I've lived here for over 3 years and I'm just now discovering Roma's. And thank God because I'd be 500lbs if I found it any sooner! We tried it last Sunday and had it 2 more times afterwards, that's how good it is...yes 3x in less than a week! I feel like I was eating my Mom's delicious Italian cooking that she made when I was growing up! We have tried so much including the garlic knots which are amazing, chicken tenders (seriously the best we've ever had) the spaghetti and meatballs (so delicious and both taste like my Mom's) the fettuccine Alfredo, cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza and the Detroit pizza w/sausage and ricotta which was one of the best Detroit's we ever had!! The portions are so huge so we got kids meals for the pasta dishes. We also had the Zeppoles with chocolate sauce and they're delicious and they give you enough to feed probably 20 people lol!! The service and servers are both amazing!! We had Stacy twice, Dora once and the manger Michelle constantly pitches in and helps all the servers as well. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating and they make the experience 5 stars for sure! The food is so good, I don't even wanna cook at home anymore! Had a bad experience with you last night. Chicken alfredo had 4 large pieces of the sinew/cartilage where the breasts joined. Kitchen manager was called over and was annoyed that we complained about something so small, according to him. Offered to take it off bill but acted like he shouldn't need to as it shouldn't have been an issue. Will not return back. If his attitude had been different, we would, but his attitude was unacceptable. read more

We ordered the antipasto and a pizza with peppers, onions and mushrooms. The antipasto was very good--crisp lettuce and plenty of meats and cheeses to split amongst three people. While the pizza was delicious, it came out on the cool side. It definitely had been sitting out for a while. We let the server know and they did deduct a small percentage off the bill. They offered a new pie or to reheat ours, but we declined. It was a busy night and our server was doing their best to keep up but it took a while for them to come back to get our payment. It can get a bit noisy when the dining room is full. We will return to give them another try. read more

First trip to Romas yesterday for late lunch. They are in a strip mall but have a nice patio with umbrella tables & you really don't get the feeling of a strip mall restaurant. Service is friendly & wonderful, attentive, helpful with recommendations. Food is quite good & large servings. I ordered a custom pasta for $10.99, you pick your pasta, pick a sauce and for small price can add meats. I had spaghetti & ordered meat sauce & also sausage. Another time I might either just get the meat sauce ( it was so full of meat!) or else go with a marinara or something else & sausage. I have had 3 meals out of it & have a little left! Hubby got a dish that was spaghetti & had calamari, baby clams, shrimp in a really nice light sauce. Both of our entrees came with choice of soup or salad )Caesar or garden). Very pleasant experience! Will definitely be back soon! I did not even look at the indoor seating, it seemed dark & we love being outside as long as we can. So it's Friday night I'm literally next-door to the restaurant I go online. I look up the. Menu and place an order. You have to be extremely careful. I don't know if it's just this restaurant or if it's DoorDash, but it looked like I was ordering directly from the restaurant for pick up instead I was ordering through DoorDash and the chicken piccata was $18.99 if I would've ordered it directly through the restaurant and it was 28.99if I ordered it through, the online platform. I picked it up myself and it was not delivered and I ordered four entrées so I paid $120 in food where it should've been 75 bucks. Ouch. read more

The service is terrible and the food is inconsistent. You can order the same food 3 different times and never get it prepared the same way. The staff changes frequently and the long time servers seem to run off the good ones that are new. The servers are unresponsive and/or the restaurant is understaffed, but it's not unusual to wait a long time for a beverage refill, so plan accordingly. This restaurant misses so many opportunities for increased revenue as there seems to be a training issues where they don't notice empty glasses, dirty dishes sitting on tables, or providing utensils without asking. The only thing good about this place is the karaoke on Wednesday. read more

First, this is no reflection on our server, he was great. My wife and I went to dinner last night (and we often frequent this restaurant) and the meal was anything but good. I ordered Angel Hair pasta with Marinara sauce and Meatballs. When it came out and I started to eat it the sauce was NOT Marinara and it was very very SALTY. Same with the meatballs. I mentioned this to the server but told him I didn't want to box it up. At first I thought it was me but then we saw another couple who had ordered the same dish as mine and they also could not eat it. Not sure what SALT has to do with Angel Hair pasta or Sauce. My wifes Pomodora came out fine so seems someone in the back got salt happy with the Marinara and meatballs. Gonna be awhile before we go back. read more

Food and service were great, however the chicken parm sub I ordered had less than a spoonful of sauce on the entire thing. I requested more sauce and was charged $2 for a tiny plastic cup of sauce that should have been on the sandwich to begin with. I don't see how it even left the kitchen like that. Long time customer. Since the restaurant has changed hands it has changed. I went on a Sunday- not too busy. The hostess sat us down. The waitress never showed up. My friend tried to get any waitresses attention. Finally, the young lady who sat us down took our order. The food was ok. The dressing was wrong flavor- was replaced. The garlic knots- looked like rolls drowned in garlic butter. Too hard to eat. The quickest service was when it came time to pay. They charge a fee for credit now. I changed my mind and wanted to pay cash. There was some confusion about that. They should have offered to cancel the transaction and let me pay cash. The only reason why I gave 3* is because the pizza (to go) and calzones are excellent. The same crew is still there and know good (NY) pizza. The dine in menu is shortened to the basics. read more

We spent part of the afternoon at Silver Springs State Park (walking and a glass bottom boat ride) and considering our options on the way home, we decided to try Roma Italian Restaurant on US 27, just before Trilogy. We had gotten pizza there (takeout) before, but we hadn't actually eaten there. It was kind of odd that an Italian restaurant was jamming to country music, but given we were in the horse capital of the world, I guess it wasn't too surprising. We were promptly seated and our server, Erica, did a great job getting our drink and appetizer order. We selected the garlic knots. A little crustier than I expected, but there was no doubt it was garlic! Around the table, we ordered stuffed shells, chicken Caesar salad, calamari Mediterrano and Stromboli. And the results: the shells were yummy, but twin #1 said the cheese "wasn't as creamy as it should be." The sauce on the calamari dish was delicious, but the calamari was far too rubbery. Twin #2 - the Caesar Saladian - did not finish her salad, but reported it was pretty good. The Stromboli (filled with pepperoni, sausage and ham) was delicious. The marinara sauce served with it was very good! Overall, I guess it was a decent meal - just nothing special. I doubt we'll be back for a sit-down meal, but the pizza for carry out was great. read more

Our former favorite restaurant, my wife and I are broken-hearted. Prices have steadily risen while service has declined. The latest disappointment has been unexpectedly finding red bell pepper and red onion in our pizza and stromboli. I have nothing against them if that's what you want, but apparently now there is no choice. The day of the more Italian sweet white onions and green bell peppers is over. I don't think we'll be spending a lot of money there to see what other new disappointments await in our favorite dinners! Sorry. Arrivederci, Roma.... read more

Pizza tastes like cardboard with canned tomato sauce on it. The new owners claim to use the same recipes as the previous owner but you can tell the difference. If you're looking for a pizza place on HWY 27, I suggest San's in the old Publix plaza. read more

Roma's use to be one of our favorite restaurants in the Ocala FL area. It has now changed, the service is atrocious and management is obvious and doing nothing to make customers waiting feel like they're appreciated. We had to wait 15 minutes just to get a drink and have now been here an hour and 20 minutes and still don't have not received our food we ordered. The service is so poor people are yelling but it's falling on deaf ears. So sad to see a nice restaurant go bad. Will not be returning! Been going here for years , always wonderful. In the past month, 2 times went for simply pepperoni pizza. Both occasions I left after being lied to about a simply pizza. 1/30/2023 , was the last event. The wait staff where fine doing the jobs and the Petite short blonde hair manager was micro managing to the point she was contradicting her previous instructions. Chaos . But 35 minutes later she hand delivered my CHEESE and said sorry about the wait. I open the box infront of her and the entire restaurant and said damn my PEPPERONI pizza looks wonderful as I dropped it on the floor and walked out. Service was very good, polite and attentive. The setting was nice, the ambiance was pleasant. The pizza was underwhelming, soggy and doughy. It was seriously under cooked and they were not even busy. Using stone deck ovens it is very easy to make a really good high quality pizza quickly and for not much overhead cost. So there is really no excuse for what we received, other than lack of passion for what your putting out. Not sure if I will ever try them again, was basically just throwing money away. Took the leftover pizza and gave it to the gentleman with the sign at the intersection. Then proceeded to Milano's Italian Grill, to see if we could get good pizza. read more

What a great restaurant! The food was delicious the ambience was nice and service was excellent. I ordered a medium supreme combination pizza without the meatballs. No particular reason just didn't want them on it. I also ordered some of the heat garlic bread knots. Those are the best!! The bread was good consistency and the garlic and butter with cheese just made these oh sooo good!! The pizza when I got it was delicious. Had a nice crunchy crust and plenty of topping and cheese. I took the leftovers home and enjoyed it even reheated. I highly recommend this business. I've had a couple other pizzas in the area but I think Roma's has the best around. Great service and always asking if I needed something after I got my order. Nice clean well kept business. I will be back gain. The staff are always pleasant to talk to and they do their best to make sure I have a good experience while there. I really enjoy their calzones and that's what I mainly like to get there but their pizza is very good as well. They have a good establishment and I recommend them! read more

Waited for Waitress for 10 min to get to Our Table. We placed Our Order. The Kitchen took 45 min to Prepare Our Food. And not even an Apology for the Delay. Makes you think , Nobody cares whether you stay or not. And All we ordered was Appetizers. Calamari, Brushetta for Two , Baked Meatballs with Cheese and The Zuppa De Mussels in Wine Sauce. Everything Was Disappointing . Brushetta Bread was Soggy. Was Covered in Mostly Tomatoes, no Basil and No Parmesan. Calamari was Stuck Together and Had a Small Watered Down Tomato Sauce on Side. The Meatballs were Moist with Plenty of Sauce, surprise. The Zuppa De Mussels were just Unappatizing in What was supposed to be a White Wine Sauce. It wasnt appealing . The Only Thing worth this distasteful Trip was the Waitress. She Smiled and Was Polite . If anything, Stick to the Pizza, you might get Lucky . I wont Return to this Sham of Italian Food. During the times when I leave NYC to go visit my retired parents down in Ocala, Florida, the one thing that is sorely lacking in that area are decent spots to get good Italian food. Like most areas down south you normally have to hunt out those hidden gems where a transplant from the Northeast opened up shop and does food the authentic way. Hey, maybe it's the water, the humidity, the air, who knows, but at least I was pleasantly surprised when my folks brought me here not too long ago to enjoy a good Italian meal. The place itself is small, and almost has a strip-mall shop appeal to it, but the inside is comfy and decorated with pictures of old movie stars, Godfather and Goodfella's movie scenes, and other assorted old time mobster flick pics. You kind of feel as if you are eating dinner in old Italian uncle Louie's den. The place is family owned, and yes, they are originally from up north. A sweet old man, maybe the grandfather, came around and offered us a free tray of hot garlic bread. Yum! Hot and crispy with a nice garlic and butter flavor. We started off with perfectly prepared fried calamari. Their red sauce to dip in was sweet and full of flavor. We ordered a bunch of plates for the table to share. Chicken marsala, spaghetti with sauce, shrimp fradiavolo, and mussels marinara over penne pasta. I felt as if i was back in NYC having an Italian feast at one of the local joints I know. All were delicious, and filling. My 90 year old grandma finished off the mussels plate herself and I thought she was gonna lick off the plate! Of course, as good Italians do, we soaked up all the remaining sauce with the bread basket that was put on the table. Yeah, I was a fat kid. They have a nice sized menu here with all the Italian standards. They even have a pizza place next door with all types of subs, pizzas, calzones, and will deliver. Also, gotta love when a beer is only $2 here - makes you realize how crazy prices are in NYC! If you live in this area give it a shot. Friendly and pleasant service. Good food. Reasonably priced. You feel like part of "the family" here. It's comforting to know that I can now enjoy a solid Italian meal when down in retirement land! read more
