-point food is delicious. I ordered a 50 piece lumpia shanghai for a party and it was hot and crispy. And, their inihaw (BBQ skewers) are great. Though, my favorite is the halo-halo frozen sundae treat. Loved this place, been coming for over two years would tell so many people about it but not sure anymore . This place has some of the better Filipino foods, but try to place a catering order over the phone and everything goes downhill from the beginning. Was trying to place an order ($400) worth of turon for Christmas, and was told I needed to pay it upfront. I told them I don't have the card on me, my partner was going to pay for it, and told them I was driving down far, they didn't care and kept mentioning their no shows. But here's the issue, if I'm driving down far, why would I no show if I loved coming to this place and am a loyal customer? On top of that they have a go fund me on their IG to fix the restaurant, which doesn't make sense if you're just willing to say no to a large order just like that to a loyal customer. Even after explaining my end they pretty much said "don't care too bad" I wouldn't recommend them again read more

I have Chaaste family Market  bookmarked for a while. Finally, I went to the market because I had this sudden craving to pancit. I always look for a family-owned business because I love to support them. The place has two sections; market section and the other section is for preparing traditional Filipino food. I bought many goodies first and left them with the cashier who actually was the owner as she told us later. Then we went to the deli section to order some dishes. We got, -Pork lumpia, they sell them in ten. It was delicious and crispy. -1 large Pancit; my craving for that day. I was glad I went and tried it. It was perfect. -1 Medium Adobo chicken. My family loved the chicken. It was well marinated. -1 medium veggie. The vegetables were not soft, so it wasn't my favorite there. -2 chicken skewers were really tasty and flavorful. -Ube custard turon, that was outstanding! Caramelized and crispy from outside and ube was creamy and perfectly delicious from inside. One order of Ube turon had three of them which was perfect for me. We took the receipt to pay at the front. The owner introduced herself. She told us that she established this market in 1978. Now, her nephews come in the weekend to help her to run the business. She is a sweet and friendly lady. Her nephew also was very nice and helpful. He was the young man who served us in the deli. He knew it was our first time there so he was explaining to us some dishes that they had that day. I'm going to go back, way back....In high school I had a Filipino friend and his parents would oftentimes make us home-cooked bbq beef and lumpia. My gawd that stuff was phenomenal! When I saw Chaaste pop up on Yelp for me, I bookmarked it so I could go back in time to those high school days. Today was that fine day. When you walk in "Momma" will greet you as you walk over to where you order food. That's where I found the nice fellow pictured who is "Momma's" nephew. We chatted it up a bit as we discussed options since it was my first time. My heart was set on beef bbq and lumpia but they don't carry beef bbq. So, I opted for the chicken bbq and lumpia. I like pancit but also wanted to try the garlic fried rice so I did 1/3 rice, 2/3 noodles. Was the food here just as I remembered at my friend's house? No, but not because anything is lacking at Chaaste. The home cooked meals were served right when made and they served beef bbq. So, you can't really compare the two experiences. But, the food at Chaaste was delish and tasty! The portions were also very generous - did you see how high my plate was piled?! I'm not a Filipino food connoisseur so I did not know what the other dishes pictured were and I was there on a mission - to have Filipino bbq! I will definitely be returning to try other stuff. Perhaps by then someone will start serving beef bbq. Hint, hint. The nice gentleman in the pic hooked me up with the turon. Were my teeth and Invisalign attachments full of sticky stuff? Yes. If you have ever wished Panda Express came in a Filipino edition, Chaaste Family Market is basically that dream in real life. Hot trays, fast service, and all the Filipino classics lined up like they are ready to jump straight onto your plate. The bonus is the wall of Filipino snacks that always tempt you to leave with more than you planned. I have been coming here for years but this is my first time putting in a review. This visit was all about a party tray of lumpia. Perfectly crisp, generously filled, and it came with a sweet and sour sauce that could honestly make cardboard taste good. The tray did not survive the party. No regrets. I also walked out with their flavored turon because resisting that is above my pay grade. They have several choices but we went with ube. It is rich, sweet, and dangerous in the best way. Easily the star of the haul. Before checking out, I grabbed a pack of Nagaraya garlic cracker nuts for the road because who am I kidding, you do not leave a Filipino market without a snack. Nice local family business that serves a wide selection of Filipino food. As a turon fan, I learned that they have Ube turons (and other specialty turons) so I had to check this place out. So, we ended up getting the regular turons plus the Ube and Flan specialty turons. The specialty turons are the normal turons with the additional flavor filling injected inside. They were busy on this visit so they gave us the fillings on the side. The fillings tasted good on their own and as a dip but I'm sure they would be better injected inside but think I still like the OG turons with jackfruit (Lanka). We also got a Halo Halo, longanesa sausage and lechon. The lechon was especially fresh and tasty. They have two different dipping sauces for the lechon. A darker sauce that's liver based and a clearer sauce that's vinegar based. We got the vinegar based sauce as I don't like liver so just a caveat to know/select the sauce that you want to use. I'd go back to get more turons for sure especially since they are not far away and I'd also like to try some more of the hot foods in a plate format with rice or pancit. Check out my pics. They are inside the The Allen Center which doesn't have very good signage for the businesses inside. In the plate option, it's very similar to how you order with Panda Express, you have two entrees and can pick between Pancit (Filipino Noodle Dish) and Rice, or even go half and half.
