The GodMother sandwhich is delicious, could be the added touch of their house baked bread!

On my first trip to Paris decades ago I ate for the first time a Danish Fransk Hot Dog. A spicy hot dog stuffed into a hot baguette with only hot French mustard as a condiment. I fell in love. So years later every time I visited Paris a must do was to have my repeat love affair with the hot dog I ate at a food stand at the la Place et l'Esplanade du Trocadéro. (which has now changed names) I've never been able to duplicate the experience here in the States, except for homemade. The problem is finding just the right baguette, which is the secret to this hot dog. Not even throughout Paris at different hot dog stands do they use the right baguette or hotdog. The hot dog texture and taste can be slightly off as well as the mustard. However, when perfect the hot dog and mustard should be spicy. I was thrilled when I came across Point Eat and they serve a Czech hot dog in a stuffed baguette, and their picture confirmed it. Although it was invented in the 1970's in Denmark, it has found its way across Europe to France and Czech Republic among other countries. My hats off to Point Eat to getting closer to my love affair with this style of hot dog then I've been able to do at home. And, it's the only time I've seen it on a menu anywhere in the United States. The hot dog and mustard could be spicier, but I'm not complaining, because the one thing that is absolutely perfection is their baguette which is the real secret to the Fransk/French/Czech hot dog. I'll be back to try their other sandwiches which look great with their homemade Focaccia and definitely their hot dog. By the way their hot dog is huge, not your standard run of the mill hot dog. I dropped my mom off up the street for her acupuncture appt and was looking for a quick bite to eat. I was going to get a sandwich at Roma market but the parking is atrocious, so I saw this place and decided to give it a try. The positive: The menu is simple and has some nice looking sandwiches but very limited pasta selections. I ordered the prosciutto and fig. Sandwich was quickly prepared to go. The negative: The woman taking my order talked on her phone the entire time, which was off putting. I was planning to eat my sandwich there, but the cigarette smoke from the barbers standing outside the barber shop wafted into the sandwich shop, so I left. They didn't cut the sandwich in half so I ended up wrestling with a whole sandwich. It was good but I think they forgot to put pesto on it-it was a bit dry. The to go flyers they have on the counter showed old pricing-apparently my $15 sandwich used to be $13.99. Final thoughts...fresh ingredients on fresh bread, but next time I think I'll stick with Roma market. read more

Stopped by the other day to grab a sandwich. I got the Godmother and it was solid, loaded with Italian cold cuts. The bread is what really stood out. Crispy on the outside but not too hard, which made a big difference. I actually enjoyed it a lot. Gonna dock a star though because my friend ordered the Czech dog and it took a while to come out. When it finally did, it was cold in the middle. They offered to remake it, which was nice, but it took so long that I had already finished my food by the time the new one came out. I'd probably stick to the sandwiches here. The Godmother was definitely the move. read more

Ordered via delivery app for a nearby sandwich shop. Not sure if this place is new because of the number of reviews but the food is pretty tasty. I ordered the Godmother which is a salami, capicola, mortadella and provolone, basically a classic Italian sub but on foccacia. The bread really elevated the sandwich, everything was fresh and tasty. There's been a few menu changes over the past few months but recently, my favorite has been their Prosciutto and Fig sandwich. All their produce tastes very fresh and doesn't sit heavy in my stomach at all. All their sandwiches that I've had have been pretty packed with protein, they DO NOT skimp at all.
