First I had lunch in the food court. You know what they say, don't go grocery shopping on an empty stomach! I went up and down every isle. I mostly bought international snacks, like chips, choco pies and croissants. Other purchases included Thai tea bags, jackfruit and a black pepper sauce. I love Thai tea and wanted to be able to stay home and make it instead of going to a restaurant. And bonus, it will save me money too! I also purchased some green peppermint tea and snacks to take to a friend. They were setting up for the second Saturday night market in the parking lot which includes authentic food from the Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Cambodia, and Vietnam. I'll be back with friends for the night market!

She is always so kind and cheerful. Besides that, they don't seem very friendly but I think that it's because of a language barrier. We've tried a couple of the local shops over the years and were mostly turned off. But recently, when we got a hankering for some homemade curries, marinades, stir fries, and such, we went on the hunt for something better and finally stumbled on Dinosaur. They aren't really "supermarket" huge, but far larger then the shops we've tried in the area. Plenty of shelf staples from a variety of cuisines, at decent prices. And a good selection of meats and produce that you won't find in the Winn-Dixies, Publixes, or Whole Foods in the area, and you can't simply order shipped from Amazon. As a "foody tourist" in a shop like this, I'm not entirely self sufficient. I can tell my galangal from my ginger, and my choy sum from my bok choy, but I still get lost trying to find or identify some things. The shopkeeper there keeps busy managing her store, and I don't expect her to play "tour guide," but she does try to be helpful and work past the language barrier when I come up with questions. The place is clean and pretty well organized considering the wide variety of foods and countries that are represented. A gold mine of exotic foods we can't find anywhere else.
