Sudan
Cameron H.

Went to Holmes on Saturday understanding that they might be busy. The customer service was not at all bad but at the same time it was not great. The guy taking my order was cool very laid back and chill. It would be nit picking to say there wasn't a thank you etc and all the expected cs stuff. What did I get? I got a small turkey, a small Italian and a large Sudan which is their signature sub but it is literally just a Nigerian with a different name. Total came out to $40 which is an excellent price! Turkey- They way I ordered it, it was accoutrement heavy (peppers, pepper relish, onion, tomato etc) I ordered the turkey with mayo not oil and honestly I got very random tastes of turkey but the majority of flavor was pepper onion pickle and the mayo...it could be the way I ordered it so I can't blame them but for what I ordered? 5.5/10 Italian- I ordered it the same as the turkey except I got oil instead of mayo and same result no flavor of the hams or salami just pickled veggies and onion... 4.5/10 Sudan- Again I ordered the same way I got both oil and mayo I believe....i was not impressed with this although I can say I would definitely recommend it. The most prominent flavor besides the veggies was roast beef and cooper sharp...I would have liked to taste the turkey and corned beef for sure but it was all roast beef.... All in all I'd recommend this place I'd hold off on the veggies etc and let the meat and cheese shine through...one great point was the bread held up even tho we didn't eat them for 45 min after we ordered so that was a huge plus... Overall rating I would give Holmes hoagies a 6.4/10 and recommend that everyone take the trip and give them your business!!!

Keep going to the stop sign. When you're at the stop sign look across the street to the left and they're right there. I got lucky and found street parking right in front of their door. Walked in and they were packed. One tiny table open squashed between two others and the bar were my options so I sat at the bar. I try to pay cash at Mom & Pops place so they're not hammered by the credit card fees. They were low on change and recommending credit cards. I dug around in my pockets and found exact change. They were all out of pastries but one. I wanted to try their pasties de nada but all that was left was a croissant so I ordered it, along with their French toast and an oatmilk cappuccino. Turns out the croissant was already purchased by another patron who was going to have it after their meal. It hadn't been served yet. I received a refund. A couple showed up and sat at the bar as all the tables were full. Then someone else showed up and pointed at the seat I had my coat on saying they were told to sit there as it was the last seat open in the entire place. Packed. The French toast came out in good time but somehow my cappuccino got lost in the mix. It was immediately made and brought out. The French toast is as good as everyone says it is. Light, well filled, great flavor without being too sweet. I was trying to eat it all but had to stop 3/4 of the way as somehow it's filling. The cappuccino is also very good. I made the mistake of wanting to try them out at 11:45 on a holiday. 100% my bad. Considering there are only 3 people working the entire establishment, they did a great job. The food and drink were totally worth it and I will be back (at a less busy time)! *Quick add: I usually don't post while in the establishment but did here. Even with it being busy the owner came by to talk about the review and share a little about their business. They do evening events, private dinners. They also host guest chefs. Their goal is to elevate dishes, which is exactly what they did to the French toast. Based on this one breakfast I would definitely consider them for any function I was hosting in the area.

The vegan cauliflower Kati Roll from the Indian place was amazing!! as well as the naan bread. So tasty. It's my new favorite thing. My husband had the Korean Chicken at the Crispy Chicken place next to the Indian place and said it was incredible. My kids had the Italian place and had pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. So so good. Thin and crispy pizza. Our other family member had the chicken tacos from the Mexican place. Very very good, juicy flavorful chicken served with limes and salsa. The salsa was okay. They red was flavorful. The green was trash. Might as well be green water. Throw it away.

We were able to take advantage of the happy hour pricing and grabbed a couple of beers before checking out the approximately ten vendors for food. My wife opted for a Masala power bowl with salmon and really liked it. I ordered wings from Stix Chicken. I got the hot and sweet sauce on eight wings for $13. It took almost 20 minutes to get my food but these were some of the best (and messiest) wings I ever had! I don't know how they get them that crispy but they were excellent. Prices were on par with most food trucks not cheap but fair. This place is a good choice for a more interesting fast casual meal.
