No regrets on my most recent build your own pizza at Uncle Madio's. Even bad pizza is good, but Uncle Madio's makes a great pie, and I love being able to go down the line and add my fresh toppings similar to a burrito shop. On this visit I got a build your own 5 topping, with meatballs, sausage, ham ricotta and red onion. The staff is always friendly and generous with the toppings. My only complaint is the cost, a medium build your own pizza is over $20, which is a bit insane, fortunately they offer bogo coupons in the Attractions coupon book, otherwise I'm not sure we'd visit this pizza shop very much.

We were in High Point today and did a quick search for food nearby and found Uncle Maddio's. The pictures of their pizza's and positive reviews made us dig a bit deeper and we realized they also offer gluten free and cauliflower crust pizza and we decided to stop in. They are located within a larger shopping center with ample parking. We walked in and were a bit surprised to see a setup in which you order at the counter and select toppings, etc. much like a fast casual restaurant. We had it in our minds it would be the type of restaurant where table service was provided. The young men at the counter greeted us as we looked over the menu boards. They offer a build your own pizza option or you can choose from one of their signature pizzas. Sizes range from 10" (small), 12" (medium), or 16" (large). They also offer calzone, bread sticks, and a good array of salad options. We asked how long they had been there and were told about nine years. He also told us there are two locations in the Charlotte area. My wife chose the side salad with no cheese and ranch dressing along with a small cauliflower crust pizza with vegan cheese and tomatoes. I chose the Big Max pizza (pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon and hand made meatballs), as well as an order of breadsticks. We paid and took a seat at one of the tables. There is a fountain soda machine and they also offer beers in either cans or bottles. There is a station to grab plates, utensils, and napkins along with other items such as parmesan cheese, red pepper, etc. While we were waiting for our order we did a little research because we saw a sign about franchise opportunities. We learned they were started about 2009 in Atlanta by the founder and former president of the Moe's Southwest Grill chain. They currently have about 40 franchised locations primarily in the Southeast. Our order was brought out a few minutes later and looked yummy. My wife really enjoyed the cauliflower crust pizza with the vegan cheese. I also really enjoyed my pizza and thought the dough and toppings were yummy. Not totally what we expected but a solid experience which we would recommend to others.

It never disappoints! This is the first time I've ordered a larger pizza and it was amazing! I usually order a small (the lunch special) Even taking this pizza to go and getting it home, it was delicious. Crust isn't crispy but it isn't soggy either. Customer service, very attentive.

Good tasting pizza! Loved all the options for toppings. A little unsure why the price was the same for 2-5 toppings. I guess you should max out at 5, the medium size seemed a bit pricey. But overall a good atmosphere, fast service and friendly workers. Some fun touches with a chalk board and children's coloring pages.

Absolutely a wonderful place to drop by for a quick delicious meal. The employees were so helpful and patient with me and my elderly MIL. This was my first time visiting and there were several options to choose from. We chose a specialty pizza and the cook offered several additional toppings he thought made this pizza better and no additional charge. I am a fan!

Classic Margherita and Jamaican Jerk Chicken pizzas.

These pizzas were both delicious even though totally opposite flavors. The classic margarita pizza was exactly as I hoped. The herbs and spices blended superbly with the cheese and tomatoes. The Jamaican jerk chicken was fabulous. I know a lot of people might be afraid to order it because it could sound spicy but it was not at all. I like spicy food and would actually add some jerk sauce to it to make it spicier for my taste but trust me it was not spicy at all for my daughter and me. I believe this pizza was her favorite of the two. I couldn't pick a favorite because they were both so good and so different from each other. It tasted like fresh ingredients to me. I had these delivered. I would definitely order from them again maybe even try other pizzas

Green peppers, red onions, black olives, mushrooms, fresh mozzarella, balsamic glaze. Very fresh and tasty!

This is my new favorite pizza place! The staff is always friendly and the ingredients are always fresh. I love the variety they offer, and I also like that they have options for gluten free or vegan customers. Their regular crust, which is what I always get, is not too thin and not too thick, it's really perfect in my opinion. The drizzles they offer really bring the whole pizza flavor together! My favorite drizzles so far are pesto, balsamic glaze and BBQ! This evening, I got a small custom pizza with bacon, goat cheese, mild Italian sausage, roasted corn and red onions, with a balsamic glaze drizzle and also a BBQ drizzle - this is one of my new favorite combinations! The BBQ sauce paired perfectly with the goat cheese and bacon. My mom got a custom pizza as well with vegetables, fresh mozzarella and balsamic glaze. The vegetables were very fresh and the fresh mozzarella was a perfect addition, especially paired with the balsamic glaze. It's always fun coming up with new combinations. We will definitely be back again soon!

Outside looking in, it doesn't seem like anything too crazy. You walk in and the set up is similar to a Blaze or MOD Pizza. However, their pizza was great; could've been kept in the oven a bit longer, but that's just our preference! They have speciality and make your own and different sizing options, and salads! Overall pretty pleased with the experience; ever in the area again, I would go back!

I love when businesses really dive into their themes. The loaded fries were delicious. Including both solid (shredded cheddar) and liquid (white queso) cheese in one dish is a genius touch. I can't believe I've never thought to do that before. We paid to add fresh jalapeños to it, which added a nice fresh and spicy kick. Other than that, this was not a good experience. I did not enjoy the pizza, and the service was practically non-existent. Our server was nowhere to be found for the first 10 minutes or so, and then failed to bring drinks for several minutes after that. And it was not busy in there at all -- lots of open tables, and plenty of staff standing around. After delivering drinks and taking our order, he did not come back. We saw him walking around in other parts of the dining room, but he did not check on us. Several minutes after finishing our drinks, no refill in sight, we flagged him down and asked for a refill, which he brought. At this point, someone else had already delivered our food, and we were well into our meal. After bringing the one drink refill, we did not see him again until we asked for the check. The pizza was pretty dry, and did not come with vodka sauce as advertised. It was a red sauce not-so-thoroughly-mixed with Alfredo. I actually don't think they mixed them at all prior to putting it on the crust -- there were quite a few unmixed pockets, so I think they dolloped both on and swirled it around. I'm sure this does achieve a vodka-like flavor if executed correctly, but that was not the case here. Vodka sauce is typically silkier, more acidic, and far less sweet than this was. I didn't really like the red sauce at all here, and would definitely not order it (or their so-called vodka sauce) again. More salt/garlic would help, but I'd probably go with another base entirely, if I were to come back. In all, this is a great place to come if you're super into music, like appetizers, don't plan on eating pizza, and want to tip an aloof teenager for doing absolutely nothing.

By the standards of the latter, it's nothing special. We ordered a medium George's Combo pizza (pepperoni, sausage, beef, green peppers, and mushrooms) and an order of fried mushrooms. Food was read on-time, and it looked good. The pizza was generously topped, and the mushrooms were a nice golden brown. Those mushrooms were addictively good. Dip them in ranch, and you'll have a hard time stopping yourself from eating more than you should. The pizza was more of a mixed bag. The toppings were tasty as was the sauce: robust with just a hint of sweetness. However, the crust was mediocre, and $20-plus seemed steep for a medium pie. I can imagine that George's might be a fun place to watch a game, and it's certainly convenient, but it's far from the best pizza option in town.

Mixed bag is the best way I can describe the times I have had food from Rome Italian Pizza. I…read moreactually grew up in High Point, but had never eaten inside the actual restaurant until a week ago. That said, I have had pizzas either by take-out or delivery several times over what has to be 30 years now. Lately, I had a couple basic pizzas from them at a function in downtown, and we also stopped in for lunch on a total whim, wanting a pizza buffet. First, the pizzas over the years. I would say, on par with most of the locally owned pizza and local franchise spots around, like an Elizabeth's. Sometimes, I would describe the pizza as dry, other times, the sauce ratio is a little better and it is quite good. The pizza is a solid 4 stars, I would say, if you're considering a pizza... go for it, decide for yourself. Now, our most recent experience inside the restaurant, was simply not a positive one. We came in around 1pm, wanting to do the pizza buffet. Unfortunately, looking at what was available, it just wasn't appealing. The pizza was very cold, it needed a refresh. We expressed this to the waitress. If she had said "we'll make you a fresh pizza of whichever type you want" we'd have been game. That's not the response we got, so we moved on to hot subs. I ordered the meatball sub, my wife ordered chicken parm. The meatball was, just ok. The meatballs themselves were sliced and warm, sauce was the same I was used to from the pizza, cheese could have used more time to melt, but overall... I was OK. Her sandwich, was not good at all. She did write her own review about it, and I happen to agree. It's generally expected that ordering a chicken parm sandwich at an italian pizzeria is going to be a breaded cutlet. What was given was the shaved chicken that you would normally see if someone orders chicken on a pizza (not my thing, but to each their own). The result was very very dry chicken. The sandwich sat on her plate with two bites taken out of it for the meal duration. No prompt was given for whether we enjoyed our meal. In all, I learned my lesson that day, that this place is good for a fresh pizza. I'll only go that route in the future. The sandwiches were simply not our preference. The chicken parm needs to be rethought, or better explained as shaved chicken.

Aside from the kind server and clean interior, this was a terrible experience. We wanted to go to…read moreanother restaurant's pizza buffet, but got there and saw that it was closed, and decided to try this one instead. We took one look at the pizza buffet and decided ordering a fresh sandwich would be better than the cold, unappealing slices sitting out. We were wrong. My partner ordered the meatball sub. It wasn't half-bad. Nothing stellar, but no real complaints. I ordered what was described as a "Chicken Parmesan" sub. What came out was dried, rotisserie chicken with a little bit of bland marinera sauce and mozzarella cheese that wasn't even fully melted. When I read "chicken parm," my assumption is that it's a breaded, fried chicken cutlet baked with marinera and cheese, then placed on a sub roll. Not whatever that was. So I really only had a few bites and couldn't bring myself to continue eating it. A person who appeared to be in management stopped by to ask if I wanted a box, and I kindly replied no thank you. I was somewhat expecting him to ask how the meal was since he clearly saw I didn't eat it. But nothing from him.
