This was our second time here and I'm so glad we came. The first time, the pizza was overcooked or something- the cheese wasn't the melty, stringy gloriousness you want from a pizza. This time, though, was so much better!! We had cheese rolls as an appetizer- fantastic. Garlicky pizza dough bites filled with ooey gooey mozzarella and served with pizza sauce. The sauce isn't as flavorful as I'd like but good enough! We got the hand tossed pizza dough, instead of thin crust and I loved it. The toppings (beef and pepperoni) were fantastic and the cheese was stringy just as it should be! Atmosphere is wonderful and service is friendly. read more

I love Romano's! I ate there tonight with my parents for dinner. They were packed because of a large party (usually there is plenty of seating when I come). Despite being loud and packed, our server did a great job attending our table and refilling our drinks/taking our order in a timely manner. The food tasted great like always. Today my husband and I visited this amazing place in Van Alstyne,Texas. The service was great in that we were not overly attended (servers often do this in smaller areas). The food was quickly delivered and I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. Of course, even good service, it is about the food,which was so fresh I felt as I were eating "healthy". We ordered the chicken bacon ranch sub, a gyro and small cheese pizza. Each of us tasted all 3 plates and were very impressed. Clean, relaxing and delicious! read more

Omgosh this pie was so good i loved there meat pizza it had just the right amount of sauce

I was visiting town look at property in the area. Not too many choices for lunch on Monday because the other BBQ place is closed. I did not want pizza for lunch but it was the only place open. I was surprised to find a lot of other choices on the menu and I had an excellent chicken sandwich. I am not in Van Alstyne often but I would certainly come back here. If the service were better, I would give this place a much better review. Every time we have called in an order or gone into the restaurant there has been an issue with our food. They are willing and quick to fix the issue but it seems more of a regular thing than a mishap. The quality, taste and price of the food is excellent. If their service was faster and more accurate I could easily say 4 1/2 or 5 stars. The atmosphere is great and the old building that they are in brings you back to "easier" times and gives you a nostalgic feel. read more

We drove from Fort Worth to come to Anna, TX for a Destination Imagination State Finals competition. At lunch, 1000 other people got the same idea. So, we drove to Van Alstyne and found Romano's. 5 Kids got a giant Bacon and Cheese, the wife and I got a medium Hawaiian, friend got a meat sub. The food here is just /fine/. The salad bar is sad, the cheese is usually not melted in the calzone, the cheesecake comes to you still frozen. My issue is that there are always a ton of teenagers working at any given time and none of them seem to care about customer service in the least. The last few times I've walked in the door there have been 3-5 employees in the front dining area and nobody even bothered to look up, much less greet me. The last time I visited they were blatantly and loudly griping about another customer right in front of me. As someone who works in customer service and routinely hires younger people for entry level jobs, I am not impressed with the employees. Updated to add I visited again and this time my order was completely wrong. There was no way for them to assist me without me having to drive back up there. No store credit option if one of their rotating crew of teenagers messes up your order. Just save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

I came in here for the first to eat since didn't see that many choices of place to eat in this town while was passing though and thought might try there buffet at lunch time. So asked about getting some pasta that they had on the buffet the girl said that we only make it one time a day when it's out it is out and then didn't have that many choices to offer far as pizza wise and then girl took my drink order once and never refilled my glass end up having to do it myself. Then never took the old plates away there were plates left on other tables that were never cleaned also food left on the floor. I'm glad that was passing though will go back there again. read more

Tonight I just remembered why I avoid this place. We asked the owner for something, he then proceeds to tell us the reason why we couldn't have what we asked for like we were idiots. He has a horrible attitude and is just plain out rude. I will never go back because of the owner. Normally we order pizza here and it is pretty good. Tonight I wasn't feeling like Pizza and ordered the Hot Hamilton and Cheese Sandwich. The sandwich says it comes with ham, cheese, lettuce tomatoes and dressing. Prior to receiving the sandwich, the waitress asks me what kind of dressing I want on the sandwich, which I thought was odd, but ok. Then I get the sandwich and literally have assemble the sandwich which has 4 very small, very thin pieces of ham. So, I get this sandwich and a bag of chips for $6.
