I have to update my review based on the quality of the ring that was purchased. I have wanted this ring for as long as I can remember (the original ring that was purchased) but the quality of the ring was absolutely terrible! My husband had to make fotrips on many different occasions because my stones fell out!!!!! I have jewelry from many different places that i wear every single day including my engagement ring with the bands and not one time did the stones fall out!!!!! NOT ONE SINGLE TIME! So I finally got to the point where i said you know what I want to go there and complain. Now, the owner was nice enough to replace the ring (or so I thought) with another ring which I already knew was of lesser quality and here I am again missing three stones in my ring and mind you I do not wear this ring every day. It's actually embarrassing and I refuse to go back there because what's going to happen fix the ring and then have to come back to replace the stones again??? I'm so upset about this it's the second ring and now for a special occasion I'll ask my husband to get me a new ring from elsewhere because I will not go through this again. I have not been engaged for even TWO months and I've been back here FOUR TIMES with loose baguettes and missing stones. I am so upset at the lack of quality and the customer service at this establishment. It's embarrassing that I even have to come back ONE TIME within 3 weeks of being engaged. A small stone fell out a week after getting my baguette tightened a second time. Offered to replace it with no problem. However, when the ring was finished, one of my stones was yellow. She swore up and down that's not the one she replaced and, in fact, replaced it with a larger stone to keep it from falling out again..... why wouldn't you do that to the OTHER SIDE so that side doesn't fall out??? So here I am waiting two hours for a nonsense problem that should have never happened. This is supposed to be the happiest time of our lives but it has been nothing short of stressful *UPDATE 10/26/19* Three weeks after we dropped my ring off to be REMADE, my fiancé went to pick it up today. Ring is good. Not satisfied until I'm sure I will have no more issues with it. HOWEVER, the owner and I guess his wife??? Asked my fiancé to ask me to *update* my negative review I had written. First off, my fiancé had no clue about my review so why are you asking him to ask me??? Why wouldn't you REPLY TO MY NEGATIVE REVIEW? SECOND, how dare you ask someone to update their poor review. Before getting engaged, my husband I did a lot of research about rings and visited many jewelery stores. We already had a beautiful diamond (my husband 's grandmother's stone) and were looking for a setting. We had a really intense "say yes to the jeweler" moment after meeting with John at Romancing the Stones. He has a humongous selection of rings and other jewelery. I showed him rings I liked from Blue Nile and James Allen. John showed us very similar rings and was able to give us a much better price than what we saw online and at other stores. He was also able to customize the setting exactly how I wanted it. I wanted 4 more side stones, a six prong setting, and platinum. John was able to craft a ring exactly to my specifications. I wore the ring for a year and decided that I wanted to have the setting lowered and I wanted the cathedral to be cut and brought into the center. John gave us an amazing price for this alteration. During the alteration process, some dirt got under a few of the diamonds. I didn't really notice this right away, but when I did, John was able to clean it free of charge! My husband and I bought our wedding bands from Romancing the Stones. John was again able to customize my wedding band to my liking. I'm very happy with how my two rings look together on my finger. They sit flush and complement each other really nicely. My husband is thrilled with his titanium ring. We are now lifelong Romancing the Stones customers and will definitely see John and his staff for all of our jewelry needs. John is honest and fair. After narrowing down a few options and making a choice, it was smooth sailing from there. Mary & John worked graciously with my budget and did not let me down at all. They both reassured me on all the final details of the ring and answered every question I had. Now here's the funny part...my fiancés ring size! From day one, Jon told me to just show him a picture of her hands & fingers, and he'd know the size right away and for me to not worry. So on the day of me picking up the ring, I showed him a picture...and he was dead on accurate! The moment I put the ring on my fiancé's finger, it fit perfectly! Just thinking about going to the Jewelry Exchange in Woodbridge is an overwhelming and scary thought. I yelped best jewelry store in JE and Romancing the Stones came in with the best rating. My fiancé and I walked in not knowing the exact location of the counter so we just remained focused; ignored all the "cat-calls" from the other vendors and finally saw RTS at the end of the store and ran over there. We were greeted by a beautiful young lady whose name is Essence. We are older but inexperienced as this was our 1st time looking at engagement rings. She understood us right away. She is a diamond-educated young lady who looks you straight in the eye; and she makes you feel like you can trust her. Very difficult if you have no experience in diamond buying or walking into a place like JE. She spent enough time with us until the decision was confirmed what was picked out for me; assured us that we could walk out with the ring as they size the bands in house. She's very informative and kind. It was a pleasure and I LOVE my .91 GIA cushion cut diamond w/my .44 halo setting. I hope we got the right price as I wouldn't know better but it seemed very fair. She was awesome and so was the whole experience. I can't really comment on the other vendors but I'm glad joe googled RTS and wound up there based on the great ratings! Joanne was wonderful to work with (5 STARS FOR HER) - she was patient, kind, and honest when I shopped for my wedding band. She shared which rings might be uncomfortable (which I appreciated) and kept me in the loop throughout the ordering process: when the ring was ordered, when it was scheduled to arrive, and when it finally arrived. On a separate note, and the reason I'm giving 1 star, I don't recommend working with some of the other reps at this company. Since I live out of state, my mother was kind enough to pick-up our wedding bands and some jewelry I needed repaired. Since Joanne was out that day, she had to work with the blonde lady at the company who was such a MONSTER and extremely RUDE to my mother (as well as my father and 80 year old grandmother) with regards to picking up the order. She has no regard for customer service, her employees, and yelled at my mom saying, "I DON'T MAKE MONEY OFF OF THIS SHIT" (in front of the entire store mind you) when my mom questioned the receipts. I was being charged for something I had ALREADY paid for, but the blonde lady at Romancing the Stones would not have it. She overcharged my mom, screamed at my mom, used curse words at my mom, and even yelled at the kind black lady who worked at the store. All of this over a $30 discrepancy! My mom didn't want to deal with her so just paid the amount, and left so upset. Romancing the Stones lost a TON of money by treating my family this way. I will no longer be a customer, my families will no longer be customers, and my friends will no longer be customers after hearing this story. Romancing the Stones - you should hide that blonde woman from customers if you want to continue staying in business. She needs to learn a lot about treating customers with respect - I'd rather spend more on jewelry then ever have to deal with her again. read more
