It's so much more than Bruce Willis' favorite sandwich shop. We stopped in to kill an hour on our way to a funeral. My wife had a huge Cobb Salad, mostly iceberg lettuce but with lots of protein toppings. I had two tasty (not Andy's tasty but still pretty good) slices of pizza and a can of soda. The total, including a 3% "Credit Card Surcharge," was $17.45. To me, that's not too shabby. It was also fun browsing their store. The walls are festooned with BW pictures and movie posters. They have lots of interesting stuff for sale, including a large selection of homemade baked goods. The Roman Pantry isn't quite a diner, and if you're looking for a place to eat that isn't one of those (I can't imagine why), or you happen to be at this intersection of N. I was recommended this place by a local and it did not let down. One of the best cheesesteaks I've had in the Philadelphia area. I rank it in the top 10. It's got to be one of the biggest cheesesteaks I've ever had. But that doesn't mean there's a lack of quality. The meat and cheese ratio were great and melted very nicely. I loved everything about it. I wish I had stayed longer in the store because it seemed like there was a lot to it that I may have missed. Ordered a wrap which I saw the cook wrapping with his bare hands directly on the unsanitary countertop. This issue was rectified as they promptly made me another one when requested. The wrap was terrible.They put the scorching hot chicken on the lettuce and wrapped it. In turn,the lettuce was cooked. Have you tried eating a wrap with cooked lettuce instead of fresh lettuce . Needless to say instead of having a cold refreshing sandwich,I was stuck with a hot,soggy wrap. I was reduced to eating the chicken only directly out of the wrap. This is a great mom and pop restaurant/deli/pizzeria! We heard breakfast was great. It was ok. Bacon was done right. I had French toast, eggs, and country potatoes. The French toast wasn't Texas style thick French toast it was ok, the eggs were over hard; I ordered over easy. The potatoes were good. Despite breakfast being so-so. The deli here is excellent. Philly cheesesteak was really good and loaded. So loaded I didn't mind sharing and that says a lot. Lots of options for food and for desserts. The place has parking and a good amount of available seating. Once you have your food the place feels nice to enjoy your meal. So far I'm not so impressed and I really want to be! I've had the eggplant parmigiana dinner: eggplant was mushy, pasta over cooked and the sauce was absolutely delicious but sparse. If I ever order pasta again I will request Al dente and extra sauce. The broccoli raabe was bitter. Second visit: The cold turkey sub was actually very good and the 18" cheese steak was so loaded I had to reserve most of the meat which provided an additional 3 meals over salad. Was hesitant to pull into this place at first because my husband and I have this silly criteria that reviews on Yelp must meet the criteria of at least 4 stars but with at least 100 reviews. This only had 27 reviews at the time, but was the only place for a quick stop in a hurry. Well, it's our 2nd visit in 2 days and we might be back for a 3rd before we leave this afternoon from a travel softball tournament at Carneys Point Recreation Center. Grew up nearby and never made it over to the RP so I gave it a try..and downright nasty is how I can sum up my "Philly cheesesteak"..I'm honestly concerned about what I put it my body. We never heard the familiar clanging of the spatula hitting grill, and after we opened our steak it was obvious why. They never cooked any of it to order. The super finely diced minced meat is stored premixed with the whiz, kept warm and scooped into the roll for service. Like a trailer park sloppy joe. Can't make this stuff up. It also had huge chunks of sweet peppers, which really turned me off. Not a Philly steak at all. Overall very bland, like a knockoff rendition you'd get somewhere out west. First time I can remember reaching for salt while eating a "steak" with whiz. Really baffled at this places reputation. I guess the 47 photos of Bruce Willis make it for it though. read more

We'll I'm going to try being nice, actually I'm trying to support these places during the covid pandemic and I know things are hard right now but that doesn't mean they can serve us below standard food, i got a lg pizza besides it taking 45 mins to cook it had no flavor at all it was like eating cardboard. The salad was just some lettuce, onions and croutons throw into a plastic container, i also got a slice of the supposedly homemade cheesecake. The cheesecake was soggy and old enough to be sour the graham's cracker crust was liquefy and made me sick. And just a little note. The girl's working there were absolutely not happy to be there and we actually felt like we were bothering them. The girl at the cashier station had her resting bitch face in full swing. I don't normally tight reviews unless they are pretty bad. My husband and I are normal customers as they do make excellent deserts. Unfortunately this time around we got dinner. The main problem wasn't the food itself it was the incredibly nasty attitude we got when 35 min later after ordering we asked the status of our food while other people who came in after us walked out before we did. All they had to do was say hey we are running behind or at the very least apologize for the delay. Did that happen? Nope, instead we got attitude and snarky looks by the same person who messed up simple sandwiches before and then acts like it the customers fault. You don't want to catch them on a bad day. It'll be a bad experience. Food may still be good, but the interaction may leave a bad taste in your mouth. Bruce Willis says they have the best cheese steaks on the planet, so I was curious to check this place out. I ended up ordering the Philly cheese steak (peppers, cheddar, mushrooms, and onions) but substituted the sweet peppers for hot peppers...Spice is nice! The cheese steak was DELICIOUS! Ooey gooey gloriousness! And it was packed full of meat. We all got the smalls (10 inch), but there's the option for the large (20 inch). The small will definitely get you full quickly - only one person out of the four of us was able to totally finish. Definitely worth the $7.50 I paid for it. This place is awesome! Everything was nice about this little store. The service was friendly like out of a 1960s general store. I stopped in to get two slices of pizza. I didn't even have to wait for them to reheat it, because it had just come out of the oven. The pizza was good and cheesy. My only complaint was that the crust was thicker than I like. Place is nice, so is the menu. People who rave about this cheesesteak have no clue what it should be. Just because the sandwich is packed past the point of falling out doesn't make it good! Using the fact it's overstuffed tells me you are about quantity over quality. The meat was more roast beef like than cheesesteak like to me, and the chunks and globs of it were just too much. Thin sliced fresh ribeye is crucial, not sure what this is. The roll also was to weak to hold up. It was a mushy mess to eat. That just shouldn't happen on a real cheesesteak. I'm not sure Bruce Willis knows what a good cheesesteak is, maybe he should hit Angelos in Haddonfield, or Steve's Prince of steaks, or Spot Burger on W Girard. These three examples are cheesesteaks. We stopped here while passing through town. It was recommend we have the cheese steak sandwich and it was gooooood! The portions were huge with lots of meat and not just some thin steak umm strips , were talking good, tender , moist, juicy , steak bites!!! The bread was very fresh and soft and not at all overly large so no sub that's all bread!! They also didn't try to fill the cheesesteak with lettuce tomato and all that crap that doesn't go in it!
