We recently had a lunch time meeting at work and had pizza delivered from Rome. We order 7 pizzas a few days in advance, 2 cheese, 2 pepperoni, and 3 meat lovers. With plenty of notice, this was no issue, and they were actually 20 minutes early making the delivery of a stack of hot pizza's to our office. We had minimal interaction with the staff, only the driver, who was friendly. The pizzas were all tasty, and as i mentioned delivered hot and ready to eat. They didn't skimp on toppings, especially for the meat lovers pizzas, they were loaded up. The crust wasn't anything that WOWed me though, it was soft, and thin, but lacked any real flavor. But any pizza is good pizza in my opinion. Their pricing was fair, and they delivered as scheduled! read more

Mixed bag is the best way I can describe the times I have had food from Rome Italian Pizza. I actually grew up in High Point, but had never eaten inside the actual restaurant until a week ago. That said, I have had pizzas either by take-out or delivery several times over what has to be 30 years now. Lately, I had a couple basic pizzas from them at a function in downtown, and we also stopped in for lunch on a total whim, wanting a pizza buffet. First, the pizzas over the years. I would say, on par with most of the locally owned pizza and local franchise spots around, like an Elizabeth's. Sometimes, I would describe the pizza as dry, other times, the sauce ratio is a little better and it is quite good. The pizza is a solid 4 stars, I would say, if you're considering a pizza... go for it, decide for yourself. Now, our most recent experience inside the restaurant, was simply not a positive one. We came in around 1pm, wanting to do the pizza buffet. Unfortunately, looking at what was available, it just wasn't appealing. The pizza was very cold, it needed a refresh. We expressed this to the waitress. If she had said "we'll make you a fresh pizza of whichever type you want" we'd have been game. That's not the response we got, so we moved on to hot subs. I ordered the meatball sub, my wife ordered chicken parm. The meatball was, just ok. The meatballs themselves were sliced and warm, sauce was the same I was used to from the pizza, cheese could have used more time to melt, but overall... I was OK. Her sandwich, was not good at all. She did write her own review about it, and I happen to agree. It's generally expected that ordering a chicken parm sandwich at an italian pizzeria is going to be a breaded cutlet. What was given was the shaved chicken that you would normally see if someone orders chicken on a pizza (not my thing, but to each their own). The result was very very dry chicken. The sandwich sat on her plate with two bites taken out of it for the meal duration. No prompt was given for whether we enjoyed our meal. In all, I learned my lesson that day, that this place is good for a fresh pizza. I'll only go that route in the future. The sandwiches were simply not our preference. The chicken parm needs to be rethought, or better explained as shaved chicken. read more

Aside from the kind server and clean interior, this was a terrible experience. We wanted to go to another restaurant's pizza buffet, but got there and saw that it was closed, and decided to try this one instead. We took one look at the pizza buffet and decided ordering a fresh sandwich would be better than the cold, unappealing slices sitting out. We were wrong. My partner ordered the meatball sub. It wasn't half-bad. Nothing stellar, but no real complaints. I ordered what was described as a "Chicken Parmesan" sub. What came out was dried, rotisserie chicken with a little bit of bland marinera sauce and mozzarella cheese that wasn't even fully melted. When I read "chicken parm," my assumption is that it's a breaded, fried chicken cutlet baked with marinera and cheese, then placed on a sub roll. Not whatever that was. So I really only had a few bites and couldn't bring myself to continue eating it. A person who appeared to be in management stopped by to ask if I wanted a box, and I kindly replied no thank you. I was somewhat expecting him to ask how the meal was since he clearly saw I didn't eat it. But nothing from him. read more

Only 1 type of lettuce, 1 type of cheese, no egg, no meat other than pepperoni, no fruit, very, very basic. Pizza crust was a good hand tossed style, but only offered 4 pizzas at a time and all were single ingredient pies with sparse cheese. They have speciality pizza on their menu but they were never put on the buffet. The restaurant was clean, the server was good, but the buffet was something I would have went to when I was 20 and hung over. Grabbed a couple pizzas tonight for a showroom dinner in Highpoint. We ordered the Rome pizza (supreme), ham and pineapple, and a cheese. All were decent. Nothing amazing, But i will say the supreme was absolutely loaded with toppings. It was very hearty 1-2 slices was more than filling. The ham and pineapple also had a very generous portion of toppings. Service was good and pizzas were ready in about 15 minutes. read more

First time trying this place bc they have later hours and it's within 3-4 mins of my home. I always see a decent amount of people in the restaurant as it sits at the corner of the stoplight. We ordered an extra large pizza with pepperoni, onions, green peppers, and mushrooms, a garlic cheesy bread, and a chicken salad with balsamic dressing. The order took about 10 mins to complete and when I went to pick it up, on my way out, I got almost to the door and realized I was forgetting the salad. I turned around reminded them and even asked if the balsamic dressing was in the bag, since they'd forgotten the salad at first. He assured me it was and I left. When I got home I realized that there were no mushrooms on our pizza and no dressing for the salad. The garlic cheesy bread was delicious! Great side! The pizza was pretty good, but the toppings were not spread out evenly on the slices. Some slices has plenty of veggies and other slices had two. The chicken salad had plenty of warm chicken on top of it. There were also green peppers, onions, a few tomatoes, Mozz cheese and some cumbers on top of iceberg lettuce. Overall, taste is ok, I'd try the restaurant again bc of great prices and hours, but Marcos will continue to be my go-to pizza spot! read more

The meatball Stromboli was large and buttery, meatballs mild, yet savory. Great cheese ratio and sweet tomato sauce. I love a good sausage sub, they didn't disappoint. The pizza is delivered with speed and has delicious flavor. However, the crust was undercooked. This has occurred more than once. With that said, I just turn on the oven and cook it a little longer. The undercooked crust does not deter me from ordering. Rome's pizza sauce is not sweet which is more important to me than the crust. The crust I can fix. The service was on point! Right went we walked in they greeted us and told us to have a seat. The waitress was very attentive and they checked on us often if we needed anything. Rome is my go to place to order delivery late night on the weekends. Fast service, low prices, and fresh tasting food. I got the usual pizza and a sub order. It's not the best Philly steak style pizza I've ever had, but it's one of the more loaded Philly steak pizzas! I'm not a fan of using the tomato sauce with a Philly style. I gotta appreciate how much steak is on there though. Might not look like too much in the picture, just take my word for it. My favorite thing at Rome is the Philly cheesesteak subs. I get the special which includes steak, lettuce, tomato, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms! The veggies are always grilled perfectly every time I order. Never too soft or too hard. Just right! Of course the steak portion size will always satisfy you. Definitely add a sub to your pizza order. Also Rome has some of the best house made ranch I've ever tasted. Rome Italian Pizza is a Triad staple, in my opinion. They have handled the pandemic with grace and have continued to output some incredible pizza and other Italian delights. I've tried many menu items and truly never have I been disappointed. My go-to order is the Grilled Chicken Salad, and I know you must be thinking, "how boring..." but it really isn't! It's loaded with a lot of grilled chicken (pack on the protein!), fresh vegetables and crisp lettuce. It has fresh onion, green pepper, carrots, mushrooms, olives, broccoli and mozzarella cheese. It's a huge salad and only costs $7! Their pizza is also stunning. Simple, but good ingredients equates to a solid choice. We typically stick with the standard pizzas, like hamburger or pepperoni, but they also have lots of choices with many ingredients. The hot subs are also amazing, with the Grilled Chicken Special sub or the Philly Cheese Steak being my two favorites. The staff here is so nice and helpful and their delivery service is amazingly quick. We don't live far, but they typically deliver within 20 - 30 minutes, if that. Today the pizzas included Cheese, Pepperoni, Hawaiian, Veggie, Spinach, and Sausage, and all were nice, though I'm not a big fan of ham and pineapple on a pizza. I don't get Rome as much as we should. But if I wanted pizza, I would have Rome be one of the top choices each and every time. You can't go wrong with their spinach pizza. White sauce, tomatoes, spinach, and cheese. You can just tell it's made with heart the moment you take a bite. Even grabbing it for take out or delivery, it is perfectly warm and fresh by the time you are sitting down to eat it. Rome has been here in High Point for a long time. Never have I been here but it's always been in my peripherals. They had scouts dropping off menus around my apartment complex earlier this week and being a big fan of Italian foods I took a look at the menu. Me and my brother were sitting hungry about a week or so before and took a trip to Mario's Pizza further up N Main for stromboli. Never have I ordered stromboli before. I like to be certain and confident in my foods so I rarely try new things but after spotting Rome prepares their own stromboli I had the opportunity to compare and... treat myself. There are tons of varying reviews here on yelp about the restaurant so I was skeptical but I hit the button. I ordered delivery online for one pepperoni stromboli turnover with additional italian sausage topping as well as an order of 20 hot wings. 25 minutes later I have my food so I would say they are pretty quick. The stromboli was hefty! The Italian sausage was cold cut slices instead of typical topping chunks/kibbles and the tomato dipping sauce was cooled while the rest of the food was still pretty warm. My only qualms. Other than that the wings are true to the reviews. Super bite sized wings. Though in the end they saved the day because I was starving lol 4 stars because no one is perfect and the tiny wings. Also there is no way that the one container of tomato sauce will stretch the duration of the consumption of the turnover. Overall a great experience online, speedy delivery and tasty foods read more
