This place has gone downhill pretty fast. Earlier it was a quality place with great service and tasty pizza. Since it has brought in ''help'' (most likely relatives) the service and the food has taken deep dive. Twice it has happened that I ordered thin crust pizza and twice they delivered regular pizza. To top it off this time it was wasn't even cut into slices. The attitude here now is that Roma doesn't give a damn about its customers. This is more for sad for me than them. I used to deliver pizza there and it has spoiled me forever. Never again will I be able to eat fake, cardboard crust chain pizza anymore. Fresh, hand tossed dough, delicious sauce and the best cheese. Sicillian pizzas are excellent with a nice golden crust but not excessively buttery, like Pizza Hut. The cheesesteaks are the best outside of Philly and this is one of the only restaurants I've seen, outside of Jersey, that serves pork roll sandwiches. I ordered a couple pasta dishes from this place to share and I was a little disappointed. Most recently I got the spicy shrimp scampi and the spicyness was good but the sauce had barely any flavor. It just tasted creamy and thick, and I think some spices and flavor dimension would make this delicious but right now it just tastes like milk. Also the shrimp had their tails on which is a personal pet peeve of mine. I also got the mild wings and those were good, unique flavor that tasted kind of vinaigrettey. I tried Roma for the first time yesterday because I saw them listed on one of the food ordering apps I started using. I was really craving a burger and was pleasantly surprised to see they delivered burgers. I got the bacon cheeseburger and at first sight I wasn't impressed, but it tasted way better then it looked like it would and I'd def order it again. The fries were just okay to me. I also got the garlic knots app - delicious, soft, and doughy. The delivery took longer than I expected but the food quality made up for it. Some reviews say this,place is closed but I ordered from there last night. This pizza is as close to my beloved authentic new York pizza as I've had in a year. Great little place for take out. This has been my go-to for pizza for a while now, and if I'm feeling like a Philly, their Mexican Cheese Steak is the way to go. I recently picked up some pizza while my brother-in-law was in town, and he was seriously impressed. Overall awful experience. First, service said it would take an hour when it actually took an hour and a half. Communication was poor between the restaurant and my party. Food was luke warm. Food was disgusting. I could have made something better myself. We chose to get mozzarella sticks and bacon cheese fries which are pretty basic dishes. The mozzarella sticks were not hot and did not really taste like cheese. The bacon cheese fries were the worst part. They were made of soggy fries that seemed like they had been reheated in the microwave. Also, the cheese was not melted and the "bacon" was actually ham. Once again, you could not taste the cheese. I am truly disappointed in every part of this interaction and would advise you to look else where before ordering from here. read more

I placed an order on campusfood since I had not tried this place yet. After submitting my order, the wait was a little over an hour. Upon receiving the pizza, it was barely warmer than room temperature. The taste was merely 'okay', but the breadsticks we received were underflavored, and basically just a giant glob of cheese. The crust of the pizza was pretty dry as well. Toppings were fairly fresh (bacon, mushrooms, spinach and black olives), but it really felt like they just used turkey bacon instead of the real thing. Huge taste difference. The big downfall is that after my order was placed, paid for, and delievered, there were additional charges afterward. I was charged 4.17 after the fact by the restaurant for no apparent reason. There was no call with issues regarding the order before it was delivered, so apparently their driver just wanted an extra tip by reaching into my bank account. I'm filing a dispute with both campusfood and my bank. Avoid if you don't like businesses blindly taking your money. read more

Ordered food from this place online, these people didn't even have their hours right online. Did a stay awake till about 3:30 am before I realized my food wasn't gonna be ready, so I settled for a microwave burrito instead. We have always chosen Roma when we decide to get Pizzas for many years but I decided we will never go back there again. The pizza still remains to be good but they suddenly started charging more than 20% of Pre-Tip. It used to be the best in Blacksburg (until Sal's moved in) and before it was sold and bought by a new group of owners. The pizza now is NOT NY-style pizza and something between CiCi's and Pizza-hut. It is okay, but nothing close to NY-style like it used to be. I lived in NJ most of my life and when we moved to Blacksburg, I was so happy to find this place only for it to be changed to dissapointment. :( read more

A few weeks ago I wanted some delivery pizza because my kitchen was out of commission. I decided to take another chance on Roma and was glad I did. One of the key differences between my bad summer experience and my good fall pizza was that the bad pizza came at the end of a delivery route -- it was only warm. I ordered again and I must have been the first stop the delivery driver made, because it was steaming hot, probably right out of the oven 4 minutes before. The flavors snapped and the ingredients were good quality. I'm happy to give Roma a better review and hope they keep it consistent. read more

I grew up on calzones from New York, so it's safe o say I had some expectations when I ordered a calzone from Roma Pizza. I have to say, it was the best I found around here. Was happy it included marinara sauce on the side. It's hard to write a reliable review because they have not been consistent in quality in the past. Out of the last 5 orders I'd say 2 were one star, 1 was average and the last 2 were 4 stars (which is why I rated them 4). They had a serious problem with slow delivery times (an hour and a half wasn't unusual), overcooked pizza (right on the edge of burnt) and getting the order wrong. Recently though in the past 3-4 months they have improved greatly with the items being right, not burnt and delivered pretty quickly. Got delivery of breaded mushrooms and stuffed shells made with Alfredo sauce. The breaded mushrooms appetizer was just as expected and came with about 15 large mushrooms. The shells were plump and the Alfredo sauce was thick, creamy and had great flavor. The order came with a large side of garlic bread which when delivered was chewy but otherwise tasty. I like to try local pizza when I travel for work. The is however my first review to express my dislike for the NY style pizza at Romas. Last week I tried another local Blacksburg establishment and it was quite good, however my pizza from Romas is probably one of the worst pizzas I have ever had (outside of a chef-boyardee homemade pizza in a box, lol). Anyway the cheese was rubbery, reminded me of the old Little Ceasers commercial where the cheese falls out of the can and starts bouncing around and the guy in the commercial says "It's Cheese". The crust was not a typical lighter textured crust on a NY style pizza, it was very heavy like biting into a bagel or something. The sauce was just Meh.
