Their first (TERRIBLE) review, JUST KIDDING... these are the SAME PEOPLE WHO OWN(ED) THE ROMANTIX. The first time I went here (romance upland) I felt like I had no privacy what so ever. I decided to give this place a second chance and check out some of the toys they had to offer. The first time My fiance and I were asked "not to "play" with the toys." What the hell, I though these thing were to be played with? Anyways, the second time I hoped would be better. ZERO difference the second time around, actually WORSE! I was in there for about 15 min, right when I walked in they ask if you need help (perfectly fine) the second time it got annoying but I handled it. The third time the girl acted as if she was being "helpful" recommending a product. FINALLY the owner (dumb pushy Asian lady) decided to ask me if I needed help one last time RIGHT after the girl had just bothered me for the third time. Finally (the fourth time) I got so aggravated I had to leave. We then proceed to the Toy Box right down the street for more privacy and people who know their toys. We spent 80 bucks at the toy box while this stupid couple lost their fair share of a sale. Screw this place, it is 5 bucks cheaper, but I will pay that much for a better experience and PRIVACY! They stand as watch as if you are stealing their products. I hope this Asian couple looses this business because the first shop they had before had terrible reviews. And review similar to mine dealing with privacy issues. Good products that may be hard to find especially out here but omg very aggressive service as in wont let you just shop. There is an associate next to you at all times. Let's be real here hunty. I went here with my bf and bff in search of lube because I was running out and didn't want to get sore from my bae. Anyway, we decided to check out this place since it is fairly new as we love supporting local businesses. The outside seemed promising but the second we walked in was the second things began to get strange. Upon walking in the door we were stalled by another set of doors making the ambience prison-like. As we pranced through the second set of doors we were greeted by a friendly worker. The friendly worker guided us to the vast array of lubricants the store had to offer whist informing us which lube was best for our needs. After my questions were answered to their full extent I was left with my man to choose the right lube. As this was happening, my bff decided she was going to take a gander at the fetish room because she has been wanting to become more adventurous with her woman. She found something that caught her eye and decided she wanted to send her woman a picture but was instantly halted by a crude Asian female who was presumably an owner. The lady shouted in cacophony "pictures not allowed!! Delete now!" I was appalled and baffled to how she was treating us as customers. We brushed it off and started browsing more since I noticed that the lube is about $3 more than usual at other adult stores. The store has an extremely wide variety of products which is fantastic, however the owners are extremely rude and make you feel very uncomfortable when they are constantly watching your every move. They make unnecessary comments and say unprofessional remarks on the people that come in the store in their language I will NEVER go back and don't recommend anyone purchase anything from here. I went here because I'm going to my first rave and I wanted to get a cute outfit. I should have walked out when they said they don't allow you to try anything on other than the corsets. Me and my friend spent $70, left to try it on and came back because it didn't work out. They only allow you to get an even exchange so we felt forced to spend $70 in there. I'm starting to become a regular here! I buy mostly rave/gogo dance clothing and I really love the variety they have. Although I am followed throughout the store while shopping, the employees are always very helpful and not too pushy if I say no but I don't mind that they recommend stuff and help me pick out outfits. The store owners are also very nice whenever I come in. The prices are a bit high but the convenience of picking out products and not having to wait for shipping is nice! If you're an open minded and relaxed shopper you will enjoy this store. If you get offended easily or don't want help then you probably won't like it. Hope this helps :) read more

Lots of great variety for outfits and shoes... toys not so much I prefer the toy box down the street. I think the main reason might just be because they hover over you and anything you touch both associates say " Oh my God those are so cute! Those are my favorite!" I noticed this after I picked up a few things and no matter what it was they would say this. So I proceeded to test if they would do this with everything in the store and I purposely picked up some weird feather costume thing that only someone with a poultry fetish would wear and one associate did exactly as I suspected and said "Oh my God that's so cute!" as the other associate gave a look on her face like you're kidding me right?!?! and kind of walked away to pretend she was fixing something.... If the owners and sales associates take the time to listen to the reviews on here they would have a lot more sales and customers. So I decided to pay a visit to Romance, with it being one of my first sex shops I have ever been to. I'd have to start by saying this was the most unpleasant and uncomfortable experience I have yet to find myself in. I half expected the staff in a sex shop like I do any retail environment to be at least a little courteous of one's privacy and space. I was constantly followed by not one but two of the Romance employees. When I asked what I thought to be a general question I was quickly shut down by the very rude Asian man who I believe to own the place. From one manager to another, yes I have operated a business, an illegitimate one just like this one here at that. I would just like to say that this is unacceptable and this shop has nothing but an eerie uncomfortable feel right off the get-go. It'll most definitely be a very long time until I step into any sex shop again, which by the way is forbidden to say.. They made that very clear to me, and I quote "saying sex shop is like walking in a smoke shop and saying bong". Now that, I can understand. However I'd appreciate not being put down by a bunch of negative bitches. I used to come to this place years ago when it was still called Romantix and I liked that much better. It has changed and the changes have ruined the store for me. The good thing is that they have a WIDE variety of Go Go dance wear and lingerie (way more than other local adult and lingerie stores). The good stops there. You are unable to shop in peace. They drill their sales clerks to follow you around like a hawk asking you if you need help literally every 5 minutes (or rambling on with unwanted suggestions and information.) It is annoying because you can't browse in a mellow environment. Management watches you like you are going to steal something and it makes you feel uncomfortable and akward. The prices are a little bit over priced for being in Upland. You can find better prices online. Also they no longer allow you to try costumes or tops on. I can understand not being able to try on underwear but I am not about to spend my money on something that is not returnable that may or may not even fit or look right on me. There are better shops in Hollywood and LA to buy lingerie and Go Go dancewear at with more relaxed management and sales clerks that you can shop in peace at. read more

Okay, so I've purchased a couple different toys here myself and ended up getting let go of my temp job. I noticed they had a "help wanted" sign and figured sense I know enough to work there and was a current customer, why the hell not give it a try? I ended up landing the job and that shit only lasted for 2 days before I quit. Let me start off saying, the owner is incredibly pushy and thinks shes running a sweat shop in there. She tried to belittle me and make me feel dumb when I was in training. One employee would tell me to do this and walk off, then the owner would yell across the store and say I wasn't supposed to be doing that. My job description was to basically stalk the customer and push a sale. I knew I could do way better and ended up landing a way better/higher paying job and did. The owner was not happy I quit, but what is funny is the look she had on her face when I went to pick up my final check you can tell shes had lots of girls quit within those 2 weeks. She even purposely called a possible candidate in front of me when I was waiting for my check from the back telling them to come in due to landing the job-and smiled at me while saying all of this. This owner and her husband need to go out of business, it seemed like a huge joke and the owners don't even get high quality toys, outfits, toys in fetish room, etc. I only make purchases from the fetish room and let me tell you, the first night my boyfriend and I used two different things they didn't break but they came apart and we had to jimmy rig it to make it work. I could go on about how completely shitty this store, service and toys are but I think whoever already shopped there and read these reviews gets the point. Most awkward and scariest experience I've had in a while. I passed by this lingerie store and I thought let me give it a chance. Well it is a store I will probably never come to again. To begin, as I approach the entrance glass door I can see the two sales associates looking at me and waiting for me to come in. I enter and they both welcome me and ask me if I'm looking for something in particular and I tell them "no just looking around". I'm walking around the store looking at the clothes and when I look up, just by chance, I see both of the sales associates starring right at me and following me with there eyes and head wherever I move to in the store. My boyfriend came with me and he was super creeped out. The clothes is super cute but very overpriced. And the sales associates literally did not stop starring the entire 15 minutes we were there. They would literally wait in the middle of the store floor and simply stare at me until I would ask them a question about some of their merchandise. I felt as if the doors from the store were gonna lock me in and I was gonna be forced to buy something or something bad was gonna happen to me. I know dramatic, but it really felt like this.
