I've been back to this location a few times since my first review, and they can be hit or miss. There was a pretty big miss from them when we went for my birthday dinner, and I ended up emailing their corporate feedback because it went so poorly. I really want this location to thrive, but poor visits aren't going to make that happen, so I wanted corporate to know there were some serious training opportunites here. We were given a credit to come back, and the return visit was much better, but still had some small hiccups. I would rate them 3.5 stars, but I always round up. I hope that they can make some improvements so they can stay open, but we'll just have to see. read more

Ordered takeout and missing two items, including the toasted ravioli we really wanted to try. Also the picture of food was taken after eating a couple pieces, the portions are a little bigger than the photo. The spinach and artichoke dip was just okay, but the bread they serve it with is pretty good. The fried mac and cheese bites are served with alfredo and were okay, dipped in the sauce they are good. The mozzarella sticks are served with marinara, they don't have a lot of cheese in them as you can see in the picture but they are still good and nice and crispy on the outside. After a long day of work on a Saturday, I decided to treat myself to a nice lunch. Or, what I thought would be a nice lunch. With it being Saturday, and midday, I was hoping the wait was not too bad with the shopping crowd being so close. I pulled into the parking lot and there were not many cars. Seems to be the norm for this location for some reason. I think the restaurant is already at a disadvantage with it being in a hidden nook inside the Forum. Anyhow, I parked and strolled in. Looking inside, the place looks almost dead. Only two other tables are seated. This was looking good so far. Should be a quick in and out lunch. After a long wait, I was greeted by a waiter and asked how many. One please. The waiter and I walked to my table, and this fella was going on about buying a house, and mumbling some weird things. Uh. Ok fella, I'll take my seat please. Remember the old 80's sitcom "Perfect Strangers?" If Balki Bartokomous has a doppelgänger, it is this guy. For some good time fun, I will refer to this fella as Balki. Balki walked off, and I looked at the menu. After another long wait, Balki came back and told me that he would be my waiter. He seemed overly excited about it. Ok, cool. Should be good service with no one in here. I ordered an ice tea. He came back with my drink and asked about an appetizer, to which I declined but asked for the complimentary blob of bread. He looked at me puzzled, but eventually figured it out. He went and got the bread blob, but no oil that goes with it. Hmmmm.. Ok. My order was a simple one. Angel hair pasta with the bolognese sauce, no added toppings. Balki looked at me puzzled and said "I will see if they can make that." Well, Balki, considering I am at an Italian restaurant, I do not see why they could not. But, ok, Balki. Time for the wait... I sat at that table for what seemed like an eternity. I was able to shamefully eat the whole bread blob by myself. One other table hand managed to come, order, eat, and leave while I still waited on my food. My drink stayed empty most of the time I waited. Balki was spending more time at the bar area, than waiting on tables. Balki reappeared. To which he inquired "are you military?" I informed him I was not, to which his response was "tell me you are, I don't care." I insisted I was not, and saying anything else would be fraud. He responded, "well, you are getting the discount, because this wait is ridiculous." Ok, Balki..... After another eternity, my food arrived. Balki dropped my plate and was off again. No offer of the yummy shredded cheese over my entree. Not waiting to wait, and starving at this point, I just ate it. It was to be expected, and was good. After finishing my meal, Balki returned and dropped the check. He attempted to make some awkward small talk while I reviewed my check. The meal was $27, and reflected no tip. So, I guess he forgot and the discount was not on there. I guess this is good because now I do not have that on my conscience, but do not promise a discount, then forget. I paid, and was happily out the door as fast as I could. Not really sure how this place stays open, and it will be a very long time, if at all, if I return. Balki needs to find another line of work as well. You can be the judge of this one, but I do not recommend this place merely on my experiences of continuous bad service here. I have been wanting some Italian food. My husband and I happen to be in the area and stopped in at Macaroni grill. We were greeting promptly, and seated. It wasn't busy so I thought we get fast service. Our server was nice and attentive. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip to start with. So, my complaint with this is they either need to cut down on the dip or serve more bread with the portion. We did feel like it was a bit on the soupy side. We had almost more than half of the dip left over with nothing to eat it with, unless we ate it straight out. We didn't wish to do that. The macaroni truffle was great! Very filling. The mushroom ravioli was delicious. So, I think this place needs a good dust. The blinds were dusty and even the lights. At one point I was thinking if a good amount of air blows then the dust would end up in my food. Also, when we walked in there was strong musty odor. My husband said it smelled weird but didn't know if it was the fish smell or wet smell almost like mildew. Food is what I remember but the restaurant itself needs a good cleaning. read more

I arrived at noon on a Saturday to meet 2 girlfriends for lunch. Surprisingly, we were seated right away as the place was quite sparse, except for a large group that also arrived at same time with us. Our waitress came to take our drink orders, and I requested a spicy cucumber martini, which couldn't be done, so I opted for the lemon drop martini (on the menu). However, when it arrived, it was a martini glass served maybe 1/2 full and upon my 1st sip, it appeared to be just a shot of vodka w/a lemon peel curl tossed inside??? Typically a lemon drop martini is a combination of vodka, triple sec, lemon juice, & simple syrup shaken over ice & strained into a sugar rimmed martini glass! This should've been our 1st hint that we should've gone elsewhere. When a chain restaurant with a full bar is unable to make your 1st option for a drink and your 2nd choice comes back served as a shot of booze in a martini glass, RUN FOR THE HILLS as it's only going to get worse from there, and it did!! I think our server was new as she had to look up most of the items on the handheld computer she typed the orders into, except for the ones she had tried and was familiar with (Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, Chicken Marsala and Shrimp Portofino). We had to ask more than once for butter rather than the olive oil concoction that's served with their bread, and I mean literally flag down the waitress as she now had a new table and was glued by their side. When the food arrived, everything was luke warm & my shrimp were way overcooked, plus they ranged in size from small to medium to large...which explains why they were overcooked. I was going to send it back, but our time was limited and it took quite a while to get our order so I let the girls talk me out of it, but there was no excuse for the orders to be luke warm as the place was all but empty except for probably the party of ten in the left side alcove and maybe 3-5 other tables/booths! When I say it was slow, it was really slow and there was no excuse for that and furthermore not even an apology for amount of time it took to get our order. The waitress did come by another time; however, it was not to check on us, but rather to tantalize everyone with a platter of all desserts! Reluctantly, 1 tiramisu was ordered to eat there and 1 chocolate heath bar cake was ordered to go as well as, a few to go boxes for the food. Hence whereas another huge issue was encountered, after all food was boxed up to go, and the tiramisu was brought over along with the to go order, we had to stack up the plates in order for my girlfriend to eat her dessert! The food has taken a drastic downturn from the last time I visited this restaurant. That was several years ago but I was invited by some friends. They were out of regular spaghetti so I chose rigatoni. When I received my order they had given me angel hair pasta. The Italian sausage was dry and there was very little sauce. A member of our party did not receive one of the ingredients that should have been on the dish she ordered. We were half way through our meals before our waiter returned. About 10 minutes later they brought the missing ingredient. They could reduce the size of the restaurant in half according to the number of guests that were there. I have a feeling that they lost a lot of business during Covid and have never recovered. Before Covid they were a 4 1/2 star restaurant. Now only a 2 star. read more

We rolled in on a blustery day in the late afternoon, and we walked in and it was so warm and welcoming. Classic Italian decor with an open kitchen, to watch the magic happen. Our server Fisher took great care of us. I thoroughly enjoyed my Ceasar salad with grilled chicken, the crispy Brussel sprouts were great. There were just crumbs left for the kids pizza and chicken tenders. The fries had a great seasoning. The hubs got 2 good meals of his mama's trio that he enjoyed. Enjoyed a quiet and cozy family dinner. We went on a weekday and were able to be seated right away. Our waitress was polite and chill. The food was hot when served but it did take a while for our meals even with appetizers. The portion size for the alfredo is large and ended up taking a to-go box. They have a bar to sit at, booths, and tables. There is a fireplace in the back that they fire up when the weather cools. If you dine in on a Friday or weekend it will be crowded and there is a long wait. They do not take reservations these days. read more

UPDATE: Went here this afternoon for a birthday lunch with my mom, she chose. I was pleasantly surprised. The warm inviting environment and friendly staff were great but the food was were the real improvement was. I order the same thing I always used to get and this time it was hearty and flavorful. The service was slow: I ordered online at 8:30 am to pick up at 12:45. When I got to the restaurant, the parking lot was empty, so I figured my food would be ready. I walked into the restaurant at 12:43 and did not receive my food until 1:16. The food was subpar: I was so disappointed that the noodles in garlic butter sauce was inedible. The garlic and mushrooms were burned black and the sauce was horrible. The fried cheese was hard and cold in the middle. No one comes here (or should come here) looking for anything "authentic" or handmade, but it's a level up from Olive Garden. The menu is pretty diverse and the food isn't terrible, though for the price point you're better off going to Piatti or somewhere nicer. You've got your usual options of Italian basics and then a few other unique dishes that add flavor and flare. The aioli with the calamari is tasty, and the rosemary bread served to the table is delicious. The pastas are straight forward - nothing mind blowing. Service isn't fair to judge since it's obvious they are understaffed. Our food for our table of 7 came out at different temperatures - the mushroom raviolis were scorching like they had spent way too much time underneath the heat lamp, whereas the chicken Marsala and seafood raviolis were room temp/not nearly hot enough. Had dinner reservations on a Sunday evening for 4. Their was maybe 4-5 tables that had customers eating while the rest of the restaurant was available for occupancy and clean. I really do like the side room that had a display of bottles of wine and a fireplace. Great option if wanting to plan a Sunday date night. Our server was very friendly and I got the feeling he really wanted our evening to be enjoyable. He may have forgotten a couple things from our first request but he did succeed in making our evening pleasant and you get the same vibe from the other workers at this establishment too. Chicken Parmesan was great. Don't let the picture fool you as that is only the half portion. Chicken was juicy and the crusted toppings were fresh. They did not have all the ingredients to make the Old Fashioned on the menu that evening but the Rose wine was a good alternative. Better than average Italian food so expect a little higher in price compared to other Italian Restaurant franchises but overall I recommend this location for a nice evening with your significant other or small group of friends read more

We saw the happy hour listed on the table and asked what items were on it, we were told you have to sit at the bar to receive happy hour specials rudely. Don't advertise happy hour at every table when you don't in fact offer happy hour to the individuals sitting at the table, it's for individuals who want to eat and have drinks at the bar. I had to almost finish my husbands as well because mine was already dry. Food was a 4/5 which increased our review a bit. Service was definitely minimal. Michelle, a manager and general manger has become a fixture in our life and we love her. We have known many of the staff that have moved on and we miss them as they have all been special to us. Visited this location last evening with my wife and was very disappointed with the quality of our meal. I worked at the original Macaroni Grill in Leon Springs and know how Scallopini de Pollo is prepared and tastes. This locations version was far off from that. Our friend ordered a steak and was asked to cut into it which informed the pleasant waitress that it was a touch over cooked and she quickly removed the entree and delivered him a redo, which was very kind of them. While his food cooked we were able to eat our food and was not checked back on by our waitress to inquire how our food was. Mine and my wife's chicken seemed extremely dry and the flavor was just "off". I stopped eating after a few bites of the chicken and when she did come back to check on us I mentioned it seemed our chicken was over cooked and simply asked for a to-go box. No offer to redo by their staff, just a humble apology was all we were extended for this mistake. Just felt like our experience at this location was not what I expected. Went with the family for my mother's birthday dinner. Service was good even though the server kept telling us it was her first night. Dinner started out good with the ordering and bread. Didn't take a downward spiral till the plates started coming out. We were a party of 7, and only 4 dishes came out first, and all four were cold/ room temperature like they had been sitting awhile. Usually don't complain but for what we were paying food should be hot. Sent all 4 back to be remade. As those 4 were being remade, two more dishes come out, and at least these were hot. Waited 10-15 minutes for the remade ones to come back out this time hot, for they had covered them with lids. Now we just needed to wait for 1 more plate of fettuccine with shrimp that was taken from the start, and we still waited anither 15-20 minutes after all the remade food was remade and delivered. So, it's almost an 45 min. - hour wait. No manager on the floor checking tables and the restaurant had maybe 4 groups/couples inside so it was fairly dead. The whole time the server was apologizing explaining again that that night was her first night. So $240 later we ended up taking all our food pretty much to go and leaving. I was in the mood for pasta and remembered that we have a Macaroni Grill here. I haven't been to a MG in over 15 years so I was very excited to stop in. We were seated pretty quickly right next to the kitchen, which I always appreciate an open kitchen concept. Several minutes past before we were greeted so we had plenty of time to decide what we wanted on the menu once we were approached. I originally ordered the build your own pasta with the roasted garlic cream sauce, penne pasta, roasted mushrooms, roasted garlic, and sun-dried tomatoes. My partner ordered the Pasta Milano, which is almost exactly the same as what I created, except it comes with fresh mushrooms and no extra garlic. I opted for the unlimited salad and he got the unlimited soup which he opted for the lobster bisque. My salad was delicious and all of the vegetables were very fresh. He ended up sending back the lobster, bisque and opted for a salad, which was also very good. Their fresh table bread is delicious paired with seasoned olive oil. Once our entrées arrived, I unfortunately found my dish to be very unappetizing. I'm not sure if it was the roasted mushrooms or the sauce, but I couldn't eat it. I ended up sending mine back and so did my partner. We ended up getting a very plain and standard Alfredo with penne. It was better than our first dish but very basic. It wasn't worth snapping a picture of. Service was EXTREMELY slow, the restaurant was very loud, and we could clearly hear the staff complaining about various issues. I don't appreciate that in a restaurant setting. They were very understaffed as everyone in the restaurant was in the weeds the entire time we were there and the restaurant wasn't even half full. The restrooms were surprisingly clean for how busy the staff was so I'll give points for that. If I ever go back, I'll be asking for the back room where they have the fireplace because the ambience back there seemed very nice. I won't be running back anytime soon though. read more

Just not what it used to be. Unfortunately Im hearing this from a lot of folks I know. Gone are the days when they bring the wine out to your table and proudly serve their house red. The bread is not as fresh and tasty and the service unfortunately is lacking. The last two times I was there, the servers seemed to have no zest for being there. Ordered food online for pickup at 7:14. Food was do be ready for pickup at 7:36. When we arrive there at 7:36 there were no spots available for the curbside so my husband had to go into the restaurant. He waited for over 30 mins past our pick up time for the food. Apparently the food was on the counter for 15 mins before someone even noticed it was our order. Food was already cold. When we got home one of the salads was only half full and had the incorrect dressing. One of the pasta entrees, the pasta was undercooked. So not worth the money that the food costs. Disappointed to say the least and a waste of our evening waiting for the food. read more

My wife and I had our Christmas dinner here (Dec 2021). Both of our meals were excellent and the service was top notch. She had the Salmon and I had Shrimp Scallopini. The food was hot and delicious with the seafood moist and perfectly spiced and the pasta just right. We can't say enough about how thankful we were to find a place that was willing to be open on Christmas - of course, we made sure to double our normal 20% tip.
