Ok. I've now become a fan of Giannos. We were deciding where to eat tonight and all I had to say was cheese bread. The car knew where we were going. Haley took excellent care of us from the word Go! The Cheese Bread did not disappoint. We enjoyed it and followed up with the salad. The salad was fresh and crisp. Haley offered Garlic bread but after you have had the cheese bread, it would just be a disappointment. (Their garlic bread is delicious) Dinner arrived.... I got the Chicken Florentine Manicotti. Jen got the lasagna. Togo box for the lasagna for sure. We were stuffed. Nice place. I had several bad experiences at the start but they have won me over. First time ever trying Giannos, not sure why it's taken me this long. Not pictured the bruschetta- a little heavy on the red onion for my liking but overall good flavor. I ordered the chicken piccata, enormous portion of pasta, 2 chicken breasts and a plateful of capers - so tasty!! Along with that, was the choice of soup or salad and I elected the French onion - delicious, cheesy, oniony, perfect balance. We'll be back, such a great local spot! read more

This place is one of our favorites and holds some sentimental value. It's my wife's favorite restaurant, where I took her after we got engaged years ago, had our rehearsal dinner here, and is a place we go whenever we have a celebration. The restaurant has always been clean and well kept. The parking lot is small and it can be difficult to find parking, but it's still worth the visit. The staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and well informed. They have always had recommendations and gone above to provide a good experience. The food is always delicious and I have never had a bad meal. This time we had a few appetizers including fried mozzarella and spinach dip. Both appetizers came out quickly and were piping hot. The mozzarella had a great cheese pull with a nice crispy outside. The spinach dip was creamy with a great cheese melt over the top of it. For dinner we had the salmon with asparagus and potatoes, the Charleston Chicken, and Chicken Corfu. We started with a side salad and French Onion Soup. The soup was one of the best I have had. The salmon was very tender and tasty. It was a large piece and my wife didn't even have room for the asparagus and potatoes. The Charleston Chicken and Chicken Corfu were both absolutely delicious dishes with a melange of flavors that all enhanced one another and blended well. We didn't have any desserts this time but they have absolutely wonderful desserts as well. Highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

I came to Giannos by recommendation and to carb up the day before the race. I went up to the hostess stand and got seated, but after waiting ten minutes sitting at the table, no one had come to attend to me. I went back to the hostess stand to ask where my waitress was, and the manager came over and profusely apologized for the wait, then took my order herself. I got the bread, Caesar salad, and spaghetti with meatballs, and it was delicious. To be honest though, the entire meal was silly expensive for what it was. I remembered I paid over $40 without tip (of course, I always tip). Good thing I only came here once and never again. Anywho, the manager made up for some, but the restaurant could work on its affordability. As far as ambience goes, noise level was great. Generally quiet. read more

This used to be my favorite Italian restaurant, if not one of my overall favorite in the entire Triad. These days, things have changed quite a bit, and the prices have risen dramatically (all places have had to do so, but here, it has been far more dramatic) so we just don't go here regularly like we used to. That said, we did stop in for the lunch pizza buffet on a random Thursday recently, and that was the same as it always was. A great pizza selection with the ability to request a pizza if you'd like something that isn't presented, fresh salad bar (a rare find these days) with plenty of their always wonderful house dressing available, and even a couple interesting dessert pizzas. The price on that too, has risen, but I deign anyone to find a better quality AYCE pizza experience than this one anywhere in the area. The have a pesto pizza here with a balsamic drizzle that is absolutely delicious, and you can have have baked spaghetti on a pizza if you want. How cool is that? Anyway, I endorse Gianno's for the pizza buffet. We have not been back for a dinner since my prior review, so not ready to comment on that again quite yet. read more

We stopped in for the lunch buffet after seeing lots of social medial posts about it. We did order the hot chip nacho appetizer which was super delicious. I'll preface this by saying it was a later lunch, but the buffet wasn't an amazing as we had thought it would be. Maybe it would have been fresher and more stocked earlier in the lunch rush. Went to an end of year luncheon for work today and tried manicotti for the first time. The manicotti comes out in a smaller dish but it was really good- I actually finished it at the restaurant. We walked in and it was a super busy Friday night, yet we were seated within 10 minutes. Loved that. The dining room is rather open so it was really loud with conversation, creating a nice buzz. They had two of my all time favorites so that's what I ordered. French Onion Soup and Manicotti. We choose the Cheese Bread for the appetizer. I have to say the bread was ok, would have been better if the bread had been toasted before adding the cheese, however the marinara was absolutely delicious. They timed everything to come to the table at various times so we had time to finish one course before starting the next. I was a little surprised by their prices, although not cheep but less expensive that I thought they might be. My dining partner got the Chicken Parm said it was delicious. Gianno's is a favorite place for lunch. Especially the option for the all you can eat Pizza and salad bar! The pasta salad on the salad bar is the best I have ever had. And on the Pizza bar they are continually bringing out a wide variety of pizza. And I can eat a lot. Even when they have a large crowd it is possible to carry-on conversations. The servers are very good at observing the customers to respond to what they need. The dining room layouts provide for just about any size group. Took friends out to dinner recently to thank them for their help ona. Project my wife and I were working on. They asked for Italian, and I suggested Giannos. It was their first time visiting and they were happy to try it. We arrived around 6, and were promptly seated. The waitress was friendly, halo full and quick to make a few suggestions. We placed our orders, I got the pasta carbonara, one of my favorite dishes. Food came out reasonably quickly, and tasted great! It was a bit on the greasier side than ost times I've gotten it, maybe due to the amount or quality of pork product used (?). But tasty nonetheless. The portions are generous especially considering then side salad, and there was some to take home for lunch. My only real complaint isitt seemed like as people arrived they kept seating them in the same area we were sitting in, rather than spreading them out. Unfortunately this meant it quickly became rather loud in the bar area and a bit hard to have a conversation But food and service were good, and I'd recommend this place over the chain pasta spots any day. read more

Our server, Grace, was very kind and attentive! Made sure we had fresh drinks and checked in frequently which was nice. We got there around 5:00 so it wasn't too busy but definitely filled up near the end of our meal! We appreciated getting bread and butter to start off our dining experience. Appetizers: we got Calamari and Gorgonzola Baked Scallops. The calamari was so delicious and I appreciated how it came with sweet and sour sauce and marinara! Neither of us really liked the Gorgonzola baked scallops.. unfortunately the Gorgonzola really overpowered the scallops. However, the mango salsa was really nice. Entrees: I got Frutti de Mare and it was really delicious! The seafood all tasted nice and fresh. The sauce kind of lacked flavor so I added a little salt and pepper which made it better. My fiance got the Seafood Alla Vodka which was really good and I think that's what I would get if we go back! Desserts: I got tiramisu and ate the entire thing even after a huge meal! Visited Giannos recently with my husband and as usual the food was delicious! We both got the chicken rollantini. This was the first time trying it and it did not disappoint! The house salad was fresh and crisp. The blue cheese dressing isn't chunky like I prefer but still good. Service was good but a tad slow because we had the bartender who was also trying to serve the bar which was his priority understandably. Giannos is consistently good. I've been here several times and will go back. We went with a fairly large group and the staff were very accommodating. Our waitress was very helpful and did a great job. We had several different appetizers. The firecracker shrimp and fried mozzarella were the best. Calamari definitely could have been hotter; served with pretty generic sauces. The pizzas there are excellent. Good crust and the right amount of toppings. Definitely recommend and I'll be getting that again when I return. The best pasta dish I had was the chicken picatta. The lasagna was OK. Portions for the baked spaghetti were huge. Wait times both for seating, in quite a large establishment, and to be serviced have been squirrelly over all my experiences other than take out. It's still the go-to for Italian in HP, we're not in NYC, or Sicily, what shall you do?; I would still recommend. My tip would be to call ahead and get a confirmation of what to expect as far as business and wait. We always love coming to Giannos to eat. They have a wide selection of dishes and I love the atmosphere. The hostess and wait staff are top-notch and very friendly. I love the brick oven pizza but my favorite dish is the chicken saltimbocca. It's full of flavor. My girl had the roasted garlic shrimp with bowtie pasta and she loved it. Their portions are large. I went to this place based on some really good reviews so this may not go over well with some but my experience at Giannos was truly awful. I'm only even giving it 2 stars because our waitress was the only fantastic part of the night. My daughter had her Fall dance concert at HPU so we stopped at Giannos after. It was pretty late but it became crowded as many families from the show had the same idea. We ordered the bruschetta to start and it set the tone for the rest of the meal. The bread was soggy and the whole thing lacked flavor. The worst part is they covered it with melted cheese for some reason but the cheese was cold when it arrived as well. I've never experienced bruschetta with cheese and I hope I don't again. The bread in the bread basket was old and tasted terrible. I got the garlic shrimp with pasta for dinner and it was okay except the pasta was overcooked. When a bow tie pasta doesn't hold its shape anymore you have indeed overcooked it. Shrimp were decent size and the flavors were decent but there was barely any spinach and too much prosciutto. My husband ordered a glass of Chianti that was bad bad bad and I did something we rarely do & sent it back to be taken off the bill. I can't remember what he had for dinner but he wasn't pleased. My daughter had the best thing & that was chicken parm. I could nit pick it for not being pounded thin or breaded properly BUT I'll let this be the positive bit of the review. The chicken was nice breast pieces that looked like regular fried chicken with chunky tomato sauce on top. It was good not great. Big portion of chicken and pasta but the sauce lacked flavor too. When it was time to clear the plates a man came over and basically asked us to hand him our dishes rather than collect them himself. We did not order dessert. Sadly, we won't be back. read more

My husband and I took my mother here and the food, atmosphere, and service were all terrific! Unfortunately, when my husband checked his online charges, Gianno's had added their own gratuity. The receipt he signed was for $75 and some change, the charge on his statement was $91 and some change. We had left a cash tip, we always try to do that so the server isn't taxed on it. If you've worked in the restaurant business, you know how it works! The automatic gratuity policy they advertised only applied to groups of 6 or more and there were just 3 of us dining. Came here with my family from out of town. We had a really nice time and the food was pretty good. Our waiter was rather new, I think. We ordered a bottle of wine and he wasn't sure how to open it. I think it flustered him a little. We got the bruschetta and ranch fries for appetizers. They were both very good, but the bruschetta stood out. It was excellent. Salads and french onion soup were very good. We had an array of entrees that included scallops, veal, chicken and pasta. The stand outs were the veal picata and the scallops. Both dishes were presented well and were very good. My husband got the baked spaghetti. It was just ok. It needed more sauce and cheese. He was a bit disappointed.
