Dishonest business practices. I ordered a margarita pizza by phone, the (person said 20 minutes). I went in to pick it up 25 minutes later and he still hadn't put it in the oven. He was just finishing putting it together as I was standing there and then he put it in the oven. So I had to wait. I asked "how much?" to the boy at the counter and he asked his dad how much? His dad said $27. I paid, then wondered how much is the pizza that it came to $27 for an 8 cut pie. I asked for a menu and the boy got one for me. The menu said $23.05 for the pizza I ordered. I asked why I was charged $27 if the the pizza was $23.05. The boy said that is the price with tax. I said tax does not add up to $27. I said maybe at most it would be $25. The boy then said you need to talk to my dad since he is the one that said it cost $27. Waited for his dad to come over but he just ignored me, then I asked again about the pricing and the boy asked his dad again to come over. The dad said that was the price with tax, so I asked how much is tax? He said 8.25%. I said if tax is 8.25 then my total would be $24.95. The dad then says to me the price on the menu is not correct. He proceeds to say he has been in business for over 20 years and he isn't trying to rip anyone off. I said I just want to know what price I should be paying when I order something. If the menu isn't right how will I know. He then says, "Under the current administration I have to keep raising my prices." Then opens the register and gives me one dollar back. (He is blaming his random pricing on the government. Every business shows what price they charge for things. What does the government have to do with informing your customers what price to charge?) He then says I need to talk with the owner about the prices. (I know he is the owner. Another dishonest comment. He said earlier "he" has been in business for over 20 years. Obviously he is the owner.) He then tells his son that he charged me the wrong price. I still was never told what the price was so that I could calculate the total being $26 (after the $1 back) Final verdict: randomly over charging and dishonesty equals no repeat business from me and making sure I warn others. Things are getting expensive enough, do we have to deal with random overcharging too! read more

We moved to Latham last year, and have ordered from Roman Pizza several times since then, I'm surprised I hadn't already written my review! First off, ordering from them is extremely convenient for us - whether we choose to call, or order online, delivery is ALWAYS extremely fast, and sooner than anticipated. That could have something to do with living less than a mile away...but still appreciated! We've only ever ordered pizza or subs, and both have been excellent. The only item we've ever ordered that I haven't cared for was their sicilian style pizza, I'm not sure if it was an off night or what, but I didn't find the crust to be crispy enough nor the cheese to be melted enough. But, since then, we've stuck to round pizzas, which have all been great. Their subs are HUGE, and toppings are plentiful. The bread that they use for their subs are also extremely high quality. Crisp on the outside, but soft and chewy inside...not the cheap soft rolls you might find elsewhere. They also provide a little side of pasta salad with every sub. I personally don't care for that, but it is a nice touch for those who may enjoy it. Prices are comparable to other local pizza shops, and service is always friendly, whether we pick up, or do delivery. I'm very happy we have such a great place close by! read more

I have the calzones when I go there just because that's what I prefer over pizza. Everything is so fresh, the bread is so soft but not to soft so it's not soggy. The Roman bites are also very good the bbq is my favorite, crispy and sweet. You won't go wrong choosing this family owned and operated business. read more

In Latham there are not alot of options for Italian food. This place delivers the goods. Things I like. They always have a Sicilian house pie for slices." Yes the corner piece. thank you sir." Meatballs. They aren't salty and have the perfect balance of breading/meat. But then again who likes salty balls. Not I. Pasta dishes. sauce is very consistent and not greasy, and again not heavy on the salt but full of flavor. Perhaps they grew up in a family with high blood pressure. The Bread they use for subs. Soft and chewy Italian bread, same bread they give you with the dinners. Wings are perfectly fried, not as good as ale house but they aspire to be like them. read more

I'm new to the Capital region and have been trying various pizza joints around Latham, Troy, and Albany and have to say Roman Pizza is a must. They have huge delicious thin crust pizza by the slice and for cheap. Great balance of sauce and cheese with crispy crust perfect for a proper fold. I'd recommend a plain slice and a buffalo slice for lunch there any day. read more

Saturday 8/7/2021 I picked up two of the sorriest excuses for pizza one could imagine. The roasted Red pepper/mushroom/sausage large pizza had very little sauce, 2-3 small (and I mean small) bits of sausage and mushroom pieces per each of the 8 slices. The pizza looked anemic with too much cheese and simply was not appetizing. In the past their pizza was very good - that's "was". I have no idea why the decline. I also noted very little business for a Saturday night. My prediction is closure very soon. read more

I live nearly 20 miles away from Roman Pizza and approximately 45 minutes to get there but ya know what? It's worth the time and gas. So I have to reheat the pizza when I get home...big whoop! I'm actually thinking about getting one of those insulted pizza warming bags. So what makes Roman so special? Probably because their pizza isn't like any other pizza in the capital region. It actually has real Italian flavor. Let's start with the sauce...holy heck. I want that recipe. It is life changing. The crust is perfect whether thin or Sicilian. And they don't skimp on cheese. Wings are amaze-balls. Done right. I'm assuming with Franks hot sauce or something close to it. I'm considering moving to Latham just to be closer to Roman Pizza...and Vent to work off all the weight I will put on as a result. read more

When we lived in Albany, this was our go-to pizza and wing place. Their wing sauce is especially amazing, and when I asked for extra saucy wings, they always were. I ordered pizza and wings first time up in Albany. Pizza not like city pizza but for the pizza I've tried in Albany it's quite yummy. I like my crust a little crunchy and to much bread at the bottom. This place is truly an unexpected gem. They boast some of the most reasonable prices for pizza and tasty appetizers (such as the mozzarella sticks and wings) in the Albany area, and they deliver a quality that surprisingly exceeds their economical prowess. For the past three years I have lived within a 10-minute drive from the place, frequently passing it (and often remarking on its outward appearance, as I visited the adjacent used book store), but never giving it more than a moment's quick judgement. This is all too regrettably true, until recently, when caught in a pizza bind, I made the rash decision to try an untested local joint - Roman Pizza. Tried for the first time and it wasn't at all like the reviews boasted...just got a cheese pizza and wings...menu says jumbo...they are tiny...New York style pizza...it was not very thin and extremely doughy...didn't even get blue cheese with the wings. I used to order from Romans alot. Their food is good. I just order a 12 cut one topping pizza, 24 wings and a small order of boneless wings. I cancelled my order. That is a ridiculous price. I will order somewhere else from now on. read more

Yes I enjoy Romas food , I went online to check prices and called an order in. Surprize !!! The order was lasagna dinner for 8.50 I went to pick it up and suddenly its 12.75 Say I ordered from online menu I said . The only response was geee wizz I guess thats an old menu.. The only advice I have is to drive past and find another pizza restaurant. I do not understand the 4 and 5 stars. I am from NYC and this pizza would not survive the test. The dough was just ok, but where is the topping? The sauce was 2 inches short of the end of the slice. And the cheese seems to be a cheap version of mozzarella. Just called this place seeking food allergy information. Spoke to the manager and was treated very rude. He refused to inform me about any ingredients, downright refused. I was told '' I cant be bothered" - '' it would take to long, really lady?" - The best ----- 'any kid who is that allergic shouldn't be eating out anyway!!!" Are you kidding??? In this day and age , food allergies are everywhere, to tell a customer that you can't look or even care is outrageous. Hope you go out of business. If you have a food allergy - DO NOT GO HERE! Best NY style pizza I have found in the Latham area. It was perfectly crispy on the bottom and the sauce is excellent. It may seem a little pricey but given the size of the pizza it is definitely worth a few extra bucks for a much better product than you will find at any of the pizzerias around here. Will be trying the wings and maybe a meatball sub next time. read more

This was the most disappointing waste of money. I's the worst pizza I ever had . I never had a pizza with absolutely NO flavor, none at all. I tried doctoring it up with spices, but the dryness could not absorb the flavors I added. If they used sauce, where was it? My son, who loves pizza could only eat one slice . Today was trash day, so that is where it ended up. I couldn't in good conscious recommend this pizza. read more
