Worst experience ever! Had a gift card so ordered on line for birthday celebration. When my partner arrived to pick it up they had no record of the order?! I was able to send him screenshots of the order confirmation, and the bank account transactions showing the amount debited from my debit card I used to pay what wasn't covered by gift card. Manager had no explanation. Order had to be started over. Partner waited at bar while order was cooked. Restaurant was empty btw. When order was ready and partner was leaving he spoke with the manager again. Manager never offered to comp anything, not even the one bottle of beer he drank while waiting for and order that was already 30 mins late. Partner suggested to manager that it would have improved the general impression of the establishment if the manager had offered to comp something, the manager just cocked his head and looked confused. I've worked in the restaurant industry and comping a beer, a dessert, or a side dish is totally worth it to have a customer go away happy. We're now avowed unhappy Macaroni Grill customers. Won't ever be back. We used to go to Macaroni's YEARS ago and they were great. What a disappointment to know the bad press they've had in the last few years is all true. Sad to see a once vibrant restaurant dying. RIP Macaroni Grill. Update: The nausea started about 2 hours after eating the meal. Vomiting shortly after that. I can't say I'm 100% sure it was the food, my partner was fine and we shared at least some of the items. 36 hours later I'm fine. I guess the servers are too busy there and they're making profits to where customer service and feeding people isn't necessary during this time. My boyfriend and I came in to Romano's for a quick lunch. We wanted a simple lunch and figured this would be the perfect spot to get fool proof delicious food. This was my first time at Romano's. I decided to order the tomato basil soup with the appetizer combo option. You get to order two apps from their menu for a price of $10. It's definitely a really great deal. If you happen to get an entree instead, you can add unlimited soup or salad for $2! When you first get sat you are met with a pretty large focaccia loaf. It's super delicious and soft. You'll want another serving of it. Lol I definitely recommend trying out Romano's if you're in the mood for a good meal. It won't disappoint! :) read more

My wife and I had our Christmas dinner here (Dec 2021). Both of our meals were excellent and the service was top notch. She had the Salmon and I had Shrimp Scallopini. The food was hot and delicious with the seafood moist and perfectly spiced and the pasta just right. We can't say enough about how thankful we were to find a place that was willing to be open on Christmas - of course, we made sure to double our normal 20% tip. Just got home from attempting to brave "valentines dinner" with a toddler and a one year old. we decided to make 5 pm reservations to beat the "crowd" and have a quick little celebration. we waited over an hour and a half for our dinner, saw people come and go for the manager to come over and tell us they forgot to place our order. the most stressful dinner for two parents trying to entertain our kids and still attempt to enjoy a Vday dinner. we had the worst experience, ended up asking for them to pack our dinner to go. Horrible place... so we went here and the place was empty. Our food took over an hour to get to us. We asked multiple times for our 6 yrs old food to come out ASAP. We were told the kitchen was busy and it would come out with our food. After waiting for over an hour for our food we asked when will it be out. I'll start by saying that Leah, our server, was AMAZING! As was the lady that showed us to our table. Once inside we noticed that there was no heat in the restaurant, eating dinner with your heavy coat on is not very comfortable. Although they said the heater had just been fixed, it never warmed up. Really enjoyed the wine, the appetizers and the salad...and the rosemary bread! As for the entrees, they were hit or miss. The chicken in the Fettuccine Alfredo was like chicken jerky, overcooked, hard to cut, harder to chew. Noodles were dry. The ravioli was also overcooked, hard to chew. The tomato soup was delicious as I previously mentioned, so were the salads. Great place to go for wine and appetizers, not sure I'll go back for dinner. Not at those prices! read more

RomMac is back! Okay, it's been awhile since we had eaten food from here because of several factors. 1. We moved away from the area so its a chore to drive all the way over from Castle Hills area. 2. The outbreak did hamper and hinder and make us think twice about eating out or even ordering to go. 3. We had several bad experiences with our food at this location, now the only location in SATX, that basically made it really easy not to eat or order food from here. We were really hungry last night after a long and hard working week and all the typical food didn't appeal and suddenly I remembered how much we loved building our own pasta dishes and specifically the ingredients and combinations we really loved. Then we remembered why we stopped but by then I had brought up the menu and we were looking at the pictures and we started drooling, literally and figuratively but mostly for real. So we ordered online exactly what we wanted like we had in the past. My wife reminded me how bad our last experience had been, won't go into details suffice to say we had really bad service and food several times in a row and we got fed up and moving away made it really easy to not give them our business. My wife and I were sad at first because when we lived in the area we frequented the RomMac (my name for them) almost weekly. When we started noticing a negative shift in quality it became whenever we really had a hankering for that pasta dishes. Okay so we ordered online, my wife picked up and she got home very happy, she said staff very friendly and greeted her as soon as she walked in the door and it was busy. We dug in and talk about nostalgia. Our pasta was cooked great , we both had capellini pasta, roasted garlic and that's were we both differ on sauce and protein. Suffice it to say we were very satisfied, felt stuffed and we still had left overs for tomorrow to heat up for lunch. RomMac is back! Came here for lunch! Because it being crazy cold, I felt like I was literally sitting in a freezer! Overall great experience, our server made sure we were taken off! We started with the roasted Brussels spouts, which as you can see from the picture they where a little too toastedI had the half sandwich and lobster bisque which both were delicious! Our order was placed on line directly with Macaroni Grill through their website. The order was delivered approximately 20 mins early - which was not an issue. Whilst unpacking the order, I realized that one item was missing. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager on duty, I think his name was Tyler. He quickly verified our order and was most apologetic about the error. He mentioned that there were four items missing and I reassured him that it was only one missing. He promised to bring the missing item to us as soon as another supervisor arrived. Less than 30 minutes later, he was at our door with the missing items and two other side dishes that the chef made for our order in error. The worst service!! It took us over an hour to get cold food!! They re-fired my steak and brought out a porterhouse that their chef "accidentally" cooked. Cool. I'll take a bigger steak. The rest of my food was cold but at this point, I just wanted to eat. My boyfriends food was also cold and they gave him a new lasagna. Still not good but we didn't want to complain. Mind you, they never came to clear the table. Once our ticket came out, we asked to speak with a manager. She came over and spoke to us like we didn't want to pay. Went there with my son on a slow night. First we sat there for almost 20 minutes before anyone came over. Once we ordered it took almost an hour to get our food. Fun, standard, and slightly pricey. This place provides a good Italian ambience for restaurant decor and vibes, but more importantly - they have the food to match. While it may not be completely authentic Italian cuisine, it doesn't try to. Good food, and your standard dishes you'd expect to find (typical spaghetti dishes and Italian soups). One of the downsides I will say is that their oil they provide with the butter that is "made" at your table is really bad. Keep expectations realistic and you won't be disappointed with this place. read more

We used to be regulars before COVID and this place has lost everything. The table bread was terribly dry. The steak and lasagna were Luke warm. The spaghetti and chicken marinara were mediocre - very little sauce and no presentation. I've been to this restaurant a few times. Since Covid their not such a pleasant restaurant. Service sucked at my last visit. I was ignored for the first 15-20 minutes after being seated. I placed an online order for the feast for 5. My order was not done at the time given. It took an extra 20 minutes, which was extremely frustrating. The problem was when I arrived at the restaurant the staff informed me ONLY their manager could make the rosemary bread that is suppose to be included in my order. They told me I would have to wait at least 30 mins for the Manager to come back and then for the bread to be made. I also was told that the bread was complimentary so they would not substitute it for anything else. My order does not show the bread as complimentary. It shows a salad, the entree picked, and 2 loads of bread. I think which made it worse was The customer service received was terrible. They did not care they were not delivering what I ordered. We never eat here, but wanted to try something different. But then I found out another Manager named Theresa was at the restaurant and she did not even come to speak to about the problems with my order. Instead she sat there and showed off an item she had just bought from amazon to the staff. I found out from the staff member that this manager was aware of my concerns. This was completely unprofessional she did not come to address my concerns but instead chatted with staff over her new purchase. With all the other restaurants to chose from, I will not be returning here again especially during this pandemic. I am grateful for the consistency in service by friendly the attentive waitstaff at this location, and for doing chicken Marsala the right way. Macaroni Grill is definitely a solid performer in my book. We have been going there for *almost* ten years and the food quality is consistently good and so is the service. This is gonna' sound bad but it's not supposed to: When you can't get in to any other restaurant in The Forum, you can get into Macaroni Grill! This is NOT a reflection on the quality or service provide - do NOT let it fool you! My favorite dish is the chicken cannelloni, followed by the next day's left overs of penne rustica (with sun dried tomatoes added - thanks to the wifey). :) One caveat - it's a *tad* on the loud side because of the concrete floors and the wide open atmosphere. read more
