Over the years, he has performed successful procedures on my shoulder, both legs, wrist, and elbow. Most recently, in the summer of 2025, I underwent a full knee replacement under his care, and the entire experience--from initial consultation to recovery--has been exceptional. What stands out most about Dr. Romano is his conservative and thoughtful approach. When he first noted that I might eventually need a knee replacement, he didn't rush to schedule surgery. Instead, he made the recommendation but gave me the time and space to decide when I was ready. I ultimately waited a year before going through with it, and I'm very glad I did it on my own timeline with his continued support. Pre-operative care was outstanding. His team provides clear, thorough guidance to help patients prepare for surgery, including medical and lab clearances, and a pre-surgery meeting to ensure everything is in order. I had my procedure at Rush Oak Park, which--like Dr. Romano's team--was excellent across the board. Though it was an outpatient surgery, I stayed overnight and received top-notch care throughout. Dr. Romano came to see me in the recovery area shortly after surgery to check in personally, reassure me, and explain how the procedure had gone. What impressed me even more was that he returned the following day--Saturday--to visit me in the hospital. He didn't have to do that; Rush has hospitalists assigned to oversee patient transitions and discharge. But Dr. Romano took the time to come in himself, examine me, and ensure everything was on track. That level of care and commitment is rare and deeply appreciated. He also gave me his personal cell phone number so I could text him directly with any questions or concerns. That kind of accessibility is almost unheard of, and he was genuinely responsive. Of course, his office team is also attentive and available, but knowing I could reach him personally was incredibly reassuring. Follow-up care has been just as thoughtful. At my post-operative visit, a member of his office team carefully checked my scar tissue, explained the next steps in recovery, and extended necessary medications. It's clear that patient well-being and recovery are top priorities for Dr. Romano and his entire staff. In-home physical therapy--arranged through a company they work with--has also been exceptional. The professionals from Interim HealthCare have been friendly, skilled, and focused on results. Even within a single week, I saw marked improvement in my right leg's strength and mobility thanks to their expert guidance. I wholeheartedly give Dr. Romano and his team five stars. Their professionalism, courtesy, thoroughness, and genuine care for patients make them stand out. Most of all, they take the time to listen and answer questions, ensuring you feel fully supported at every stage of your treatment. I recommend Romano Orthopedics without hesitation.

I wanted to take my time before writing this review, but after more than three years since my…read morearthroscopic shoulder surgery with Dr. Nikhil Verma at Rush Orthopedic, I feel compelled to warn others. I was told I'd see improvement within 6 to 16 months. Instead, my condition has steadily worsened. I originally came to Dr. Verma for anterior shoulder pain during heavy pushing exercises. My MRI showed no structural damage--everything looked clean. Still, he recommended exploratory surgery, saying it was common among athletic individuals like me and that he had a 98% success rate. He reassured me that, at worst, I'd be no worse off than before. That trust turned out to be the worst mistake of my life. Despite a failed diagnostic cortisone injection into the biceps tendon (which should have indicated that the biceps was not the pain source), he proceeded with surgery. Post-op, he said he had "found the problem" and performed a biceps tenodesis, debridement, and bone spur shaving. Since then, my pain has become chronic and debilitating, affecting every part of my life. Over the last three years, I've spent more than $100,000 out-of-pocket seeking help from specialists and pain experts across the country. I can no longer sleep properly, run without flare-ups, or maintain my once-active lifestyle. The toll this has taken on my physical and mental health--and my marriage--is beyond words. Four separate orthopedic surgeons have since confirmed that this surgery was unnecessary. I've also met other young, athletic patients who were misled or poorly treated by Dr. Verma and now face long-term damage. After everything, Dr. Verma simply told me he "couldn't help me anymore" and passed me off to other doctors. My final visits were frustrating: long waits, minimal face time, and no accountability. If you're considering surgery with Dr. Verma, I strongly urge you to get multiple opinions and fully explore non-surgical options. Based on my experience, his approach felt rushed, impersonal, and profit-driven. And when things go wrong, there's no ownership. Dr. Verma: the harm you caused has changed my life. I hope whatever money you made from this was worth it.

MIDWEST ORTHOPEDICS AT RUSH AND DR. GREGORY NICHOLSON HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT TO DO ANY IME FOR…read moreANY REASON THEY ARE BIAS AGAINST ANYONE THAT NEEDS AN IME. Beware of Dr. Nicholson and the staff at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush. Dr. Nicholson treats patients like they are below him and will make them wait until he decides to see them. He has absolutely no right doing any IME and he has a bias to anyone that needs an IME which he has proven. I had an IME scheduled on 6/14/2024 with Dr. Nicholson. He entered the room talking 90 miles an hour which I could not understand. This is after waiting past my scheduled time. I told him what time I was told my appointment was and he flew off the handle and slammed my file down on the counter and told me to leave because he was not putting up with my attitude. He then walked out. I walked out into the hallway and asked him for something saying that I was there. He said don't worry it will be in your file well I knew that meant that he would put something false in the file which he did. Then in the hallway I made it clear to him that he is not God since clearly, he thinks he is. Then as I was leaving, he yelled down the hallway you have nowhere to go anyway you're on unemployment. This is just another lie by the doctor since I am not on unemployment. He was trying to embarrass me in front of the staff and other doctors. I then left and contacted some lady named Renee with Midwest Orthopedics at Rush with my complaint about this Doctor. She ran back to the doctor and staff and told them a complaint has been filed and for them to get their story straight which from what I am told by some employees that I know is standard for Midwest Orthopedics at Rush. Dr, Nicholson did contact the insurance company that wanted the IME and did tell them outright lies about what happened. He even made-up things to make himself look good which is impossible since he was not in the room more than 1 minute. This Gregory Nicholson even thinks he gets to determine if someone has an angry face on them or not without ever seeing someone before. Then again, he thinks he gets to determine this because he thinks it makes him look good when actually it shows how he stereotypes people for his own benefit. Do not trust anything you are told by Midwest Orthopedics at Rush and Dr. Nicholson. If anyone is ever sent for an IME at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush, make sure to bring this feedback to your lawyers' attention. Then when I asked to speak to the CEO this Renee person tells me I have no right to speak to the CEO then changes it to the CEO refuses to speak with me. It's clear the CEO condones this culture at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush then again chances are the CEO is a physician that has had numerous complaints in the past also and got them covered up also. If they cover up what doctors do in the office can you imagine what is being covered up in the operating room? DO NOT TRUST THE DOCTORS ESPECIALLY GREGORY NICHOLSON AT MIDWEST ORTHOPEDICS TO BE IMPARTIAL TO ANYONE THAT IS GETTING AN IME HERE.
