We were very happy when this store opened closer to our home. We come here often and they always have what we need. There is a great selection of products from Europe and even Central Asian countries. The choice of dairy products, sausages and fish is excellent. We especially love buying bread here. Great service! Let's start with fresh bread! Got it while still warm, yum! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Romashka is like walking into a European market in Saint Johns. When one first walks in you will see many products with the packaging in non-English languages[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was transported back to our last European vacation when I went into a market to find things to bring home as gifts for friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I than saw the wide selection of frozen perogis and thought about my grandmother's perogis cooking on the stove. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What an amazing place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I could have spent hours looking at each item in different aisles.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is larger than it looks outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Make sure you check out the fresh pastries before loading up on frozen ones. Also, next to the fresh bread and pastries is some meat. They don't have a meat slicer or a bread slicer. The fresh bread is delicious even having to cut it myself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The size is very clean with a lot of employees to help you if you have questions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great place to try something new or to remember the past.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Next time I'm going to try the fresh perogis and different flavors of the frozen ones too. read more

I'm already a fan of the original Beach Blvd location of Romashka so while I was down this way to go by We Got Soccer had to stop in here, too. This newer location is larger than the original one but doesn't have exactly the same items: it has more, but lacks a few of the specific chocolates the other has in example. It also has a larger deli and dairy section plus baked goods. The bread they bake on-site but the cakes and pastries come from "the bakery" where-ever that bakery is was not explained. Most items are Ukrainian or Russian, but I found Croatian herbal tea and chocolate as well. Strengths: --Great tea selection, like really impressive. --Honey and jams selection pretty good. --Candies and chocolates selection overall great. --Pickles and preserves very good. --Lots of frozen, pre-packaged cakes making up for the less-impressive selection of those "from the bakery". Weaknesses: --Flours/baking items selection could improve. --Butter selection is . . . ok. I won't be Belarusian about it, but it's just ok. Service is friendly and prompt. All in all, a very good store and of course importation of the goods they carry is currently difficult so I understand if they run out of things or can't get certain things. read more

Came here after lunch to just look around and check out the place. Oh my goodness, they have Ferrero Rocher, Milka, Kinder Bueno and Toblerone ice cream! They are just some of the options but there are MORE! I only bought a piece of the Plomber Ice Cream as we are going to watch a movie. But we came back a week after to buy them. They also have freshly baked breads, wines, cakes, and other grocery items. As for the ice creams, ALL were good, but if I would pick a favorite, it would be the Ferrero Rocher and the Milka. Romashka is an excellent grocery store and bakery, which bills itself as being "European," which hqs become a code for Russian/Ukrainian. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is super clean and very well run by a friendly and helpful team fluent in English but mostly from Ukraine, Moldova, and Russia.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They stock a wide selection of specialty foods from Eurasia and the Balkans, all of which is high quality and very fresh. This includes items like pelmeniy by the pound, a wide range of dairy products (including rich Russian & Umrainian sour cream), honey, and chocolates from the region. But the highlight IMHO is the freshbaked dark bread, hot out of the oven every morning around 10:15. It elevates even the humblest of sandwiches into something exquisite, and os the perfect foil for a comforting bowl of soup. read more

Looking for a wide selection of dark chocolates, this is the store. Store staff are nice and friendly. Don't forget to venture to the bakery section of the store. Napoleon's is my fave. I am very thankful this store opened a location in Saint Johns County. read more
