Excellent attention from dr and staff! Definitely recommend! Brand new office and equipment.

Romano is absolutely incompetent and negligent. He doesn't deserve the Dr title and is an embarrassment to the medical profession. Because of greedy, negligent, arrogant and unworthy practitioners like him, countless people are dying daily or getting sicker when they could have been saved!!! I don't recommend anyone with periodontal disease to see or trust Romano. He is negligent, inconsiderate and careless to patients' welfare. I started seeing him in late December 2023. I went in with 3 deep pockets that needed immediate attention. The rest of my teeth were fine. All they needed was a deep cleaning, which l requested. He rather dismissed my request and told me carelessly that the state of my teeth was beyond scaling (which he denied when l reminded him of that today). In fact, he was pushing to remove the infected teeth and have me spend around $30k in bone grafts and implants. All he was interested the extractions + implants and neglected the rest of my teeth that were healthy but needed just a deep cleaning. Unfortunately l kept coming during the course of 9 months for unnecessary regular teeth cleanings when in fact l needed a scaling! Guess what? My pockets got bigger and my teeth that were healthy started deteriorating because the superficial cleanings were not going deep enough to remove the tartar build up. I had to probe and insist in August 2023 for him to reevaluate my teeth and confirm that l needed indeed a scaling. 9 months later!!! During the scaling scheduled today, l asked questions to understand why he'd dismissed my requests for scaling all along and if my unaffected teeth that are now worsening could have been saved had we done the scaling earlier. He was unwilling to communicate. Kept cutting me off, was very rude and defensive and would not answer my questions . His behavior was totally unprofessional and portrayed lack of responsibility and accountability. When he felt cornered by my questions his answer was that he is not the only periodontist in town and refused to perform the scheduled scaling. All of this because l asked questions about the decisions he made concerning my oral health! It was impossible to communicate objectively and professionally with this man who behaved in a totally irresponsible and rude way. He is after your pockets and not concerned about your welfare!!! Please think twice before trusting him with your teeth. What a shame and disgrace to the medical profession!!!! read more

Dr Romano has been my dentist for over 10 yrs. He is thorough, bilingual and patient and makes me feel at peace since I am very nervous. Add to things I thought I would never say: I just had a pleasant time at the Periodontist Office. It was a last minute situation on a a Friday no less. They took me in resolved the situation quickly and efficiently. Wow. The office is small but very clean and the personalized service and attention is outstanding . The art work is beautiful. The place most people hate and probably one of the types of doctor that has cause the most trauma in many of us. It's hard to find a cozy and welcoming dentist office where you feel at home. I highly recommend this one to all. Starting from the structure of the building you feel at home. In South Miami with a lot of Palm trees around it and structured like a two story home. Parking is in the back and there's always plenty. The office itself is modern but makes you feel at ease. White couches, iPads to look at the procedures and a flat scree projecting the Mission Statement of the doctor. The staff is great, welcoming and sincere. I accompanied my wife during her visit, the doctor greeted me as if he knew me from before and said my princess will be out soon. The assistant was also very cordial and educated. They make the patients feel at ease by creating a home environment with tunes playing in the background to calm down the nerves we all experience. read more

I had to have oral surgery to have a molar removed. Everything was well planned and they were ready for me at the set time of my appointment. OK, seriously, If you are in need of periodontal care, Stop looking and get an appointment with Dr Romano!!! Absolutely the best care I have ever received. Bar none. The office staff are amazing, they get that no one wants to be there, they are professional, kind, caring and they know what they are doing. The technicians are equally as professional, they are right on the mark with their skills and are in total sync with Dr Romano. The entire team is seamless. Let me elaborate: Lin was flexible with appointment scheduling and took her time to explain my insurance coverage. She explained the breakdown of my treatment plan and made certain that I obtained the required insurance referral paperwork from my primary care dentist. She was very pleasant, caring and welcoming all throughout and never sounded rushed or indifferent. Jacqueline was the surgical assistant who took me in for the diagnostic preps. Unlike other practices, she took her time to explain what she was doing and why. I did not feel rushed and I learned from her a couple of new dental hygiene techniques which I found to be very helpful. Her manner was gentle and reassuring but also attentive to every detail. Dr. Romano is without doubt a great dentist deserving every bit of respect for his profession. Not only is he a practicing specialist, he also has research experience with the late Dr. Sigmund Socransky who is a pioneer in dental microbiology. His involvement with dental research clearly shows a deep love for his profession. Qualifications aside, Dr. Romano has an excellent bedside manner. One of the most outstanding dentists I've been to. His office staff is wonderful. It's a small office so the service you receive is very personalized. They have modern check-in and appointment scheduling conveniences and email reminders. One click on your smart phone to confirm your appointments. I had to have an implant done and the day of the implant I took the day off thinking I'd look like a chipmunk afterward. Nope, I'm not kidding when I tell you that after the implant, I took 800mg of Advil from my purse (since I hadn't picked up my Rx yet) anticipating pain, etc, and I only had a slight ache and by then the Advil kicked in and I was pain free. I could have easily gone back to work and finished the entire day, no problem. I had no swelling, nothing. For precautionary sake, I took one 800mg Ibuprofen (Rx) every 8-10 hours but by day two, I stopped all together. I had only a minimal swelling the next morning (and I mean minimal) which only occurred because I slept on the side of the dental implant. Otherwise, my whole experience with this office was amazing. Dr. Romano is excellent, no waiting time, if your appt. Is for 2 pm, you will go in at 2 pm. Unfurtunately during my 3rd visit for a regular cleaning, I did not see the doctor, a lady who I assumed is a dental hygienist, tried to numb my mouth before starting the cleaning, which I declined, within 5 seconds she hurt me badly, so I stopped her and walked away. No one ever contacted me. I am no longer a patient. I pay to see a dentist, not a person who is not qualified. read more

I have had a fear of the dentist my entire life; my experiences with dentist have not been pleasant ones, I could say they have been horrid. I am presently working with a great dentist and while I am very happy with her, she advised that I needed two extractions which then needed dental transplants. I was horrified when she told me; since she does not do transplants, I had to go to a periodontitis to have this completed. I went to three different periodontitis for their opinions, each one was very nice, a few of them wanted to do more than the transplants, placing more fear in me, by not addressing the problem I went for and adding more to their to-do list, thus increasing the dental cost to a much higher price. It wasn't until I met Dr RomanoPerio & Associates. When I realized he truly liked what he did and was patient and understanding to my concerns. I have lived in MIA in for 28 years and alongside my dentist, Dr Romano is the most honest and caring dentist I have met in MIA. I had three implants done by Dr Romano and a sinus lift. I have a real dental phobia, so this was major for me! Let me elaborate. On my first visit I was so nervous. I parked and was contemplating on turning around and going home, but i did not. I had to face my fears! I walked into Dr Romano's office and immediately noticed how beautiful and clean it was! I was greeted by Lin at reception. Now as you all know the first 5 seconds of a greet from a person tells you how good the outcome will be. So with Lin my stress level dropped to almost zero! She was so nice! I was in the waiting area and it was so modern, sleek and clean. When i was called in to get my implant i was a little nervous and Dr Romano walked in and his soft voice was so comforting. And his assistant Angelica as well. The surgical area was like a clean room. Everything was wrapped and sterile. That in itself was major to me.
