At both offices, the staff, technicians, optometrists, and ophthalmologists have all been pleasant, efficient, and very attentive to my needs. The quality of care here, across all areas, is very high. I recently had cataract surgery with Dr Anish Shah, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Dr Shah was very knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. He answered all my questions (including ones I didn't think to ask) and he has a good sense of humor. The surgical coordinator, Stephanie Hyde, was also wonderful to work with.

I figured I could just hold her in my lap or bribe her to sit still with fruit snacks or something. I didn't even have to do that at all! They have a basket of toys in the waiting area and an amazing woman named Mary led my little girl over to it and played with her while I had my eye exam. My daughter is usually pretty shy when she first meets someone but when it came time to leave, she didn't want to go. The exam was quick and thorough and all my questions were answered. Dr. Kish was awesome and made me feel so comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Kish and Optics Unlimited to anyone who has any need for an eye doctor.

The Doctors (Dr Sanborn) is great. Unfortunately, the practice manager is not. They failed to…read moreaccurately submit to the insurance for the 100% covered yearly preventative exam, thus causing a co payment to be needed. Called the insurance company and they said that the office didn't submit the correct coding, called the practice manager back and she said that is 'how they do it'. The practice also has a cool digital retinal mapping instead of dilation, but...the price increases every 2 years - same machine, so unclear of why the price is going up. In the end, the front end of this business has inept staff (their original office manager retired and she was great and I had no issues at all with my insurance being coded correctly). The new staff are arrogant, needless to say, I will be not continuing with care here.

He saw me on the Sunday after my surgery because I lost my vision in that eye. He is still treating it for uveitis 3 years later! If I call with a problem they tell me to come to the office now! Not good. I requested my contact prescription on a Tuesday. They couldn't guarantee I would have it…read morethat day. I was picking it up. I advised them it was essential that I have it, plus they were closed on Wednesday. I picked up the prescription from Thames on Tuesday afternoon. Great, I thought. I looked at it, no signature and the prescription was in the "notes" section. Not even in the area where it should be written. I questioned why NO signature? The optometrist even said, "That should be fine with no signature". I went to my appointment elsewhere to purchase (at a much lower cost than Thames) my contacts. I was told that since NO signature, they could not fill my contact prescription!! I then went in on Thursday.. spoke with the receptionist. She said there was no way she could help, as my doctor was out of the office. Well, what does that have to do we me getting my prescription? Have the other physician sign off on it! We went round and round. Finally, she said she would have Dr Grills sign it. For me to give her my email address, she would email it to me from her home. Then, mail it to me. She said she would definitely do this for me. Friday morning .... nothing. No email. Called Thames Eye Group again. She said she emailed it to me. I never received it. She said she knows she emailed it to me. I told her that was unfortunate, but I needed my prescription today. Not yesterday or next week, today. She said that it couldn't be done. Dr Grills was leaving. I told her it takes 20 seconds!! It's MY prescription! I'm not looking for an exam!! This was RIDICULOUS!!! She swore the email went through to me and maybe i didn't see it, it what she was insinuating? I told her I had a lot of other things to do than to be calling and stopping in to my eye dr!! What in God's name?! We will see what happens this afternoon at 1:00 PM when she told me it would be ready for me to pick up. So... after all this, which could have been resolved the first go around on Tuesday, has led me to write up this review and they've lost not only me as a patient but two others that go there. Absurdity at it's finest! PS - Where I go to get my contacts (Costco), the optometrist there told me they get this ALL the time from Thames. That Thames doesn't understand why the don't sign the prescriptions... perhaps they don't wan their business going to places like Costco? Who knows... all I can think of.

Saw that others on Yelp made comments about the business' phone system and the answer from the Office Manager always seems to be they are switching systems. The reviews are over many years, so not sure what the problem is. Left a message and have not gotten a callback. Tried calling again later in the morning and got the same recording, but when I went to try and leave another message, the system would not let me. It just kept repeating their after hours greeting. They should really look at upgrading their phone system for better customer service contact. No email was listed on the website so cannot do any form of contact unless you go to the business.

After 3 phone calls they finally admitted that the prescription was wrong and they would fax the correct prescription to our new provider. When I got there the doctor didn't even examine just wrote me prescription that he knew would not help problem, and told me to come back in a month. I read up on what was going with me a found another doctor who couldn't understand why it wasn't drained because it was never going to go away on its own and may get worse.
